DE 102010063014 a1 describes an operating panel, preferably for a household appliance, in particular for a washing machine, a washer dryer or a laundry dryer, for determining an at least partially automatically operating laundry treatment process, wherein the operating panel has a protruding configuration in the form of a panel-like structure with respect to a housing of the household appliance, wherein a panel base body is provided to which a cover, which surrounds the panel base body almost completely, can be attached.
DE 10051075 a1 describes a method for producing different operating panels for household appliances, in particular for cooking appliances, laundry treatment appliances, dish washing machines or cold storage appliances and/or freezer appliances, in which method:
a) providing mutually identical, pre-fabricated panel carriers,
b) at least two differently shaped panel coverings are provided,
c) each of the provided panel covers is secured to the front surface of one of the provided panel carriers, respectively.
The panels described in the prior art are in part of very complex construction and can be produced in only a plurality of steps, wherein in particular also tools suitable for the desired panel have to be used. Furthermore, for the production of different household appliances, it is desirable to have a panel adapted to the household appliance and in particular also to the installation site thereof. This however results in a large number of necessary panels and panel variants.
The operating panel is usually provided with a coating, for example a light-impermeable lacquer coating, in order to display information, to make certain parts of the household appliance invisible to the user, and/or to protect the surface of the operating panel, primarily when a transparent panel base is used. Depending on the provided control panel comprising the display, the insulation effort for producing the coated control panel can be very high, in order not to negatively influence the function of the control elements and the display elements.
Disclosure of Invention
Against this background, the object of the present invention is to provide a method for producing a coated plastic panel, which allows a simplified production of a plurality of different plastic panels, which can also be used in particular as operating panels. Furthermore, the object of the invention is to provide such a coated plastic panel and a household appliance comprising such a coated plastic panel.
According to the invention, the solution of this object is achieved by a method for producing a coated plastic panel, a coated plastic panel and a household appliance comprising the coated plastic panel having the corresponding features of the invention. Preferred embodiments of the method according to the invention, of the plastic panel according to the invention and of the household appliance comprising the plastic panel are specified in the corresponding claims. Preferred embodiments of the method according to the invention, of the plastic panel according to the invention and of the domestic appliance comprising the plastic panel correspond here to one another, also when this is not described in detail.
The subject of the invention is thus a method for manufacturing a coated plastic panel, comprising the following steps:
(a) providing a plastic body composed of an at least partially transparent plastic;
(b) applying a first lacquer layer, which blocks light, to the surface of the plastic body;
(c) applying a second paint layer over the light blocking first paint layer of step (b), wherein the second paint layer is light transmissive to the first paint layer; and
(d) coated partial surface T of a surface by means of infrared laser radiationCAnd internally removing the second paint layer.
In a preferred embodiment of the process according to the invention, step (e) is carried out:
(e) by means of infrared laser radiation on part of surface TCLower surface T ofC1The first paint layer is removed.
In the method according to the invention, the second lacquer layer is more transparent than the first lacquer layer. This can be achieved, for example, by the second lacquer layer being thinner than the first lacquer layer and/or being made of a material of lower optical density.
In a preferred embodiment of the process according to the invention, step (a) is followed by step (a 1):
(a1) applying a coloured plastic film to the uncoated partial surface T of the surface of the plastic bodyFThe above. The colored plastic film is usually designed such that it can be permanently adhered to the surface of the plastic body. In this embodiment, it is preferable that in step (ii)(e) In said partial surface TCAt least partially on part of surface TFIn (1). This means in particular that the lacquer layer on the colored plastic film can be removed in a targeted manner in such a way that symbols, characters and other markings can be displayed thereby, which symbols, characters and other markings can then be seen in the color of the colored plastic film. Depending on the coloration of the colored plastic film, different symbols, characters and other markings can be displayed.
Advantageously, in this embodiment in step (e) the partial surface TCLocated wholly on part of surface TFIn (1).
Generally the coated plastic film according to the invention is illuminated from behind by one or more light sources. The painted representation of the symbol or the like can then be more highlighted by illumination.
In a particularly preferred embodiment of the process according to the invention, step (a2) is carried out following step (a) or (a 1):
(a2) applying a covering film to the uncoated partial surface T of the surface of the plastic bodyKWherein the cover film comprises a release film and has a side profile;
steps (d1) and (d2) are typically followed in time after step (c):
(d1) removing the first and second lacquer layers applied in steps (b) and (c) along the side contour by means of infrared laser radiation; and
(d2) and removing the removable film.
It may be preferable to apply an uncoated partial surface T of the surface after step (d2) in terms of timeKThe laser radiation is partially applied until a predetermined change in the light transmission is achieved there. In particular, this makes it possible to coat uncoated partial surfaces TKOpaque characters, symbols and other indicia are displayed therein.
When a step is carried out "after a further step in time" in this context, this means that the step is carried out directly or indirectly after the further step.
In a preferred embodiment of the method according to the invention, the cover film is formed by a release film in the case of a cover film. However, the use of a cover film makes it possible to realize other advantageous design possibilities.
Therefore, in the case of using a cover film, it is preferable to use a cover film which is a laminate of a release film and at least one other film, wherein the release film has an adhesive force F after step (a2)1Adhering to the remaining laminate of at least one further film, the adhesion force being less than the adhesion force F between the plastic body and the film lying thereon2And if necessary less than the adhesion force F between the further filmsn-2Wherein n is the number of films in the laminate.
According to the invention, it is preferred that in step (d1) the first and second lacquer layer and, if present, further layers are removed along the side contour (12) within a width of 0.2 to 1mm, preferably 0.3 to 0.8mm, in particular 0.4 to 0.7 mm. It is to be noted that in this way, in the case of the use of a plurality of lacquer layers, the release film can be removed easily and reliably. The lacquer layer can be removed here only on the film or also partially on the coated surface of the plastic body. Preferably, 25 to 50% of the total removal width of the lacquer layer, in particular of the first and second lacquer layer, is removed on the coated surface of the plastic body.
The plastic body is not restricted according to the invention, as long as sufficient transparency is achieved and properties matched to the respective purpose of use can be achieved. The term "plastic body" as used herein therefore means, in particular, that the plastic body consists essentially of plastic. Whereby e.g. metals or inorganic/organic compounds may be included to some extent in the plastic body. The plastic content present in the plastic body may consist of any plastic, as long as partial transparency is achieved and the plastic is suitable for use in a plastic panel. However, it is preferred according to the invention that the plastic body comprises or consists of a plastic selected from the group consisting of Styrene Acrylonitrile (SAN) copolymer, polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA), Polycarbonate (PC) and Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene (ABS) copolymer. It is also preferred that the panel base body is a flat or curved plastic plate.
According to the invention, it is preferred that the partial surface TCAnd a partial surface TFAnd/or part of surface TKLocated within the surface of the plastic body. This usually means that the part surface is at a distance from the edge of the plastic body. The side profile according to the embodiment of the method according to the invention is therefore preferably located in the surface of the plastic body. The side contour thus has a distance from the boundary of the plastic body that is not equal to zero.
The coated plastic panels usually contain operating elements for controlling the household appliance. The operating element can be a mechanically movable switch and/or preferably touch-sensitive. The touch-sensitive operating element is preferably based on a change in capacitance.
In a preferred embodiment of the method according to the invention, the cover film and/or the colored plastic film comprise the sensor element.
The application of the cover film and/or the colored plastic film used in the method according to the invention can be carried out in various ways, in particular by gluing or welding, and is independent of whether the cover film is composed of a release film only or of a laminate composed of a plurality of films, for example. A self-adhesive cover film and/or a self-adhesive coloured plastic film can thus be used. The self-adhesive film here has an adhesive material on the adhesive side, which is preferably a hot-melt pressure-sensitive adhesive.
However, it is also possible to provide, for example, a non-self-adhesive film which is then applied to the plastic body, in particular by ultrasonic welding or laser welding.
According to the invention, it is preferable in one embodiment of the method according to the invention to use self-adhesive films in steps (a1) and/or (a 2).
The cover film and/or the colored plastic film usually comprise or consist of a thermoplastic, for example PMMA, polyethylene terephthalate and/or polycarbonate. Preferably, the cover film and/or the colored plastic film comprise or consist of polyethylene terephthalate and/or polycarbonate. The plastic used can be the same for both cases, so that the terms "plastic film" and "colored plastic film" used here deviate in particular from the intended use and the particular configuration resulting therefrom.
The film made of the aforementioned materials can be adapted well to curved or otherwise shaped bodies on account of its flexibility and can be produced at the same time inexpensively and cost-effectively. For the purpose of graphic design, the film can also be printed without distortion in the flat state before it is placed on the plastic body.
Infrared laser radiation is generally used in the method according to the invention.
According to the invention, the composition of the lacquer layer is not limited, preferably a respective color lacquer is used, which can be selected to suit the intended use, for example to provide a light-tight covering or a specific design layer. The application of the lacquer layer in steps (b) and (c) is thus preferably the application of one respective lacquer. A color lacquer is usually present here first as a more or less viscous liquid which is applied by the usual printing technique, for example screen printing. It is therefore usually first applied with a hardenable paint. A preferably sequential hardening of the individual paint layers is usually carried out in a further step. This feature is not studied in detail in the present invention, so that the "application of a lacquer layer" here comprises the application of a more or less viscous lacquer and its subsequent hardening step. The hardening step is generally related to the type of lacquer used. Thus, the hardening step may be heating or radiation, e.g. ultraviolet radiation. Crosslinking of the constituents of the lacquer layer is generally effected by means of uv radiation.
For the reasons mentioned above, the detachment of the lacquer layer is in particular the detachment of the hardened lacquer layer.
One or more of the cover films and/or the colored plastic films used in the embodiment of the method according to the invention can contain operating elements for operating, for example, the energy of the household appliance and display elements for displaying, for example, the operating state of the household appliance. The information carrier film or films, which contain graphic elements, for example plain text characters, position markings, symbols and/or frame-shaped elements, can be easily applied to the plastic body according to the invention in such a way that, when the removable film is removed, for example, the information carrier film or films remain on the plastic body after the film has been applied. In particular, the adaptation of an operating panel used as a coated plastic panel to configuration variants and/or national variants of household appliances can be carried out cost-effectively, since only the film has to be replaced if necessary. That is, the information to be displayed may be distributed over more than one film, with each film carrying a portion of the graphic element. By means of a targeted and suitable combination of the different printed films, a plurality of variants of the operating unit and thus an operating panel can be produced. That is, the information-bearing film, which for example provides information in a different language, can be changed by exchanging one film for another printed film. Further, the number of films to be provided for forming films carrying information of different designs can be limited by appropriately selecting the figure elements for the films, respectively. In other words, the film used in the embodiment of the method according to the invention can in particular have a plurality of films, i.e. be used as a laminate, so that adaptations to different languages can be carried out. For this purpose, certain display elements, for example symbols, can be arranged on the film, while language elements are arranged on specific films. However, it is also possible in particular for both to be on the same film.
However, it has been possible to show different display elements according to the invention, in particular by suitably applying a lacquer layer and partially removing said lacquer layer.
Furthermore, the defined color of the operating unit can be set by inserting a film having the defined color or by providing a paint layer having the defined color.
In a particularly preferred embodiment of the invention, the cover film used is contained in the remaining part of the plastic body, i.e. not in the removable film, the sensor element, which may also be referred to as "sensor button". The membrane, which may also be referred to as a sensor membrane, containing the sensor element is therefore directly or indirectly connected to the plastic body. The concept "sensor element" as used herein may already be explained. In addition to touch-sensitive keys, touch-sensitive touch elements with analog input, which are often referred to as "sliders" or "scroll wheels", also belong to the sensor element.
The sensor element is usually designed as a sensor surface or sensor electrode made of a suitable material. The sensor elements used in the sensor film can be based on different measurement principles, for example resistance or capacitance measurements. The capacitance is preferably measured, so that the sensor element is preferably a capacitive sensor (sensor electrode). The sensor electrodes are made of a suitable conductive material, the change in capacitance of which is detected and evaluated when touched. Suitable conductive materials are, for example, transparent semiconducting oxides, or else conductive organic materials, for example conductive organic polymers.
If a sensor film is used, the sensor element and the printed circuit can be applied to the sensor film in different ways. In a preferred embodiment of the invention, at least one capacitive sensor electrode and a printed circuit are printed onto the sensor film.
In addition to metallic conductive structures, organic conductive structures can also be used on the sensor film used in the preferred embodiment. Thus, in embodiments in which the sensor element is a capacitive sensor, it is common to include a capacitive sensor, at least one of which and/or the printed circuit is or is composed of an organic polymer or metallic conductive material that is itself conductive.
Furthermore, the aforementioned operating symbols and characters can also be arranged, in particular glued or printed, on or in the sensor film.
It is also possible to use a membrane with position-dependent haptic elements, which membrane can be advantageously used in operation for distinguishing and/or better identifying touch-sensitive sensor elements/keys.
The coating technique for the film is not particularly limited as long as sufficient adhesion is ensured. Preferably, the printing technique is also not particularly limited. Preferably, the printing is performed by screen printing.
Furthermore, the subject of the invention is a coated plastic panel obtained by a process comprising the following steps:
(a) providing a plastic body composed of an at least partially transparent plastic;
(b) applying a first lacquer layer, which blocks light, to the surface of the plastic body;
(c) applying a second paint layer over the light blocking first paint layer of step (b), wherein the second paint layer is light transmissive to the first paint layer; and
(d) coating a partial surface T of the surface by means of infrared laser radiationCAnd internally removing the second paint layer.
In a preferred embodiment of the coated plastic panel, an at least partially light-transmitting film having the sensor element and the electrically conductive structure is arranged on the plastic body. In particular, the circuit also belongs to the conductive structure. Furthermore, the electrical connections can also be arranged on the sensor membrane.
The subject matter of the invention is furthermore a household appliance comprising the coated plastic panel, in particular a household appliance having a program control device and a plastic panel as described herein.
The household appliance is not limited according to the present invention. The household appliance is preferably selected from the group consisting of laundry treatment appliances, such as washing machines, dryers and washing-dryers, dish washing appliances, refrigeration appliances, microwave appliances, ovens, ranges, blenders and coffee machines.
The invention has a number of advantages. The invention enables different operating panels to be produced in a simple manner. For this purpose, the film and/or lacquer layer to be applied only has to be designed accordingly and optionally removed, in particular by infrared laser radiation, wherein the invention already enables the position of the symbols and characters to be changed. The panel base, i.e. the plastic base, does not need to be opened in a complicated manner in order to mount the operating unit.
In particular, it is possible to produce different appliance variants or different operating panels of different household appliances on the basis of a common plastic body and to change the coating used and, if necessary, one or more of the films used or the film laminates used. This eliminates the need to replace the completely produced control panel or the complex information carrier
The invention achieves that in one embodiment, the cost of insulation is reduced by using a lacquer layer that can be removed by infrared laser radiation during painting, and in one embodiment also by using a plastic film, which is also referred to herein as a painted plastic film, and a removable or non-removable plastic film covering the film. A quick change of the variant and a quick change of the display window is achieved. In one embodiment of the invention, the expenditure on tool parts for plastic components is lower and can be better controlled. Furthermore, cost savings are achieved by eliminating several process steps, such as isolation, printing, cleaning, etc.

Detailed Description
Fig. 1 shows a top view of a coated plastic panel 1 obtained according to the invention according to a first embodiment, without limitation. A coating layer, shown in hatched lines, of a first and a second paint layer, each comprising a cured color paint, is located on the plastic panel 1 or on the surface 4 of the plastic body of the plastic panel 1 underneath. In this particular embodiment, the uncoated partial tableSurface T K13 is located within the surface 4, a cover film with a release film is placed on the uncoated partial surface in step (a2) during the execution of an embodiment of the method according to the invention. The coating of the first and second paint layers applied to the release film is removed together with the release film. Part of surface T K13 are located entirely within the surface 4.
Fig. 2 shows a side view of a coated plastic panel 1 obtained in performing the method according to the invention. The plastic panel 1 shown in fig. 2 has a first paint layer 3 and a second paint layer 5 on a surface 4 of the plastic body 2, which are transparent coatings of at least one color paint. On a part of the surface T of the plastic body 2KA laminate of a first film 14, which is arranged directly on the plastic body 2 and can therefore also be referred to as a front sheet film, and a second film 15, in which the sensor element 16 is located as part of the touch-sensitive operating device and can therefore also be referred to as a sensor film, is arranged on the top 13 ("residual laminate", i.e. after removal of the release film which is no longer present here). The printed operating symbols 17 and characters 18 are located in the first film 14. Adaptation to different countries and/or languages can thus be achieved by using different films 14.
In the embodiment of the coated plastic panel 1 shown in fig. 2, step (a) of the method according to the invention then consists in applying a colored, for example red-colored, plastic film 8 to the uncoated partial surface T of the surface 4 of the plastic body 2 in step (a1)FAnd 9, respectively. In the following steps (b) and (c) of the method according to the invention, the first lacquer layer 3 and the second lacquer layer 5 are likewise applied to this partial surface. In fig. 2, the lacquer layer is also present completely on the colored plastic film 8 for reasons of simplicity of illustration.
Fig. 2 also shows how the first paint layer 3 and the second paint layer 5 can be removed in a targeted manner by laser radiation, in particular infrared laser radiation. This step is also known as laser etching.
That is, the case is shown in FIG. 2, at the rootAccording to step (d) of the method of the invention, a portion of the surface T is coatedCThe second lacquer layer 5 is removed in 6. In fig. 2, the first paint layer 3 is also removed, at least at some locations where the second paint layer 5 has been removed, according to a preferred embodiment of the method according to the invention. That is to say that the first paint layer 3 is present here on a part of the surface T C6 lower surface TC1And 7 are removed. By removing a part of the one or more lacquer layers, coated plastic panels with different designs can thus be produced. By means of this targeted removal, the previously colored plastic film can also be exposed at the desired location, so that symbols or characters in the color of the colored plastic film can be obtained in a targeted manner.
Fig. 3 shows a side view of the coated plastic panel after carrying out steps (b) and (c) of the method according to the invention. The reference numerals already cited in fig. 2 have the same meaning here. The cover film 10 used in one embodiment of the method according to the invention can be seen in a coated plastic panel. That is to say, in addition to the arrangement in fig. 2, a release film 11 is applied to the remaining laminate of films 14 and 15, on which the coating 3, 5 of the first paint layer 3 and the second paint layer 5 is located. In step (d) of the process according to the invention: i.e. removing the second lacquer layer 5 applied in step (c) and step (e) of one embodiment of the method according to the invention: after the first lacquer layer 3 has also been removed along the side contours 12 of the cover film 10 and the release film 11 has finally been removed, the left-hand part of the coated plastic panel shown in fig. 2 is obtained.
