Detailed Description
Fig. 1 shows a prior art solution, wherein an elevated bed comprises a bedframe 10, a bedrail 20 and four bedposts. Each bed column includes a bottom portion 110 and an upper portion 120. The upper portion 120 includes bolt or screw holes 124, 126 adapted to receive bolts or screws for securing the bed frame 10 and the bed rail 20 to the upper portion 120. The bolt or screw holes 124, 126 extend transversely to the longitudinal direction of the upper part 120 and have an inlet on the outer surface of the upper part 120 and an outlet on the opposite surface side. The bottom portion 110 and the upper portion 120 are linearly connected by an elongated member (not shown) that is positioned partially within the channel of the bottom portion 110 and partially within the channel of the bed frame connecting portion 120. The elongated member comprises at each end a bolt hole or a screw hole extending transversely to the longitudinal direction of the elongated member. The bottom portion 110 and the upper portion 120 of the bed column comprise bolt holes or screw holes 112, 122 extending transversely to the longitudinal direction of the bottom portion 110 and the upper portion 120 and terminating in a channel. Screws or bolts are inserted into the screw holes or bolt holes 112 or 122 and further into the bolt holes or screw holes of the elongated members positioned within the channels, thereby securing the bottom portion 110, elongated members and upper portion 120 to each other. This configuration yields a left and right bed column.
Fig. 2 shows a solution according to the invention, wherein the elevated bed comprises a bedframe 10, a bedrail 20 and four bedposts 100. Each bedpost 100 includes a bottom portion 110, a bedrail attachment portion 130, and a bedframe attachment portion 120. The bottom portion 110, the bedrail connecting portion 130 and the bedframe connecting portion 120 are linearly connected by two elongated members (not shown). A first one of the elongated members is adapted to be positioned partially within a channel (extending parallel to the longitudinal direction of the bottom portion 110) in an upper portion of the bottom portion 110 and partially within a channel (extending parallel to the longitudinal direction of the bed frame connection portion 120) in a lower portion of the bed frame connection portion 120. A second one of the elongated members is adapted to be positioned partially within a channel (extending parallel to the longitudinal direction of the bed frame connection portion 120) in an upper portion of the bed frame connection portion 120 and partially within a channel (extending parallel to the longitudinal direction of the bed rail connection portion 130) in a lower portion of the bed rail connection portion 130.
Fig. 3 shows a disassembled elongated member 140 comprising a first portion 142 and a second portion 146. The first part 142 comprises a bolt hole or screw hole 143 extending transversely to the longitudinal direction of the first part 142 and a threaded channel 144 extending parallel to the longitudinal direction of the first part 142. The second portion 146 comprises a bolt hole or screw hole 147 extending transversely to the longitudinal direction of the second portion 146 and a threaded shaft 148 adapted to engage with the threaded passage 144 of the first portion 142. This arrangement allows the distance between the bolt holes or screw holes 143, 147 to be adjusted. An optional washer 149 adapted to be positioned about the threaded shaft 148 is also shown. The washer 149 reinforces the connection between the first and second portions 142, 146 where clearance is required to adjust the distance between the bolt or screw holes 143, 147.
Fig. 4 shows a view from the outer surface (left) and a view from the inner surface (right) of the marked section of the elevated bed in fig. 2. It can be seen that there are no bolt holes or bolt holes on the outer surface, which significantly increases the aesthetic appearance of the elevated bed. Furthermore, all bed poles are identical, thereby avoiding the need to produce left and right bed poles and making it easier to assemble the elevated bed.
To fasten the elongated member to the column part, the bolt or screw is positioned by screwing it through a bolt hole or screw hole in the column part and a bolt hole or screw hole in the elongated member. In fig. 4, bolt or screw holes 122, 132 are shown. Which extend transversely to the longitudinal direction of the bedpost sections 120, 130, respectively, and terminate in the passage of the bedpost sections 120, 130, respectively.
In fig. 5, the bed frame connection portion 120 and the bed rail connection portion 130 are partially disconnected, showing the first portion 142 of the elongated member with bolt holes or screw holes 143 aligned with the bolt holes or screw holes 132 of the bed rail connection portion 130 when the two column sections are fully assembled.
Fig. 6 shows the assembled elongated member 140 including the first portion 142, the second portion 146, and the washer 149. Two different types of screws or bolts 150, 151 are inserted into the bolt holes or screw holes.
Fig. 7 shows the bed rail attachment portion 130 detached from the attachment bed rail plate, thereby exposing fastening means 133 (elongated members with bolt holes or screw holes), 134 (pins). The fastening means 131, 132 are positioned in a channel terminating in the bedrail connecting portion 130. Corresponding channels 123, 125 are present in the bed frame connection 120, as shown in fig. 8.
