It is common practice to fully customize and develop displays to each size requirement. Each customized display requires approximately ten photomask coating processes, corresponding to approximately ten sets of precision masks. These masks are typically expensive, resulting in high development costs for the display. However, many application scenarios require a small number of display screens, and do not have strict requirements for resolution (PPI) other than size and shape, and it is not necessary or cost-effective to develop a single set of masks.

The novel display capable of sharing the mask is beneficial to saving development cost, accelerating the development process and greatly reducing the waste of resources.
The manufacturing process of the novel display capable of sharing the mask plate also comprises the steps of respectively manufacturing the driving mother plate and the upper substrate mother plate, then laminating the driving mother plate and the upper substrate mother plate, and then dividing the driving mother plate and the upper substrate mother plate into the single displays.
When manufacturing a driving motherboard, as shown in fig. 4, a common driving motherboard including a TFT transistor 10, a scanning line 11, and a data line 12, and not including a driving IC, is manufactured by a conventional process; then, the invention etches a plurality of holes corresponding to each scanning line 11 and each data line 12 on the public driving mother board, and then conductive contacts 110 and 120 are made in the holes; the conductive contacts 110, 120 may be formed by depositing a conductive material over the holes. In order to improve the position arbitrariness during subsequent segmentation, when target displays with different sizes and shapes are cut at a required position, electric signal transfer on the driving sub-substrate 1 can be connected with a driving IC on the upper substrate, at least one corresponding hole is respectively etched in corresponding sections of a scanning line 11 and a data line 12 corresponding to each TFT transistor 10 on a common driving mother board, and the scanning line 11 and the data line 12 connected with each TFT transistor 10 are positioned at peripheral positions and at least one scanning line conductive contact 110 and at least one data line conductive contact 120 are achieved.

The electrical transfer material 23 between the drive motherboard and the upper substrate motherboard can be formed specifically by coating and curing (for a conductive paste) or pasting (for an anisotropic conductive film ACF).
The final segmentation reaches several new displays that can share a reticle as shown in fig. 9. The specific content of the dividing step is to divide one drive mother board into a plurality of drive sub-substrates 1 as shown in fig. 7, and divide one upper substrate mother board into a plurality of upper substrates 2 as shown in fig. 8 (two mother boards may be bonded and then cut). Each driver sub-substrate 1 includes a display region 18 and a non-display region (the regions outside the display region 18 are non-display regions); the display area 18 is attached to the display area 21 on the upper substrate 2, and the non-display area is attached to the non-display area 22 on the upper substrate 2; the non-display area includes an electrical transfer area 19, and the electrical transfer area 19 corresponds to an electrical transfer material 23 on the upper substrate 2.

At least one unique mask is used for manufacturing the customized upper substrate motherboard, and the design of the mask is related to the shape and the size of the target display to be manufactured and the selected drive IC.
The invention mainly aims at application scenes that the size and the shape are scattered but the resolution (or the size of a single pixel) is not specially required, and the driving substrate which needs a plurality of masks in the display is manufactured into a universal driving motherboard according to a common resolution (such as 250 PPI), so that the driving substrate is generalized. The driver ICs, which are conventionally located on the driver sub-substrate, are transferred onto the upper substrate. Originally, nearly ten sets of masks are needed, and one to two sets of masks are only needed to be newly developed on the upper substrate, so that the development cost can be greatly reduced, and the development period can be shortened. The number of newly developed masks is reduced, the development cost is greatly reduced, the development and production processes are obviously accelerated, and the inventory risk is reduced.
