Description

Operating device for tilting and rotating a door or window
The patent application of the invention is a divisional application of the patent application with the international application number PCT/IB2016/051598, the international application date 2016, 3/22/2016, and the application number 201680018646.X entitled "operating device for tilting and rotating doors or windows" entering the Chinese national phase.
Technical Field
The present invention relates to an operating device for tilting and rotating a door or window.
Background
Currently, doors or windows that can be opened by rotation or tilting generally comprise operating accessories mounted along the uprights and crosspieces of the fixed and movable frames and designed to allow a rotating or tilting opening configuration by operating the handle.
In the particular case of doors or windows that open by tilting, these operating accessories allow the upper part of the sash to move away from the fixed frame by rotating about a lower horizontal axis defined by a lower hinge (specially configured for this purpose) and thanks to a closing constraint (locking bar) mounted on the bottom crosspiece.
Also for this opening style, at the top corners of the fixed frame and sash, the door or window is equipped with an operating element designed to support the top of the sash during opening of the sash by tilting and connected to the upper hinge.
In particular in connection with the present description, the operating element comprises the following components:
a slider for transmitting the movement of the handle, the slider being housed in the groove of the sash crosspiece and being slidable therein;
-a selector element connected to the slider, the selector element being slidable within the groove of the crosspiece;
an upper positioning body positioned partially within the groove of the upper crosspiece and stably fixable to the groove by fixing means; the body is configured to allow free sliding of a transfer slide (normally) located below the body;
a connecting arm hinged at a first end to the movable part of the upper hinge (for hinging between the fixed frame and the sash) and at the other end to the positioning body;
a link limiting the opening angle of the sash in the tilted open configuration and hinged at its ends to the midpoint of the arm and to the positioning body.
The connecting arm is fixed to the positioning body by means of a pin slidable in a slot of the positioning body, allowing a controlled rotational translation during the step of opening the individual closing sash.
The opening element thus configured has four connecting/hinging points which allow the sash to be correctly supported in the following configurations which it can adopt: the door or window is closed, rotated open, tilted open with the portion of the upper hinge.
To implement the three configurations described above, the connecting arm is equipped with a pair of fixed pins (positioned at a predetermined distance or interval from each other) and a flat section that project below the arm. The two pins (and the flat section) define the connecting/selecting means, which can be intercepted by a selector element that can slide in a groove and is connected to the transfer slide, when the arm is parallel to the crosspiece of the sash.
The selector element comprises a latch element defined by two side walls, equipped with a central groove, to intercept the pin (or the flat section of the arm) during the rotation of the handle.
It should be noted that the standard opening order of the sash includes: in the case of a door or window closed (grip facing downwards), the latch plate and at least the first pin (in the closed configuration, generally the one closest to the corner of the sash); in the case of a door or window that is open in the rotated configuration (the catch is first turned about a right angle), the latch plate is pulled by the slider away from the corner of the crosspiece of the sash and intercepts at least a second pin (located behind the first pin), so that the retaining arm is locked above the crosspiece while the sash can turn about a vertical axis; with the door or window in an inclined configuration (the catch is turned another right angle further), the latch plate is pulled further away from the corner of the rail to the flat section of the arm; this position of the latch plate allows the connecting arm to be released. The possibility of movement (rotation-translation) allows the sash to rotate around the lower horizontal axis up to the following angles: the angle is defined by the combination of the rotation of the arm with the translation in the slotted seat of the positioning body and with the corresponding rotation of the restraining link.
In addition to this standard sequence of positions for operating the sash, there is also a need, particularly in some north markets, for a sequence of positions in which, due to the low temperatures (particularly during winter months), it is preferable to have a tilting pattern like the first open configuration.
To this end, the connecting arms destined to these markets have been modified during production to: the structure described above, i.e. two pins suitably spaced apart in sequence by a first central distance, followed by a flat free space (for the inclined opening of the sash and separated by another central distance from the second pin), is modified by fixing the second pin in the original flat free space, which is created between the two pins by the greater relative central-to-central distance between the two pins.
Now, since the pins used are generally fixed by interference in suitably made holes on the connecting arms, in order to obtain this new sequence, the arms are made in different production lines for this type of sequence.
Another diversification of the elements of the modes of the above-described device is due to the different extensions of the slots formed on the positioning body (which allow a controlled rotation-translation of the arms during the steps of opening and closing the sash).
In fact, the slot can be made according to different extensions, depending on the size of the door or window, or the maximum opening angle that can be obtained, or the constructional or mechanical needs of the device, or the particular design required by the user.
Thus, the different configurations of the arms and the different dimensions of the slots, depending on the type of sequence to be obtained, result in the need for different production lines and different storage spaces in the steps of producing the plant as a whole, which enable to include various modes of the plant ready for various market needs.
This determines an increase in the overall production cost of the device and an increase in storage space and cost.
Disclosure of Invention
The present invention has for its object to provide an operating device for tilting and rotating a door or window which overcomes the above mentioned drawbacks of the prior art.
More specifically, it is an object of the present invention to provide an operating device for tilting and rotating doors or windows which is able to satisfy the various mode requirements with a single type of device having a high degree of operational flexibility.
Another object of the present invention is to provide an operating device for tilting and rotating a door or window, which is capable of modifying the opening sequence without replacing the operating parts.
It is also an object of the present invention to provide an operating device for tilting and rotating a door or window, which is capable of modifying and adapting the opening angle without replacing the existing operating parts.
These objects are fully met by an operating device for tilting and rotating a door or window according to the characteristics of the appended claims.
More specifically, the operating device according to the invention is used for rotating and tilting doors or windows comprising a fixed frame and a movable sash connected to each other along respective vertical uprights by a pair of hinges, namely a lower hinge and an upper hinge, and a control handle positioned on the upright opposite to the upright connected to the fixed frame.
The operating device comprises a slider for transmitting the movement of the handle, which is housed and slidable in a groove of the upper crosspiece of the sash.
The apparatus also includes a positioning body secured in the recess of the upper rail. The body has a slot with a longitudinal operative extension.
The device further comprises a connecting arm hinged at a first end to the movable part of the upper hinge and at the other end to the positioning body by means of a pin housed in a slot of the positioning body. The arm has an opposite surface provided with two elements projecting towards the groove and a free area spaced from each other along the arm.
The device further comprises a selector element connected to the slider and slidable within the groove of the upper crosspiece for intercepting the protruding element and the free area according to a sequence predetermined by the relative position of the protruding element and the free area, defining respective closed, rotated-open and tilted-open configurations that can be adopted by the transportable sash.
According to the invention, the device comprises means for adjusting the travel of the pin of the connecting arm in the slot of the positioning body.
In view of this, the adjustment device is positioned on the positioning body and is movable between several stable positions within the slot for modifying the longitudinal operating extension.
The operative extension of the slot of the adjustment arm and the consequent possibility of adjusting the angle at which the sash is opened in the tilted configuration allows to make the arm with a slot having a generally equal extension which can then be modified by the adjustment means.
This allows individual parts to be manufactured without doubling the production line of the arm.
Preferably, the device comprises at least one of the projecting elements provided with removable positioning means acting between the connecting arm and at least one of the projecting elements for modifying the position of this projecting element relative to the other along the arm, so as to thereby change the sequence of configurations that can be adopted by the movable sash.
Since the projecting element structure has a modifiable positioning, it is possible to make the arm with generally identical parts, which in turn make it possible to select the order of the positions to be adopted by the sash (conventional or logical type order) only when required.
Also due to this feature, the flexibility of use of the arm can be increased, but a single arm pattern is made.

Detailed Description
With reference to the figures and in particular to figures 1 to 4, the operating device according to the invention, generally designated by the reference numeral 100, is used on tilting and rotating doors or windows 1. The door or window 1 (see fig. 1) comprises a fixed frame 2 and a movable sash 3, which are connected to each other along respective uprights 4 and 5 by a pair of hinges, a lower hinge 6 and an upper hinge 7.
The door or window also comprises a handle control 8 mounted on a pillar 9 opposite to the pillar connected to the fixed frame 2.
As will be indicated below, the handle 8 controls the opening and closing sequence of the door or window 1 by means of transmission means (only partially shown).
More specifically, the fixed frame 2 and the sash 3 each have a peripheral groove 11 in which slides respective sliders (not shown) for connecting and transmitting levers of the command of the handle 8, which is actuated by rotation of the handle 8a of the handle to a predetermined position.
The operating device 100 comprises (see fig. 2 to 4) a slide 10 for transmitting the movement of the handle 8, which slide 10 is accommodated in a groove 11 of an upper crosspiece 12 of the sash 3 and can slide in this groove 11.
The handling device 100 further comprises a positioning body 13 fixed in the recess 11 of the upper crosspiece 12.
Furthermore, the body 13 has a slot 14 with a longitudinal operating extension L.
The operating device 100 comprises a connecting arm 15, which connecting arm 15 is hinged at a first end to the movable part of the upper hinge 7 and at the other end to the positioning body 13 by means of a pin 16 housed in a slot 14 of the positioning body 13.
In view of this, the arm 15 has an opposite surface provided with at least two elements 17, 18 projecting towards the groove 11 and a free area 19, mutually spaced along the arm 15.
The operating device 100 comprises a selector element 20 connected to the slide 10 and able to slide in the groove 11 of the upper crosspiece 12 for intercepting the protruding elements 17, 18 and the free area 19 according to a sequence predetermined by the relative position of the protruding elements 17 and 18 and the free area 19, so as to define respective closed, rotated open and tilted open configurations able to be adopted by the movable sash 3.
Preferably, but not necessarily, the operating device 100 has connecting rods 42 hinged at opposite ends thereof, respectively at the mid-points of the connecting arm 15 and the positioning body 13, for further limiting the opening angle of the movable sash 3 in the tilted configuration.
According to the invention, the device 100 comprises means 32 for adjusting the travel of the pin 16 of the connecting arm 15 in the slot 14 of the positioning body 13.
These adjustment means 32 are positioned on the positioning body 13 and can move between several stable positions within the slot 14 for modifying the longitudinal operating extension L (see fig. 14 to 17).
Thanks to these adjustment means, the connecting arm 15 can be made with a single slot 14 of standard size without having to modify or add operating wires (and dedicated dies) for different solutions with corresponding slots of different extension.
During the tilted opening and the return of the movable sash 3 to the closed position, the pin 16 of the connecting arm 15 slides in the slot 14.
By modifying the operative extension L of the slot 14 (for example during assembly of the door or window 1), it is possible to modify the size of the angle of inclination of the movable sash 3 in the inclined configuration.
Preferably, these adjustment means 32 comprise a template 33 configured to match and overlap slot 14, having an opening L33 of slotted extension different from (preferably smaller than) the longitudinal operating extension L of the slot.
The template 33 matches the shape of the slot 14 and may be superposed on the slot 14 in use.
In other words, the template 33 (see fig. 4 and 14) defines a slotted mask shaped with one of its closed ends in the form of an open seat 33a for stably housing the pin 16 of the connecting arm 15 in the abutment configuration of the device 100, i.e. in the closed or pivoted open configuration of the movable sash 3.
The template 33 has a cross-sectional shape designed to be slidably coupled, by superposition, on the corresponding walls of the positioning body 13 defining the slot 14.
In other words, the template 33 is a tray with a slotted opening and a supporting edge on the wall of the positioning body 13 defining the slot 14.
In a variant embodiment (see fig. 4a and 14a), these adjustment means 32 comprise a fork-shaped template 330 shaped to match only part of the slot 14 and which can be superimposed, in use, on the slot 14.
In other words, the template 330 defines a half-slot (having the form of a "U") whose one closed end is shaped in the form of an open seat 33a for stably housing the pin 16 of the connecting arm 15 in the rest configuration of the device 100 (i.e. in the closed or rotated open configuration of the movable sash 3).
Template 330 has a cross-sectional shape designed to be slidably coupled by stacking to the corresponding walls of positioning body 13 that define slot 14.
In view of this and for both solutions, template 33 or 330 has a rod 34 for supporting and connecting, at the opposite closed end, an adjustment slide 35 associated with positioning body 13 and configured for slidably adjusting the position of template 33 within slot 14 when required.
Preferably, the adjustment slider 35 comprises a relative front portion provided with at least one seat 36 for coupling with a corresponding pin 34a present on the bar 34 of the template 33 or 330, and a rear portion equipped with a tooth 37, the tooth 37 facing an opposite tooth 38 made on the surface of the positioning body 13 and able to couple, in use, with this opposite tooth 38.
Preferably, the adjustment slider 35 comprises a pair of seats 36 which can be coupled with corresponding pins 34a present on the rod 34, so as to stabilize the template 33 or 330 and to make the adjustment movement of the template more precise.
In this regard, tooth 37 and opposing tooth 38 define a plurality of stable positions of template 33 or 330 within slot 14.
Preferably, the positioning body 13 has a second slot 39 made in proximity to the other slot 14 and slidably engaged against the surface of the positioning body 13 by a removable retaining element 40 of the adjustment slider 35.
In other words, the template 33 or 330 rests on the slot 14 and is stably integral on the positioning body 13 by means of the connection with the adjustment slider 35, which adjustment slider 35 is in turn fixed to the body 13 by means of the connecting element 40 (for example, a screw) slidable in the second slot 39.
The connecting arm 15 is provided with a further slot opening 41, which further slot opening 41 is positioned above the second slot 39 in the abutment configuration of the device 100.
The position of the template 33 or 330 and thus the longitudinal operating extension L is modified as follows.
The connecting element 40 is loosened to loosen the coupling between the tooth 37 and the opposite tooth 38.
The template 33 or 330 is slid (in one of two directions) along the slot 14 until a desired position within the slot 14 is reached for determining a desired operational extension L.
This sliding is stepped, if desired, and coincides with the teeth 37 on the opposite tooth 38.
This adjustment can also be carried out with the device 100 fixed, thanks to the presence of the opening 41, which allows the retaining element 40 to also operate with the arm 15 superposed on the positioning body 13.
After adjustment is performed, template 33 or 330 is locked in place by screwing connecting member 40.
Figures 16 and 17 illustrate two limit positions that template 33 or 330 can assume in slot 14.
Preferably, the device 100 also comprises at least one of the projecting elements 17 and 18, indicated with 18, provided with removable positioning means 21, which act between at least one of the projecting elements 17, 18, i.e. the element 18 and the connecting arm 15, for modifying the position of this projecting element 18 with respect to the other projecting element 17 along the arm 15, so as to thereby change the sequence of configurations that can be adopted by the movable sash 3 (see fig. 5).
In other words, with the present solution, it is possible to modify the sequence of movements of opening the sash starting from the initial common closed position (obtained by the selector element 20 intercepting the projecting element 17).
In a first sequence option, the protruding element 18 is fixed in turn on the connecting arm 15 after the other protruding element 17 (see fig. 2, 4, 5, 6, 8, 9, 10 and 11), and a first rotation (about 90 °) of the handle 8a of the grip 8 causes the selector element 20 to slide along the groove 11 to intercept the protruding element 18, changing from the closed configuration to the rotated open configuration of the movable sash 3 (fig. 9 and 10).
Further turning of the handle 8a (further 90 deg.) causes the selector element 20 to slide further along the groove 11 to a position at the free area 19 to change from the rotated open to the tilted open of the movable sash 3 (fig. 11).
In a second order option, the projecting element 18 is moved to and fixed on the connecting arm 15 in a position further away from the further projecting element 17, i.e. this position was previously the position of the free area 19 (see fig. 3, 7, 12 and 13): in this case, the first rotation (about 90 °) of the handle 8a of the handle 8 causes the selector element 20 to slide along the groove 11 to be positioned at the free zone 19 to change from the closed configuration of the movable sash 3 to the tilted open configuration (fig. 13).
Further turning of the handle 8a (further 90 deg.) causes the selector element 20 to slide further along the groove 11 to intercept the projecting element 18, changing from the tilted opening to the rotated opening of the movable sash 3 (fig. 12).
Thus, due to this flexibility of positioning of the projecting element 18, it is possible to obtain, in a single mode of the connecting arm 15, two different operating sequences for the movable sash 3.
Preferably, the body 13 is configured to allow the slider 10 positioned under the body 13 to slide freely.
Again preferably, the positioning body 13 is partially housed in the recess 11 of the upper crosspiece 12 and is fixed in the adopted position on the crosspiece 12 using fixing means not shown.
It should be noted that the connecting arm 15 is equipped with a fixed projecting element 17 and at least two through holes 22, 23 spaced apart from each other, respectively forming a housing seat and a free zone 19 of the other projecting element 18 equipped with the removable positioning means 21, or vice versa.
Therefore, the connecting arm 15 is made to have this type of structure, regardless of the type of sequence that the operating device 100 has to perform.
It should be noted that the projecting element 17 is a pin irreversibly applied to the connecting arm 15, for example by pressing.
Preferably, the protruding element equipped with removable positioning means 21 is a pin 18 couplable in one of the through holes 22 or 23 of the arm 15.
In view of this, the pin 18 has a coupling seat 24 for a part of the above-mentioned positioning means 21, comprising a screwable fixing element 25 which can be coupled in the seat 24 of the pin 18 and can be positioned in a part of the holes 22, 23 of the connecting arm 15 after fixing.
Again preferably, the pin 18 comprises a head 26 provided with a pair of radial wings 27 and 28 opposite each other and provided with a rising outer profile starting from the centre of the pin 18.
In view of this, the wings 27 and 28 define another part of the removable positioning device 21.
In fact, the pair of wings 27 and 28 of the pin 18 can be coupled in one of the through holes 22, 23 of the positioning arm 15, which has a pair of radial (and through) grooves 29, 30 matching the wings 27 and 28, which can position and stabilize the pin 18 by means of an anti-rotation effect inside the holes 22 and 23.
In view of this, the connecting arm 15 is equipped with a pair of radial grooves 29, 30 for both holes 22 and 23.
In other words, the pin 18 is rapidly inserted from the bottom up into one of the holes 22 or 23 (depending on the chosen order) through the coupling between the wings 27 and 28 and the grooves 29 and 30, and is screwed locked by the fixing element 25 (from above).
Preferably, the selector element 20 has a central recess 31 configured to intercept, in sequence, a single projecting element 17, 18 or free zone 19 for each movement, by a controlled action of the handle 8.
In view of this, (see in particular fig. 9 to 13) the selector element 20 is a slidable plug integral with the slider 10.
The plug is equipped with two perpendicular walls 20a, 20b defining a central recess 31.
The groove 31 has an extension L31, calculated in a direction parallel to the extension of the groove 11, which is sufficient to intercept the individual components (projecting elements or free areas) present on the connecting arm 15 for each movement exerted by the handgrip 8a of the grip 8.
The preset aims are achieved thanks to the structure of the operating device.
More specifically, the presence of interchangeable protruding elements allows the device to flexibly select or modify the sequence of closing and movement of the sash on a single operating arm mode.
Furthermore, the presence of the template for adjusting the extension of the slot of the positioning body provides the generally same structural component of the device, but with the possibility of adjusting the width along which the pin of the arm slides and therefore also the opening degree of the sash in the inclined configuration.
