一些轮胎性能属性包括操纵和刹车。这些属性受侧壁部件诸如三角胶、加强层和外包布的存在的影响,如授予Mruk等人(下文中,Mruk)的美国专利公布2010/0108220中所公开的。如本领域中所已知的,三角胶为楔形部件,该楔形部件用于加强侧壁并位于轮胎的胎圈部分的附近。Mruk提出可将具有特定取向的短纤维掺入轮胎的三角胶、加强层和外包布中作为增强。

具体实施方式
持续需要改善的车辆轮胎性能;并且对于操纵的改善可通过加强侧壁来实现。图1中的标记10处整体示出通用现有技术车辆轮胎的横截面,所述轮胎具有安装在轮辋5上的帘布层4和胎体主体6,与侧壁1。侧壁1还被描述为上部1a和下部1b。胎圈3位于轮胎处于轮辋5上的位置处。“胎圈”是指轮胎的部件,该部件包括由帘布层帘线4包裹的环形抗拉构件并在具有或不具有其它增强元件的情况下成形。在下侧壁部分1b中示出的轮胎三角胶2为常规的三角形弹性体材料挤出轮廓,其与胎圈匹配并提供介于刚性胎圈3与柔性内衬和主体帘布层(为方便起见两者均标记为4)之间的缓冲层。
本发明涉及汽车轮胎,其包括三角胶部件和胎圈部件,并且其中所述三角胶部件包括具有嵌入的增强纤维的多个弹性体条带。关于本发明,应当注意侧壁1b的三角胶部分,并在图2中进一步详细示出。三角胶2被描述为包括六个条带2a–2f,但六并不旨在是限制性的值,即,条带数可以低于或高于六个,但必须考虑具有一些厚度的压延条带。形成三角胶形状最好由相对较大量的长度不等的条带来进行。在一个实施例中,条带数可以为三角胶宽度尺寸除以条带厚度。
如图2中所示,将所述条带定位成使得底部边缘表面与胎圈部件3接触。条带的顶部边缘表面与相邻条带的顶部边缘表面接触或与相邻帘布层接触。条带的顶部边缘表面可以是倒角的,但这不是必要的,因为该条带将在橡胶化合物在轮胎加工和固化期间流动时成形为倒角形。应当注意的是如图2中所述的条带是固化之后的,然而两端可在固化之前做成方形。还应当注意的是图2中的条带2a-2f的交叉影线仅是为了容易描绘单个条带而提供并且不旨在代表纤维取向。将增强纤维嵌入条带中并且在所述条带内以可控的取向角基本上平行于彼此而对齐,其中选择所述取向使得其增加三角胶部件的刚度。另外,为描述轮胎在运动时的纤维取向,所述增强纤维的大部分在一个或多个条带中取向在基本上平行于或正交于路面接触表面的平面内。当嵌入条带中时增强纤维的各种取向在图3A-3D中示出,如由图2中箭头A所描绘的垂直于侧壁来看。应当注意图3A和3D仅示出一个条带,所述条带可指示所有条带具有相同的取向,即分别为周向取向和经向取向。然而,图3B和3C指示具有不同取向的相邻条带并且仅出于示例性目的示出并不旨在以任何方式限制。以度为单位表示的纤维取向在图3A-3D中分别示为0°;0°和90°;+45°和-45°以及90°。虽然图3C描绘了在+45°和-45°下的取向,但可使用大于0°且小于90°,例如+30°和-30°或者+60°和-60°的其它多组锐角L。
为了改善操纵,至少两个条带可具有在经向上(即沿轮胎胎体)和在与胎体帘布层相同的方向上取向的纤维增强材料(图3D)。经向类似于径向;但不同于径向,其不表示直线取向,而是曲线的,如由图2中条带2a-2f所示。该结构通过加强轮胎以抑制胎体侧向过旋转来改善操纵。
为改善刹车,增强纤维可优选为斜向取向的。换句话讲,从图2中的侧壁观察轮胎构造,取向可以为如图3C中所示的+45°和-45°。在刹车的一个优选的实施例中,可存在偶数个条带。应当理解在加速和刹车两者下,轮胎经受相同类型但在相对方向上的力,所以下文中,将使用术语“刹车”来包括两者。
为改善轮胎的操纵和刹车这两者,可使用增强条带的各种组合。在具有构成如图2所示的三角胶的六个条带的一个实施例中,最外侧条带2a(更靠近轮胎的侧壁)和最内侧条带2f(更靠近轮胎的内部)可由用于操纵的经向增强纤维制成,然而中间条带2b-2e可由用于刹车的斜向增强纤维制成。一般而言,为改善操纵和刹车这两者,具有斜向增强纤维的偶数个条带可处于中间,即最外侧条带和最内侧条带可具有用于操纵的经向增强纤维。存在其它可能的实施例,例如,最外侧条带2a和最内侧条带2f具有用于操纵的经向增强纤维,并且中间条带2b至2e由用于刹车的常规橡胶化合物制成(即不具有纤维增强材料)。替代方案可具有最外侧条带2a和最内侧条带2f,两者均具有用于刹车的斜向增强材料,和由用于操纵的常规橡胶化合物制成的中间条带2b-2e(不具有增强纤维)。
在一些情况下,当最外侧条带和最内侧条带具有增强纤维的特定取向时,剩余的中间条带可具有经向增强材料、斜向增强材料或不具有增强纤维的常规橡胶化合物。还应当注意的是,如果在相同三角胶中存在经向增强材料和斜向增强材料,则具有经向增强材料的条带可以是最外侧的并且具有斜向增强材料的条带可以是最内侧的。如上所述,参考图2,条带2a可以为最外侧的并且条带2f可以为最内的,并且其它中间条带可基于它们是否更靠近2a或2f来指定。
构成条带的固化弹性体可以为天然橡胶、丁苯橡胶、丁二烯橡胶以及它们的混合物。增强纤维可以为连续或不连续的并由下列的非限制性组制成:芳族聚酰胺、脂族聚酰胺、聚酯、聚烯烃、聚唑、碳、人造丝、玻璃以及它们的混合物。合适的芳族聚酰胺为对位芳族聚酰胺,诸如购自E.l.duPontdeNemoursandCompany,WilmingtonDE.(DuPont)的Kevlar?。另一种合适的增强材料为Kevlar?工程化弹性体,其也购自DuPont。
本主题发明还涉及用于通过以下步骤来增加轮胎的三角胶部件的刚度的方法:
(a)识别用于增加三角胶部件的刚度的机构;
(b)提供三角胶化合物的条带,其在基本上与胎体帘布层相同的方向上延伸;
(c)基于在步骤(a)中所识别的机构,向所述三角胶化合物中引入增强纤维,该增强纤维具有适于增加三角胶部件的刚度的取向。
用于制备包括复合三角胶部件的轮胎的方法,该方法包括提供固化的弹性体;并将每100重量份的弹性体和纤维0.1至10份的增强纤维引入所述固化弹性体中。所述纤维具有至少6克/分特的韧度和至少200克/分特的模量,并且所述纤维的大部分在一个或多个条带中取向在基本上平行于或正交于路面接触表面的平面内。所述方法包括以下步骤:
(a)在高剪切搅拌器、辊磨机或挤出机中配混包含短纤维、弹性体和其他添加剂的未固化的弹性体,
(b)将所述未固化弹性体压延或挤出成一个或多个具有轮廓的条带,其中所述纤维在所需的方向上对齐,
(c)依次在转筒上组装轮胎组件的第一阶段部件,包括胎圈和三角胶条带;
(d)依次在球胆压床上组装轮胎组件的第二阶段部件,以及
(e)将所述轮胎组件放入模具中,并通过热和压力来固化弹性体化合物。

Claims (18)

1.一种汽车轮胎,其包括三角胶部件和胎圈部件,所述三角胶部件还包括多个弹性体条带,其中所述条带中的一个是最外侧的并且所述条带中的一个是最内侧的,所述弹性体条带包含增强纤维,其中每个条带具有顶面表面、底面表面、顶部边缘表面和底部边缘表面,其中
(i)将所述条带定位成使得所述底部边缘表面与所述胎圈部件接触;
(ii)条带的所述顶部边缘表面与相邻条带的所述顶面表面或相邻帘布层接触,
(iii)所述条带中的所述增强纤维在所述条带内以可控的取向角基本上平行于彼此而对齐,其中选择所述取向以使得其增加所述三角胶部件的刚度。
2.根据权利要求1所述的轮胎,其中所述增强纤维在经向上对齐。
3.根据权利要求1所述的轮胎,其中所述增强纤维以(+)锐角L和(-)锐角L在斜向上对齐,其中L大于0°且小于90°
4.根据权利要求3所述的轮胎,其中所述增强纤维以+45°和-45°在斜向上对齐。
5.根据权利要求1所述的轮胎,其中所述增强纤维在周向上对齐。
6.根据权利要求1所述的轮胎,其中所述增强纤维在一个条带中在经向上对齐并在不同条带中在斜向上对齐。
7.根据权利要求1所述的轮胎,其中所述最外侧条带和所述最内侧条带具有经向纤维增强材料并且所述中间条带具有斜向纤维增强材料。
8.根据权利要求7所述的轮胎,其中所述中间条带不具有任何增强纤维。
9.根据权利要求1所述的轮胎,其中所述最外侧条带具有斜向增强纤维,并且所述最内侧条带具有经向增强纤维。
10.根据权利要求1所述的轮胎,其中所述最外侧条带和所述最内侧条带具有斜向纤维增强材料并且所述中间条带不具有任何纤维增强材料。
11.根据权利要求1所述的轮胎,其中所述最外侧条带和所述最内侧条带具有经向纤维增强材料并且所述中间条带具有斜向纤维增强材料。
12.根据权利要求1所述的轮胎,其中所述纤维选自芳族聚酰胺、脂族聚酰胺、聚酯、聚烯烃、聚唑、碳、人造丝、玻璃以及它们的混合物。
13.根据权利要求12所述的轮胎,其中所述纤维为连续或不连续的。
14.根据权利要求1所述的轮胎,其中所述固化的弹性体选自天然橡胶、丁苯橡胶、丁二烯橡胶、以及它们的混合物。
15.根据权利要求11所述的轮胎,其中芳香族聚酰胺为对位芳族聚酰胺。
16.一种用于增强轮胎的三角胶部件的刚度的方法,所述方法包括以下步骤:

(b)提供三角胶化合物;

17.一种用于制备轮胎的方法,所述轮胎包括复合三角胶部件,所述复合材料还包括:
固化的弹性体;以及
每100重量份的所述弹性体0.1份至10份的纤维;所述纤维的特征在于具有至少6克/分特的韧度和至少200克/分特的模量,
其中所述纤维的大部分在一个或多个条带中取向在基本上平行于或正交于路面接触表面的平面内;所述方法包括以下步骤:
(a)在高剪切搅拌器、辊磨机或挤出机中配混包含短纤维、弹性体和其他添加剂的未固化的弹性体,
(b)将所述未固化弹性体压延或挤出成一个或多个具有轮廓的条带,其中所述纤维在所需的方向上对齐,
