Detailed Description
The embodiment of the invention provides an organic electroluminescent display panel and a display device, aiming at the problems of low display brightness and low resolution of a transparent display panel in the prior art. In order to make the objects, technical solutions and advantages of the present invention clearer, specific embodiments of an organic electroluminescent display panel and a display device according to embodiments of the present invention are described in detail below with reference to the accompanying drawings. It should be understood that the preferred embodiments described below are only for illustrating and explaining the present invention and are not to be used for limiting the present invention. And the embodiments and features of the embodiments in the present application may be combined with each other without conflict.
The shapes and sizes of the various elements in the drawings are not to scale and are merely intended to illustrate the invention.
Specifically, an organic electroluminescent display panel according to an embodiment of the present invention, as shown in fig. 2 and 3, includes: a plurality of pixel units 200 arranged in an array on the substrate 100, each pixel unit 200 including an opaque active display element 210 and a transparent passive display element 220; wherein the content of the first and second substances,
the anodes 221 of the transparent passive display elements 220 located on the same straight line along the first direction a are connected to each other through an anode auxiliary trace 310, and the anode auxiliary trace 310 extends along the first direction a;
the cathodes 222 of the transparent passive display elements 220 located on the same line along a second direction B perpendicular to the first direction a are connected to each other.
Specifically, in the organic electroluminescent display panel provided in the embodiment of the present invention, the anodes 221 of the transparent passive display elements 220 located on the same straight line along the first direction a are connected to each other by using the anode auxiliary trace 310, and the anode auxiliary trace 310 extends along the first direction a; the cathodes 222 of the transparent passive display elements 220 located on the same straight line along the second direction B are connected to each other, and the second direction B is perpendicular to the first direction a, so that the transparent passive display elements 220 in each pixel unit 200 can realize display luminescence under the control of the anode auxiliary trace 310, and the transparent passive display elements 220 and the opaque active display elements 210 are matched with each other for displaying, and compared with the case that the transparent regions in the pixel units 200 are only used for transmitting light, the display resolution and the display brightness can be improved.
Specifically, in the organic electroluminescent display panel according to the embodiment of the present invention, when the transparent passive display element 220 performs display light emission, the same content as that of the opaque active display element 210 may be displayed, or different content may be displayed, which is not limited herein.
Specifically, in the organic electroluminescent display panel according to the embodiment of the present invention, since the transparent passive display element 220 needs to transmit light, the transparent passive display element 220 is not provided with a driving transistor and only includes a transparent light emitting display element. Since the opaque active display element 210 is opaque, as shown in fig. 5, the opaque active display element 210 generally includes: a driving transistor 211, and a light emitting display element connected to the driving transistor 211. In fig. 5, the driving transistor 211 is exemplified as a top gate transistor, but is not limited thereto in practical application.
Alternatively, in the organic electroluminescent display panel provided in the embodiment of the present invention, as shown in fig. 2 and fig. 3, the anode auxiliary trace 310 may be disposed on the same layer as the anode 221.
Specifically, because of the required light transmittance of the transparent passive display element 220, the anode 221 in the display element is made of a transparent material, and after the anode auxiliary trace 310 and the anode 221 are disposed on the same layer, the anode auxiliary trace 310 is also made of a transparent material, so that the light transmittance of the transparent passive display element 220 is not affected, and the light transmittance area of the transparent passive display element 220 can be increased. Moreover, the same patterning process can be used to fabricate the anode auxiliary trace 310 and the anode 221 in the same film layer, which can save the patterning process and the fabrication cost.
Optionally, in the organic electroluminescent display panel provided in the embodiment of the present invention, as shown in fig. 4, the anode auxiliary trace 310 may be disposed on the first metal layer, and the anode auxiliary trace 310 is electrically connected to the anode 221 through the via a.
Specifically, the anode auxiliary trace 310 is disposed on the first metal layer with a relatively high conductive capability, so as to improve the signal transmission capability of the anode auxiliary trace 310. Moreover, the first metal layer is usually opaque, and the anode auxiliary trace 310 should be disposed in the gap of the pixel unit 200 in order to reduce the influence on the transmittance of the transparent passive display element 220.
Optionally, in the organic electroluminescent display panel provided in the embodiment of the present invention, the first metal layer may be a gate metal layer or a source/drain metal layer. Fig. 5 shows the case where the first metal layer is a source-drain metal layer, that is, the anode auxiliary trace 310 is disposed in the same layer as the source-drain of the driving transistor 211. Fig. 9 shows the case where the first metal layer is a gate metal layer, that is, the anode auxiliary trace 310 is disposed at the same layer as the gate of the driving transistor 211.
Specifically, the gate metal layer or the source/drain metal layer already existing in the organic electroluminescent display panel is used to form the pattern of the anode auxiliary trace 310, and no new film layer needs to be added, so that the patterning process can be saved, and the manufacturing cost can be saved.
Alternatively, in the organic electroluminescent display panel provided in the embodiment of the present invention, as shown in fig. 6, the cathodes 222 of the transparent passive display elements 220 located on the same straight line along the second direction B may be connected to each other by the cathode auxiliary trace 320; the cathode auxiliary trace 320 extends along a second direction B;
the cathode auxiliary trace 320 is disposed in a different layer from the anode auxiliary trace 310 and the cathode 222.
Specifically, since the cathode auxiliary trace 320 extends along the second direction B and the anode auxiliary trace 310 extends along the first direction a, in order to ensure that the cathode auxiliary trace 320 and the anode auxiliary trace 310 do not intersect with each other, the cathode auxiliary trace 320 and the anode auxiliary trace 310 should be disposed on different layers. The cathode auxiliary trace 320 and the cathode 222 are disposed in different layers, which is equivalent to parallel connection of the cathode auxiliary trace 320 on the cathode 222, so that the voltage drop of the cathode 222 can be reduced, and the cathode 222 is guaranteed to have a relatively uniform voltage.
Optionally, in the organic electroluminescent display panel provided in the embodiment of the present invention, as shown in fig. 6, the cathode auxiliary trace 320 may be disposed on the second metal layer, and the cathode auxiliary trace 320 is electrically connected to the cathode 222 through the via b.
Specifically, the cathode auxiliary trace 320 is disposed on the second metal layer with a stronger conductive capability, so as to improve the signal transmission capability of the cathode auxiliary trace 320. Moreover, the second metal layer is usually opaque, and the cathode auxiliary trace 320 should be disposed in the gap of the pixel unit 200 in order to reduce the influence on the transmittance of the transparent passive display element 220.
Optionally, in the organic electroluminescent display panel provided in the embodiment of the present invention, the second metal layer may be a gate metal layer or a source/drain metal layer.
Specifically, the gate metal layer or the source/drain metal layer already existing in the organic electroluminescent display panel is used to form the pattern of the cathode auxiliary trace 320, so that no new film layer needs to be added, and thus the patterning process can be saved, and the manufacturing cost can be saved. In addition, in order to avoid the intersection between the cathode auxiliary trace 320 and the anode auxiliary trace 310, when the anode auxiliary trace 310 is located on the gate metal layer, the cathode auxiliary trace 320 should be located on the source-drain metal layer, and when the anode auxiliary trace 310 is located on the source-drain metal layer, the cathode auxiliary trace 320 should be located on the gate metal layer.
Optionally, in the organic electroluminescent display panel provided in the embodiment of the present invention, when the cathodes 222 of the transparent passive display elements 220 located on the same straight line along the second direction B are connected to each other through the cathode auxiliary trace 320, as shown in fig. 7, the cathodes 222 of the transparent passive display elements 220 may also be disconnected from each other, that is, the cathodes 222 of the transparent passive display elements 220 located on the same straight line along the second direction B are connected to each other only through the cathode auxiliary trace 320, and the cathodes 222 are independent from each other.
Specifically, the cathodes 222 of the transparent display elements 220 are disconnected from each other, that is, the cathodes 222 of the transparent display elements 220 are independent from each other, which is advantageous for vapor deposition production of the cathodes 222. This is because, when a block pattern of the cathode 222 is produced by vapor deposition using a vapor deposition Mask (Mask) having a dot-shaped opening (Slot), the vapor deposition Mask having the dot-shaped opening is less likely to be deformed than the vapor deposition Mask having the long-shaped opening (Slot), and thus the produced cathode 222 can have a smaller pattern error, compared to when a long-shaped pattern of the cathode 222 is produced by vapor deposition using a vapor deposition Mask (Mask) having a long-shaped opening (Slot).
Alternatively, in the organic electroluminescent display panel provided in the embodiment of the present invention, as shown in fig. 2, fig. 4 and fig. 6, in each pixel unit, the opaque active display element 210 and the transparent passive display element 220 may be arranged along the first direction a;
in this case, the cathodes 222 of the transparent passive display elements 220 located on the same straight line along the second direction B may be an integral structure, that is, the cathodes 222 of the transparent passive display elements 220 located on the same straight line along the second direction B are connected to each other. Thus, the arrangement of the cathode auxiliary trace 320 can be omitted, simplifying the layout complexity.
Alternatively, in the organic electroluminescent display panel provided in the embodiment of the present invention, as shown in fig. 3 and fig. 8, in each pixel unit 200, the opaque active display element 210 and the transparent passive display element 220 may also be arranged along the second direction B.
Based on the same inventive concept, an embodiment of the present invention further provides a display device, as shown in fig. 10, including the organic electroluminescent display panel provided by the embodiment of the present invention. The display device may be: any product or component with a display function, such as a mobile phone, a tablet computer, a television, a display, a notebook computer, a digital photo frame, a navigator and the like. Other essential components of the display device are understood by those skilled in the art, and are not described herein or should not be construed as limiting the invention. The implementation of the display device can be referred to the above embodiments of the organic electroluminescent display panel, and repeated descriptions are omitted.
In the organic electroluminescent display panel and the display device provided by the embodiments of the present invention, when each pixel unit includes an opaque active display element and a transparent passive display element, anodes of the transparent passive display elements located on a same straight line along a first direction are connected to each other by using an anode auxiliary trace, and the anode auxiliary trace extends along the first direction; the cathodes of the transparent passive display elements on the same straight line along the second direction are connected with each other, the second direction is perpendicular to the first direction, the transparent passive display elements in the pixel units can realize display luminescence under the control of the anode auxiliary routing, the transparent passive display elements and the opaque active display elements are matched with each other for display, and compared with a transparent area in the pixel units, the display resolution and the display brightness can be improved.
It will be apparent to those skilled in the art that various changes and modifications may be made in the present invention without departing from the spirit and scope of the invention. Thus, if such modifications and variations of the present invention fall within the scope of the claims of the present invention and their equivalents, the present invention is also intended to include such modifications and variations.
