The reading progress description information can be described by adopting a structured data format.
In step 102, a corresponding book is found according to the reading progress description information, and the corresponding book is positioned to a corresponding reading progress position.
The book metadata information may include a book name, an author, and a publishing company, and the unique corresponding book may be found according to a combination of the book name, the author, and the publishing company.
The reading progress description information can also comprise intra-chapter offset, the reading progress position is preliminarily positioned in the corresponding book according to the chapter header information and the intra-chapter offset, and then accurate positioning is carried out according to the context content information.
The corresponding book can be found on the content platform or the reader according to the reading progress description information; or, according to the reading progress description information, the corresponding book is found in a third-party content platform through a search engine.

Wherein the reading progress description information can be generated by adopting a structured data format.
In step 202, the content including the reading progress description information is sent, and the receiver finds the corresponding book according to the reading progress description information and locates the corresponding book to the corresponding reading progress position.
Fig. 3 is another schematic flow chart of an electronic book reading processing method according to an embodiment of the invention. Fig. 3 describes the solution of the embodiment of the present invention in more detail with respect to fig. 1 and 2.
The electronic book reading processing method provided by the invention can conveniently and accurately realize generation, sharing, exchange, identification, storage and the like of the electronic book reading progress across the content platform and the reader software.
Referring to fig. 3, the method includes:
in step 301, at the sender, reading progress description information suitable for cross-platform exchange is generated.
The reading progress description information generated in the step includes at least two items of book metadata information, chapter header information and context content information of the electronic book.
The invention creates reading progress description information suitable for cross-platform exchange for an electronic book. The reading progress description information of the present invention may include a plurality of level information, including, for example, book level information, chapter level information, and location level information.
The Book level information may be information such as a Book name, an author, a publisher, a unique Number (for example, ISBN (International Standard Book Number), ISSN (International Standard Serial Number), and an optional Number), a representative chapter title (for example, 1, optional), and the like, added to "Book ID" (which can be uniquely identified in the platform).
If the content platform is internal, the books can be managed and identified directly through the book IDs, but if the cross-platform needs to identify the books, a more universal mode needs to be set. Although ISBN and the like may be suitable, each book does not have ISBN, and the combination of book name, author and publisher can generally uniquely determine the content source of a book. If reading progress information is shared among different platforms or content providers, it is first recognized that what looks like is the same book, and if the book contains ISBN, the matching can be successful through ISBN, and if there is no ISBN, the matching can be through a combination of "book name + author + publisher".
The chapter level information may be information such as a chapter sequence number and a chapter title added to the "chapter ID" (which can be uniquely identified in the platform).
The position level information may be information such as context (text of a certain length selected from preceding and following sections) added on the basis of "intra-chapter offset". The intra-chapter offset can be recorded digitally, but is not limited, and can be, for example, a percentage within a chapter, a few words, or a few words of a few segments. But if cross platform, there may be difference in content storage format, and there may be deviation if the word number described as the segment number is several, so the present invention can find the correct position by the context content by adding the context content as the auxiliary check content, and if the deviation is found, it can be corrected by the program.
The reading progress description information can be described by adopting a structured data format. The structured data format includes but is not limited to JSON (JavaScript Object Notation, JS Object Notation, a lightweight data exchange format), XML (Extensible Markup Language), and other forms. The structured mode is a current general mode, and is convenient to analyze, so that the method is more suitable for cross-platform use.
The reading progress description information can be directly stored by using an original data format, or can be stored after being encrypted and/or compressed.
In step 302, the content including the reading progress description information is transmitted.
When the reading progress description information is exchanged, the reading progress description information can be distributed and shared in the form of two-dimensional codes and the like, and the distributed or shared content can be original data, encrypted compressed data or a download address link capable of being downloaded to the data and the like.
Wherein, short content can be directly compiled into the two-dimensional code, long content can be stored on the network, and the two-dimensional code only stores the link address. In this case, the two-dimensional code is generally understood as a container, which can store a character string, and the mobile terminal can read the content by scanning.
In step 303, at the receiving side, the corresponding book is found according to the reading progress description information.
For a non-cross-platform reader application program, a receiver can accurately position a reading position by directly using book ID, chapter ID, intra-chapter offset and the like according to the existing method. For example, for the same platform content, by knowing which book, chapter and position to see, the reading progress and the specific content can be accurately known. If the situation of positioning failure occurs, the cross-platform scheme of the invention can be referred to.
For cross-platform or cross-reader, a unique corresponding book may be found at this step based on the combination of the book name, author, and publisher.
Specifically, the book may be searched using the book name, the unique number, or the like, and the duplicate may be eliminated by the author, the publisher, or the like, and if the search fails, the fuzzy search may be performed using the combination condition. If a plurality of books with the same name are found, the duplication elimination is generally needed. For example, also called books with the name of western-script, different publishers may produce different versions of different languages, e.g., compact versions, children's versions, etc.
If the search results are repeated, the matching chapter title list can be blurred and then re-ranked by using the chapter titles, the representative chapter title and the like. Therefore, even different versions of the same publishing company can be matched with the real corresponding version books through chapter and title searching.
After matching is successful, multi-field can be used for auxiliary verification, and book ID of the new platform can be recorded after confirmation. The remaining fields may be used for secondary checks, for example. For example, having been re-ranked by author, the publisher could be used to verify that the title is also being used to verify that the same book is indeed being found. This may be an ambiguity determination, for example, if matching several fields is deemed a successful match, some ambiguity rules and metrics may be determined.
In step 304, the reading progress position is initially located in the corresponding book according to the chapter header information and the intra-chapter offset, and then the reading progress position is accurately located according to the context information.
In the chapter title list, the chapter titles can be matched accurately, fuzzy matching can be used for secondary searching when the searching fails, and the chapter ID of a new platform can be recorded after the searching result is confirmed.
Within a chapter, the reading content position can be roughly located by "intra-chapter offset". After the positioning is finished, the context content with a certain length can be taken, compared with the context content in the reading progress description, the number of words offset in the front and back is determined, and then the words are corrected. If the positioning is not accurate or can not be positioned, the context content in the reading progress description can be adopted for fuzzy retrieval, the new intra-chapter offset is determined, and the correction is stored.
It should be noted that, the corresponding book is found on the content platform or the reader according to the reading progress description information. According to the reading progress description information, the embodiment of the invention can also find the corresponding book on the third-party content platform through the search engine, and for example, the book and the content can also be retrieved by using a browser.
The method comprises the steps that a search engine can be called to conduct retrieval by using book names, authors, publishing houses and the like, and corresponding books can be retrieved from more third-party content platforms; then, the read content web page is further retrieved by using the chapter title, the context and the like. That is, the reading progress information of the present invention can also be used to support the search of books. For example, the information recorded in the reading record is more detailed, and then the book can be searched by a search engine according to the information. When the search engine can support the specification of the reading progress description information of the shared reading progress, the reading progress description information can also be transmitted to the search engine, and the search engine finds the contents of other content platforms through the reading progress description information and jumps to the correct position for display.
One specific application example of the present invention and its effects are further described below.
Assuming that a reader on a certain platform shares the reading progress of book "XXX (volume two) to the circle of friends, the sharing process may include:
1) in addition to storing conventional bookmark location information such as book ID, chapter ID, intra-chapter offset, etc., book Meta (metadata) information (including name, author, publisher, ISBN, etc.) and representative chapter title (e.g., second chapter XXX) are added.
Where the book name contains the "XXX" key, the representative section title selects the more representative "second chapter xxxxxx", and not the "first chapter leader" (since each volume has, this selection would be detrimental to deduplication processing).
The front and back twenty characters are recorded in the positioning position selection, so that the cross-platform progress correction is facilitated, and partial context content is conveniently displayed when bookmark content is directly displayed.
2) And describing reading progress information by adopting an XML format, compressing and encoding the reading progress information, and sharing a reading progress bookmark description address by using a two-dimensional code.
The reader B of the third-party platform supporting the reading progress description format scans the two-dimensional code and obtains the reading progress description information, and books can be opened according to the following modes:
1) the corresponding book XXX volume two can be directly found on the affiliated platform by using ISBN retrieval (titles may have certain differences, but ISBN is consistent, and authors and publishers are also consistent); and acquiring and opening the book after matching is successful.
2) The chapters can be matched correctly according to the chapter titles, and corresponding chapter contents can be downloaded.
3) When chapter offset positioning is used, because the current platform adopts a txt format, which is different from an ePub (Electronic Publication) format used by a platform for establishing a reading progress, the txt format and the ePub format may have a certain difference in positioning position, and if positioning is inaccurate or impossible, fuzzy retrieval can be performed by using context content in reading progress description, a new 'intra-chapter offset' is determined, and correction is stored.
The third-party browser C supporting the reading progress description information format scans the two-dimensional code and obtains the reading progress description information, and the book can be opened according to the following modes:
1) and calling a search engine to retrieve by using the book name, the author, the publishing company and the like, and retrieving the corresponding book from more third-party content platforms.
2) The read content web page may be further retrieved using chapter titles, contextual content, and the like.
In summary, the reading progress description information of the book includes information such as basic metadata, chapter titles, context content and the like, so that cross-platform query and positioning of the book and reading progress of a third-party reader can be supported, application programs such as a browser can retrieve the book and the content, and cross-platform sharing and communication based on the internet are facilitated.
