Description

Household appliance for treating laundry, comprising an unbalance-compensating device secured by radial elastic clips
Technical Field
The invention relates to a household appliance for treating laundry, comprising a housing in which a laundry drum is rotatably mounted, and comprising at least one annular unbalance compensation device for compensating an unbalance of the rotating laundry drum caused by an asymmetrical distribution of the laundry in the laundry drum, the unbalance compensation device being arranged on the laundry drum.
Background
During the washing process of a washing machine, it is known that random and irregular distribution of laundry may occur in the laundry drum. This results in an unbalance which causes considerable mechanical vibrations in the laundry drum and therefore also considerable mechanical loads on the entire household appliance. The vibrations thus generated give unpleasant noise to the user and may also cause mechanical stress to the floor covering on which the household appliance is placed.
In order to prevent or at least greatly reduce the vibration of the laundry drum during operation of the washing machine, it has been proposed in the prior art to fix an annular unbalance compensation device (also called "ball balancer") to the laundry drum. For example, such unbalance compensation devices have an annular hollow housing in which a plurality of compensating masses in the form of spherical compensating elements are arranged. The compensating mass is mounted in a movable manner in the inner space of the casing and, during operation of the laundry washing machine, tends to move to the side opposite to the unbalanced mass with respect to the diameter of the laundry drum, thus forming a counterweight to the unbalanced mass and thus an overall balance.
For example, publication US2011/0203325a1 describes a solution for fixing an unbalance compensation device, wherein a housing of the unbalance compensation device is injection molded onto an axial end wall of a laundry drum.
According to the prior art, the unbalance compensation device may also be fixed to the laundry drum by means of screws. In this case, for example, a projection with a radial bore or a so-called thread boss is provided on one axial side of the imbalance compensation device and is designed to be able to receive a screw in each case. However, such a thread projection requires a considerable installation space in the axial direction, which is disadvantageous, since the total useful volume of the washing space of the drum is inevitably significantly reduced. This prior art is also considered disadvantageous because additional fixing elements in the form of screws have to be provided and also a resource-intensive screwing process is required, thereby delaying the assembly process.
For example, EP2154285a1 proposes a threaded connection between an unbalance compensation device and a laundry drum. It is also described that hooks are often also an alternative to limiting elements that can be provided for the unbalance compensation means, but no further information is given about the way in which the hook can be shaped or its exact position.
Furthermore, KR102008037420A describes an arrangement in which the unbalance compensation device is fixed to the laundry drum via a snap connection. In the embodiment variant according to fig. 1 of this document, the catch element is formed at the radial outer circumference of the housing of the unbalance compensation device and engages in a corresponding catch opening of the laundry drum. In this case, the snap elements are tightly fitted with the edges defining the respective snap openings, so that a form-fitting connection is formed in the axial direction. A disadvantage of such a snap connection is in particular that the snap connection may disengage. Radial deformation (in particular ovalization) of the laundry drum may occur during operation of the washing machine, resulting in a radial displacement between the casing of the laundry drum on one side and the casing of the unbalance compensation device on the other side. If such a displacement occurs, the catch elements of the unbalance compensation device may disengage from the respective catch openings, and this may eventually lead to the unbalance compensation device falling out of the axial recess of the laundry drum.
Further embodiments for fixing an unbalance compensation device to a laundry drum are disclosed in DE102013221292a1 and DE102013221293a 1.
DE102009021327a1 discloses a laundry washing machine comprising an unbalance compensation device which is fixed to a laundry drum and has at least one hook which is arranged on the unbalance compensation device and has an inclined side, wherein in the final assembly state the hook is inserted in a recess in the wall of the laundry drum towards the outside in the radial direction.
Disclosure of Invention
It is an object of the present invention to provide a household appliance for treating laundry, in which an annular unbalance compensation device is fixed in an improved manner.
The object is inventively achieved by a household appliance according to the invention.
The home appliance for treating laundry of the present invention includes a housing in which a laundry drum is rotatably mounted. The household appliance further comprises at least one annular unbalance compensation device for compensating an unbalance of the rotating laundry drum caused by the asymmetrically distributed laundry in the laundry drum, the annular unbalance compensation device being arranged on the laundry drum.
The basic idea of the invention is that the at least one stop element is fixed to the unbalance compensation device and has ramp-shaped spring clips oriented radially outward with respect to the longitudinal axis of the laundry drum. In the final assembled state of the stop element and thus of the unbalance compensation device, the spring clip therefore snaps outwards into a recess in the wall of the laundry drum, when viewed in the radial direction with respect to the longitudinal axis of the laundry drum. This embodiment makes it possible to fix the unbalance compensation device in a simple manner, so that it is easy to assemble and still positioned in a stable manner. By means of the geometric embodiment of the limiting element and its positional arrangement, the imbalance compensation device is also mounted in a resilient manner in the radial direction to some extent. Thus, during operation of the domestic appliance and upon rotation of the laundry drum, local and significant radial forces between the unbalance compensation device and the laundry drum can thereby also be prevented in the event of a residual, albeit very slight unbalance, or can be effectively absorbed and reduced by means of a radial relative movement.
Furthermore, the spring clip is provided with a free projecting end comprising a tab which, in the assembled state of the stop element, is in close fit with an inner side of a wall region of the wall facing the imbalance compensation device, which wall region delimits the recess, and which spring clip is pretensioned outward when viewed in the radial direction relative to the longitudinal axis of the laundry drum. This is a particularly advantageous embodiment, since the unbalance compensation device can thus be mounted in a somewhat elastic manner in the radial direction. In the assembled state, the spring clip is thus pressed outward against the wall, in particular a wall region. The tab fits snugly on the inside of the ramped wall region as the apex or transition point between the impact ramp surface of the ramped spring clip and the ramped wall extends through the recess. Due to the specific geometry of the ramp-shaped spring clip, it is very stable in itself and therefore also torsionally rigid, so that no undesired deformation (in particular plastic deformation) occurs even under significant loads during operation of the household appliance, in particular at the projecting end, while maintaining a radially outwardly acting pretensioning force of the spring clip.
An unbalance compensation device is herein understood to be a device designed to be able to compensate and thus prevent an unbalance of a laundry drum. The imbalance compensation device can have a compensation mass, for example in the form of a plurality of spherical elements, which is arranged in a movable manner in the housing. Such unbalance compensation devices may also be referred to as "ball balancers".
In particular, the stop element is designed as an integral strip with a plurality of bends. The stop element is thus constructed in a very compact manner, in particular in the azimuthal direction about the longitudinal axis. Furthermore, the stability of the limiting element itself is also increased by means of a plurality of bends, in particular in the direction of the longitudinal axis of the limiting element.
It is preferable for the stop element to have a circumferential region. The surrounding area surrounds the coupling rib. The coupling ribs are integrated into the housing of the imbalance compensation device, which housing accommodates the compensation element, and are therefore designed as an integral part. The surrounding area of the stop element surrounds the coupling rib on three sides, in particular such that it is arranged to fit tightly on these three sides. The stop element can thus be fixed to the housing of the unbalance compensation device in a very stable manner. The integration of the coupling rib means that it is also arranged in a very stable manner in position and does not need to be additionally fixed to the housing by means of assembly expenditure. The coupling ribs can thus also absorb corresponding forces.
In particular, the coupling ribs are arranged on a housing wall of the housing, in particular a radially outer wall of the housing. The housing wall faces a wall area of a wall of the laundry drum, wherein the wall area is further arranged radially outwardly, and wherein a recess is formed in the wall area. The coupling ribs extend radially outward from the housing wall in the direction of the wall region. The auxiliary limit element is thereby spatially positioned and located in the surrounding area in an intermediate space between the wall of the laundry drum and the housing of the unbalance compensation device.
The stop element with the encircling area is thus positioned in the intermediate space already present between the housing of the unbalance compensation device and the wall of the laundry drum. By means of this spatial arrangement, the stop element is also as short as possible, since the recess is also formed next to the coupling rib.
It is preferred to provide the coupling rib with an undercut in which the surrounding area engages with a groove-shaped or peak-shaped engagement detent. The undercut is formed on a rear side of the housing, in particular of the unbalance compensation device, wherein the rear side faces the rear wall of the laundry drum. In addition to the three-sided surrounding of the coupling rib by the surrounding region of the stop element, a mechanically reliable and stable positioning of the stop element on the housing is improved by this advantageous embodiment. The position of the undercut also has the advantage that the corresponding leverage forces occurring can be accommodated more effectively by means of the three-sided surround and the spring clip extending from the surrounding area. If the spring clip is subjected to a force in the radial direction, this force is transmitted to the surrounding area. The undercut and the spatial position of the engaging detent are formed on the side of the encircling area facing away from the transition point between the encircling area and the spring clip. The transition point between the encircling area and the spring clip therefore fits tightly on the side of the coupling rib opposite the side on which the undercut is formed. The support of the transition point between the encircling area and the spring clip, which is thus arranged on a different side of the coupling rib than the side forming the undercut, is produced by leverage. By means of this arrangement and the coupling of the specially shaped surrounding area with the coupling ribs, the forces occurring in this case and arising from the radial spring-back of the spring clip can be accommodated more effectively.
Advantageously, a plurality of separate limiting elements are arranged on the imbalance compensation device. The corresponding advantages are thereby again improved, wherein this applies to the ease of assembly, in particular to the improved mounting.
In particular, at least three such individual limiting elements are formed, which are arranged equidistant from each other in the direction of rotation about the longitudinal axis of the laundry drum. This makes it possible to achieve an azimuthally symmetrical mounting of the imbalance compensation device, which mounting takes place at a plurality of points by means of pretensioning acting radially outward and allows the capability of movement in the radial direction and thus perpendicular to the longitudinal axis by means of the spring clip. At the same time, the plurality of limiting elements, which here generate the spring force acting radially outward from the longitudinal axis, make it possible to mount the imbalance compensation device very centrally.
It is preferred that the wall of the laundry drum is a housing wall in which said recess for the stop element is formed.
Furthermore, the invention relates to a method for fixing an unbalance compensation device to a laundry drum of a household appliance for treating laundry. According to said method, at least one stop element is fixed to the unbalance compensation device before assembling the unbalance compensation device on the laundry drum. Such an intermediate assembly module comprising the unbalance compensation device and the at least one stop element fixed thereto is then fixed to the laundry drum. For this purpose, when viewed in the radial direction with respect to the longitudinal axis, the ramp-shaped spring clips of the stop element snap outwardly into recesses in the wall of the laundry drum, said spring clips being oriented radially outwardly with respect to the longitudinal axis of the laundry drum.
The ramp-shaped or moat-shaped spring clip is therefore pushed in the axial direction of the longitudinal axis with its ramp-shaped longer impact ramp into the recess of the laundry drum. In this case, the resilient clip is pressed radially inwards, while being pushed along the inside of the wall region of the wall of the laundry drum in the axial direction. The final assembly position is reached as soon as the transition point between the impact ramp and the converging ramp wall of the spring clip snaps radially outward into the recess due to the pretensioning when the recess is reached. The tab converges with the ramp wall, in particular at the end of the ramp wall opposite the transition point between the ramp wall and the impact ramp, where the tab rests with its outer side against the inner side of the wall region due to the transition point snapping into the recess. This ensures that the spring clip does not inadvertently extend radially outward far and maintains the desired radial pretension of the spring clip in the final assembled state.

Detailed Description
Identical or functionally identical elements are denoted by the same reference numerals in the figures.
Fig. 1 shows a simplified front view of a household appliance 1 for treating laundry, which may be, for example, a washing machine or a tumble dryer. The household appliance 1 comprises a housing 2, in which housing 2a laundry drum 3 is rotatably mounted. The axis of rotation a (fig. 2) in this embodiment is oriented perpendicular to the plane of the drawing in fig. 1. The household appliance 1 further comprises a tub 4, the tub 4 likewise being arranged in the housing 2 and surrounding the laundry drum 3. The laundry drum 3 comprises a hollow cylindrical outer shell and a rear end wall and is also designed to be open at the front, so that there is provided a loading opening via which laundry can be added into the inner space 5 of the laundry drum 3. The loading opening can be sealed by a door 6 which is movably arranged on the housing 2.
Fig. 2 shows a vertical sectional view and thus a view in a sectional plane in relation to the y-z plane. The laundry drum 3 and the hollow cylindrical casing 7 are shown. The loading opening 8 is also shown. The laundry drum 3 has a drum cradle 10, the drum cradle 10 being adjacent to the rear wall or rear end wall 9 and being permanently connected to the laundry drum 3. The drum support 10 is connected in a relatively non-rotatable manner to a shaft 11, the shaft 11 being driven by a drive motor (not shown) so as to effect rotation of the laundry drum 3 about the rotation axis a.
During operation of the household appliance 1 and thus when the laundry drum 3 rotates, the already added laundry may rest on the inner side 12 of the housing 7 in an asymmetrically distributed manner about the axis a, thus creating an imbalance when the laundry drum 3 rotates. To counteract or compensate for this, the household appliance 1 comprises, in the embodiment shown, two unbalance compensation means 13 and 14. It should also be noted that a plurality of pushers 15 are arranged on the inner side 12, wherein only one pusher 15 can be seen in fig. 2.
Viewed in the direction of the axis a, the front unbalance compensation device 13 is arranged in a front region 16 of the laundry drum 3, in particular of the housing 7, while the second unbalance compensation device 14 is arranged in a rear region 17.
The first unbalance compensation means 13 are designed as a continuous closed ring oriented in a rotationally symmetrical manner about the axis a. In this respect, the first unbalance compensation device 13 comprises an annular housing 18 which has a rectangular cross section, recognizable in the sectional view of fig. 2. The housing 18 has a hollow space 19, wherein one or more compensating elements 20 are arranged movable relative to the housing 18. In this exemplary embodiment, the compensating element 20 may be a ball. Additionally or alternatively to this, a fluid medium can be arranged in the hollow space 19.
The second unbalance compensation device 14 is designed correspondingly and likewise has a correspondingly designed housing 21, an inner hollow space 22 associated therewith and a compensation element 23, particularly preferably a plurality of compensation elements 23, which can be moved in the hollow space 22 relative to the housing 21.
Fig. 3 shows a detailed illustration of the region I enclosed by a dashed line in fig. 2. However, in contrast to fig. 2, the illustration in fig. 3 is not shown in the negative x-direction, but in the positive x-direction.
It can be seen that the laundry drum 3 has a receiving area 24, into which receiving area 24 the housing 18 is inserted. The outer wall of the laundry drum 3, which represents the housing, has a folding section 26 in the front region. The front region of the laundry drum 3 and thus of the housing 7 is thereby stabilized.
The housing 7 has a wall area 25, in which wall area 25a recess 27 is formed as a continuous hole.
The housing 18 has a housing wall 18a facing the wall area 25, as seen in the radial direction.
The coupling ribs 28 are integrated into the radially outer housing wall 18a and are therefore designed as an integral part of the radially outer housing wall 18 a. Coupling ribs 28 are formed in the rear region of housing wall 18a and extend radially in the direction of wall region 25, when viewed in the axial direction, i.e. in the direction of longitudinal axis a.
The unbalance compensation device 13 is connected to the stop element 29 and is fixed to the laundry drum 3, in particular in the wall area 25. Preferably, a plurality of such individual stop elements 29 are provided, which are arranged equidistant from each other in the direction of rotation about the axis a. Preferably, at least three such limiting elements 29 are provided.
The stop element 29 is designed as one piece and takes the form of a strip with a plurality of bends. The stop element 29 is made of metal.
The stop element 29 comprises a surrounding region 30, which surrounding region 30 surrounds the coupling rib 28 on at least three successive coupling rib sides 28a, 28b and 28 c. The surrounding area 30 is therefore designed in a U-shape, which fits tightly and in particular is flush with these side faces 28a to 28 c.
The surrounding area 30 comprises a peak-shaped engagement detent 31, said engagement detent 31 engaging in an undercut 32, for example in the form of a groove or recess.
The undercut 32 is formed in the coupling rib side 28b of the coupling rib 28, i.e., the rear side of the coupling rib 28. The rear side thus faces the rear wall 9.
In addition to the encircling area 30, the limiting element 29 also comprises a spring clip 33, which spring clip 33 is directly connected to the encircling area 30 and converges with the encircling area 30. The spring clip 33 extends radially outwardly in an inclined manner away from the transition or convergence point 34 with the surrounding area 30 and projects freely.
The ramp-shaped spring clip 33 includes an angled impact wall or impact ramp 35. The spring clip 33 also includes a ramp wall 36, the ramp wall 36 being oriented at an angle of less than 90 ° with respect to the impact ramp 35 and converging with the impact ramp 35. In the final assembled state shown in fig. 3, a transition point 37 between the impact ramp 35 and the ramp wall 36 is arranged to extend through the recess 27.
The spring clip 33 also comprises a tab 38 at its free projecting end away from the transition point 37. Tab 38 converges with ramp wall 36 at the end of ramp wall 36 distal from transition point 37.
It can be seen that in the final assembled state, the tab 38 fits tightly against the inner side 39 of the wall region 25.
In the final assembled state shown in fig. 3, the elastic element, which is movable in the radial direction, is held pretensioned in the radial direction towards the outside relative to the elastic clip 33. This generates a radial supporting force and holds the housing 18 of the laundry drum 3, in particular also holds the housing 18 symmetrically with respect to the axis a.
Fig. 4 shows a perspective view of an embodiment whose layout differs from that in fig. 3, wherein the surrounding region 30 of the spring clip 29 is designed in particular differently from that in fig. 3. In this case, the surrounding area 30 actually surrounds the coupling rib 28 on four sides. There is therefore also no beak and trough-engaging detent 31, instead a strip-shaped end tab of the surrounding area 30 extends into the recess 40, so that a tight fit can also be made on the fourth side of the coupling rib 28.
With regard to assembly, the stop element 29 should first be fixed to the housing 18. As mentioned above, the stop element 29 is a separate component with respect to the housing 18 and is correspondingly fixed to the housing 18.
Such an intermediate assembly module, which is thus produced by the unbalance compensation device 13 and the limiting element 29, is fixed here to the laundry drum 3, in particular in the axial direction and thus from the front along the longitudinal axis a, for which purpose the housing 18 is pushed into the receiving region 24. In this way, when the spring clip 33 reaches the folding section 26, said spring clip 33 is pressed radially inwards and then slides along the inner side 39, in particular at the transition point 37 thereof. As a result of the further pushing in the direction of the longitudinal axis a, the transition point 37 snaps into the recess 27 radially outward when the recess 27 is reached, and when the final state is reached, the tab 38 fits tightly on the inner side 39, as shown in fig. 3.
