Abstract

The invention relates to a motor vehicle key. However, motor vehicle manufacturers and vehicle owners are aware that the identification or identification section of the motor vehicle key appears to be particularly high-grade, and that the motor vehicle key, although it is used intensively, can only withstand minor wear. However, in the known motor vehicle key, this specification cannot be met due to the above-described fastening of the identifier to the housing, since the material properties of the housing cannot be achieved in the presence of the identifier. The motor vehicle key according to the invention comprises a housing with a receiving section and a symbol carrier with a defined outer surface, the material properties of which differ from those of the housing, wherein the symbol carrier is fixed in the receiving section of the housing in such a way that the outer surface of the symbol carrier faces the housing surface, and the motor vehicle key further comprises a symbol fixed to the housing and/or the housing carrier, wherein the symbol and the symbol carrier are fixed to the housing in a rotationally fixed manner relative to the housing.

Description

Motor vehicle key
Technical Field
The invention relates to a motor vehicle key, in particular a motor vehicle key having a (manufacturer) logo, and to a method for producing such a motor vehicle key.
Background
Motor vehicle keys are subjected to constant wear, and for this reason the housing of the motor vehicle key is usually made of a very resistant and strong fiber-reinforced plastic. The plastic used for the housing of the motor vehicle key has the disadvantage that it cannot be printed or painted, so that the appearance of the plastic used decisively influences the appearance of the entire motor vehicle key.
Manufacturers of high-priced motor vehicles are particularly interested in placing a manufacturer logo on the key of the motor vehicle belonging to the motor vehicle. The marking is usually provided in that the marking itself is fixed to the housing or is arranged in a corresponding recess of the housing.
When placed in a corresponding manner, the surface within the interior of the emblem which is left free by the emblem itself is formed by the housing of the motor vehicle and is therefore subject to the above-mentioned material-dependent limitations, i.e. these regions cannot be painted or printed.
However, the motor vehicle manufacturer (and the vehicle owner) is aware that the identification or identification section of the motor vehicle key appears to be particularly high-grade, which, despite its intensive use, is able to withstand only a small amount of wear. However, in conventional motor vehicle keys, this specification cannot be met due to the above-described fastening of the identification mark, since the material properties of the housing cannot be achieved in the case of an identification mark.
Disclosure of Invention
The object of the invention is to provide a motor vehicle key with a logo, wherein the outer surface has different material properties than the housing of the motor vehicle key when the logo is present. The object of the invention is, furthermore, to provide a method for producing a corresponding motor vehicle key.
This object is achieved according to the invention by the provision of a motor vehicle key. The motor vehicle key according to the invention comprises a housing with a receiving section and a logo support with a defined outer surface or surface, the material properties of which differ from the material properties of the housing, wherein the logo support is fixed in the receiving section of the housing in such a way that the outer surface of the logo support faces the housing surface. The motor vehicle key according to the invention further comprises a logo which is fastened to the housing and/or the logo carrier, wherein the logo and the logo carrier are fastened to the housing in a rotationally fixed manner relative to the housing.
According to the invention, the (manufacturer) logo is not attached to the housing in such a way that the housing itself is visible when the logo surface is open, but rather a special logo support is provided, which differs from the housing of the motor vehicle key in terms of its surface properties.
For this purpose, the marking support can be made of a material whose surface properties meet the requirements of the motor vehicle manufacturer. Alternatively, a (plastic) material can also be used, which differs from the housing material in that a functional coating can be provided. The functional coating can be, for example, a paint of particularly high quality or a protective layer made of such a paint and having a high resistance. Alternatively, the functional coating can also be printed on the marking support.
According to the invention, the housing section provided with the marking can have different surface properties than the housing material itself, due to the use of the marking carrier. In particular for high-grade motor vehicle keys, the actuating devices usually arranged around the emblem are covered, for example, with piano varnish, so that the surface properties can be adapted particularly advantageously.
The sign itself is fixed to the housing and/or the housing holder, wherein how accurately it is fixed depends on the exact configuration of the sign. The marking can be fixed, for example, on or in the marking carrier and on or in the receiving section. Alternatively, the marking carrier is fastened to the receiving portion by the marking itself, for which purpose the marking or marking portion can be spread onto the marking carrier.
The configuration of the receiving section of the housing is likewise dependent on the exact configuration of the other parts of the motor vehicle key. If the marking is to be "sunk" into the housing together with the marking carrier, the receiving section comprises a corresponding recess or depression in which the marking/marking carrier combination is arranged. In other embodiments, the marking/marking carrier combination is designed to protrude relative to the housing surface (or the surrounding actuating device), wherein the receiving section can only provide a corresponding seat for the marking/marking carrier combination.
In order to secure the marking particularly reliably and visually aesthetically to the marking carrier, it is provided in a preferred embodiment that the marking carrier has a marking groove corresponding to the marking or marking section, in which the marking is arranged. The marking can be fixed in this recess by fixing methods known to the expert (gluing, snapping, clamping).
The receiving section of the housing of the motor vehicle key according to the invention can be designed as a recess or depression in the form of a logo or a logo carrier. In the case of a marking or marking carrier which is not circular in design, twisting of the marking in the recess is already precluded by the shaping.
However, it is also possible for the marking to lie only flat on the marking support over a wider area and to be fixed only centrally on the marking support. In order to prevent the rotation of the marking on the marking carrier, it is provided in a preferred embodiment that the marking has a marking-securing protrusion, and that the marking carrier has a receptacle corresponding to the marking-securing protrusion, wherein the marking-securing protrusion engages in the receptacle to prevent rotation.
It is also desirable to reliably prevent twisting of the sign carrier if, in particular, the sign and the sign carrier are of circular design or the sign carrier is only fixed centrally on the housing (i.e. not in the recess or groove). In a preferred embodiment, it is therefore provided that the marking carrier has a carrier-securing bulge and the receiving section has a recess corresponding to the carrier-securing bulge, wherein the carrier-securing bulge engages in the receiving section to prevent twisting.
In each case, the release of the marking from the marking carrier is avoided. In order to secure the marking in a particularly reliable and structurally simple manner to the marking carrier, it is provided in a preferred embodiment that the marking has a fastening elevation with a locking head and that the marking carrier has a plurality of elastic locking arms, wherein the marking is locked to the marking carrier by means of the locking head and the locking arms. In the production of a motor vehicle key, the symbol is first of all fixed to the symbol carrier in this embodiment, wherein the latch formed in this way cannot be released under normal force.
In order to assist the latching of the marking on the marking carrier, it is provided in a preferred embodiment that the receiving section of the housing, in which the marking carrier is arranged, has an opening, against the inner circumference of which the latching arms rest, wherein by this configuration a divergence of the latching arms and thus an effective detachment of the marking is avoided.
In order to make it particularly simple to place the marking carrier of the above-described exemplary embodiments in the center of the housing section, it is preferred if the elastic latching arms are conical and the openings in the receiving section are funnel-shaped. In a corresponding embodiment, the divarication of the stop arms is prevented and at the same time the centering of the signage carrier is ensured.
When the marking is fastened to the marking carrier by means of a snap lock as described above, it is ensured that the marking cannot be detached from the marking carrier. However, in order to prevent a minimum movement of the marking in and against the latching direction, it is provided in a preferred embodiment that the support section (for example belonging to the housing) is arranged relative to the latching head by means of a resilient securing element, wherein the resilient securing element presses the latching head against the latching arm. In this way, rattling is avoided, which may be caused by a movement of the marking in or against the latching direction.
The motor vehicle key according to the invention is produced by providing a housing with a receiving section and by providing a logo support with a defined outer surface, the material properties of which differ from those of the housing, fixing the logo on the logo support and fixing the logo support and/or the logo on the receiving section.
Once the marking carrier has not had the desired surface properties due to the selected material, the outer surface is printed or painted with a corresponding functional coating.
For simple and reliable connection of the individual parts, it is preferred that the marking carrier is laser-welded to the receiving section and/or that the marking carrier is ultrasonically welded.

Fig. 5 shows a perspective view of the combination of a logo 31 and a logo receiver 20, wherein in this view it can be seen how the logo 31 is snap-locked fixed to the logo carrier 20 by means of the detent tip 34 and the resilient detent arms 26.
Fig. 6 shows a perspective view of the combination logo/logo carrier/receiving section, and it can be seen that the stop tops 34 extend through the apertures 7 into the receiving section.
Fig. 7a to 7c show perspective or partial section views of the marker section 30, wherein only the marker 31/marker support 20 combination is shown in fig. 7 a. In this view, it can be seen in particular how the marking 31 is fixed to the elastic latching arms 26 by means of the fixing elevations 33 and the latching tops 34, so that a latching connection is produced between the marking 31 and the marking carrier 20.
In the exemplary embodiment shown, the marking and the marking carrier are designed in a circular manner. As already described, these two parts comprise a securing ridge to prevent twisting of the symbol 31 relative to the symbol carrier 20 and to prevent twisting of the symbol carrier 20 toward or in the receiving section. As can be seen in particular in fig. 7c, the receiving section 10 comprises a recess 11 in the circular recess section 15, into which the carrier securing ridge 25 engages. Accordingly, the carrier receptacle 20 has a receptacle 24, into which the marking-security bead 32 is inserted. In the exemplary embodiment shown, the rotation of the marking relative to the marking carrier 20 is already prevented by the arrangement of the marking sections in the marking recesses 23, and the illustration of the receptacles 24 and the marking-securing elevations 32 serves merely to show how a corresponding rotation resistance is implemented if the marking is not arranged in the corresponding marking recess.
The function of the support section 5, which can be part of the housing 2, can also be seen in fig. 7 c. The support section 5 is arranged on the stop top 34 and comprises a resilient securing means 6 which presses the stop top against the stop arm and prevents a minimum movement of the sign on or in the sign carrier (rattle protection).

The production of the motor vehicle key according to the invention is explained below with the aid of rib fig. 8a to 8 b.
According to the invention, a housing 2 (not shown here) is first provided, which has a housing part 10. In addition, a sign carrier 20 having a defined outer surface 21 is provided, which has material properties different from those of the housing, and a sign 31 is secured to the sign carrier 20. This is achieved in the exemplary embodiment shown by the fact that the locking between the marking 31 and the marking support 20 is established by the fastening bead 33, the locking head 24 and the elastic locking arm. Additionally, the marking 31 can be, for example, ultrasonically welded to the marking carrier, glued to the marking carrier, or clamped to the marking carrier, wherein the possible potential fastening of the marking 31 to the marking carrier 20 depends on the exact configuration of the marking and of the marking carrier.
After the fastening of the emblem to the emblem carrier, the emblem carrier and/or the emblem is fastened to the receiving section, wherein it also depends on the exact embodiment of the emblem section of the motor vehicle key whether the emblem carrier and/or the emblem is fastened solely to the housing section. In order to fasten the emblem and/or the emblem carrier to the receiving section 10 of the housing, a number of fastening methods known to the expert are also provided, wherein preferably the emblem carrier is laser welded to the receiving section 10.
