Background
The battery module is formed by combining lithium ion cells in a serial-parallel connection mode, and is additionally provided with a single battery monitoring and managing device. The structural design of the battery module often determines the performance and safety of a battery pack. The structure must support, fix and protect the cell. The lithium battery module is a plurality of modules formed by connecting several to hundreds of battery cores in parallel and in series, and besides the mechanism design part, a battery management system and a thermal management system can form a complete lithium battery pack system. Generally, the automated assembly process of the module begins with the cell loading, whether it is a soft pack, square, cylindrical or 18650 type battery.
At present, a material tray for production in the battery module processing and assembling industry is provided with a groove on the surface of the tray, materials are placed in the groove, the materials are prevented from tilting and dumping, and the materials are carried for transfer, flow pulling and turnover.
The battery module materials mainly have the following procedures in the turnover, processing and assembling processes:
the material handling method comprises the following steps of (1) grabbing materials by an XYZ module, manually grabbing materials, grabbing materials by a robot, placing the materials into a tray (without a positioning function), loading the materials to a specified position by the tray, grabbing the materials by the XYZ module, grabbing the materials by the robot, placing the materials to a positioning mechanism for secondary positioning, processing and assembling the materials, grabbing the materials by the XYZ module, grabbing the materials by the robot, placing the materials into the tray (without a positioning function), and loading the materials by the tray for stream pulling.
At present, a material tray of a production line for processing and assembling lithium battery modules is simply designed into a groove, battery module materials are placed on the material tray, gaps between the module materials and the groove of the tray are very large, assembly or processing operation cannot be directly realized on the tray, a positioning mechanism is not provided, an active positioning function is not provided, and only the functions of material transferring, material flowing and material transferring are carried out. If the materials are to be processed with high precision, a secondary positioning mechanism and a material transferring mechanism for transferring the materials from the material tray to the secondary positioning mechanism are required to be installed on the equipment. The following problems are mainly present:
1. the material is placed in the tray recess, and the clearance is very big, and unilateral precision reaches more than 1mm, can't directly realize assembly and processing operation on the tray.
2. Because the device needs to be transferred onto the secondary positioning mechanism of the device from the tray, the device needs to be transferred onto the tray from the secondary positioning mechanism after the processing is finished, the control program is complex, the development difficulty of the device is increased, and the loopholes of the control program are easy to form.
3. The secondary positioning mechanism of the production line equipment and the grabbing/robot grabbing mechanism of the XYZ module are added, the equipment mechanism is complex, and the equipment development cost is increased.
4. The material transfer actions are excessive, and the efficiency is reduced.

The tray has certain compatibility to various battery modules, can be designed according to the actual sizes of the modules, and is used for placing the number of the battery modules and designing according to the needs and the sizes of the machine table tops. The tray can be used for turnover and sharing among the assembly line, each production procedure and the warehouse.
According to the invention, the materials of the production line are quickly placed on the positioning tray, and the tray is quickly positioned in two directions with high precision through the equipment cylinder, so that high-precision assembly or processing operation is directly executed on the tray, the mechanism of the equipment is effectively simplified, and the operation efficiency is improved.
