Abstract
The invention discloses a toothbrush bristle and a processing method thereof, wherein the processing method of the toothbrush bristle comprises the following steps: the toothbrush is heat treated so that the free ends of the toothbrush bristles have an irregular compound curved surface. The invention carries out heat treatment on sharp edges and corners at the free ends of the toothbrush bristles to achieve the smoothing effect, thereby avoiding damage to gums and enamel. Meanwhile, only the free ends of the toothbrush bristles are subjected to heat treatment, so that the damage to the rest parts of the toothbrush bristles and the rest parts of the toothbrush caused by the heat treatment can be avoided, and the overall quality of the toothbrush is not affected. The control of the heating process allows the free ends of the bristles to be rounded, so that all sharp corners (including the edge corners) are rounded, and the free ends with irregular compound curved surfaces are finally obtained.
Description
Technical Field
The invention relates to the field of oral cleaning, in particular to toothbrush bristles and a processing method thereof.
Background
Toothbrushes are widely and long-term used as personal daily necessities for cleaning teeth and oral cavities, and good toothbrushes can brush attachments on teeth without damaging gums or enamel, which puts high demands on the toothbrushes. Among them, the structure of the toothbrush bristles has a great influence on the quality of the toothbrush, such as the shape of the end portions of the toothbrush bristles, the hardness and flexibility of the toothbrush bristles, the material of the toothbrush bristles, and the preparation process of the toothbrush bristles. Of these, the brush bristle ends, which directly contact the toothbrush, are the most direct factors affecting the quality of the toothbrush.
Currently, the ends of untreated toothbrush bristles are often sharply angled, which can cause damage to the gums and enamel. Therefore, how to treat the sharp edges of the ends of the toothbrush bristles is in need of solution. The prior art generally adopts a complex multi-step process for treating sharp corners at the ends of toothbrush bristles, for example, patent document CN102802466A discloses that four process steps are necessary to solve the technical problem that sharp corners are often formed at the ends of toothbrush bristles, and the specific process comprises the following steps: cutting one end of the synthetic bristle strand; mechanically polishing the cut ends of the synthetic bristle tow; heat treating the polished end of the filament bundle of synthetic bristles; and causticizing the heat-treated ends of the synthetic bristle strands into a circular shape. In addition, when the toothbrush bristles are heated, the entire bristles are heated, and the rest of the toothbrush bristles and the rest of the toothbrush may be damaged.
In conclusion, the prior art has the defects of complex and tedious process, loss and pollution caused by mechanical polishing, chemical heat treatment and the like, and damage to the rest parts of the toothbrush bristles and the rest parts of the toothbrush.

Wherein the material of the toothbrush bristles is any suitable material including, but not limited to, resins, synthetic resins, animal hair, nylon, and the like. In this example, nylon was selected. The bristles may be heat treated by heat treating the entire bundle of bristles, by heat treating only the free ends of the bristles locally, or even by heat treating the bristles of a finished toothbrush to which the bristles have been fixed. The heat treatment mode may be any existing heating mode, or may also be a heat radiation mode, a laser radiation mode, or the like, and the present embodiment adopts an infrared heat radiation heating mode. If the heat treatment of the bristles of the finished toothbrush with the toothbrush bristles fixed is carried out, the shapes of the heat radiation source and the laser radiation source are matched with the brush surface constructed by the fixed toothbrush bristles, so that the uniformity of the heat treatment is ensured, and the finished toothbrush with the toothbrush bristles fixed can be subjected to heat treatment at high speed in large batch, wherein the shapes of the heat radiation source and the laser radiation source can be adjusted on line or off line according to the different brush surfaces of the toothbrush. The heat treatment temperature is related to the material of the toothbrush bristle, is higher than the melting point of the toothbrush bristle, more preferably higher than the burning point of the toothbrush bristle, and is carried out under a protective gas or vacuum atmosphere, wherein the protective gas is any protective gas, preferably nitrogen and inert gas. The time of the heat treatment is dependent on the material of the toothbrush bristle and the temperature of the heat treatment, and any suitable time of the heat treatment may be used to obtain an excellent smooth bristle. In the heat treatment process, the toothbrush bristles are vertically upward or downward, and the tips of the melted bristles are influenced by the gravity and the surface tension together, so that different irregular smooth curved surfaces are formed. The diameter of the bristles may be any feasible diameter, preferably 0.1mm to 1mm, more preferably 0.1 mm.
Before the step of smoothing the free ends of the toothbrush bristles by heat treatment, the method may further include a step of cutting the toothbrush bristles; also, a polishing step and a step of treating the toothbrush bristles with chemicals are not required in the manufacturing process.
As shown in FIG. 1, the untreated toothbrush bristles of this embodiment have rough and sharp edges at their free ends, and thus easily damage gums and enamel during oral cleaning. The toothbrush bristles having free ends as shown in fig. 1, which were treated in this example, had been fixed to a toothbrush, were subjected to a heat treatment. A localized heat treatment is employed and only heats the free ends of the toothbrush bristles without affecting the quality of the rest of the toothbrush bristles and other parts of the toothbrush. The material of the toothbrush bristle is nylon. The diameter of the toothbrush bristle is 0.1mm to 1mm, preferably 0.1 mm. The heat treatment method is infrared heating. The shape of the infrared heat source is matched with the brush surface constructed by the fixed toothbrush bristles (for example, the shape of the brush surface of the infrared heat source is the same), so that the free ends of all the bristles can be subjected to the same heat treatment without affecting the quality of other parts of the toothbrush bristles and other parts of the toothbrush. The heat treatment temperature is 600 degrees celsius or higher, preferably 650 degrees celsius or higher, and more preferably 700 degrees celsius in this embodiment. The heat treatment time is 0.1 to 2s, preferably 0.1 to 1s, and more preferably 0.1s in this example. The heat treatment protective gas is nitrogen or inert gas. The toothbrush bristles are oriented vertically upward.
As shown in FIG. 2, the free ends of the heat-treated toothbrush bristles of this embodiment are rounded, and the rounding is directly obtained by the heat-treatment process without adding other processes (e.g., polishing process, causticizing process). As shown in fig. 2, in the heat treatment process, the melted substance tends to become a spherical surface due to the influence of surface tension, the free end of the bristle having sharp corners is melted by heat, all sharp corners (including the edge corners) are melted and rounded first, and the free end of the bristle can be rounded by controlling the heating process, so that all sharp corners (including the edge corners) are rounded, and the free end having an irregular compound curved surface is finally obtained.
Example two:
compared with the first embodiment, the present embodiment provides a method for processing toothbrush bristles, which is characterized in that:
the toothbrush bristles treated in this example were not fixed to a toothbrush. The whole-bristle heat treatment (the heat treatment for the whole bundle of toothbrush bristles) is adopted. The material of the toothbrush bristle is polyolefin. The diameter of the toothbrush bristle is 0.1mm to 1mm, preferably 1 mm. The heat treatment mode adopts laser. The heat treatment temperature is 600 degrees celsius or more, and 600 degrees celsius is more preferable in this embodiment. The heat treatment time is 0.1 to 2 seconds, and 2 seconds is more preferable in this embodiment. The heat treatment protective gas is nitrogen or inert gas. The toothbrush bristles are oriented vertically downward.
Example three:

the toothbrush bristles treated in this example have been fixed to a toothbrush. The toothbrush is subjected to heat treatment completely. The material of the toothbrush bristles is polyester. The diameter of the toothbrush bristle is 0.1mm to 1mm, preferably 0.5 mm. The heat treatment method is infrared heating. The heat treatment temperature is 600 degrees celsius or higher, preferably 650 degrees celsius or higher, and more preferably 800 degrees celsius in this embodiment. The heat treatment time is 0.1 to 2s, preferably 0.1 to 1s, and more preferably 1s in this example. The heat treatment protective gas is nitrogen or inert gas. The toothbrush bristles are oriented vertically upward.
Example four:

Meanwhile, only the free ends of the toothbrush bristles are subjected to heat treatment, so that the damage to the rest parts of the toothbrush bristles and the rest parts of the toothbrush caused by the heat treatment can be avoided, and the overall quality of the toothbrush is not affected.
Compared with the prior art, the invention has the following differences and advantages:
1. although all start with cutting bristle blanks, the present invention does not require the process of mechanical polishing;
2. the invention can adopt heat radiation heating, compared with the prior art, the heat radiation heating can be more accurately controlled, thereby being capable of carrying out local heat treatment, which can not be achieved by the prior art;
3. the heating method is different, and the actual heating purpose is different, even though the prior art has a heating step, the purpose is only for the pretreatment of the subsequent process, and the heat treatment purpose of the invention is to melt the surface of the free end of the bristle and realize the rounding of the sharp edge by the action of surface tension;
4. the invention pursues the rounding of sharp edges and corners, and finally obtains the free ends of the toothbrush bristles with irregular composite curved surfaces, which is completely different from the tail ends of the toothbrush bristles in the prior art;
5. the efficiency and efficiency of the process are significantly different, the present invention can be applied to a two-step process, only removing the sharp edges of the bristles harmful to teeth and gums, the prior art has to be applied to a 4-step process (the technical solution of claim 1 of patent document CN102802466A has shown that the 4-step process is applied and there is no description that can reduce the process steps), the head of the bristle is machined to a round shape, and the mechanical polishing, the chemical heat treatment finishing, etc. are worn and contaminated during the process. the free ends of the toothbrush bristles are provided with the irregular compound curved surfaces, namely sharp edges and corners of the free ends are rounded, and the edges and corners not only comprise rough edges and corners on the end surfaces, but also comprise corners between the end surfaces and the end surfaces perpendicular to the toothbrush bristles;
the heat treatment mode is heat radiation or laser irradiation, the shape of a heat radiation source or a laser irradiation source is matched with the brush surface constructed by the fixed toothbrush bristles, wherein the shapes of the heat radiation source and the laser irradiation source are adjusted on line or off line along with the difference of the brush surface of the toothbrush;
the temperature of the heat treatment is higher than the ignition point of the toothbrush bristles, when the temperature of the heat treatment is higher than the ignition point of the toothbrush bristles, the heat treatment is carried out in a protective gas or vacuum environment, and the time of the heat treatment is 0.1-1 s;
the orientation of the toothbrush bristles during the heat treatment is vertically upward or vertically downward.
