本发明涉及用于分配材料的系统和方法。具体地,本发明涉及用于在表面上定向分配材料的系统和方法。
背景技术
用于分配材料的系统是人们熟知的。已知使用喷涂、印刷和其它技术将材料从贮存器转移至定向位置。已知的系统提供用于将材料施加到表面的机构,并且也将材料精确地施加在表面上的定向位置。
典型的已知系统趋于具有工业规模,其意图是大量地产生定向沉积或定制的定向沉积。所需要的是用于以个体化规模将材料定向沉积在表面上的、适用于个人用途的优异的系统和方法。
发明内容
在一个方面,本发明包括用于在表面上施加流体的方法。该方法包括以下步骤:提供沉积系统;以第一非零速率从沉积系统排放流体;检测沉积系统邻近表面的运动;以及在沉积系统邻近表面移动时以第二速率排放流体。
在另一方面,本发明包括如下系统,所述系统包括:MEMS元件,所述MEMS元件耦接到流体贮存器并且适于以多种非零速率分配流体;至少一个传感器;和控制器,所述控制器与MEMS元件和至少一个传感器通信并且适于接收来自传感器的输出并根据传感器输出改变MEMS元件的沉积速率。

具体实施方式
在一个实施方案中,本发明包括用于将流体或流体化材料沉积在目标表面上的系统。该系统包括耦接到一个或多个贮存器的“微机电系统”(MEMS)元件。示例性MEMS元件包括热式按需着墨印刷头(在本领域中也称作磁泡喷墨或热喷墨印刷头)、和压电式按需着墨印刷头。
MEMS元件可由多个喷嘴组成,并且所述多个喷嘴可独立受控以便允许不考虑与其它喷嘴相关联的速率来选择从各个喷嘴沉积或分配流体的速率。可通过改变施加给喷嘴的信号的频率或通过发送位串到主动寻址电路中来改变相应喷嘴的击发速率,所述电路包含喷嘴编号和击发频率信息。包含在所述系统内并与MEMS元件通信的控制器可根据控制器固件或软件中的预先配置的设定来调节相应喷嘴的击发频率和击发顺序,并且也可与来自一个或多个传感器的输入相关联。击发频率可被预选为特定值以提供击发频率的阶跃函数集,或者所述频率可为预先配置的以根据一个或多个控制器输入值在预限定的范围内连续地改变。包括分配元件和控制元件的示例性MEMS元件可购自Hewlett-Packard、Fujifilm、Fuji、Canon、Seiko Epson、ST Microelectronics、MEMJET、或Texas Instruments。

对应的传感器包括:温度传感器和湿度传感器、基底接近传感器、系统或基底运动检测传感器、加速度传感器、场传感器、特征结构识别传感器,包括基于电磁波的传感器,包括:光学传感器、红外线传感器、紫外线传感器、射频传感器和超声波传感器、以及这些的组合。
可包括照明系统以支持或启用传感器检测系统。本发明的一个实施方案包括其波长为对人眼可见的LED光源发射光。对应于可被传感器检测到的范围或波长的其它光源可包括发射红外线波长和紫外线波长的光源和以射频、超声波、电磁波进行发射的光源,或者可使用这些的组合。
控制器可从一个或多个传感器接收关于沉积系统的环境的输入信息。控制器可根据输入值改变MEMS的分配频率,并且改变所述分配以朝基底上的特定目标位置引导所分配的流体。在一个实施方案中,控制器可处理来自与基底特征结构的识别相关联的传感器的输入。在确定了预限定的基底特征结构的存在和位置时,控制器可改变MEMS的分配以将流体朝所述特征结构或所述特征结构附近的区域引导。以该方式改变所述分配可导致流体施加在所述特征结构上或其附近,目的是遮蔽或修改所述特征结构的外观或换句话讲经由所述流体的功能上的活性成分来影响所述特征结构。示例性控制器包括以下中的成员:购自Texas Instruments的Sitara系列应用处理器、购自Texas Instruments的Tiva系列微控制器、购自ST Microelectronics(Coppell,TX)的STM32系列微控制器、和购自FreescaleSemiconductor(Austin,TX)的Vybrid系列应用处理器。
在一个实施方案中,可如下利用分配系统:所述系统可经由手动开关或通过改变状态-诸如从存储支架上取下来接通。支架以如下方式服务分配系统:为其电池充电;并且以如下方式管理对MEMS元件的维护:通过擦拭或润湿或这两者并且通过在运行喷嘴激活循环时收集沉积的介质来清洁其喷嘴。在一个实施方案中,支架包括用于对MEMS进行充电和维护的功能和元件两者。在另一个实施方案中,支架具有充电功能,同时通过独立的可移除顶盖来提供MEMS的维护。在另一个实施方案中,分配系统不需要充电服务,因为经由缆线向所述系统提供电力。
所述系统可以第一非零速率开始分配流体。此类分配可用来使MEMS元件准备进行进一步的分配,同时也减少了对MEMS元件的污损。
响应于预定的传感器输入–诸如在分配的流体路径中检测到基底–控制器可改变MEMS的流体分配速率。在一个实施方案中,可减小速率以减少在基底上产生的流体人工痕迹。附加输入–所述系统和基底之间的相对运动、检测到基底上的感兴趣的特征结构–可导致控制器再次改变分配速率,其目的包括保持MEMS的可用状态、或出于预限定的目的向所述特征结构上施加流体或靠近所述特征结构施加流体。示例性应用包括遮蔽或以其它方式改变所述特征结构的用途、或向所述特征结构上或靠近所述特征结构施加流体的活性成分以及它们的组合。
与所述系统一起使用的示例性流体包括:化妆品、聚合物、含水物、非含水物、颗粒承载物、光学改性剂、填料、光学匹配剂、皮肤活性剂、指/趾甲活性剂、毛发活性剂、口腔护理活性剂、抗炎剂、抗菌剂、表面活性剂或包含活性剂的表面活性剂、以及它们的组合。用于所述沉积系统的应用的示例性表面和基底包括:角质表面、织造表面、非织造表面、多孔表面、无孔表面、木材、牙齿、舌、金属、瓷砖、织物、以及它们的组合。
如图所示,MEMS元件100耦接到流体贮存器200。传感器300邻近贮存器和MEMS元件设置。控制器400电耦接到传感器300和MEMS元件100。

Claims (10)

b.以第一非零速率从所述沉积系统排放流体;
c.检测所述沉积系统邻近表面的运动;
d.在所述沉积系统邻近所述表面移动时以第二速率排放流体。
2.根据权利要求1所述的方法,还包括以下步骤:
e.分析所述表面;
f.检测所述表面上的特征结构;
g.定向与检测的特征结构相关联的至少一种流体的所述排放。
3.根据权利要求1所述的方法,还包括以下步骤:
h.检测邻近所述沉积系统的表面;
i.在邻近所述表面时以第三且非零速率从所述沉积系统排放流体。
4.根据权利要求1所述的方法,其中所述流体选自由以下项组成的组:化妆品、聚合物、含水物、非含水物、颗粒承载物以及它们的组合。
5.根据权利要求1所述的方法,其中所述表面选自由以下项组成的组:角质表面、织造表面、非织造表面、多孔表面、无孔表面、以及它们的组合。
6.一种沉积系统,包括:
a.MEMS元件,所述MEMS元件耦接到至少一个流体贮存器并且适于以多种非零速率分配流体;
b.至少一个传感器;
c.控制器,所述控制器与所述MEMS元件和至少一个传感器通信并且适于接收来自所述传感器的输出并根据所述传感器输出改变所述MEMS元件的沉积速率。
