Description

Skin treatment device with vibrating element
Technical Field
The present invention relates to the field of hair removing devices comprising a rotating cylinder with jaws for plucking unwanted hairs from the human body, and more particularly to a hair remover comprising a massage mechanism which produces an anti-pain effect.
Background
Hair removal devices with plucking jaws generally comprise jaws in the form of lamellae or discs, which are arranged on a rotating cylinder, which are periodically closed and opened in order to grasp and clamp hairs near the skin in order to pluck them out by rotation of the cylinder and subsequently to clear the plucked hairs before starting a new plucking cycle. Plucking of hair has proven to be a very effective method of preventing hair regrowth, but it often produces non-negligible pain.
Such an anti-pain function on hair removing devices has been described in the applicant's document EP1294249, which describes a hair remover with a movable element in the form of a pad and having a substantially flat or convex or comprising a convex surface, said movable element having a movement in the plane of the skin. This document has shown that, when testing different persons, it was found that the action of massaging hard the sensitive areas induced by pain by friction can quickly alleviate the pain felt during the clip removal.
Another applicant's document EP1782709 describes a depilation apparatus comprising a removable depilation head, and the depilation head is interchangeable with a shaving head. The cutter head comprises a fixed blade and a movable blade, the movable blade being driven by a vibrating element to translate in a direction parallel to the axis of the hair-removing cylinder. According to the invention, the vibrating element is fixed with respect to the casing of the device and is driven by a cam which recovers the movement of the motor through a gear train, the cam itself also being fixed with respect to the casing. This document discloses a razor adjacent to an anti-pain mechanism driven by a cam capable of directly converting the motion of a motor into a translational movement.
These solutions allow to effectively produce a massage and anti-pain effect on the skin to be depilated. However, these solutions, like most hair removing devices equipped with an anti-pain function, have a complicated structure and high manufacturing costs.
Disclosure of Invention
It is an object of the present invention to overcome the above-mentioned disadvantages and to provide a hair removing device which has a reliable, structurally simple pain prevention mechanism and which can be mass-produced at low production costs.
Another object of the present invention is to provide a hair removing device which is efficient and highly effective in use, and which allows to pluck hairs which are always closest to the skin for better hair removing effect.
These objects are achieved by a skin and/or hair treatment device comprising:
a housing containing an electric motor connected to a transmission mechanism,
-a treatment head connected with the housing and comprising:
-a hollow body defining a process chamber open at a process window,
-a processing means arranged inside the processing chamber and driven in rotation about an axis Δ by the transmission means,
-a cover plate which is movable in rotation about said axis Δ and which comprises a supporting base which defines a surface (S) in contact with the skin to be treated.
According to the invention, the cover comprises, in the extension of the support base, at least one elongated element, the longitudinal symmetry axis Δ' of which is orthogonal to the axis Δ, one end (E1) of which is connected to the support base and the opposite end (E2) of which is intended to come into contact with the skin to be treated.
The elongated member is used to enhance the vibration of the cover and to transmit the vibration to the skin to create the stimulus. The user thus experiences less pain due to skin treatment (e.g. hair extraction) to the user.
According to one embodiment of the invention, the handling mechanism is a hair-removing cylinder comprising a set of tongs. The jaws open and close as the drum rotates about the axis Δ. Thus, in the case of a hair removing apparatus.
Advantageously, the treatment head comprises angular sector defining means, which surround the axis Δ and are intended to open and close the jaws of the hair-removing cylinder.
In addition, the contact surface (S) is tangent to a rotating cylinder (C) around an axis Δ, inside which the depilation cylinder is located.
Advantageously, the removable cover is associated with means for defining the angular sector so as to ensure that the position of the angular sector with respect to the epilation head is modified according to the orientation of the removable cover.
In order to ensure good transmission of the vibrations of the cover, the element has a shape curved towards the outside of the housing at the opposite end (E2).
Also in the case of a hair-removing device, and according to a first variant of the invention, the length of said element is between 20mm and 30mm, preferably 25 mm.
Alternatively, the ratio of the width of the treatment window in the direction of the axis Δ to the length of the element is between 1 and 1.6.
According to a second variant, the cover plate comprises a U-shaped frame surrounding the elements so as not to be damaged during drop tests or use tests.
In this variant, the length of the element is between 20mm and 35mm, preferably 30 mm.
Alternatively, the ratio of the width of the treatment window in the direction of axis Δ to the length of the element is between 0.9 and 1.6.
In order to enhance the stimulation and to improve the pain relief, the cover plate comprises a plurality of elements parallel to each other having the same length. This allows a larger area to be treated to be covered.
Advantageously, the elements are arranged coplanar for better distribution of the vibrations over the skin.
In addition, the cover plate is made of a plastic one-piece part.

Detailed Description
A device for the treatment of skin and/or hair in the form of an electrical and mechanical hair-removing device as shown in figures 1 and 2, comprising a hollow casing, indicated as a whole by the reference numeral 1, which is constituted by two integral half-shells 2 and 3 which define, on the one hand, the grip area of the hair-remover as a whole by its outer surface and, on the other hand, the casing which encloses and holds the different functional elements constituting the hair-remover. The housing 1 therefore contains an electric motor 4 which is connected to a transmission 5 which transmits the rotational movement of the gear wheel of the output of the electric motor 4. According to the example shown, said transmission 5 comprises a gear set having an axis parallel to the rotation axis of the motor.
The housing 1 is equipped with a treatment head, which is a hair removal head 10 according to the example shown, comprising a hollow body 11 defining a treatment chamber 12 inside which a hair removal drum 13 is provided, which is aligned with a window 14 arranged in the hollow housing 11. The depilation drum 13 is rotationally movable itself about an axis Δ and is driven in rotation by the motor 4 via a drive or transmission 5. The de-hairing cylinder 13 comprises at its periphery a set of jaws which open and close with the rotation of the cylinder. In order for the jaws to be open when they are brought into alignment with the window 14 and to be closed when they are brought into alignment and just before leaving the hair-removing window 14, the hair-removing head 10 comprises angular sector defining means 15 for opening O and closing F of the jaws. The O and F angular sector defining means 15 are for example formed by one or more cams coupled to coinciding cam tracks. The embodiments of the clamp and of the O and F angular sector defining means 15 are clearly understood by the person skilled in the art and therefore do not need to be described more fully here.
As mentioned above, the depilation cylinder 13 is aligned with the window 14 arranged in the body 11 of the depilation head 10. According to the example shown, the window 14 is defined, on the one hand, by two longitudinal edges 20,21 parallel to each other and to the rotation axis Δ of the drum 13, and, on the other hand, by two transverse edges 22,23 parallel to each other and having an arc shape, while being contained in a plane perpendicular to the rotation axis Δ. One of the longitudinal edges, here the lower edge 20, is fixed and is formed by the fixed edge of the depilation head 10 or by the fixed edge of the housing 1. According to the invention, the other longitudinal edge, here the upper edge 21, is mobile and is formed by a cover plate 25 that is mobile in rotation about the axis Δ. The removable cover 25 comprises a support base 26 extending in the extension of the removable longitudinal edge 21 opposite the hair-removal window 14. The base 26 thus defines a surface S in contact with the skin of the area to be depilated. The contact surface S defined by the base 26 is preferably substantially tangential to a rotating cylinder C around an axis Δ, inside which the depilation cylinder 13 is located.
In order to ensure as good a plucking of the hairs as possible of the area to be depilated, irrespective of the inclination of the housing 1 or of the depilating head 10 relative to the skin P, said flap 25 is preferably associated with an angular sector-defining mechanism 15 for the opening and closing of the jaws. The defining means 15 are thus movable in rotation about the axis Δ and follow the changes in the inclination of the housing or of the hair-removing head relative to the skin of the area to be depilated. The movable cover plate 25, which is in contact with the hair-removing cylinder 13, is subjected to frictional forces when the hair-removing cylinder is moved, which produces vertical vibrations of the movable cover plate 25. The direction of rotation of the depilation cylinder 13 is such that the friction forces tend to bring the removable cover 25 towards the skin.
In order to bring about an anti-pain effect during the hair removal process, the removable cover comprises at least one elongated element 6, which in the case shown is a longitudinal bar 6, which allows to transmit and reinforce the vibrations of the cover. The bars 6 are arranged along their symmetry axis Δ', which is orthogonal to the axis Δ. According to the example shown, a plurality of identical rods are present on the cover plate in order to cover a larger area to be treated.
According to a first variant, shown in figures 1 to 3, each bar 6 comprises two ends, one end (E1) being connected to the support base 26. The opposite end (E2) is free and allows to transform the movement of the flap 25 into a vibration which produces a pain-preventing sensation on the skin. In order to intensify the vibrations while keeping the apparatus reasonably voluminous, the length of each rod 6 is between 20mm and 30 mm. As shown in fig. 2, each rod 6 may have a shape 61 at the opposite end (E2) that allows close contact between the opposite end (E2) and the skin to be depilated. May relate to a shape that curves towards the skin. The opposite end (E2) may also include a hook or protrusion facing the skin.
According to a second variant of the invention, shown in fig. 4, said removable cover 25 comprises a U-shaped frame 7, which is connected by its two ends to a supporting base 26. A set of bars 6 is arranged inside the frame and has a length less than that of the first variant, i.e. between 20 and 35 mm.
The longitudinal bars 6 are preferably made of a plastic material having a certain flexibility which is advantageous for vibrations. To facilitate the manufacture of the device and to optimise costs, the stem 6 comes from being moulded at the same time as the flap 25 and is formed in a single piece with the flap.
The thus constituted hair removal apparatus is used in the following manner. After activating the motor 4, as shown in fig. 3, the user places the depilation head 10 against the skin P of the area to be depilated, as shown in fig. 3. The user moves the head against the skin P in the direction of arrow F1 so that the base 26 is located upstream of the window 14 with which the hair-removing roller 13 is aligned. The base 26 and its surface S thus ensure a slight pressure on the skin P, which helps to lift the hairs, and facilitates the catching and plucking of the hairs by the jaws of the hair-removing roller in contact with the skin P at the window 14. In the case of a cover plate 25 and a base plate 26 movable about an axis of rotation Δ, the cover plate and the base plate can follow a slight oscillation of the housing 1, indicated by the arrow F2, initiated by the user when moving the depilation device. Therefore, the support base 26 and the hair removing roller 13 are always kept in contact with the skin P of the area to be depilated. The bar 6, substantially aligned with the support base, also maintains contact with the skin in order to transmit the vibrations of the removable cover 25. The opposite end (E2) subjected to greater movement allows to bring irritation to the skin in order to alleviate the pain due to the hair removal. The hook or tab shape 61 allows a more effective pain relief effect to be achieved.
The extension element 6 can also have other shapes, for example a sheet shape allowing better flexibility and greater vibration reinforcement.
Naturally, various other modifications can be made to the invention within the scope of the appended claims.
