1. the adjusting mechanism is controlled to adjust and select the height of the operating mechanism from the display coating to change the light source to irradiate the display area of the display coating, and corresponding contents are displayed;
the selection operating mechanism comprises a knob, a light source is arranged in the knob, an exit port is arranged on the knob, the light source irradiates the display coating through the exit port, and the knob controls the adjusting mechanism to move up and down to adjust the height of the knob from the display coating so as to change the height of the light source from the exit port to the display area of the display coating;
the display device is provided with a groove, the knob is arranged in the groove, the adjusting mechanism controls the knob to extend into or out of the groove to adjust the height of the knob from the display coating, and the display coating is arranged around the knob.

A display device applied to a home appliance according to claim 1, wherein: the display coating comprises a plurality of layers of display areas with gradually increasing distance from the knob, the display areas are preset with display contents, and the height of the knob from the display coating is changed to enable the light source to irradiate different display areas.
