冷却模具内产品的方法
发明领域
本发明涉及一种模塑产品的方法,该方法包括在产品处于模具内时冷却产品同时冷却模具的步骤。本发明特别用于模塑的塑料管的成形。
发明背景
塑料管通常由将塑料挤压入一模制孔道来形成。该管子或由真空成型或由吹塑而成。在管子已经成形后,它一般由冷却模具体来冷却。当管子沿模制孔道往下游延续时,由于管子收缩在模具体与管子之间产生空气,冷却效率愈来愈小。因此,当管子沿模制孔道往下游延续时管子与模具体隔离并难以向模具体散热。
发明概述
本发明提供具有用于既冷却模具又冷却产品的新颖措施的模塑塑料产品的方法和装置。本发明特别适用于塑料管的模塑。
按照本方法,将熔化的塑料挤压入具有成形产品用的内表面之模具内。产品经成形后,将气体通过模具内表面上的入口输到产品上并冷却产品的外表面和模具。然后将气体通过在远离该入口的位置的出口排出。
在圆柱形模制孔道内形成的塑料管的情况下,将冷却气体通过在模制孔道一侧的模具体部分输入并绕管子周向流动。
本发明的方法可与内部冷却相结合使用以进一步增大对产品的冷却效果。

本发明优选实施方案详述
图1示出一管子模塑装置,总体用1表示。在该装置中,熔化的塑料由挤压机2输送到在挤压机下游的模制孔道内。以P表示的管子由模制孔道下游端排出。
模制孔道由模具体部分3的上部导槽和模具体部分4的下部导槽形成。两模具体部分相互接合以限定总体以5表示的模制孔道。
图2示出模具体部分的下部导槽的一对并排的模具体部分4。如图可见,这些模具体部分具有总体以7表示的内表面,该内表面限定管子P的外形。在该特定实施方案中,各模具体部分的内表面具有交替的棱面和槽以产生管子的肋型。
各模具体部分4特别为管子的真空成型设计,其中它们在模具体表面上每个槽处设置有小的真空狭缝9。为了管子的真空成型,通过这些真空狭缝抽真空而将熔化的塑料吸引到各模具体部分的所述表面。这些真空狭缝可以是间断的或者它们可以是绕每个模具体部分的半圆形表面连续的。图2示出在每个模具体部分的每个槽中有两个狭缝,然而对每一槽可只有一个狭缝或多于两个狭缝。
在模具体部分的上部导槽中的模具体部分3具有同样的构造。
图3示出在模制孔道5的上游区所发生的管子的真空成型。在这里可以看出,都安装在模具体支座2的模具体部分3和4被相互紧密地封闭成模制孔道。图3所示位于模具体部分外面的真空源11在上部模具体部分中分别通过通道13、14和15在分散位置16、17和18直接与小狭缝9连通。这些通道,如图所示,直接通过上部模具体部分的壁。在下部模具体部分4中有类似的设置,其中真空源19也在模制孔道的外面并通过具有分别对真空狭缝的单独入口区25、26和27的通道21、22和23与在下部模具体部分的表面上开出的真空狭缝9相连通。
图3表示当通过上部和下部真空源抽真空时,塑料被吸引到两配合的模具体部分的内表面以形成管子P。
图3a表示当采用同样的模具体部分3和4时管子也可由从管子内部施加的空气压力吹塑而成,如由图3a中各箭头所示。该空气压力将熔化的塑料向外推到模具体表面。
不论管子的成型方法如何,即不论是由真空成型还是由管子的吹塑而成,都采用模具体表面上的缝隙和在该情况下采用真空狭缝9通过各模具体部分来冷却管子。在管子已经成形后且当它在模制孔道下游延续时,在模制孔道内塑料开始固化以保持管子的形状,冷却气体由模具体部分之一输入模制孔道并输到管子上。最后,该冷却气体通过远离气体输入模制孔道的位置的出口排出。
更具体而言,如图4中箭头所示,将冷却气体输入上部模具体部分3。如果管子已经真空成型,那么在模制孔道的上游区连续的真空,在管子已经成形并充分地固化以保持其形状后的孔道的较下游区由进入模制孔道的冷却气流所代替。此时通道11变成冷却气体用的通道。冷却气体被迫使沿着通道13、14和15和在该情况下通过真空狭缝9进入上部模具体部分,该冷却气体可以是几种不同的形式包括外界空气或通过一冷却装置的空气。此时这些狭缝变成进入模制孔道的入口以便将冷却气体引导到管子P的外表面。
图5示出,开始有些冷却的管子向离开各模具部分内表面的方向收缩而在管子的外表面与模制孔道内表面之间形成间隙G。这能迫使冷却气体按间隙G内的箭头所示周向围绕管子进入下部模具体部分的真空狭缝内,然后在该狭缝处气体被排出模制孔道。因此,在下部模具体部分连续经受真空的狭缝此时变成模制孔道的气体出口。
为了使管子向离开模制孔道壁的方向产生些初收缩不需要将冷却气体输入模制孔道。这种收缩是由于管子的常态冷却而自然发生的。因此,可以在自然的管子收缩之后输入冷却气体,这又产生间隙G而能使冷却气体由一个模具体部分输入模制孔道并围绕管子进入另一模具体部分。
冷却气体有两个益处。首先,它提供管子的较迅速的冷却和固化。其次,它降低模具体的温度而导致模具体较大的从管子吸热的能力,这又能使管子比常态下更迅速地冷却和固化。
采用真空狭缝来输入和排出冷却气体,优选为冷却空气,其优点之一是不论是连续的还是间断的真空狭缝都为冷却空气完全通过各模具体部分的主体形成通道。因此,冷却空气不但围绕和沿着各模具体部分的内表面流动而且又贯穿各模具体部分。这显著增强了对各模具体部分的冷却。而这又提高了模具体冷却管子的能力,在各模具体部分沿它们的环路以比常态冷得多的状态回到模制孔道的上游端之后尤其如此,在上游端当塑料被挤压入模制孔道时各模具体部分直接与塑料接触并对其具有最大的冷却效果。
图6示出稍微不同的模制孔道结构,它包括一对分别设有通道23和27的模具体部分21和25。这些通道首先在管子成型过程中提供真空通道而以后用作冷却气体的入口和出口通道。冷却气体沿着模具体部分接合的以29所示的剖分面输入模制孔道内部,而不是通过直接设置在各模具体部分上的孔输入。
如果希望的话,为了在模制孔道内更迅速地冷却管子,与管子的外部冷却的同时可在管子的内部输入冷却介质例如一冷却芯棒或甚至冷却气体。
在本发明的另一实施方案中,将冷却气体在模制孔道的内表面输入,例如,通过各模具体中的狭缝、沿着模具体部分的剖分面、或通过设置在各模具体表面上的其他入口输入。产品和模具体冷却后气体通过模制孔道的下游端排出,下游端是敞开的以便从模制孔道中放出管子,如以上对附图的图1所述。
虽然在这里详细描述了本发明的各种优选的实施方案,本领域的那些技术人员应当理解,可以对其作出各种改变而不背离本发明的精神或所附的权利要求的范围。

Claims (4)

1.一种在一模具内制造塑料产品的方法,上述模具具有一个由模具壁包围的模塑区、一个该模塑区的气体入口和一个该模塑区的气体出口,上述气体入口穿过上述模具壁形成,而上述气体出口定位成远离上述气体入口,所述方法包括:在上述模塑区内贴靠模具壁成形上述产品,使该产品收缩离开上述模具壁以在产品与模具壁之间产生一个间隙,接着使冷却气体在上述气体入口处流入模塑区,流过上述间隙并在此期间冷却产品和模具壁,随后在上述气体出口处流出模塑区。
2.一种在一模制孔道内制造管子的方法,上述模制孔道由第一模具体部分和第二模具体部分形成,上述第一模具体部分和第二模具体部分相互配合,形成一个由模具壁包围的模塑区,上述模具壁具有圆的内模制表面和一个敞开的下游端,在此下游端处管子离开上述模塑区,所述方法包括:将管子贴靠上述内模制表面成形,使管子收缩离开上述内模制表面以在管子与内模制表面之间产生一个间隙,沿一个延伸穿过上述第一模具体部分至上述间隙的气体入口将冷却气体通入上述模塑区,接着使冷却气体沿管子和内模制表面流过上述间隙至一个模塑区的气体出口,该气体出口定位成远离上述气体入口。
3.如权利要求2所述的方法,其特征在于:上述气体出口位于上述第二模具体部分,使冷却气体从位于上述第一模具体部分的气体入口在上述间隙内环绕上述模塑区沿管子和内模制表面流至位于上述第二模具体部分的气体出口。
4.如权利要求2所述的方法,其特征在于:使冷却气体从位于上述第一模具体部分的气体入口流入上述模塑区内的间隙,沿管子和内模制表面流至上述模塑区的敞开的下游端,由此冷却气体离开模塑区。
