Such round steel tube bars are often connected to other load bearing members of the lightweight steel structure using the following means:
a) A seal head plate is welded at the end part, four holes are directly formed in the seal head plate, and the seal head plate is connected with the holes in the web plate of the main steel structural member in a penetrating way by bolts (shown in figure 1 a); the connecting method has difficult operation during construction, and has high requirements on size control of components and space control of steel frame installation, so that the connecting method is abandoned;
b) A sealing head plate is welded at the end part, a vertical connecting plate is welded in the middle of the back surface, holes are formed in the connecting plate, and the connecting plate is connected with an overhanging node plate (stiffening rib) on the main steel structure by bolts (shown in figure 1 b); the method is a common practice at present, and the strength of the joint welding seam between the end closure plate and the pipe and the buckling strength of the end closure plate are calculated in design;

The flattening of the steel pipe head is processed on a flywheel energy storage or hydraulic punching machine. The processing technology diagram is shown in figure 3. However, after the processing and manufacturing, the flattened head is deviated to one side, and the axis of the flattened head is not aligned with the axis of the length of the steel pipe, as shown in fig. 4, so that the member cannot be smoothly connected with connecting plates on other bearing members after being obtained on site, and the member can be used after being modified.
