Detailed Description
Fig. 1 shows a rack system including a slide assembly 10 adapted to mount a cabinet 12 to a rack 14 according to one embodiment of the invention. The frame 14 includes a first mast 16a and a second mast 16b, and a first width W1 is defined between the first mast 16a and the second mast 16 b. The housing 12 has a first side 18a and a second side 18 b. The slide assembly 10 includes a first slide assembly 20 and a second slide assembly 22 respectively mounted to the first column 16a and the second column 16b of the rack 14, and the first side 18a and the second side 18b of the housing 12 are respectively mounted to the first slide assembly 20 and the second slide assembly 22. In a preferred embodiment, the frame 14 further includes a third column 16c and a fourth column 16d corresponding to the first column 16a and the second column 16b, respectively, such that the first column 16a and the third column 16c are used for mounting the first slide assembly 20, and the second column 16b and the fourth column 16d are used for mounting the second slide assembly 22.
Fig. 2 and 3 show that the first slide assembly 20 includes a first rail 24, a second rail 26, and a third rail 28, wherein the first rail 24 serves as a fixed rail having a first channel 30. The second rail 26 includes a first feature 32 and a second feature 34 different from the first feature 32. The chassis 12 includes a first mounting feature 36 and a second mounting feature 38 that are mountable to the first feature 32 and the second feature 34 of the second rail 26, respectively. In a preferred embodiment, the first feature 32 of the second rail 26 is in the form of a first hole, such as a keyhole (key hole) shape. The second feature 34 is a removably mounted first projection, such as a T-profile post fastener. In this embodiment, the second feature 34 can be mounted at a first position P1 or a second position P2 of the second rail 26 for selectively mounting with the second mounting feature 38 of the chassis 12 at a first mounting position M1 or a second mounting position M2, depending on the length of the chassis 12. The first mounting feature 36 of the chassis 12 is a second protrusion, such as a post-like fastener, that is mountable with the first feature 32 (e.g., first hole) of the second rail 26, and the second mounting feature 38 of the chassis 12 is a second hole configuration, such as a key hole shape, that is mountable with the second feature 34 (e.g., first protrusion) of the second rail 26. The third rail 28 is movably disposed between the first channel 30 of the first rail 24 and the second rail 26, and the opening stroke of the second rail 26 relative to the first rail 24 can be extended by the third rail 28. The third rail 28 has a second channel 31 for allowing the second rail 26 to be displaced within the second channel 31 of the third rail 28.
Fig. 4 and 5 show the case 12 mounted to the rack 14 by the first slide assembly 20 and the second slide assembly 22. The thickness section of each first rail 24 of the first rail assembly 20 and the second rail assembly 22 is located outside the extension space of the first width W1 defined by the rack 14, and each second rail 26 and the third rail 28 are located inside the extension space of the first width W1 defined by the rack 14. By this arrangement, the width of the first rail 24 of each of the rail assemblies 20 and 22 does not occupy the space defined by the first width W1 of the rack 14, thereby providing a wider enclosure 12 that can be mounted to the rack 14 for use. The second channel 31 of the third rail 28 has a second width W2.
Referring to fig. 1-3, in a preferred embodiment, the present invention further includes an extension 40 connected to the first rail 24 of the first rail assembly 20, and a wire-arranging arm 42 mounted on the first rail assembly 20, wherein the wire-arranging arm 42 includes a first arm 44 and a second arm 46 movably connected with respect to the first arm 44, the first arm 44 of the wire-arranging arm 42 is mounted on the extension 40 of the first rail assembly 20, and the second arm 46 of the wire-arranging arm 42 is mounted on the second rail 26 of the first rail assembly 20. In one embodiment, the extension member 40 is pre-formed with a first attachment feature 48 for removably attaching the first arm 44 of the wire management arm 42 in place. The second rail 26 of the first slide assembly 20 is pre-configured with a second attachment feature 50 for removably attaching and positioning the second arm 46 of the cable management arm 42.
It should be noted that, as shown in FIG. 6, the wire management arm 42 is connected to the extension member 40 at a fixed position through the first arm 44 of the wire management arm 42, and the second arm 46 of the wire management arm 42 is connected to the second rail 26 of the first slide assembly 20 at a movable position. When the housing 12 is pulled out of the rack 14, the wire management arm 42 can be driven to unfold, as indicated by arrow F.
Fig. 7 shows an illustrative installation configuration of the first rail assembly 20 of the present invention for installing the chassis 12 to the rack 14, wherein the length of the third rail 28 does not extend beyond the first post 16a of the rack 14, when the cable at the rear end of the chassis 12 needs to be arranged, the present invention connects (e.g., fixedly connects or clamps) the first rail 24 of the first rail assembly 20 through the extending member 40, or, as shown in fig. 8, the extending member 40 connects (e.g., fixedly connects or clamps) the first post 16a of the rack 14 through a connecting member 41. In a preferred embodiment, a surface 52 of the extension 40 is substantially coplanar with an outer surface 54 of the third rail 28; alternatively, the thickness T of the extension 40 does not exceed the second width W2 of the second channel 31 of the third rail 28 (as shown in fig. 5), so that the extension 40 can extend the length of the first rail 24 as a fixed position connection for the wire management arm 42, and the extension 40 does not interfere with the displacement of the second rail 26 relative to the first rail 24. According to the above configuration, as shown in fig. 6, the first arm 44 of the wire-arranging arm 42 can be connected by the extending member 40 as a fixed position, and the second arm 46 of the wire-arranging arm 42 is connected to the second rail 26 as a movable position, so that the wire-arranging arm 42 can be extended and retracted (as shown in fig. 1). In another preferred embodiment, as shown in FIG. 9, the extension 56 extends from the first rail 24.
From the above description, it can be seen that the enhanced efficacy and advantages of the present invention are:
a. the case with wider width can be mounted to the frame by means of the slide rail assembly.
b. Can provide a stable installation of the cabinet.
Although the present invention has been described with reference to the present specific embodiments, it will be recognized by those skilled in the art that the above embodiments are illustrative only, and various equivalent changes and modifications may be made without departing from the spirit of the present invention, and therefore, it is intended to cover in the appended claims all such changes and modifications as fall within the true spirit of the invention.
