4. A compact undersink system as in claim 1, wherein said engagement point is wedge-shaped and has an inclined surface with a bottom portion adjacent the vertical drain and a top portion adjacent a side facing away from the vertical drain.
5. A compact underdrain system as defined in claim 1, wherein said vertical drain pipe has at least two apertures formed in a wall thereof, each aperture having a detent formed therein.
