Detailed Description
In order to further understand the objects, structures, features and functions of the present invention, the following embodiments are described in detail.
Referring to fig. 1, fig. 1 is a block diagram of a display system 10 according to an embodiment of the present invention. The display system 10 includes a first electronic device 20 and a second electronic device 30 (or referred to as electronic devices). The first electronic device 20 is an electronic device having a camera function, such as a notebook computer, a smart phone, and a tablet computer. The first electronic device 20 includes a first display unit 201, a first image capturing unit 203, a memory unit 205, and a processing unit 207. The first display unit 201 is, for example, a liquid crystal display, a light emitting diode display, or the like. The first image capturing unit 203 may be a camera. Memory cell 205 may be a non-volatile memory. The memory unit 205 stores an application program 2051. The processing unit 207 may be a general purpose processor or a special purpose processing chip. The processing unit 207 is coupled to the first display unit 201, the first image capturing unit 203 and the memory unit 205. The application programs 2051, when executed by the processing unit 207, may cause the processing unit 207 to perform the associated operations necessary to implement the first electronic device 20 side of the present invention.
The second electronic device 30 includes a second display unit 301, a second image capturing unit 303 and a connection interface 305. The second display unit 301 is, for example, a liquid crystal display, a light emitting diode display, or the like. The second image capturing unit 303 may be a camera. The Type of the connection interface 305 may be USB (Universal Serial Bus) or USB-C (Universal Serial Bus Type-C). The second electronic device 30 can be electrically connected to the first electronic device 20 through a cable coupled to the connection interface 305, so that signals can be transmitted between the first electronic device 20 and the second electronic device 30.
When the user triggers a switching event in the second electronic device 30, the connection interface 305 transmits the control signal CTL to the first electronic device 20 through the cable. In response to the control signal CTL, the application 2051 executed by the processing unit 207 in the first electronic device 20 causes the processing unit 207 to switch the source of the image signal in use by the application 2051 from one of the first image capturing unit 203 and the second image capturing unit 303 to the other one of the first image capturing unit 203 and the second image capturing unit 303 according to the control signal CTL, and the image signal in use by the application 2051 can be synchronously transmitted to the second electronic device 30 through the cable or synchronously displayed on the first display unit 201.
In the embodiment, the first electronic device 20 is a notebook computer 20, and the second electronic device 30 is a plasma television 30 (or called plasma television, the same applies hereinafter), but the invention is not limited thereto. The notebook computer 20 is connected to the plasma tv 30 through the image cable, the display screen 301 (i.e. the second display unit 301) of the plasma tv 30 displays the same content as the display screen 201 (i.e. the first display unit 201) of the notebook computer 20, when the notebook computer 20 is running the application program of the video call, the image signal for the video call comes from the image of the near-end user captured by the first image capturing unit 203 of the notebook computer 20, and when the user watches the same image before moving to the plasma tv 30, the user can trigger a switching event on the plasma tv 30, so that the connection interface 305 transmits the control signal CTL to the notebook computer 20, so that the processing unit 207 of the notebook computer 20 switches the image signal source of the video call from the first image capturing unit 203 to the second image capturing unit 303 of the plasma tv 30. Therefore, the user can provide the image signal source of the video call from the second image capturing unit 303 without operating the first electronic device 20, and view the picture provided by the other party of the call on the large-size screen.
Referring to fig. 2, fig. 2 is a block diagram of a second electronic device 30a according to an embodiment of the invention. The second electronic device 30a includes a second display unit 301, a second image capturing unit 303, a connection interface 305, a control unit 307, and a switching unit 309. The second display unit 301, the second image capturing unit 303 and the connection interface 305 can refer to the above description, and are not described herein again. The control unit 307 is, for example, a zoom controller (scaler). The control unit 307 is coupled to the second image capturing unit 303, the connection interface 305 and the switching unit 309. The switching unit 309 may include a switch and a cover of the second image capturing unit 303. In the embodiment, the switch unit 309 is coupled to the connection interface 305 and the control unit 307 via a General purpose input/output (GPIO) pin, and the control unit 307 is coupled to the connection interface 305 via an integrated circuit bus (I2C bus).
In the present embodiment, the switching event is triggered by changing the switching unit 309 from the first state to the second state. When the switching event is triggered, the control unit 307 enables or disables the second image capturing unit 303 and transmits the control signal CTL to the connection interface 305, and the control signal CTL is transmitted from the connection interface 305 to the first electronic device 20.
For example, a cover may be disposed in front of the second image capturing unit 303 to protect the camera of the second image capturing unit 303, and the cover may be a sliding cover or a flip cover. When the cover covers the camera of the second image capturing unit 303, the switching unit 309 is in the first state, and when the cover does not cover the second image capturing unit 303, the camera of the second image capturing unit 303 is exposed, and the switching unit 309 is in the second state. When the switching unit 309 is switched from the first state to the second state, a switching event is triggered, and the cover touches the switch to cause the switching unit 309 to send a notification signal (for example, the signal of the GPIO pin is switched from logic 0 to logic 1) to the connection interface 305 and the control unit 307. Then, the control unit 307 enables the second image capturing unit 303 to start image capturing in response to the notification signal and transmits the control signal CTL indicating the enabling and the captured image signal to the connection interface 305, and the connection interface 305 transmits the control signal CTL to the first electronic device 20. The application 2051 of the first electronic device 20 switches the source of the image signal from the first image capturing unit 203 to the second image capturing unit 303 according to the control signal CTL.
On the other hand, when the switching unit 309 is switched from the second state to the first state (i.e. the cover is covered to shield the second image capturing unit 303), the switching event is triggered, and the cover releases the switch to enable the switching unit 309 to send a notification signal (e.g. the signal of the GPIO pin is changed from logic 1 to logic 0) to the connection interface 305 and the control unit 307. Then, the control unit 307 disables the second image capturing unit 303 in response to the notification signal and transmits the control signal CTL indicating the disabling to the connection interface 305, and the connection interface 305 transmits the control signal CTL to the first electronic device 20. The application 2051 of the first electronic device 20 switches the source of the image signal from the second image capturing unit 303 to the first image capturing unit 203 according to the control signal CTL.
In one embodiment, the second electronic device 30a may further include a user operation interface (not shown). The user operation interface can be displayed on the second display unit 301, for example, for a user to operate. The user interface can be used to enable or disable the control unit 307 to send the control signal CTL to the connection interface 305 according to the user selection. In other words, the user can select whether to enable the above-described functions by operating the user operation interface, for example, when the sliding cover is opened to expose the second image capturing unit 303, the control signal is transmitted to the first electronic device 20, so that the first electronic device 20 automatically switches the image signal source to the second image capturing unit 303. In another embodiment, the user can also select whether the above-described functions are enabled by operating the application 2051 of the first electronic device 20, for example, when the sliding cover is opened to expose the second image capturing unit 303, a control signal is sent to the first electronic device so that the first electronic device automatically switches the source of the image signal to the second image capturing unit 303.
In an embodiment, when the first electronic device 20 uses the image signal source of the second image capturing unit 303 and the second image capturing unit 303 is in the enabled state and is not operated for a specific time (for example, the application program 2051 detects that the first electronic device 20 does not use the second image capturing unit 303 for 30 seconds), the second electronic device 30a and/or the first electronic device 20 may display a prompt message on the second display unit 301 and/or the first display unit 201 to prompt the user to change the state of the switching unit so as to disable the second image capturing unit 303.
In an embodiment, when the first electronic device 20 uses the image signal source of the second image capturing unit 303 and the second image capturing unit 303 is enabled, the application 2051 of the first electronic device 20 may determine whether a login failure event occurs according to one or more images provided by the second image capturing unit 303, where the login failure event is, for example, a user who fails to pass verification such as face recognition, eye recognition, and the like attempts to login/unlock the first electronic device 20 and/or the second electronic device 30 a. When the login failure event occurs, the application 2051 of the first electronic device 20 may record the image signal provided by the second image capturing unit 303 for the legitimate user to view.
It should be noted that, in the embodiment where the connection Interface 305 is a USB type, the second electronic device 30a may include an audio/video signal transmission Interface, such as an HDMI (High Definition Multimedia Interface), for connecting to the first electronic device 20 through another cable to transmit an audio/video signal, wherein the audio/video signal may include images captured by the second image capturing unit 303 and the first image capturing unit 203. In other words, the control signal CTL and the av signal use different transmission paths. In the embodiment where the connection interface 305 is of the USB-C type, the audio/video signals between the second electronic device 30a and the first electronic device 30 can be transmitted through the connection interface 305 (i.e. the USB-C interface).
Referring to fig. 3, fig. 3 is a block diagram of a second electronic device 30b according to another embodiment of the invention. The second electronic device 30b includes a second display unit 301, a second image capturing unit 303, a connection interface 305, and a microprocessor unit 311. The second display unit 301, the second image capturing unit 303 and the connection interface 305 can refer to the above description, and are not described herein again. The micro-processing unit 311 may be a general purpose processor or a special purpose processing chip. The micro-processing unit 311 is coupled to the second image capturing unit 303 and the connection interface 305. The micro-processing unit 311 is configured to determine whether a switching event is triggered according to one or more images captured from the second image capturing unit 303. When the switching event is triggered, the control signal CTL is transmitted to the connection interface 305, and then the connection interface 305 transmits the control signal CTL to the first electronic device 20 through the cable. In one embodiment, the first electronic device 20 is connected to the second electronic device 30b, the second image capturing unit 303 may be constantly enabled to continuously provide the images to the micro processing unit 311 for recognition, and the micro processing unit 311 determines whether the switching event is triggered according to the one or more images being subjected to face recognition, eye tracking or specific motion recognition. In one embodiment, the first electronic device 20 is in a locked state, the microprocessor 311 determines that a human face exists in the image captured by the second image capturing unit 303, the microprocessor 311 transmits a control signal CTL to the connection interface 305, so that the first electronic device 20 uses the image source of the second image capturing unit 303 and further performs human face recognition on the received image, determines whether the image is a valid user of the first electronic device 20, and if so, unlocks the first electronic device 20; another embodiment may be: in the embodiment, the first electronic device 20 may be, for example, a notebook computer, and the second electronic device 30b may be, for example, an All-in-One computer or a display with an image recognition function.
In summary, when the electronic device and the display system with the display unit of the present invention are applied, a user can trigger a switching event at the second electronic device end, so that the application program at the first electronic device end changes the source of the image signal. Compared with the prior art that the user needs to operate the first electronic device end to switch the image signal source, the method and the device are more convenient and visual.
