Description

Motor vehicle lock
Technical Field
The invention relates to a motor vehicle lock, comprising: the locking device, the actuating lever mechanism, the electric drive motor, which is designed for operating the locking device and/or the actuating lever mechanism, and the box-shaped lock housing, in which the locking device, the actuating lever mechanism and the electric drive motor are arranged, have a rotary latch with a rotary latch opening and have a locking pawl, wherein the box-shaped lock housing has a slot-like recess on its lateral edges, which recess extends in the direction of the center of the lock housing.
Background
Motor vehicle locks of the type mentioned at the outset are already known from the prior art and are used, for example, for locking the tailgate of a motor vehicle by means of a locking device formed by a rotary latch and a pawl, in that a locking bolt fixed to the body of the motor vehicle engages with the rotary latch of a locking device arranged on the tailgate. These known motor vehicle locks usually have a metal housing in which the locking device and the other components of the motor vehicle lock are accommodated. When installed in a motor vehicle, the motor vehicle lock with its metal housing must be covered by a flap or a cover in order to meet today's aesthetic appearance requirements for the motor vehicle. The installation of such a flap or screen proves to be disadvantageous here because special fastening possibilities are provided for the installation of the flap or screen, which increases the outlay and ultimately the production and installation costs.
Disclosure of Invention
The object of the present invention is to provide a solution which provides a motor vehicle lock in a structurally simple manner, which dispenses with a complex construction for the arrangement of a flap or a covering part, and which is inexpensive to produce.
In a motor vehicle lock of the type mentioned at the outset, the object is achieved according to the invention in that the pocket covering has an accommodating pocket which has an access opening on its side edge and a slot which extends in the direction of the center of the accommodating pocket on the side edge opposite the access opening, wherein the lock housing is arranged at least in sections with a slot-like recess in a manner that it can be inserted forward through the access opening into the accommodating pocket of the pocket covering, so that the rotary latch opening can be pivoted both into the slot-like recess of the lock housing and into the recess of the accommodating pocket for the fixed arrangement of the lock part of the motor vehicle.
Advantageous and expedient embodiments and refinements of the invention emerge from the following description.
The invention provides a motor vehicle lock for a rear hood of a motor vehicle, which is characterized by a functionally satisfactory structure and by a compact and low-cost construction. According to the invention, the lock housing is inserted at least in sections into the receiving pocket of the pocket-type covering, so that the pocket-type covering acts as a baffle, which improves the visual aesthetics of the motor vehicle lock. Furthermore, the pocket cover is an anti-collision protection and serves as a protection cover against damage to the lock housing.
In one embodiment of the invention, it is provided that the lock housing has a motor bearing space for mounting the electric drive motor, which is arranged on the opposite side of the lock housing from the slot-like recess, wherein the motor bearing space has at least two bearing points for mounting the electric drive motor and, in the direction of the slot-like recess, comprises a through-opening for inserting the electric drive motor into the motor bearing space. In this way, the electric drive motor is mounted in a protected manner on the lock housing.
According to a development of the invention, it is advantageous if the pocket-like covering has a motor receiving space which is open in the direction away from the slot for accommodating the electric drive motor in the motor receiving space, wherein the motor bearing space and the motor receiving space accommodate the electric drive motor. The electric drive motor is therefore completely enclosed by the motor receiving space and the motor bearing space, wherein an opening for a drive train of the electric drive motor can be formed in a wall of the motor receiving space and/or the motor bearing space, so that the electric drive motor can actuate the blocking device and/or the actuating lever mechanism.
In the embodiment of the invention, it is structurally particularly advantageous if the motor receiving space has at least two support projections which are of sheet-like configuration and form counter-bearings for the electric drive motor. In this way, the electric drive motor is not only reliably and stably supported and fixedly held, but also an exact orientation of the axis of the drive train relative to the gear of the spindle drive of the motor vehicle lock is advantageously achieved.
In a further embodiment of the invention, it is provided that at least one locking lug of convex design is formed on the outside of the lock housing and engages with at least one locking recess, which is formed on the pocket-like covering in a manner corresponding to the at least one locking lug, for fastening the pocket-like covering to the lock housing. The at least one latching lug can be designed in such a way that, prior to the engagement with the at least one latching recess, the at least one latching lug rests on a wall of the pocket-like covering, so that a pretensioning force is generated, by which the pocket-like covering is held securely on the lock housing for preassembly.
In order to finally fix the pocket-type covering to the lock housing, it is provided in a further embodiment of the invention that the pocket-type covering has at least one latching hook which hooks over (hingterefifen) a latching projection on the lock housing from behind in order to fix the pocket-type covering to the lock housing.
The pocket cover according to the present invention is a multifunctional cover, that is, the pocket cover provides various functions. In addition to the anti-collision protection and the aesthetic appearance of the lock housing, the pocket cover can additionally also serve to hold the noise-reducing damping element on a displacement opening of the lock housing, into which the locking pin is displaced in the locked state. In order to reduce noise when the locking pin is moved in, the invention provides in a further embodiment that the slot-like recess of the lock housing is bordered by a resiliently embodied movement-in damper (Einlaufpuffer), wherein the slot of the pocket-like covering secures the resiliently embodied movement-in damper to the lock housing.
With regard to the versatility of the pocket cover according to the invention, it is further provided that for the energy supply of the electric drive motor, a leadframe is configured to be snapped into (einclipsen) a receptacle on the lock housing, wherein the pocket cover is configured with a holding surface that presses the leadframe against the receptacle. The lead frame therefore no longer has to be mounted on the lock housing by caulking or similar fastening possibilities as has been the case hitherto. The invention is entirely sufficient if the lead frame is merely snapped into the holder provided for this purpose, wherein the holding surface of the pocket cover ensures a secure and positionally accurate fixing of the lead frame, so that the mounting effort and therefore the mounting costs can be significantly reduced.
Finally, in a further embodiment of the invention, it is advantageous if the pocket cover is made of a plastic material. As a result, a low-cost production can be achieved by injection molding, wherein additionally the weight of the entire motor vehicle lock can be kept low.
It is understood that the features mentioned above and those yet to be explained below can be used not only in the respectively indicated combination, but also in other combinations or alone without leaving the scope of the present invention.

Detailed Description
Fig. 1 schematically shows a motor vehicle 1 in the form of a passenger car, which has, by way of example, a trunk lid or tailgate 2, which can be locked and unlocked by a motor vehicle lock 3. Fig. 2 shows a perspective view of the motor vehicle lock 3 shown only by way of example in fig. 1. Fig. 3 shows the motor vehicle lock 3 in an enlarged view, wherein the bowden cable 4 shown in fig. 2 is omitted for the sake of overview. Fig. 4 to 10 show further details of the motor vehicle lock 3 according to the invention, which will be discussed below.
Referring to fig. 3, which shows the motor vehicle lock 3 with its main components, the motor vehicle lock has a locking device 5 with a rotary latch 6 with a rotary latch opening 6a and with a locking pawl 7, a plurality of operating lever mechanisms 8, an electric drive motor 9 (visible in fig. 7 and 8) which is designed for operating the locking device 5 and/or the operating lever mechanisms 8, and a box-shaped lock housing 10 in which the locking device 5, the operating lever mechanisms 8 and the electric drive motor 9 are accommodated. The rotary latch 6 and the locking pawl 7 cooperate in a manner known from the prior art in order to reliably lock the vehicle rear cover 2 in the locked state. Since the mode of operation of the rotary latch 6 and the locking pawl 7 is known from the prior art and is only lifted for the sake of completeness, the rotary latch 6 is mounted on the lock housing 10 so as to be rotatable about an axis of rotation, and the rotary latch opening 6a serves to receive a locking part, not shown in detail. Furthermore, the locking pawl 7 is mounted on the lock housing 10 so as to be pivotable about a further axis of rotation. The lock housing 10 is embodied in two parts in the exemplary embodiment shown, wherein the base housing 10a serves to support the aforementioned components, while the cover housing 10b serves primarily as a cover for the base housing 10 a. The base housing 10a and the cover housing 10b thus form a lock housing 10 of box-like construction.
The box-shaped lock housing 10 has a slot-like recess 12 on its lateral edge 11, which extends in the direction of the center of the lock housing 10. In order to lock the tailgate 2 of the motor vehicle 1, a lock part is dropped into the recess 12, which is secured and held by the locking device. For this purpose, the rotary latch 6 is supported in a known manner so that it can be pivoted into the recess 12 for securing a locking part arranged in the recess 12, as is known from the prior art, so that a detailed description thereof is not necessary.
According to the present invention, a pocket type covering member 14 having an accommodating pocket portion 15 is provided. The receiving pocket 15 serves to receive at least one section of the lock housing 10 having the recess 12. The receiving pocket 15 has an access opening 17 (see fig. 10, for example) on the lateral edge 16, through which the lock housing 10 can be moved at least in sections into the receiving pocket 15. A slot 18 is formed in a side edge 19 of the receiving pocket 15 opposite the inlet opening 17, which slot extends in the direction of the center of the receiving pocket 15. When the lock housing 10 is inserted into the receiving pocket 15 in sections, the recess 12 and the slot 18 are arranged substantially one above the other, so that when the locking part of the motor vehicle 1 is arranged there, the rotary latch 6 can be pivoted into the slot 18 and the recess 12 in order to lock the tailgate 2. In other words, the lock housing 10 is arranged at least in sections with the slot-like recess 12 inserted forward through the access opening 17 into the receiving pocket 15 of the pocket-like covering 14, so that the rotary latch opening 6a can be pivoted not only into the slot-like recess 12 of the lock housing 10, but also into the slot 18 of the receiving pocket 15 for the fixed arrangement of a lock part of the motor vehicle 1 for locking the tailgate 2.
In order that the lock part does not generate undesirable noise when it is moved into the slot-shaped recess 12, the slot-shaped recess 12 of the lock housing 10 is bordered by a spring-like displacement damping element 20 (see, for example, fig. 6 and 7). The elastic displacement damping element 20 is a separate component and is pressed into the slot-like recess 12 and clamped there. Without the pocket-like covering 14, there is the risk that the elastic inward-movement damping element 20 could become detached during the installation of the motor vehicle lock 3 on the motor vehicle 1 and fall out of the recess 12. This risk is prevented by the pocket-like cover 14, since the slit 18 of the pocket-like cover 14 secures the elastically designed displacement damper 20 to the lock housing 10 and, as soon as the pocket-like cover 14 is displaced onto the lock housing 10, holds the displacement damper 20 in the slit 18 in a compressed manner, as is shown, for example, in fig. 9, in which the state during the installation of the pocket-like cover 14 and the lock housing 10 is shown. In the position shown in fig. 9, the lock housing 10 has been moved so far into the receiving pocket 15 of the pocket cover 14 that the inserted damping element 20 can no longer fall out of the recess 12.
In order to prevent the pocket-like covering 14 from sliding off the lock housing 10 after installation and to be securely fastened to the lock housing 10, in the exemplary embodiment shown, three latching lugs 21 are formed on the side wall sections on the outside of the lock housing 10, which lugs project from the side wall sections of the lock housing 10, as is shown, for example, in fig. 6. The latching lugs 21 engage with latching recesses 22, which are formed correspondingly on the pocket cover 14 (see, for example, the lower illustration of fig. 6). The latching lugs 21 move on the inside against the walls of the pocket cover 14 when the lock housing 10 is mounted on the pocket cover 14 until the latching lugs 21 enter the latching recesses 22 and catch the respective edges of the latching recesses 22 there from behind.
The fastening of the pocket-like covering 14 to the lock housing 10 is furthermore increased by means of latching hooks 23 which are formed laterally on the pocket-like covering 14, as shown, for example, in fig. 6. When the pocket cover 14 is mounted on the lock housing 10, the latching hook 23 hooks behind a latching projection 24 on the lock housing 10, which latching projection is formed in the form of an edge of the lock housing 10 in the exemplary embodiment shown. The connection established by the latching hooks 23 and the latching projections 24 is used here not only solely for fastening the pocket cover 14 to the lock housing 10. The lead frame 25 should therefore be held more securely. The lead frame serves to supply the electric drive motor 9 with energy and is snapped into a receptacle 26 formed on the lock housing 10. The receptacle 26 may be a recess formed in the material of the lock housing 10, which has the contour of the lead frame 25. In order to hold the lead frame 25 securely on the lock housing 10, the pocket cover 14 has a holding surface 27 (see fig. 6, for example) on which the latching hooks 23 are formed. The holding surface 27 thus covers the lead frame 25 and thereby fixes the lead frame 25 to the lock housing 10. In other words, the pocket cover 14 is configured with a holding surface 27 that presses the lead frame 25 into the receptacle 26.
The pocket cover 14 has another function as described below. The lock housing 10 has a motor support space 28 for supporting the electric drive motor 9, as can be seen from fig. 7, in which a front wall portion of the lock housing 10 is cut away in order to see the drive motor 9. The motor bearing space 28 is arranged on the opposite side of the lock housing 10 to the slot-like recess 12 (see fig. 5, for example). The motor bearing space 28 has two bearing points 28a, 28b for supporting the electric drive motor 9. Furthermore, the motor bearing space 28 has a through-opening 29 in the direction of the slot-shaped recess 12 for inserting the electric drive motor 9 into the motor bearing space 28. In order to prevent the electric drive motor 9 from moving out of the through-opening 29, the pocket cover 14 has a motor receiving chamber 30. The motor receiving space 30 is designed to be open for accommodating the electric drive motor 9 in the direction away from the slot 18. The motor bearing space 28 and the wall of the motor receiving space 30 therefore enclose the electric drive motor 9 and enclose the drive motor 9 in such a way that the drive motor 9 is arranged in a protected manner in all spatial directions. The motor receiving chamber 30 has two support projections 31a and 31b, which are of sheet-like design and form mating bearings for the bearing points 28a, 28 b.
In summary, a motor vehicle lock 3 or a motor vehicle lock device 3 is described above, which comprises a locking device 5, an operating lever mechanism 8, an electric drive motor 9 configured for operating the locking device 5 and/or the operating lever mechanism 8, and a box-shaped lock housing 10, which has a rotary latch 6 with a rotary latch opening 6a and has a locking pawl 7, in which the locking device 5, the operating lever mechanism 8 and the electric drive motor 9 are accommodated, wherein the box-shaped lock housing 10 has a slot-like recess 12 on its lateral edge 11, which recess extends in the direction of the center of the lock housing 10. The pocket cover 14 has an accommodating pocket 15 with an access opening 17 on a side edge 16 and a slot 18 on a side edge 19 opposite the access opening 17, which slot extends in the direction of the center of the accommodating pocket 15, wherein the lock housing 10 is arranged at least in sections with the slot-like recess 12 in such a way that it can be inserted forward through the access opening 17 into the accommodating pocket 15 of the pocket cover 14, so that the rotary latch opening 6a can be pivoted both into the slot-like recess 12 of the lock housing 10 and into the slot 18 of the accommodating pocket 15 for fixing the lock part of the motor vehicle 1. The pocket cover 14 is formed from a plastics material which keeps the weight of the motor vehicle lock as a whole low.
It goes without saying that the invention described above is not limited to the embodiments described and shown. It will be observed that numerous modifications, which are readily imaginable to those skilled in the art in view of the applications considered, can be made to the embodiments shown in the drawings without thereby departing from the scope of protection of the present invention. All those contained in the description and/or shown in the drawings are intended to be encompassed by the present invention, including those that differ from the specific embodiments and which would be readily apparent to one skilled in the art.
