技术领域
本发明涉及液晶显示技术领域,具体涉及一种液晶模组以及液晶显示装置。
背景技术
在平板显示装置中,液晶显示装置(Liquid Crystal Display,LCD)具有体积小、功耗低、制造成本相对较低和无辐射等特点,在当前的平板显示器市场占据了主导地位。
近年来,随着高动态对比度(High-Dynamic Range,HDR)技术的发展,HDR技术越来越多的应用于液晶显示装置中。要在液晶显示装置中实现HDR技术,对液晶显示装置的背光单元提出了特殊的技术需求,液晶显示装置的背光单元应当能够实现分区块控制进行局部调光(local dimming)。
液晶模组的背光类型主要包括直下式背光以及侧入式背光,直下式背光由于LED光源的分区与液晶显示面板的分区可以一一对应,分区块局部调光的效果好,因此成为市场主流,然而直下式背光模组的尺寸较厚,无法满足市场上对超薄液晶显示装置的追求。侧入式背光虽然满足了市场上对超薄液晶显示装置的追求,然而其侧光分区控制困难,无法做到有效的多分区,因此其HDR的效果较差。
发明内容
鉴于现有技术存在的不足,本发明提供了一种液晶模组,其可以采用侧入式背光实现高动态对比度的效果,并且能够满足超薄液晶显示装置的要求。
为了达到上述的目的,本发明采用了如下的技术方案:
一种液晶模组,包括相对设置的液晶显示面板和背光单元,其中,所述背光单元为侧入式背光单元,所述背光单元和所述液晶显示面板之间设置有液晶光阀,所述液晶光阀包括多个能够分别独立控制的液晶子光阀,所述液晶子光阀用于控制从所述背光单元发出的光线入射到所述液晶显示面板的光通量。
其中,所述液晶子光阀包括相对设置的第一电极板和第二电极板,所述第一电极板和所述第二电极板之间设置有第一液晶层。
其中,所述第一电极板包括形成在第一玻璃基板上的第一透明电极,所述第二电极板包括形成在第二玻璃基板上的第二透明电极。
其中,所述第一透明电极和所述第二透明电极的材料均为ITO。
其中,所述液晶显示面板中设置有阵列排布的像素单元,每一所述液晶子光阀在所述液晶显示面板上的投影覆盖多个所述像素单元。
其中,所述液晶显示面板包括相对设置的薄膜晶体管阵列基板和彩色滤光基板,所述薄膜晶体管阵列基板和所述彩色滤光基板之间设置有第二液晶层。
其中,所述多个液晶子光阀呈M行×N列的矩阵阵列排布,M、N均为正整数。
其中,所述M和N的取值分别为:2≤M≤100,2≤N≤100。
其中,所述背光单元包括背板以及依次设置在背板上的反射片、导光板和光学膜片组,所述导光板的侧面设置有光源。
本发明还提供了一种液晶显示装置,其包括驱动模块和如上所述液晶模组,所述驱动模块向所述液晶显示面板输入图像驱动信号、向所述背光单元输入背光驱动信号以及向所述液晶光阀输入开关驱动信号。
本发明实施例提供的液晶模组,其中的背光单元采用侧入式背光单元,能够满足超薄液晶显示装置的要求;另外,在背光单元和显示面板之间设置液晶光阀,由液晶光阀中的多个液晶子光阀对背光单元发出的光线进行分区块局部调光,根据显示画面的需要控制各个区块入射到显示面板的光通量,由此实现了高动态对比度的显示效果。

为使本发明的目的、技术方案和优点更加清楚,下面结合附图对本发明的具体实施方式进行详细说明。这些优选实施方式的示例在附图中进行了例示。附图中所示和根据附图描述的本发明的实施方式仅仅是示例性的,并且本发明并不限于这些实施方式。
在此,还需要说明的是,为了避免因不必要的细节而模糊了本发明,在附图中仅仅示出了与根据本发明的方案密切相关的结构和/或处理步骤,而省略了与本发明关系不大的其他细节。
本实施例首先提供了一种液晶模组,如图1所示,所述液晶模组包括相对设置的背光单元1和液晶显示面板2,所述背光单元1和所述液晶显示面板2之间设置有液晶光阀3。
其中,如图2所示,所述背光单元1为侧入式背光单元,所述背光单元1包括背板11以及依次设置在所述背板11上的反射片12、导光板13和光学膜片组14,所述导光板13的侧面设置有光源15。
具体地,所述光源15通常采用LED灯,所述光源15发出的光线经过所述导光板13的传导,在所述导光板13的背面由所述反射片12反射之后入射到所述光学膜片组14,然后再从所述光学膜片组14的上表面发射出,以提供给所述液晶显示面板2。通常地,所述光学膜片组14包括棱镜片和増透膜等。
其中,参阅图3和图4,所述液晶光阀3包括多个能够分别独立控制的液晶子光阀3a,所述多个液晶子光阀3a设置在所述背光单元1的出光面上,所述液晶子光阀3a用于控制从所述背光单元1发出的光线入射到所述液晶显示面2板的光通量,每一个所述液晶子光阀3a对应于一个控制区块。
其中,如图4所示,所述液晶子光阀3a包括相对设置的第一电极板31和第二电极板32,所述第一电极板31和所述第二电极板32之间设置有第一液晶层33。具体地,所述第一电极板31包括形成在第一玻璃基板311上的第一透明电极312,所述第二电极板32包括形成在第二玻璃基板321上的第二透明电极322。所述第一透明电极312和所述第二透明电极322的材料通常选择使用氧化铟锡(ITO)。通过控制施加在所述所述第一透明电极312和所述第二透明电极322上的电压差,控制所述第一液晶层33中的液晶分子的旋转,从而可以控制所述液晶子光阀3a的光线透过率。而多个所述液晶子光阀3a是能够分别独立控制的,由此可以实现分区块控制从所述背光单元1发出的光线入射到所述液晶显示面2板的光通量,采用侧入式背光单元实现了高动态对比度的显示效果。
其中,参阅图5和图6,所述液晶显示面板2包括相对设置的薄膜晶体管阵列基板21和彩色滤光基板22,所述薄膜晶体管阵列基板21和所述彩色滤光基板22之间设置有第二液晶层23,所述液晶显示面板2中形成有阵列排布的像素单元2a,图6中示例性示出了若干个像素单元2a。
本实施例中,参阅图4和图6,所述液晶光阀3中,各个液晶子光阀3a的面积相等,多个所述液晶子光阀3a呈M行×N列的矩阵阵列排布,M、N均为正整数。每一所述液晶子光阀3a在所述液晶显示面板2上的投影对应覆盖多个所述像素单元2a。
其中,M和N的取值决定了将所述背光单元1划分的区块数量,M和N的取值越大,可以分别控制背光的区块数量越多,高动态对比度的效果越好。图4和图6中示出示出的结构中,M和N的取值均为3。在比较优选的技术方案,所述M和N的取值分别在以下的范围内选择:2≤M≤100,2≤N≤100。
本发明还提供了一种液晶显示装置,如图7所示,所述液晶显示装置包括驱动模块100和液晶模组200,所述液晶模组200为本实施例如上所述的液晶模组,其包括背光单元1、液晶显示面板2和液晶光阀3,所述驱动模块100分别与所述背光单元1、液晶显示面板2和液晶光阀3连接。
其中,所述驱动模块100向所述液晶显示面板1输入图像驱动信号,以使所述液晶显示面板1显示相应的图像。所述驱动模块100向所述背光单元1输入背光驱动信号,以使所述背光单元1产生显示光线提供给所述液晶显示面板2。所述驱动模块100还向所述液晶光阀3输入开关驱动信号,以调整所述液晶光阀3中各个液晶子光阀的光线透过率,控制从所述背光单元1发出的光线入射到所述液晶显示面2板的光通量。
其中,所述开关驱动信号是指施加在液晶子光阀的电极板上的电压信号。所述驱动模块100可以将所要显示的图像划分为多个区域,每一区域对应于一个液晶子光阀,根据图像的每一区域所要显示的亮度,产生控制对应于该区域的液晶子光阀的开关驱动信号,从而控制获得相应亮度的光通量。
综上所述,本发明实施例提供的液晶模组以及液晶显示装置,其中的背光单元采用侧入式背光单元,能够满足超薄液晶显示装置的要求;另外,在背光单元和显示面板之间设置液晶光阀,由液晶光阀中的多个液晶子光阀对背光单元发出的光线进行分区块局部调光,根据显示画面的需要控制各个区块入射到显示面板的光通量,由此实现了高动态对比度的显示效果。

以上所述仅是本申请的具体实施方式,应当指出,对于本技术领域的普通技术人员来说,在不脱离本申请原理的前提下,还可以做出若干改进和润饰,这些改进和润饰也应视为本申请的保护范围。

Claims (10)

1.一种液晶模组,包括相对设置的液晶显示面板和背光单元,其特征在于,所述背光单元为侧入式背光单元,所述背光单元和所述液晶显示面板之间设置有液晶光阀,所述液晶光阀包括多个能够分别独立控制的液晶子光阀,所述液晶子光阀用于控制从所述背光单元发出的光线入射到所述液晶显示面板的光通量。
2.根据权利要求1所述的液晶模组,其特征在于,所述液晶子光阀包括相对设置的第一电极板和第二电极板,所述第一电极板和所述第二电极板之间设置有第一液晶层。
3.根据权利要求2所述的液晶模组,其特征在于,所述第一电极板包括形成在第一玻璃基板上的第一透明电极,所述第二电极板包括形成在第二玻璃基板上的第二透明电极。
4.根据权利要求3所述的液晶模组,其特征在于,所述第一透明电极和所述第二透明电极的材料均为ITO。
5.根据权利要求2所述的液晶模组,其特征在于,所述液晶显示面板中设置有阵列排布的像素单元,每一所述液晶子光阀在所述液晶显示面板上的投影覆盖多个所述像素单元。
6.根据权利要求5所述的液晶模组,其特征在于,所述液晶显示面板包括相对设置的薄膜晶体管阵列基板和彩色滤光基板,所述薄膜晶体管阵列基板和所述彩色滤光基板之间设置有第二液晶层。
7.根据权利要求1-6任一所述的液晶模组,其特征在于,所述多个液晶子光阀呈M行×N列的矩阵阵列排布,M、N均为正整数。
8.根据权利要求7所述的液晶模组,其特征在于,所述M和N的取值分别为:2≤M≤100,2≤N≤100。
9.根据权利要求1所述的液晶模组,其特征在于,所述背光单元包括背板以及依次设置在背板上的反射片、导光板和光学膜片组,所述导光板的侧面设置有光源。
10.一种液晶显示装置,其特征在于,包括驱动模块和如权利要求1-9任一所述液晶模组,所述驱动模块向所述液晶显示面板输入图像驱动信号、向所述背光单元输入背光驱动信号以及向所述液晶光阀输入开关驱动信号。
