Description

Channel bundling method and device
Technical Field
The present invention relates to communications technologies, and in particular, to a channel bundling method and apparatus.
Background
With the development of Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN) technology, the 802.11n standard proposes the concept of channel bundling, such as: two 20MHz channels can be spread into a 40MHz channel by channel bonding. In the Channel bundling technique, a Clear Channel Assessment (CCA) technique is important.
Clear Channel Assessment (CCA) technology marks the state of a Channel by monitoring the strength of a signal in the Channel, and if the strength exceeds a Clear Channel Assessment threshold, the state of the Channel is marked as a busy state, otherwise, the state of the Channel is marked as a Clear state. Therefore, the determination of the CCA threshold in the CCA technology determines the status of the channel, and channel bundling can be effectively performed only if the CCA threshold is accurately located.
In the prior art, CCA thresholds set by the 802.11n standard and the 802.11ac standard are fixed values, and in this case, an Access Point (AP for short) cannot accurately know the current state of a channel, so that effective channel bundling cannot be performed, and transmission concurrency and system throughput are reduced.

Detailed Description
In order to make the objects, technical solutions and advantages of the embodiments of the present invention clearer, the technical solutions in the embodiments of the present invention will be clearly and completely described below with reference to the drawings in the embodiments of the present invention, and it is obvious that the described embodiments are some, but not all, embodiments of the present invention. All other embodiments, which can be derived by a person skilled in the art from the embodiments given herein without making any creative effort, shall fall within the protection scope of the present invention.
The technical scheme of the invention is established on the Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN) technology. In order to solve the problems that in the prior art, an AP cannot accurately know the current state of a channel, and thus cannot perform effective channel bundling, and further reduces the concurrency of transmission and the throughput of a system, an embodiment of the present invention provides a channel bundling method, which specifically includes:
example one
Fig. 1 is a flowchart of a channel bundling method according to an embodiment of the present invention, where an execution subject of the method is an AP, and an application scenario of the method is to prepare for the AP to bundle at least one channel with an STA, where the method specifically includes:
s101: the access point AP determines at least one of an average value of Received Signal Strength Indication (RSSI), interference suffered by the AP and interference suffered by the STA of any one channel between the AP and the station STA within a preset time period, wherein the average value of the RSSI of any one channel is as follows: the average value of the RSSI of all uplink radio frames on any channel in a preset time period;
s102: the AP determines a CCA threshold corresponding to any one channel according to at least one of the average value of the RSSI of the any one channel, the interference suffered by the AP and the interference suffered by the STA;
s103: the AP detects a current signal on any one channel and judges whether a preset condition is met, wherein the preset condition is as follows: the power value of the current channel is less than or equal to the CCA threshold value corresponding to any channel;
s104: and the AP binds all the channels meeting the preset conditions and sends downlink radio frames through the bound channels.
Specifically, channel bundling may improve the concurrency of transmissions and improve the throughput of the system, but is not suitable for channel bundling in any situation, such as: when the distance between a plurality of APs is short, interference between channels is easily caused, and in this case, channel bundling is not suitable, so that accurately determining the CCA threshold directly affects whether the AP is to perform channel bundling or not, and determines which channels the AP is to perform channel bundling.
The embodiment of the present invention dynamically determines the CCA threshold, and the CCA threshold is determined mainly by counting at least one of an average value of Received Signal Strength indications (RSSI for short) of any one channel between the AP and the STA in a preset time period, interference suffered by the AP, and interference suffered by the STA, where the average value of the RSSI of any one channel is: the average value of the RSSI of all uplink radio frames on any channel in a preset time period, for example: the average RSSI of the main channel between the AP and the STA is the average RSSI of all uplink radio frames transmitted on the main channel within a preset time period, usually the RSSI is in the Media Access Control (MAC) header of the radio frame, in addition, the interference suffered by the AP can be determined according to the RSSI of the wireless frame at the intersection of the Basic Service Set (BSS) where the AP is located and other BSSs, the interference suffered by the STA can also be determined by the STA calculating the RSSI of the wireless frame at the intersection of the BSS where the STA is located and other BSSs, the CCA threshold corresponding to each channel in the preset time period is determined by determining the above three factors, and of course, the CCA threshold is also determined in the next preset time period by the same method, and each preset time period selected in the embodiment of the present invention may be the same or different, which is not limited herein. After the AP determines the CCA threshold corresponding to each channel through at least one of the three factors, the AP detects energy of a current signal on each channel, that is, a power value of the current signal, and when a preset condition is met, that is, the power value is less than or equal to the corresponding CCA threshold, it indicates that the corresponding channel is a clear channel, so that the AP may bundle all the clear channels. Next, the AP may transmit a downlink radio frame over the bundled channel pair.
The embodiment of the invention provides a channel bundling method, which comprises the following steps: firstly, the AP determines at least one of the average value of the RSSI of any channel between the AP and a station STA, the interference suffered by the AP and the interference suffered by the STA in a preset time period, and secondly, the AP determines a CCA threshold value corresponding to any channel according to at least one of the average value of the RSSI of any channel, the interference suffered by the AP and the interference suffered by the STA; and finally, the AP binds the channels which meet the condition that the power value of the current signal is less than or equal to the CCA threshold value corresponding to any one channel, and sends downlink wireless frames through the bound channels. According to the embodiment of the invention, the average RSSI value of the channel and the interference suffered by the AP are integrated, the interference suffered by the STA is further combined, and the CCA threshold corresponding to the channel in the preset time period is finally determined, so that channel binding is effectively realized, and the concurrency of transmission and the throughput of a system are further improved.
Example two
Based on the foregoing embodiment, further, the foregoing step S102 specifically includes: the AP calculates the CCA threshold according to CCA + K + a × ave _ RSSI-b × interference1-c × interference 2; the CCA represents a CCA threshold corresponding to any one channel, ave _ RSSI represents an average value of the RSSI of any one channel, interference1 represents interference suffered by the AP, interference2 represents interference suffered by the STA, K is a constant, a is 0 or 1, b is 0 or 1, c is 0 or 1, and a, b and c are not 0 at the same time. Typically K can be taken to be-85 dBm.
Such as: when K is 0, a is 0, b is 0, and c is 1, the above formula is: CCA _ RSSI-interference2, which is equivalent to not considering the factor that the AP is interfered with.
For another example: when K is 0, a is 0, b is 1, and c is 0, the above formula is: CCA _ RSSI-interference1, which is equivalent to not considering the interference to the STA.
Of course, K may be 0, a may be 1, b may be 0, c may be 0, K may be 0, a may be 0, b may be 1, c may be 0, K may be 0, a may be 0, b may be 0, c may be 1, as long as K is a constant, a may be 0, b may be 0, and c may be 1, and a, b, and c may not be 0 at the same time.
Optionally, the AP determines the interference suffered by the AP, including: the AP determines that the average value of the RSSI of all the wireless frames transmitted in all the first overlapped basic service sets OBSS in a preset time period is the interference suffered by the AP, the first OBSS is the intersection of a first basic service set BSS where the AP is located and a second BSS, and the second BSS is any BSS which does not include the AP.
For example: fig. 2 is a first network topology structure diagram according to an embodiment of the present invention, as shown in fig. 2, a first BSS where an AP is located and two second BSSs that do not include the AP respectively have an intersection, where the intersection is a first OBSS, and in combination with fig. 2, interference received by the AP in a preset time period is an average value of RSSI of all radio frames transmitted in the two first OBSSs.
Optionally, the AP determines interference suffered by the STA, including: the AP receives the average value of the RSSI of all the wireless frames transmitted in all the second overlapped basic service sets OBSS within a preset time period and sent by the STA; the AP determines that the average value of the RSSI of all the wireless frames transmitted in the second OBSS is the interference suffered by the STA, the second OBSS is the intersection of a third basic service set BSS where the STA is located and a fourth BSS, and the fourth BSS is any BSS which does not include the STA.
For example: fig. 3 is a network topology structure diagram of a second embodiment of the present invention, as shown in fig. 3, an intersection exists between a third BSS where the STA is located and two fourth BSSs, where the intersection is the second OBSS, and in combination with fig. 3, interference received by the STA within a preset time is an average value of RSSI of all radio frames transmitted in the two second OBSSs.
Further, after the STA determines an average value of the RSSI of all the radio frames transmitted in the second OBSS, the STA carries the average value to the MAC header of the radio Frame and sends the average value to the AP, specifically, fig. 4 is a schematic structural diagram of the radio Frame according to an embodiment of the present invention, as shown in fig. 4, the radio Frame includes Frame control, duration or identifier, address 1, address 2, address 3, Sequence control, Frame body, address 4, Frame Check (FCS), and the like, where the average value of the RSSI is carried in the Frame body. Each STA typically transmits a radio frame including an average of the RSSI to the AP once every predetermined period of time.
Further, it is described below in which cases channel bonding can be performed:
fig. 5 is a first network topology structure diagram before and after channel bonding according to an embodiment of the present invention, where the left side is the topology structure diagram before channel bonding, and the right side is the topology structure diagram after channel bonding, and a square root between the two indicates that channel bonding can be performed, and in conjunction with fig. 5, because the distance between three APs is long, that is, interference1 suffered by each AP is small, according to the formula: the CCA — K + a × ave _ RSSI-b × interference1-c × interference2 may be a CCA threshold that is larger, that is, a loose CCA policy may be adopted, where the CCA threshold of which channel is not distinguished is larger, but the CCA thresholds of all channels are larger, in this case, the current signal detected by the AP is usually easier to be smaller than or equal to the CCA threshold, and therefore, channel bundling may be performed in this case.
Fig. 6 is a second network topology structure diagram before and after channel bonding according to an embodiment of the present invention, where the left side is the topology structure diagram before channel bonding and the right side is the topology structure diagram after channel bonding, and a gamma between the two topology structure diagrams indicates that channel bonding is not possible, and in combination with fig. 6, because the distance between three APs is relatively short, that is, the interference1 suffered by each AP is relatively large, according to the formula: the CCA — K + a × ave _ RSSI-b × interference1-c × interference2 may be a CCA threshold smaller, that is, a compact CCA strategy may be adopted, where the CCA threshold of which channel is not distinguished is smaller, but the CCA thresholds of all channels are smaller, in this case, the current signal detected by the AP is usually not easy to meet the CCA threshold smaller than or equal to the CCA threshold, and therefore, channel bundling is usually not possible in this case.
Fig. 7 is a third network topology structure diagram before and after channel bonding according to an embodiment of the present invention, where the left side is the topology structure diagram before channel bonding and the right side is the topology structure diagram after channel bonding, and a square root between the two diagrams indicates that channel bonding can be performed, and in combination with fig. 7, STA1 is closer to AP1 and STA2 is closer to AP2, so that the link channel quality between STA1 and AP1 is high, interference2 is small, the link channel quality between STA2 and AP2 is also higher, and interference2 is small, according to the formula: the CCA — K + a × ave _ RSSI-b × interference1-c × interference2 may be a CCA threshold that is larger, that is, a loose CCA policy may be adopted, where the CCA threshold of which channel is not distinguished is larger, but the CCA thresholds of all channels are larger, in this case, the current signal detected by the AP is usually less than or equal to the CCA threshold, and therefore, channel bundling may be performed in this case.
Fig. 8 is a topology structure diagram of a network before and after channel bonding according to an embodiment of the present invention, where the left side is a topology structure diagram before channel bonding and the right side is a topology structure diagram after channel bonding, where "gamma" between STAs 1 and 3932 is far away from an AP1 and STA2 is far away from an AP2, so that the link channel quality between STA1 and AP1 is poor, interference2 is large, the link channel quality between STA2 and AP2 is also poor, and interference2 is large, according to a formula: the CCA — K + a × ave _ RSSI-b × interference1-c × interference2 may be a CCA threshold smaller, that is, a compact CCA strategy may be adopted, where the CCA threshold of which channel is not distinguished is smaller, but the CCA thresholds of all channels are smaller, in this case, the current signal detected by the AP is usually not easy to meet the CCA threshold smaller than or equal to the CCA threshold, and therefore, channel bundling is usually not possible in this case.
Further, in the above embodiments, channels from the same AP to the STA are bundled, and in the embodiments of the present invention, channels from different APs to the STA may be further bundled, for example: fig. 9 is a network topology structure diagram according to an embodiment of the present invention, as shown in fig. 9, both STA1 and STA2 are within coverage of AP1 and AP2, RSSI1 represents an average of RSSI of channels between AP1 and STA1, RSSI3 represents interference experienced by STA, which is equivalent to interference2 in the formula, compared with a default fixed CCA threshold of 802.11ac, the CCA threshold of STA1 is calculated to be smaller, so that the transmission of STA1 by AP1 and the transmission of STA1 by AP2 adopt a channel contention mode, that is, the RSSI2 represents the average of the RSSI corresponding to the channel between AP1 and STA1, RSSI4 represents the interference experienced by the STA, and corresponds to the interference2 in the formula, and compared with the default fixed CCA threshold of 802.11ac, the CCA threshold of STA1 is calculated to be larger, thus, transmissions by AP1 to STA2 may be synchronized with transmissions by AP2 to STA2, i.e., the channel between AP1 and STA2 may be merged with the channel between AP2 and STA 2. Thereby improving throughput of the system.
In the channel binding method provided by the embodiment of the present invention, the AP may set a dynamic CCA threshold for each STA, and compared with the prior art, the throughput after channel binding may be improved by a distributed algorithm on the basis of maintaining the existing protocol. Throughput can be improved because the scheme takes the influence of a network topology into consideration when adjusting CCA, and simultaneously considers the interference received by the AP and the interference received by the STA.
EXAMPLE III
Fig. 10 is a flowchart of a channel bundling method according to another embodiment of the present invention, where an execution subject of the method is an STA, and the method specifically includes:
s1001: the STA determines at least one of an average value of Received Signal Strength Indicator (RSSI), interference suffered by the AP and interference suffered by the STA, of any one channel between the AP and the STA within a preset time period, wherein the average value of RSSI of any one channel is as follows: the average value of the RSSI of all downlink radio frames on any channel in a preset time period;
s1002: the STA determines a CCA threshold corresponding to any one channel according to at least one of the average value of the RSSI of any one channel, the interference suffered by the AP and the interference suffered by the STA;
s1003: the STA sends a CCA threshold value corresponding to any one channel to the AP so that the AP detects a current signal on any one channel, judges whether a preset condition is met or not, and bundles all channels meeting the preset condition, wherein the preset condition is as follows: the power value of the current channel is less than or equal to the CCA threshold value corresponding to any channel;
s1004: and the STA sends the uplink wireless frame through the bundled channel.
Specifically, the accurate determination of the CCA threshold directly affects whether the AP is to channel bundle and decides which channels the AP is to bundle. The embodiment of the present invention dynamically determines the CCA threshold, and the CCA threshold is determined mainly by counting at least one of an average value of Received Signal Strength Indicators (RSSI) of each channel between the AP and the STA in a preset time period, interference suffered by the AP, and interference suffered by the STA, where the average value of the RSSI of any channel is: the average value of the RSSI of all downlink radio frames on any channel in a preset time period, for example: the average value of the RSSI of the main channel between the AP and the STA is an average value of the RSSI of all downlink radio frames transmitted on the main channel in a preset time period, generally, the RSSI is in a Media Access Control (MAC) header of the radio frame, in addition, the interference suffered by the AP may be determined according to the RSSI of the radio frame at the intersection of a Basic Service Set (BSS) where the AP is located and other BSSs, the interference suffered by the STA may also be determined by calculating the RSSI of the radio frame at the intersection of the BSS where the STA is located and other BSSs by the STA, and the CCA threshold corresponding to each channel in the preset time period is determined by determining at least one of the three factors.
The present embodiment differs from the embodiment corresponding to fig. 1 in that: in the embodiment corresponding to fig. 1, the CCA threshold is determined by the average RSSI of the uplink data frame, and finally the downlink data frame is transmitted through the channel meeting the preset condition, in this embodiment, the CCA threshold is determined by the average RSSI of the downlink data frame, and finally the uplink data frame is transmitted through the channel meeting the preset condition.
The embodiment of the invention provides a channel bundling method, which comprises the following steps: firstly, the STA determines at least one of an average value of received signal strength indicator RSSI of any one channel between the AP and the STA, interference suffered by the AP, and interference suffered by the STA in a preset time period, wherein the average value of RSSI of any one channel is: the average value of the RSSI of all downlink radio frames on any channel in a preset time period; the STA determines a CCA threshold corresponding to any one channel according to at least one of the average value of the RSSI of any one channel, the interference suffered by the AP and the interference suffered by the STA; the STA sends a CCA threshold value corresponding to any one channel to the AP so that the AP detects a current signal on any one channel, judges whether a preset condition is met or not, and bundles all channels meeting the preset condition, wherein the preset condition is as follows: the power value of the current channel is less than or equal to the CCA threshold value corresponding to any channel; the STA sends the uplink wireless frame through the bundled channel, thereby effectively realizing channel bundling and further improving the concurrency of transmission and the throughput of the system.
Example four
Further, the determining, by the STA, a CCA threshold corresponding to any one channel according to at least one of the average RSSI of any one channel, the interference suffered by the AP, and the interference suffered by the STA includes: the STA calculates a CCA threshold value according to the CCA which is K + a multiplied by ave _ RSSI-b multiplied by the interference1-c multiplied by the interference 2; the CCA represents a CCA threshold corresponding to any one channel, ave _ RSSI represents an average value of the RSSI of any one channel, interference1 represents interference suffered by the AP, interference2 represents interference suffered by the STA, K is a constant, a is 0 or 1, b is 0 or 1, c is 0 or 1, and a, b and c are not 0 at the same time.
Optionally, the STA determines the interference suffered by the AP, including: the STA receives the average value of the RSSI of all the wireless frames transmitted in all the first overlapped basic service sets OBSS within a preset time period and sent by the AP; the STA determines that the average value of the RSSI of all the wireless frames transmitted in the first OBSS is the interference suffered by the AP, the first OBSS is the intersection of a first Basic Service Set (BSS) where the AP is located and a second BSS, and the second BSS is any BSS which does not include the AP.
Optionally, the STA determines interference suffered by the STA, including: the STA determines that the average value of the RSSI of all the wireless frames transmitted in all the second overlapped basic service sets OBSS in a preset time period is the interference suffered by the STA, the second OBSS is the intersection of a third basic service set BSS and a fourth BSS where the STA is located, and the fourth BSS is any BSS which does not include the STA.
Compared with the prior art, the channel binding method provided by the embodiment of the invention has the advantages that the STA can obtain the CCA threshold value in each preset time period, and the throughput after channel binding can be improved through a distributed algorithm on the basis of maintaining the existing protocol.
