Description

Adapter and method for assembling a drawer
Technical Field
The invention relates to an adapter for fastening a base on a side frame of a drawer of a piece of furniture, having a first groove receiving channel, into which the base can be inserted between a first wall and a second wall, wherein at least one claw projects into the receiving channel in order to fasten the base, and to a method for assembling a drawer.
Background
DE 202014104925U 1 discloses a connecting device for two wall elements of a movable furniture part, which are arranged at an angle relative to each other, wherein two attachment sections are provided and wherein one of the attachment sections can be inserted into an opening of the wall element. The wall elements can thus be fixed to one another, wherein the holding force is rather low and rattling can occur if one of the wall elements is arranged with a gap due to tolerances. Furthermore, only two vertical wall elements can be connected using the connecting device.
Disclosure of Invention
It is therefore an object of the present invention to provide an adapter for fixing a bottom part on a side frame of a drawer for furniture, which enables simple assembly and reliable fixing of the bottom part and the side frame.
Furthermore, a corresponding assembly method will be provided.
This object is achieved by an adapter having the features of claim 1 and a method having the features of claim 13.
According to the invention, the adapter element has a first groove-shaped receiving channel for fixing the base, and furthermore a second groove-shaped receiving channel is provided on the adapter element, into which second groove-shaped receiving channel the rear wall can be inserted via the peripheral region and can be fixed by clamping by means of at least one claw. Thus, both the bottom and the rear wall can be assembled with the adapter in a simple manner, by inserting the bottom into the first receiving channel and the rear wall into the second receiving channel. Such a joining connection can also be carried out easily within the scope of automated manufacture. Furthermore, a stable fastening of the base wall and the rear wall to each receiving channel can be ensured by the at least one claw element.
Preferably, each jaw is formed to be bendable and to press in clamping manner against the bottom or rear wall. In this case, the claw members can be elastically deflected about an axis parallel to the longitudinal direction of the respective receiving channel to press in a clamping manner against the bottom wall or the rear wall in the assembled position.
In order to stably fix the bottom wall or the rear wall, the claw member may have one or more tips at the end, which may dig into the material. Since the bottom wall or the rear wall is usually made of a wooden material (e.g., MDF or HDF board), the tip can dig into the respective material and prevent the bottom wall or the rear wall from being pulled out.
The first receiving channel is preferably delimited by an upper wall and a lower wall, and the pawl element is arranged on the lower wall of the receiving channel and thus presses the bottom from below against the upper wall of the first receiving channel. Thus, the positioning of the bottom with respect to the first surface is precisely predetermined and thickness tolerances of the bottom can be compensated by the elasticity of the claw member.
Preferably, the claw members are each aligned obliquely relative to the walls of the receiving channels, wherein each receiving channel comprises two walls and a bottom wall. The claw is preferably web-shaped on one of the walls, wherein the angle of inclination between the claw and the wall is in the range between 15 ° and 45 °, preferably between 20 ° and 40 °, so that the claw can pivot during insertion of the bottom or rear wall. In this case, the inclinations of the claw members are aligned so that the tips are oriented towards the bottom wall of the respective receiving channel.
In another embodiment, the first and second receiving channels each have a substantially equal width. Thus, the same sheet-shaped material piece with the same width dimension can be used for the rear wall and the bottom, which simplifies production. Alternatively, panels of different widths or different materials may be used for the bottom and rear walls.
The adapter is preferably made of a bent metal plate, in particular of a single piece. In this case, the two receiving channels are aligned at an angle, in particular at a right angle, wherein the receiving channel for the rear wall is arranged behind the end of the receiving channel of the bottom, so that the rear wall at least partially covers the rear end wall of the bottom after assembly.
The claw member is preferably formed integrally with the adapter, wherein preferably a single piece of bent metal part is used as material. The claws may also be formed as a separate part from the adapter, wherein they may, however, alternatively also consist of a different material than the adapter, for example of spring steel. For this purpose, the claw is fixed to the adapter by means of a connecting device.
In the drawer according to the invention, the adapter is preferably arranged in a side frame, on which a connecting section is formed, to which the web of the side frame is fixed, so that it is stably fixed to the adapter.
In the method according to the invention, the bottom is first positioned on the first recess-receiving channel and the rear wall is positioned on the second recess-receiving channel of the adapter, and subsequently the bottom is inserted into the first receiving channel and the rear wall into the second receiving channel by means of a relative movement, preferably the insertion of the bottom wall and the rear wall takes place simultaneously. For assembly, movement of the adapter towards the bottom and the rear wall and vice versa, movement of the rear wall and the bottom towards the adapter is possible, so that only relative movement is important.

Detailed Description
The drawer 1 comprises a plate-shaped bottom 2 and a plate-shaped rear wall 3, which are made of, for example, a wood material such as MDF or HDF board. The side frames 5 are provided on both sides of the bottom part 2. The front panel on the side opposite to the rear wall 3 is omitted in fig. 1. In the front region, the side frame 5 has a hollow chamber 4, on which hollow chamber 4 a fastening mechanism for the front panel can be arranged.
In fig. 2, the side frames 5 are removed from the bottom 2 and the rear wall 3. It will be appreciated that the base 2 is secured to the rear adapter 6 and two further adapters 7. The side frame 5 includes an outer wall 50, an upper edge 51 and an inner wall 52. In this case, the outer wall 50 protrudes to the rear beyond the inner wall 52, as shown in fig. 3. The inner wall 52 is formed shorter and the rear wall 3 is pressed with the front side against the end side of the inner wall 52, while the upper edge 51 and the outer edge 50 enclose the end face of the rear wall 3. Furthermore, the wall 20 of the adapter 7 engages behind the rear side of the rear wall 3.
The fixing of the bottom 2 and the rear wall 3 on the adapter 6 is shown in fig. 4 to 6. The adapter 6, which is made of a bent metal plate, in particular a steel plate, comprises a first receiving channel 9, wherein an edge of the bottom 2 is inserted into the first receiving channel 9. Furthermore, a second receiving channel 8, which surrounds the peripheral region of the rear wall 3, is arranged at right angles thereto and is offset to the rear. A claw 10 projecting obliquely upwards is formed on the first receiving channel 9 on a lower wall 14, which claw 10 presses in a clamping manner against the underside of the base 2 and presses the base 2 against an upper wall 13 of the receiving channel 9. In this case, the upper wall 13 acts as a support against the elastic action of the claw member 10. In a similar manner, the rear wall 3 is fixed in a clamping manner by means of a claw 11, which is formed on a rear wall 20 of the receiving channel 8 and presses the rear wall 3 against a wall 18, which wall 18 is arranged on the front side of the receiving channel 8 relative to the drawer 1. The adapter 6 is in this case arranged in the side frame 5, wherein the outer wall 50 of the side frame 5 is connected to the adapter 6, for example by adhesive bonding or welding, using a bent web 53 on the connecting section 21 formed on the adapter 6. In this case, the connecting sections 21 are not formed continuously on the longitudinal sides of the adapter 6, but only in some regions, preferably only as connecting sections 21 in the middle region of the respective adapter 6, wherein the width dimension is less than one third of the total width of the adapter 6. The inner wall 52 of the side frame 5 is inclined downwards towards the bottom 2 and is fixed by being clamped between the upper side of the bottom 2 and the upper wall 13 of the receiving channel 9, so that the adapter 6 also serves to fix the side frame 5.
Fig. 7A and 7B show an exemplary embodiment in which, instead of the plate-like rear wall 3 made of a wooden material, a modified rear wall 3' made of a bent steel plate is assembled with the adapter 6. The other components of the drawer 1 are unchanged, in particular the adapter 6 is designed as in the exemplary embodiment described above. The rear wall 3' engages with the end section in the receiving channel 8 of the adapter 6, but is fixed there using an additional clamping element 30, as shown in fig. 8, due to the significantly smaller thickness. The clamping element 30 is formed in the shape of a rod and is inserted into the receiving channel 8 such that the claw 11 secures the clamping element 30 and the edge of the rear wall 3' in the receiving channel 8 by clamping. For this purpose, the clamping element 30 can either be connected to the rear wall 3 in a form-fitting manner or can be loosely attached. Thus, the clamping element 30 can be used to compensate for thickness differences on the rear wall.
Fig. 9 shows an alternative embodiment of the rear wall 3 ", which is fixed to the adapter 6 without additional clamping elements 30. For this purpose, the rear wall 3 ″ is bent into a U shape on the end face end 31 and comprises a leg 32, the leg 32 having a groove-shaped contour 33, in which groove-shaped contour 33 the claw 11 of the receiving channel 8 engages. The rear wall 3 ″ can thus be fixed in a clamping manner in the clamping channel 8 by means of the claw 11 via the U-shaped bent end.
For assembly of the drawer, the side frame 5 is positioned on the holder 40, as schematically shown in fig. 10. The angled holder 40 comprises a plurality of holding elements 41 distributed in the longitudinal direction of the side frame 5, which have one or more web-like blades 42 which can be inserted between the outer wall 50 of the side frame 5 and the bottom wall 12 of the receiving channel 9 on the adapters 6 and 7. The spacing dimension of the web-like vanes 42 is chosen such that it is equal to or slightly larger than the width dimension of the connecting section 21. In this case, the adapter 7 is formed similarly to the adapter 6, except for the region of the rear receiving channel 8, which is not present in the adapter 7. The rear holding element 41, i.e. the rear holding element 41 facing the rear wall 3, also has an additional web-shaped blade 43, which has larger dimensions in width and height than the other blades 42. The height of which is adjusted according to the height of the rear wall 3, so that during the connection process during assembly, pressure can also be exerted on the area of the claw members 11 projecting into the receiving channel 8.
As shown in fig. 11A, 11B and 12A, 12B, to assemble the drawer, the bottom 2 is positioned adjacent to the receiving channels 9 on the adapters 7 and 6, and the rear wall 3 is positioned adjacent to the receiving channels 8 on the opposite adapter 6. By means of the relative movement between the adapters 6 and 7 and the base 2 and the rear wall 3, the peripheral region of each of the base 2 and the rear wall 3 can be inserted into the receiving channels 8 and 9, wherein in the exemplary embodiment shown the holder 40 moves together with the adapters 6 and 7 and the base 2 and the rear wall 3 can be held stationary. It is of course also possible to reverse the movement and to move the bottom 2 and the rear wall 3 or both relative to each other. The relative movement between the adapters 6 and 7 and the bottom 2 and the rear wall 3 is preferably performed simultaneously and preferably in an automated manufacturing. However, assembly may also be performed in successive assembly steps in automated or manual manufacturing. During this assembly movement, the web-like blades 42 on the holder 40 ensure the required contact pressure to insert the edges of the bottom 2 and the rear wall 3 into the receiving channels 8 and 9. For this purpose, the respective web-like blades 42 each comprise a connecting section 21 formed on the adapter 6. Furthermore, the spatial separation between the outer wall 50 and the adapter 6 is achieved by the interposition of the web-like blades 42 and the blades 43 of larger dimensions, so that no damage to the outer wall 50, which serves as a visible surface, occurs as a result of the bottom 2 being pressed into the receiving channel 9. In this case, the jaws 10 and 11 are each aligned angularly with respect to the bottom of the container channel, elastically bent, so as to ensure the clamping fixation of the bottom 2 and of the rear wall 3.
Of course, the assembly can also be such that the side frames 5 are pushed by pressure onto the respective outer walls 50 on the bottom 2 and the rear wall 3. In this case, the connecting section 21 can be omitted, so that the outer wall 50 is in direct contact on the adapter 6.
Fig. 13 shows a drawer 1 with a bottom 2 and a rear wall 3 assembled on a side frame 5, wherein in the assembled position the adapters 6 and 7 are not visible from the front. Furthermore, a pull-out guide 60 is assembled with each side frame 5, the pull-out guide 60 including a holding corner 61 fixable to a furniture body or a body of a home appliance.
Fig. 14 shows a section through the drawer 1, from which the arrangement of the pull-out guide 60 and the bottom 2 can be seen. The pull-out guide 60 comprises an upper slide 62 which is supported on the underside of the base 2. The slide rail 62 is movable on a fixed rail, which is formed integrally with the holding angle 61, by means of the roller body and the intermediate rail. The adapter 6 secures the edge of the base 2 by means of the receiving channel 9, wherein the claw 10 presses the base 2 in a clamping manner from below against the upper wall 13 of the receiving channel 9, wherein the angular web 54 of the inner wall 52 of the side frame 5 is also secured between the upper wall 13 and the upper side of the base 2. The side frame 5 is fixed to the outer wall 50 on the connecting section 21 of the angular web 53, so that the adapter 6 additionally serves for fixing the side frame 5.
Fig. 15 shows a modified embodiment of the drawer in the side area, in which the pull-out guide 60 is no longer arranged below the bottom 2 but inside the side frame 5. For this reason, the side frame 5 has a hollow chamber formed to be slightly wider, and therefore the upper edge 51' is wider than in the previous exemplary embodiment. Furthermore, the outer wall 50 of the side frame 5 is no longer connected to the adapter 6, but to a connecting element 65, which connecting element 65 rests on the sliding rail of the pull-out guide 60. The pull-out guide 60 is therefore arranged particularly protected. Furthermore, as described above, the bottom 2 is fixed in the receiving channel 9, and the rear wall 3 is fixed in the receiving channel 8 of the adapter 6.
Fig. 16 shows the adapter 6 in detail. The adapter 6 comprises a receiving channel 9 for the bottom 2, on which two web-shaped claws 10 project at an angle, the two web-shaped claws 10 having at the ends a plurality of tips 16, which tips 16 can dig into the material of the bottom 2. The claw member 10 is in this case aligned towards a bottom wall 12 of the receiving channel 9, which bottom wall 12 is formed between an upper wall 13 and a lower wall 14. A vertical web 15 is formed on the lower wall 14 and the claw member 10 is formed on the vertical web 15. An embossing for forming the connecting section 21 is provided on the bottom wall 12 of the receiving channel 9, to which connecting section 21 the outer wall 50 of the side frame 5 can be fixed.
The adapter is manufactured as a one-piece bent metal part, wherein the lower receiving channel 9 is formed integrally with the wall 17, and the receiving channel 8 for fixing the rear wall 3 adjoins the wall 17 on the rear side. The receiving channel 8 comprises a front wall 18 and a rear wall 20, the front wall 18 and the rear wall 20 being connected to one another via a bottom wall 19, the bottom wall 19 forming a step and forming an end-side stop for the rear wall 3. The claw members 11 are formed on the rear wall 20, are also web-shaped and are aligned obliquely with respect to the bottom wall 19. A plurality of tips 16 are also formed on the claw member 11.
The claw members 10, 11 can also be formed as separate components from the adapter 6, wherein alternatively they can also be formed from a different material than the adapter 6, for example from spring steel. For this purpose, the claw is fixed by means of a connection on the adapter 6.
