Description

Bearing for mounting a roll bar on a bogie frame and corresponding bogie
Technical Field
The present invention relates to a bearing for mounting a roll bar on a bogie frame, the roll bar extending along a transverse axis of the bogie and being rotationally movable relative to the frame about the axis, the bearing comprising a first half-shell for mechanical fixing to the frame and a second half-shell adapted to be attached to the first half-shell by an attachment system, the first half-shell and the second half-shell then forming an outer shell which traverses along the axis (cross through) and is adapted to receive the roll bar.
The invention also relates to a bogie integrating at least two bearings as described above.
Background
The use of at least one roll bar in a railway car truck is known, the roll bar extending laterally for limiting rolling of the railway car at the associated truck level.
The roll bar is typically attached to the frame of the bogie by two bearings. Each of the bearings includes a machined first portion located in the frame and thus formed of material with the frame, and a second portion for attachment to the first portion, the roll bar being confined between the first and second portions.
The first part forms a half-shell which is rather difficult to machine and for which the manufacturing therefore takes some time. This results in a relatively high manufacturing cost per mounting bearing and therefore of the present bogie.
Disclosure of Invention
It is therefore an object of the present invention to wholly or partly overcome the aforementioned disadvantages, i.e. to reduce the costs associated with mounting the roll bar on the bogie frame.
To this end, the object of the present invention is a bearing for mounting of the type described above, in which the first half-shell is separate from the frame (distint) and is suitable for being attached to the frame by means of a second attachment system.
According to a particular embodiment, the bearing comprises one or several of the following features, obtained according to all technically possible combinations:
the second attachment system comprises an attachment screw passing through the first half-shell and intended to be screwed into the frame;
the first and second half-shells are structurally similar to each other (analogue);
the first and second attachment systems are identical and are formed by attachment screws passing through the first and second half-shells;
the first and second half-shells are arranged symmetrically with respect to a median plane of the bearing, which median plane passes through the axis;
each of the first and second half-shells comprises: a central portion forming a semi-cylindrical cradle, and two attachment lugs located on either side of the central portion in a direction substantially perpendicular to the axis, each attachment lug comprising at least one perforation provided for the first attachment system and/or the second attachment system;
the attachment lugs of the first half-shell comprise respectively two support surfaces for pressing respectively on two projections of the frame; and
the first and second attachment systems are each formed by two pairs of attachment screws, which pairs are each attached in an attachment lug.
The object of the invention is also a bogie comprising:
-a frame for supporting the frame,
at least two bearings as described above, and
at least one roll bar, housed in a housing formed by two bearings.
According to a particular embodiment, the frame comprises at least four projections, each of the first half-shells being attached to two of said projections.
Drawings
The invention will be better understood on reading the following description, given by way of example only and made with reference to the accompanying drawings, in which:
figure 1 is a partial view of a bogie according to the invention, an
Figure 2 is a perspective view of one of the roll bar and the bearing shown in figure 1.
Detailed Description
With reference to fig. 1 and 2, a bogie 1 according to the invention is described. The bogie 1 is used as a component of a railway vehicle (not shown).
The bogie 1 comprises a frame 5, which is partially shown in fig. 1, at least two bearings 10A and 10B and at least one roll bar 15 accommodated in the two bearings.
The frame 5 comprises at least four protrusions 17, two of which are visible in fig. 2, the other two protrusions being similar to the two shown.
The protrusion 17 shown in fig. 2 is suitable for attachment of the bearing 10A. The protrusion 17 is machined in the frame 5 and advantageously the protrusion 17 has a simple shape to be machined, e.g. without any recessed parts.
Each projection 17 comprises a face 19 adapted to cooperate with one of the bearings 10A, 10B.
Two protrusions 17, not shown in fig. 2, are suitable for attachment of the bearing 10B.
The roll bar 15 extends along an axis T which is substantially transverse with respect to the bogie 1. The roll bar 15 moves rotationally about the axis T relative to the frame 5 due to the rolling. In the present example, the roll bar 15 is connected to the arms 21 at both of its lateral ends.
Advantageously, the bearings 10A, 10B are similar to each other, and in addition, only the bearing 10A better seen in fig. 2 will be described hereinafter.
The bearing 10A forms a housing 23, the housing 23 traversing along the axis T and being suitable for housing the roll bar 15. The bearing 10A comprises a first half-shell 25 and a second half-shell 27, the first half-shell 25 being adapted to be attached to the frame 5, the second half-shell 27 being adapted to be attached to the first half-shell. The bearing 10A further comprises a first attachment system 29A and a second attachment system 29B, the first attachment system 29A being used to attach the second half-shell 27 to the first half-shell 25, the second attachment system 29B being used to attach the first half-shell to the frame 5.
Advantageously, the first attachment system 29A and the second attachment system 29B are identical and are formed with attachment screws 29.
Advantageously, the first and second half- shells 25 and 27 are similar to each other and are arranged symmetrically with respect to the median plane P of the bearing 10A.
For example, the median plane P is parallel to the axis T and to the face 19 of the projection 17. Advantageously, the median plane P contains the axis T.
For example, there are four attachment screws 29 in total. The attachment screws 29 pass through the second half-shell 27 and then through the first half-shell 25 and are screwed into the projections 17 of the frame 5.
Only the first half-shell 25 will be described in detail hereinafter.
The first half-shell 25 comprises a central portion 31 forming a semi-cylindrical cradle and two attachment lugs 33, 35, the two attachment lugs 33, 35 being located on either side of the central portion along a direction D substantially perpendicular to the axis T.
For example, the direction D is parallel to the median plane P.
Each attachment lug 33, 35 comprises two perforations 37 adapted to receive an attachment screw 29.
The two attachment lugs 33, 35 extend in the direction D with an extension of each other.
The attachment lugs 33, 35 of the first half-shell 25 comprise two support surfaces 39, 41, respectively, which support surfaces 39, 41 press against the surfaces 19 of the projections 17, respectively.
The support surfaces 39, 41 are substantially parallel to the median plane P.
For example, the perforations 37 are formed perpendicular to the mid-plane P.
Now, the mounting of the roll bar 15 on the frame 5 of the bogie 1 will be described.
Four protrusions 17 are machined in the frame 5 beforehand.
Next, the first half-shells 25 of the bearings 10A, 10B are arranged on the projections 17, respectively. The support faces 19, 41 of the attachment lugs 33, 35 are in contact with the face 19 of the projection 17. The central portion 31 of each first half-shell 25 is directed towards the frame 5.
The roll bar 15 is then arranged on the bracket formed by the central portion 31 of the first half shell 25 of each of the bearings 10A, 10B.
Next, the second half-shell 27 is arranged on the first half-shell 25, as shown in fig. 2. The central portion 31 of the second half-shell 27 is directed opposite the frame 5 so that the housing 23 has a circular cross-section for each of the bearings 10A, 10B.
Finally, the attachment screws 29 are placed in the through holes 37 aligned with the attachment lugs 33, 35 of the first and second half- shells 25, 27 and screwed into the projections 17.
Then, the roll bar 15 is hidden in the housing 23 of the bearings 10A, 10B.
By the above features, the cost of the bogie 1 is reduced. In fact, the projections 17 are easy to machine and the first and second half- shells 25, 27 of each bearing 10A, 10B are easy to manufacture.
Unlike the prior art, the bearings 10A, 10B according to the present invention do not comprise any machined bent portions in the frame 5 of the bogie 1.
Further, the optional feature according to which the second half-shell 27 is similar to the first half-shell 25 gives the possibility of producing only a single type of half-shell for manufacturing the bearings 10A, 10B.
Further, the first attachment system 29A and the second attachment system 29B are identical, jointly making the attachment of the first half-shell 25 and the second half-shell 27.
