Technical Field

Background
As is well known, off-road diesel engines generally employ a forced coolant circulation system to ensure that the engine operates at a relatively stable temperature. The cooling liquid of the engine is pumped into the cylinder body water jacket after being pressurized by the water pump, all parts of the cylinder body are cooled, then flows into the cylinder cover water jacket upwards, flows out of the engine from the upper part of the cylinder cover after cooling high-temperature parts such as a bottom plate, an oil sprayer and the like, enters the water pump to be pressurized again to start the next cycle, or enters the water pump after being cooled by the radiator. At present, most of cooling water jackets of engine cylinder covers are of single-layer structures, which is not beneficial to cooling of high-temperature areas of the cylinder covers, and rigidity of the cylinder covers is low, which is not beneficial to power improvement of the engine.
According to the temperature of the cooling liquid flowing out of the cylinder cover, the forced circulation of the cooling liquid is divided into large circulation and small circulation, wherein the small circulation means that when the water temperature of the engine is low, the main valve of the thermostat is closed, the auxiliary valve is opened, the cooling liquid directly enters the water pump, and after being pressurized, the cooling liquid sequentially flows through the cylinder body water jacket and the cylinder cover water jacket, so that the cooling circulation of the engine is completed; when the temperature of the cooling liquid flowing out of the engine exceeds the limit value of the opening of the thermostat, the main valve of the thermostat is opened, the auxiliary valve is closed, and the cooling liquid flowing out of the water jacket of the cylinder cover enters the radiator through the thermostat to be cooled and then returns to the water pump.
The thermostat assembly is used as a switching mechanism of the large and small circulation of an engine cooling system, an independent shell is generally arranged on or near a water outlet of a cylinder cover at the front end surface of the engine at present and is used as an installation framework of the thermostat, and corresponding water inlet and outlet pipelines are installed to complete the circulation of the whole system; the manufacturing cost is increased due to the need of a separate shell and a pipeline; the external pipeline connection increases the installation workload and has leakage risk; meanwhile, the structure needs larger installation space, and the arrangement of accessories at the front end of the whole engine is difficult.

Bolt holes 5 are distributed around the thermostat mounting base 4, and a thermostat small circulation water return hole 9 is cast at the bottom and communicated with a low-pressure water inlet cavity of the water pump.
The water supply holes 10 are arranged in four cylinders, two are close to the air inlet side surface 1, two are close to the air outlet side surface 2, and are approximately symmetrically arranged relative to the center of the cylinders.
The upper and lower water jacket partition plate casting holes 11 are cast along with the shape of the air inlet and outlet channels.
The height L1 of the lower water jacket is as follows: 15-25 mm.
The height L2 of the upper water jacket is as follows: 55-65 mm.
The distance H1 between the thermostat mounting base and the center of the cylinder is as follows: 125-135 mm; h2 is: 60-65 mm.
The diameter D of the upper and lower water jacket partition plate casting holes 11 is as follows: ∅ 32 to 34 mm.
By adopting the technical scheme, the invention can achieve the following beneficial effects: the cylinder cover adopting the design of the upper water jacket and the lower water jacket is provided with the partition plate between the two cylinders to form an independent water inlet cavity structure of each cylinder, so that the cooling liquid is effectively guided to flow from the periphery of the cylinder cover to the high-temperature part of the central area; the partition plate between the upper water jacket and the lower water jacket forces the cooling liquid to flow close to the bottom plate, thereby effectively ensuring the cooling of the bottom plate and improving the overall rigidity of the cylinder cover body; the casting holes of the upper water jacket partition plate and the lower water jacket partition plate and the cavity around the oil sprayer bushing are used as the only channels between the upper water jacket and the lower water jacket, so that the periphery of the oil sprayer is ensured to have enough cooling liquid to pass through, and the cooling effect of the oil sprayer is ensured; the integrated thermostat mounting base design is adopted, and a complex shell and an external pipeline are not required to be manufactured. The cost can be reduced, the pipeline connection is omitted, the installation of the thermostat assembly is simplified, the working reliability is higher, meanwhile, the thermostat is installed inside the cylinder cover, the installation space is saved, and the installation arrangement of front-end accessories is facilitated.

The bottom surface of the cylinder cover is cast with water feeding holes 10, four water feeding holes are arranged in each cylinder, two water feeding holes are close to the air inlet side surface 1, two water discharging holes are close to the air outlet side surface 2, and the water feeding holes are approximately symmetrically arranged relative to the center of the cylinder. When the engine runs, cooling liquid enters the independent lower water jacket 7 from the periphery of each cylinder through the cylinder cover upper water holes 10 from the cylinder body, then flows to the high temperature part in the central area, cools the high temperature 'four corner area' between the air valve and the oil injector, then the cooling liquid of each cylinder respectively passes through the upper water jacket baffle cast holes 11 of the corresponding cylinder and the cavities around the oil injector bushing 12, enters the integral upper water jacket 6, flows towards the front end in a diffusion mode, and enters the water cavity near the installation base 4 of the thermostat through the water outlet channel 8. When the temperature of the cooling liquid is lower than the opening temperature of the main valve, the main valve of the thermostat is closed, the auxiliary valve is opened, the upward passage is cut off, the downward passage is opened, water flow directly enters the low-pressure cavity of the water pump through the small circulation water return hole 9 of the thermostat cast at the bottom hole of the mounting base 4 of the thermostat, and engine cooling liquid is subjected to small circulation; when the temperature of the cooling liquid exceeds the opening temperature of the main valve, the main valve of the thermostat is opened, the auxiliary valve is closed, the downward passage is blocked, the upward passage is opened, the cooling water flows upwards through the mounting base 4 of the thermostat, flows to the external radiator for cooling, then flows back to the low-pressure cavity of the water pump, and the engine cooling liquid is subjected to large circulation.
The double-layer water jacket cylinder cover with the integrated thermostat mounting base is adopted, and the independent lower water jacket design of each cylinder improves the rigidity of the whole cylinder cover and ensures that the cooling water flow and the flow velocity of each cylinder on the bottom plate of the cylinder cover are uniform. Meanwhile, as the oil sprayer is positioned at the center of the cylinder and is perpendicular to the bottom surface of the cylinder, a through hole is cast at the same position of the upper water jacket partition plate and the lower water jacket partition plate of each cylinder of the cylinder cover, cooling water flow of the lower water jacket can flow to the upper water jacket through the hole in a forced way, the cooling of the oil sprayer is facilitated, and the use reliability of the oil sprayer is improved. The integrated thermostat mounting base is designed, a complex shell and an external connecting pipeline are not needed, the installation of the thermostat assembly is simplified, the installation space is saved, and the installation arrangement of front-end accessories is facilitated.
Because the installation base of the thermostat is integrated on the cylinder cover, the whole diesel engine has compact structure, saves space, is convenient to install, reduces leakage risk and improves the reliability and suitability of the diesel engine. The double-layer water jacket design and the independent water jacket arrangement are adopted, so that each high heat load area at the bottom plate of the cylinder cover is uniformly and efficiently cooled, the heat load of the cylinder cover is reduced, and meanwhile, the rigidity of the cylinder cover is improved.
