本发明涉及一类所谓的软耐冲击保护结构物。本发明具体地涉及芳族聚酰胺耐冲击结构物。
现有技术叙述
美国专利No.4574105,1986年3月4日发布,在Donovan申请中公布了一类由聚对苯二甲酰对苯二胺和聚酰胺的织造和非织造纤维层制成的抗穿透结构。公布了纤维层的各种组合,并进行了测试,还报告了各个冲击保护结果。然而,在所有非织造层中,仅应用通过针刺压缩成毡状的、长度为约10厘米的短纤维。
英国专利申请No.2198824,1988年6月22日发表,公开了一种可曲挠的防身具,其包含若干层压缩毡,穿着舒适并改善了防护性能。公布了压缩毡优选用芳族聚酰胺制,并且由5~10厘米长的短纤维构成。
德国专利申请No.3515726,1986年11月6日公开未决,公开了一种具有高抗射弹穿透性的材料,其中,该材料使用至少两类叠加放置的芳族聚酰胺纤维层制造。其一层是织造物,另一层是非织造物,两层均由芳族聚酰胺纱线制造,该纱线或者是长丝纱或者是短纤维纱。
发明目的
本发明的目的是提供一种穿着舒适、防护性能优良、加工工艺简单的耐冲击保护结构物。
发明概述
本发明涉及一种芳族聚酰胺耐冲击结构物,该结构物包含至少二层织造纱线层和至少一层置于其间的浆粕层,其中浆粕层占该结构物的5~20%(重量),以织造纱线层的重量为基准计。
本发明结构物中的织造纱线层的总面密度一般为1.5~24千克/米2;在至少一层浆粕层中的浆粕单个粒子一般长为0.1~8毫米,直径为0.1~15微米、平均表面积为3米2/克以上。
在本结构物的优选实施方案中,织造纱和浆粕均是芳族聚酰胺;而在具体优选实施方案中,织造纱和浆粕是对位芳族聚酰胺。
能使用本发明的结构物制造服装,该结构物改善了曲挠性、可加工性以及舒适性,同时能提供满意的冲击保护性能。这类结构物一般由几层材料组成,如果单独研究这些层,每一层均呈现某种程度的冲击保护性能。然而,本发明需要至少一层浆粕材料,该浆粕材料的单个粒子很短小,其单层本身单独提供的冲击保护性能,如果有的话,也是很小。

发明详述
所谓“芳族聚酰胺”意指一种其中至少85%酰胺键(-CO-NH-)直接连接到二个芳环上的聚酰胺。适宜的芳族聚酰胺纤维叙述于人造纤维-科学与工艺学(Man-Made Fibers-Science andTechnology)第二卷,成纤芳族聚酰胺章,第297页,W.Black等编,Interscience出版,1968年。芳族聚酰胺纤维也公开在美国专利4172938、3869429、3819587、3673143、3354127和3094511中。
添加剂能与芳族聚酰胺一起使用,现已发现,最多达10%(重量)的其他聚合物材料能与芳族聚酰胺共混,或者能使用含有多达10%的代替芳族聚酰胺的二胺的其他二胺,或含有多达10%的代替芳族聚酰胺的二酰基氯的其他二酰基氧的共聚物。
在本发明的纤维中,最优选的聚合物是对位芳族聚酰胺,而所优选的对位芳族聚酰胺是聚对苯二甲酰对苯二胺(PPD-T)。所谓PPD-T意指由对苯二胺和对苯二甲酰氯等摩尔聚合得到的均聚物,以及,还有,少量其他二胺加入对苯二胺和少量其他二酰基氧加入对苯二甲酰氯所得到的共聚物。通常,其他二胺和其他二酰基氯用量可以多达对苯二胺或对苯二甲酰氯的约10%(摩尔),或者稍高,只要其他二胺和二酰基氯没有干扰聚合反应的反应基。PDD-T也指加入其他芳族二胺和其他芳族二酰基氯得到的共聚物,例如:2,b-萘二甲酰氯或者氧或二氯对苯二甲酰氯,只要其他芳族二胺和芳族二酰氯的存在量能制备各向异性纺丝液。PPD-T的制备叙述于美国专利No.3869429、4308374和4698414。
本发明的织物结构物可以包括通常为冲击保护使用的任何织纹的织物。无论织纹图案或织物重量都没有特殊限制或优先。在可接受的织纹图案中,可述及平纹组织、2×2方平组织、8×8方平组织、四经破缎纹以及某些缎纹组织等。这些织物的纱线支数范围为每厘米经纱数5×5至20×20,织物重量为200~700克/米2
本发明的织物结构物包括织造纱线层和位于其间的浆粕层。浆粕是,由长度短的纤维经过精制(或者研磨)使纤维压碎和原纤化、以产生张开的端部以及从纤维主干扩展的象头发似的原纤维而制得的产物。作为原材料的这些短的纤维或絮凝物长为约3~13毫米、直径一般为约10~20微米。在精制之后,单个浆粕粒子长为约0.1~8毫米、直径为约0.1~15微米、原纤维直径为0.1~10微米。优选本发明的浆粕由芳族聚酰胺制备,更优选用PPD-T。浆粕详述于美国专利No.5171402、5084136和5028372。
实施本发明所使用的浆粕是比短纤维更改进的。短纤维是长约2~20厘米的纤维,是切自纤维材料的连续丝束而得。正如所述,浆粕粒子具有原纤维和原纤化端部,这使其彼此缠结和连锁,得到均匀的纸结构。从另一方面来说,短纤维较难以制成均匀薄片形。可通过简单的造纸工序将浆粕粒子粘结成片,而短纤维必须经过梳理、分散、气流成网、交叉铺网和固定;以及,为了使这种交叉铺网层固定在一起,材料必须经针刺或水力缠结。
本发明的结构使用至少一层浆粕,浆粕以较均匀的压缩层存在。优选,用任何众所周知的造纸工艺将浆粕制成厚纸。这种纸的厚度应当为0.5~5毫米,面密度应当约100~1000克/米2
本发明的浆粕片虽不是必须但可以包含少量聚合物粘合剂材料,例如:聚乙烯醇、诸如聚乙烯的聚烯烃、以及诸如聚氯乙烯的聚合物胶乳等。应具体需要,能够使用其他聚合物粘合剂材料,例如,使用耐热聚合物作高温用途粘合剂。这类粘合剂材料用量应有效地促使浆粕粒子固定在一起,一般不超过10%(重量),以浆粕重量为基准计。对于实施本发明或者对于应用本发明的织物结构而言,这类粘合剂材料并不是必须的,但是可以用来改善组合该织物结构物时的浆粕层的加工性能。浆粕层在与本发明的织造层组合中提供了高冲击保护性能,但是,单独研究,浆粕层是很薄弱的,并且在加工中易发生破裂。
浆粕非织造层,无论采用制毡工艺还是造纸工艺制造,都必须置于本发明的织物结构物中的织造纱线层之间。由于浆粕层的固有抗拉性能弱,所以织物结构必须至少有一层织造纱线的面层和织造纱线的背层。经常还有几层另外的织造纱线层,以及经常还有几层另外的浆粕层。除去织物结构必须有织造纱线面层和背层的要求,在该结构物中,另外的织造纱线层和浆粕层能够以任何方便的或需要的方式排列。例如:织造层和浆粕层可以在织物结构的整个厚度中交替放置。对于中等厚度-织造纱线层和浆粕层总计最多约35层-的织物结构物,优选邻近面层的层应当是浆粕层,而邻近背层的应当是织造纱线层。
浆粕层必须固定在织物结构物中适当位置处,并且以单层形式固定在一起;实现这一要求可以通过面层和背层的坚固而紧密的包容,或者通过缝合浆粕层于织造层,或者借助其他手段。在中等厚度的织物结构物中,优选整个织物结构物经所有各层缝合在一起。可以能够无规则的或以图案缝合,通常以菱形图案缝合,平行缝合线间距为约2~5厘米。
本发明的非常令人惊异的方面之一是浆粕片单独提供的冲击保护性很低以致没有,但是浆粕片能与织造片组合使用,其量最多达织造片的20%(重量),冲击界限较等面度单独使用织造片结构下降少于5%。
参见附图,以图表示本发明实例的数据,说明,本发明的芳族聚酰胺浆粕含量多达20%(重量)的织物结构物的冲击保护性能是应用浆粕含量为0的芳族聚酰胺织物者的约95%。
                       试验方法
冲击界限:复合试样的冲击强力试验按照以下所述的MIL-STD-662e进行。将待试验的叠层物(Iay-up)置于试样架上拉紧叠层物,且与试验子弹弹道垂直。子弹为I型、5.56毫米(口径倍数为22)、1.1克(17格令)碎块仿子弹(MIL-H-44099),除另有说明之外,子弹从能以不同速度射击子弹的试验枪管中射出。向每块叠层物首次射击以估计近似于冲击界限(V50)的子弹速度进行。当第一次射击完全穿透叠层物时,下次射击子弹速度则下降约15米/秒(50英尺/秒),以便得到部分穿透叠布的结果。另一方面,当第一次射击未穿透或部分穿透时,下次射击子弹速度则升高约15米/秒(50英尺/秒),以便得到完全穿透的结果。在得到一种子弹部分及完全穿透的结果后,所使用的速度为连续增加或减少约15米/秒(50英尺/秒),直至进行了足以求出叠层物的冲击界限(V50)的若干次射击。
通过求出下述算术平均值计算得冲击界限(V50),即:求出同等数目的三个最高部分穿透冲击速度和三个最低完全穿透的冲击速度的算术平均值,其条件是各个最高冲击速度和最低冲击速度之间相差不大于38米/秒(125英尺/秒)。
现已发现,本发明的织物结构物可应用于冲击保护帷幔和掩体以及用服装和软质护身具形式的人体冲击保护等,还有许多其它应用。
                   实例
试验材料使用由按下表所列的对位芳族聚酰胺材料制得的织造片和浆粕片组合而成。评判各个试验材料的冲击界限。试片为矩形,约28厘米×36厘米。片的每种组合均在所有边和两个对角方向进行缝合,以便把片固定在一起。在浆粕片中没有使用粘合剂材料。
“织造片”是用杜邦公司出售的、商品名为“Kevlar”K-29的、1363分特(1500旦)的聚对苯二甲酰对苯二胺纱线以每厘米经纱数13.8×13.4(每英寸经纱数35×34)的2×2方平组织织造的片;“浆粕片”是从杜邦公司出售的、商品名“Kevlar”IF-305的聚对苯二甲酰对苯二胺压制的片。浆粕算术平均粒长为约0.45毫米,表面积为约7.5米2/克。

Claims (5)

1.一种芳族聚酰胺耐冲击结构物,其包含至少两层织造对位芳族聚酰胺纱线层和至少一层位于其间的浆粕层;
其中该浆粕占该结构物的5~20%(重量),以织造纱线层的重量为基准计。
2.一种如权利要求1所述的芳族聚酰胺耐冲击结构物,其中该织造纱线层的总面密度为1.5~24千克/米2
3.一种如权利要求1所述的芳族聚酰胺耐冲击结构物,其中该浆粕的单个粒子长为0.1~8毫米,直径为0.1~15微米,平均表面积为3米2/克以上。
4.一种如权利要求1所述的芳族聚酰胺耐冲击结构物,其中该浆粕是芳族聚酰胺。
