The invention discloses a method and a system for freezing application. The method comprises the steps of obtaining schedule information and positioning information of a user, wherein the schedule information comprises time and place; and when the positioning information is determined to be matched with the place of the schedule information within the time of the schedule information, freezing an application program which corresponds to the schedule information and needs to be frozen. The invention combines the schedule information of the user with the frozen application program, can flexibly control the freezing of the application program corresponding to the schedule information of the user, is convenient and quick, and improves the use experience of the user.
