The method comprises: (1), when renumbering of a home network prefix (HNP) of a mobile node (MN) occurs, a local mobility anchor (LMA) distributes a new HNP to the MN; (2), the LMA sends an update notification (UPN) message to an MAG, wherein the UPN message includes an HNP option and an MN identifier option; (3), the MAG determines that the LMA configures the new HNP to the MN according to the received UPN, the MAG constructs a router advertisement (RA) based on the UPN and sends the RA to the MN; (4), the MAG sends the UPA message to the LMA to notify updating completion of the prefix information; and (5), after the MN determines the HNP changing based on the received RA, a new HNP configuration communication address is employed.
