Description

Data updating method of consumable chip, consumable container and computer readable storage medium
Technical Field
The invention relates to the field of printing, in particular to a consumable chip installed on a printing consumable, a data updating method of the consumable chip, a consumable container installed with the consumable chip and a computer readable storage medium for realizing the same.
Background
The printer is used as common office equipment, and great convenience is provided for modern office. The existing printers are classified into inkjet printers and laser printers, and the inkjet printers use an ink cartridge containing ink as a consumable container to spray ink to paper so as to form characters or patterns to be printed on the paper; the laser printer uses a toner cartridge containing carbon powder as a consumable container to form characters or patterns to be printed on a medium.
Referring to fig. 1, a conventional color inkjet printer has a cabinet 11, and the inkjet printer shown in fig. 1 omits a tray of the cabinet 11. The casing 11 is provided with a movement 12 of the ink jet printer and with a slide along which a carriage 14 is driven by a motor (not visible in fig. 1). An adapter plate (not visible in fig. 1) is provided in the carriage 14, and communicates with the movement 12 via the flat cable 13.
A plurality of ink cartridges 15 are detachably mounted on the carriage 14, and different ink cartridges 15 contain different color inks. The structure of the ink cartridge 15 is shown in fig. 2. The ink cartridge 15 has a casing 16, the casing 16 encloses a cavity for accommodating ink, an ink outlet 17 is provided at the lower end of the cavity, and the ink in the cavity flows out through the ink outlet 17 and supplies ink to an ink supply needle of the printing carriage 14.
A chip 18 is mounted on the outer wall of the housing 16 of the cartridge 15, the chip 18 having a base plate with a plurality of electrical contacts 19 on one side for electrical connection to the adapter plate. The other side of the substrate is provided with an integrated circuit (not visible in fig. 2) electrically connected to the electrical contacts 19.
Referring to fig. 3, the integrated circuit is provided with a control unit 21 and a memory 22, wherein the control unit 21 can be electrically connected to the electrical contacts 19, and the control unit 21 receives information from the ink jet printer and sends information to be sent to the ink jet printer via the electrical contacts 19. The control unit 21 includes an analog circuit including a clock circuit for generating a clock signal, a drive circuit, and the like, and a digital circuit including a single chip microcomputer or a logic circuit, and the like.
The memory 22 includes a nonvolatile memory 23 and a volatile memory 24, the nonvolatile memory 23 is usually an EEPROM or a FLASH, and stores information related to the ink cartridge, including variable information and invariable information, the variable information is information that is constantly changed with the printing operation, such as the remaining amount of ink, the printing duration, the number of printed sheets, and the invariable information is information that is not changed with the printing operation, such as the type of the ink cartridge, the type of an applicable inkjet printer, and the color of ink. The volatile memory 24 is a memory such as an SRAM, which has a high read/write speed and temporarily stores data written to the consumable chip by the inkjet printer. Since the data stored in the volatile memory 24 will be lost after the power is lost, the data stored in the volatile memory needs to be transferred to the non-volatile memory 23 in time when the power is lost.
After the ink cartridge 15 is mounted to the carriage 14 of the ink jet printer, the ink jet printer powers up the chip 18 and reads the data stored in the memory of the chip 18 to determine whether the ink cartridge 15 is of the proper type, whether the amount of ink remaining in the ink cartridge 15 is sufficient, and the like. The ink jet printer can perform the printing operation only after the ink cartridge 15 is judged to be of a proper type and the ink cartridge 15 contains sufficient ink.
With the development of technology, manufacturers of ink jet printers often need to update the firmware of the ink jet printers, or update the communication mode and communication data between the printers and the chips, so that the data stored in the chip 18 also needs to be updated appropriately to meet the needs of the communication between the printers and the chips.
However, the manufacturer of the ink cartridge is not the manufacturer of the printer, for example, the manufacturer of the compatible ink cartridge often just manufactures and sells the compatible ink cartridge, but does not manufacture the printer, so the manufacturer of the compatible ink cartridge only learns that the communication data between the printer and the chip has been updated after the firmware of the ink jet printer is updated, the chip manufactured by the manufacturer of the compatible ink cartridge cannot be recognized by the ink jet printer after the firmware is updated, and the data of the chip needs to be rewritten and then can be recognized by the printer, which results in that the ink cartridge of the manufacturer of the compatible ink cartridge cannot be used in the printer after the firmware is updated.
On the other hand, once compatible ink cartridges produced by compatible ink cartridge manufacturers are put on the market in large quantities, data updating processing needs to be performed on the compatible ink cartridges, which brings great disadvantages to the production of the compatible ink cartridge manufacturers.
Referring to fig. 4, the conventional toner cartridge has a housing 31, the housing 31 encloses a cavity for accommodating toner, a chip mounting location 32 is disposed on an outer wall of the housing, and a chip 33 is mounted on the chip mounting location 32. The chip 33 of the toner cartridge, like the chip of the ink cartridge, also has a substrate on which electrical contacts 34 are provided as a communication unit for data exchange with the laser printer. In addition, an integrated circuit electrically connected to the electrical contact 34 is provided on the other side of the substrate, and an interface unit, a control unit, a nonvolatile memory, a volatile memory, a power supply unit, and the like are also provided on the integrated circuit, and for the same reason, the chip 33 has a problem that power supply to the memory is insufficient after power supply to the laser printer is stopped, which affects data transfer operation, and affects printing operation of the laser printer.
In addition, all detachably install cartridge or carbon powder section of thick bamboo as the consumptive material container on the imaging equipment such as present most duplicator, fax or all-in-one, the consumptive material container has the cavity that holds the carbon powder, and sets up the chip on the outer wall of consumptive material container, these chips also have the same problem with the chip of ink horn, in case firmware such as duplicator, fax is updated the back, the data of chip can not be discerned by duplicator, fax, influences the use of consumptive material containers such as cartridge.

Of course, if the ink jet printer and the consumable chip are in wireless communication, the communication unit is an antenna for wireless communication. On the other surface of the substrate there is an electronic module connected to the electrical contacts, the electronic module comprising an integrated circuit.
Referring to fig. 5, a control unit 41 is disposed in the integrated circuit of this embodiment, preferably, the control unit 41 may be a single chip MCU, or may also be a digital signal processor DSP, and the control unit 41 is configured to process a signal sent by an imaging device such as a printer, and may also control data reading and writing of the memory 42.
The memory 42 of the present embodiment may include a nonvolatile memory, which is an EEPROM (electrically erasable and programmable read only memory) or a FLASH memory, and stores data related to the ink cartridge and the ink, including the type of the ink cartridge, the type of the applicable inkjet printer, the color of the ink contained in the ink cartridge, the remaining amount of the ink in the ink cartridge, and the like.
In the present embodiment, the memory 42 includes a universal code storage area 43 and an update data storage area 44, wherein the universal code storage area 43 is used for storing universal codes of a plurality of consumable chips, such as a cartridge manufacturer code, a cartridge production date, a cartridge model, an application area, a total printing amount, a consumed printing page number, an available ink remaining amount in the cartridge, an initial printing time of the cartridge, a previous printing operation time, and the like. And the update data storage area 44 is used to store updated data, which is data matched with the updated firmware after the firmware of the inkjet printer is updated in the present embodiment.
In addition, the electronic module of the cartridge chip further includes a network communication module 45 and a wireless communication module 46, and the network communication module 45 may be a module for implementing network communication, such as a 4G module or a WIFI module, for connecting to the internet and implementing data transmission. And the wireless communication module 46 may be a module for performing wireless data transmission with a specific terminal device, such as a bluetooth module or an infrared module, a wireless radio frequency signal transceiving module, and the like.
The embodiment of the data updating method of the consumable chip comprises the following steps:
the data updating method of the consumable chip is described below with reference to fig. 6 and 7. First, step S1 is executed, and the consumable chip receives a signal output by the imaging device. After the consumable container is mounted to the imaging device, the imaging device will send a signal to the consumable chip, for example, apply a voltage to the electrical contacts on the consumable chip, after detecting that the consumable container is mounted in place. At this time, the control unit of the consumable chip receives a voltage signal sent by the printer through the electrical contact.
Then, step S2 is executed to determine whether the image forming apparatus needs to receive preset data according to the signal sent by the image forming apparatus. Because imaging device is after sending data to the consumptive material chip, need the consumptive material chip to the imaging device feedback data, for example to data such as model, consumptive material colour that imaging device sent the consumptive material container. After the imaging device is initially shipped, the signal sent by the imaging device to the consumable chip usually has a specific characteristic, such as a specific voltage or a specific frequency of the communication signal. However, when the firmware of the imaging device is updated, the signal characteristics sent by the imaging device to the consumable chip will change, such as the voltage or frequency. At this time, the control unit of the consumable chip can determine whether the firmware of the imaging device is updated according to the change of the voltage signal sent by the imaging device.
If the firmware of the imaging device is updated, the data sent to the imaging device should be preset data, and the preset data of the embodiment is data sent to the imaging device according to the corresponding requirement after the firmware of the imaging device is updated. For example, before the firmware of the imaging device is updated, the consumable chip can realize communication with the imaging device only by sending initial data to the imaging device, but after the firmware of the imaging device is updated, communication with the imaging device can be realized only by sending updated data, that is, preset data, to the imaging device.
Therefore, in step S2, it can be determined whether it is necessary to transmit preset data to the imaging device by acquiring a signal of the imaging device. If the firmware of the imaging device is not updated, and there is no need to transmit the preset data to the imaging device, step S3 is performed to obtain initial data from the memory of the consumable chip and transmit the obtained initial data to the imaging device. Since the firmware of the imaging device is not updated, the initial data is sent to the imaging device, and the communication between the consumable chip and the imaging device can be ensured.
If the firmware of the image forming apparatus has been updated, step S4 is performed to determine whether preset data, that is, data satisfying the communication requirement of the image forming apparatus of the updated firmware, is stored in the memory, and if so, step S10 is performed to acquire the stored preset data and transmit the preset data to the image forming apparatus. Preferably, the preset data stored by the memory is data obtained from a remote server, and the data obtained from the remote server is stored in the memory of the consumable chip. After the consumable chip acquires and stores the updating data, the updating data is marked, so that after the firmware updating of the imaging device is confirmed, the updating data is sent to the imaging device without performing the operation of updating the data again.
If the preset data is not stored in the memory, step S5 is executed to obtain information of the imaging device, for example, to read information such as the model and manufacturer of the imaging device from a preset storage unit in the memory of the imaging device. Then, step S6 is performed to transmit the information of the image forming apparatus to the remote server, and step S7 is performed to acquire the update data from the remote server and store the update data in the memory, specifically, the update data storage area 44.
There are three ways for obtaining the update data in this embodiment, and the three ways are obtained through terminal devices such as a mobile phone, or directly obtained from a cloud server, or directly obtained from a server of a consumable chip service provider. A specific acquisition method is described below with reference to fig. 7.
First, step S11 is executed to determine whether a connection to a preset terminal device is made through the wireless communication module. For example, set up bluetooth module on the consumptive material chip, when needs acquire the renewal data, bluetooth module on the consumptive material chip and the bluetooth module of preset terminal equipment are shaken hands and are connected to realize consumptive material chip and terminal equipment's wireless communication. And, a preset application, such as an application dedicated to data update, is installed and run on the terminal device.
If the consumable chip is connected to the preset terminal device through the wireless communication module, step S12 is executed, and the consumable chip sends the information of the imaging device to the terminal device, so that the terminal device obtains which type of imaging device is from which manufacturer the data to be updated is. Then, the terminal device executes step S13 to send the acquired information of the imaging device to a remote server, for example, the remote server may be a cloud server or a server of a consumable chip service provider. And after the remote server acquires the information of the imaging equipment, determining the required acquired updating data according to the acquired information of the imaging equipment, and sending the required updating data to the terminal equipment.
Then, step S14 is executed, and the terminal device receives the update data sent by the remote server and sends the acquired update data to the consumable chip through the bluetooth module, so that the consumable chip receives the required update data.
If the consumable chip is not connected to the terminal device through a wireless communication module such as a bluetooth module, step S15 is executed to determine whether an instruction for sending the imaging device information to a remote server is required, for example, according to a computer program stored in the memory, the control unit determines whether the instruction is to send the acquired imaging device information to a preset remote server, such as a cloud server of a predetermined address or a server of a consumable chip service provider. Therefore, the initial data of the consumable chip comprises the address of the cloud server or the server of the consumable chip service provider, which needs to acquire the updated data.
And after the remote server acquires the information of the molding equipment, acquiring the updating data corresponding to the imaging equipment, and sending the acquired updating data to the consumable chip. Therefore, if the determination result of step S15 is yes, step S16 is executed to receive the update data sent by the remote server and write the received update data into the memory. Preferably, the consumable chip transmits information of the image forming apparatus to a remote server through a network communication module, and receives the update data through the network communication module.
If the determination result in the step S15 is negative, step S17 is executed to send a prompt message indicating that the data update fails, for example, an audible and visual alarm message is sent through an LED lamp or a buzzer arranged on the consumable chip.
After the consumable chip acquires the update data, step S8 is executed to acquire the imaging device information in the update data. Since each set of update data corresponds to one type of image forming apparatus, information of the corresponding image forming apparatus, such as a brand name, a model number, and the like of the image forming apparatus, needs to be included in the update data. Therefore, in step S8, the imaging device information contained in the update data is acquired. Preferably, the imaging device information is stored in a preset position of the update data or has a specific mark, and the consumable chip obtains the imaging device information in the update data from the preset position or according to the specific mark.
Then, step S9 is executed to determine whether the program device information in the update data coincides with the imaging device information acquired from the imaging device. Since the consumable chip acquires information of the imaging device in step S5, that is, the information such as the model number of the imaging device is acquired from the memory of the imaging device, step S9 is to compare the imaging device information acquired in step S5 with the imaging device information acquired in step S8, and determine whether the two are identical. If the data match, it indicates that the currently acquired update data is correct, step S10 is executed to send the acquired update data to the image forming apparatus as the preset data, so that the image forming apparatus can identify the consumable container after receiving the update data.
If the judgment result in the step S9 is negative, the step S20 is executed, and the consumable chip sends alarm information, for example, an LED lamp or a buzzer, and the data updating is failed.
Therefore, the consumable chip can actively judge whether the firmware of the imaging device is updated, and autonomously acquire corresponding update data after the firmware of the imaging device is updated, for example, by sending the information of the imaging device to a remote server, or acquiring the update data through a preset terminal device. Therefore, compatible consumable container manufacturers do not need to recall the consumable containers, and the data updating of the consumable chips can be realized in an online data updating mode.
