Abstract

A system and method for automatically switching input methods of a palm-type electronic device are provided. In any character input mode and non-voice input mode of the palm electronic device, when a user is doing voice input operation through the voice input unit, the input method automatic switching system automatically switches the input method currently used by the palm electronic device into the voice input method. In any character input mode and non-handwriting input method mode of the palm electronic device, when a user is doing handwriting input operation through the touch screen, the input method automatic switching system automatically switches the input method currently used by the palm electronic device into the handwriting input method. By implementing the method and the device, the input method mode in use of the handheld electronic device can be automatically switched according to the character input mode of the user, so that the convenience of using the input method is improved.

Technical Field

Background
The input method of a palm-type electronic device such as a tablet computer or a smart phone is an important function, and the input methods of the existing mobile phones include a text input method, a voice input method, a handwriting input method, and the like. However, the input method switching and selecting method of the mobile phone is not intuitive for the user, and the user of the mobile phone who enters the home needs to learn the input method of the mobile phone for a while to use the input method easily and freely. Fig. 1 is a schematic diagram showing an operating environment of an automatic input method switching system according to a preferred embodiment of the present invention. In this embodiment, the automatic input method switching system 10 is installed and operated in the handheld electronic device 1, and the handheld electronic device 1 further includes, but is not limited to, a text input interface 11, a touch screen 12, a voice input unit 13, a storage device 14, and a microprocessor 15. The palm electronic device 1 may be a tablet computer, a smart phone, or other communication electronic devices.
The character input interface 11 is displayed on the touch screen 12, and when a user performs voice input or handwriting input, characters input by the user are displayed on the character input interface 11. When the user slides on the touch screen 12 through a finger or a stylus, the touch screen 12 receives the handwriting operation of the user. When a user inputs a character through voice, the voice input unit 13 receives the voice input by the user.
In this embodiment, the input method automatic switching system 10 includes a voice detection module 101, a handwriting detection module 102, an input method switching module 103, a voice input module 104, and a handwriting input module 105. In the present embodiment, the input methods currently used by the handheld electronic device 1 include, but are not limited to, a voice input method and a handwriting input method. When the input method currently used by the palm electronic device 1 is a voice input method, receiving voice input operation of a user; when the input method currently used by the palm-type electronic device 1 is a voice input method, a handwriting input operation of a user is received.
In step S22, when it is detected that the voice input unit 13 has a voice input, the voice detection module 101 is triggered to detect the voice input operation received by the voice input unit 13.
In step S23, the voice detection module 101 determines whether the input method currently used by the text input interface 11 is a voice input method. If the currently used input method is not the voice input method, executing step S24; if the currently used input method is the voice input method, step S26 is executed.
In step S24, the voice detecting module 101 determines whether the voice input unit 13 is receiving voice by using a Speech to text (Speech to text) method. If the voice input unit 13 is receiving voice, go to step S25; if the voice input unit 13 is not receiving voice, the process ends.
In step S25, the input method switching module 103 automatically switches the currently used input method to the voice input method. In step S34, the handwriting detection module 102 determines whether the touch screen 12 is receiving a handwriting input operation. under any character input mode and non-voice input mode of the palm electronic device, when a user is doing voice input operation through the voice input unit, the input method currently used by the palm electronic device is automatically switched into the voice input method; and
in any character input mode and non-handwriting input mode of the palm electronic device, when a user is doing handwriting input operation through the touch screen, the input method currently used by the palm electronic device is automatically switched to the handwriting input method,
the system also comprises a voice input module, wherein the voice input module judges whether the voice input unit is receiving voice and converts the voice input by the voice input unit into characters by using a voice-to-character mode, and the characters are displayed on the character input interface.

The system as claimed in claim 1, further comprising a voice detection module for detecting a voice input operation received by the voice input unit when the voice input unit is detected to have voice input, determining whether the input method currently used by the text input interface is a voice input method, and determining whether the voice input unit is receiving voice by using a voice-to-text method.

The system for automatically switching between input methods according to claim 1, further comprising a handwriting detection module, wherein the handwriting detection module is configured to detect a handwriting operation received by the touch screen when the user slides on the touch screen through a finger or a stylus, determine whether the input method currently used by the text input interface is a handwriting input method, and detect whether the touch screen is receiving the handwriting input operation.
4. The automatic input method switching system of claim 1, further comprising a handwriting input module, wherein the handwriting input module is configured to convert a handwriting input operation received by the touch screen into text and display the text on the text input interface.

A method for automatically switching input methods of a palm-type electronic device, the palm-type electronic device comprises a character input interface, a touch screen and a voice input unit, and is characterized in that the method for automatically switching the input methods comprises the following steps:
under any character input mode and non-voice input mode of the palm electronic device, when a user is doing voice input operation through the voice input unit, the input method currently used by the palm electronic device is automatically switched into the voice input method; and
under any character input mode and non-handwriting input method mode of the palm electronic device, when a user is doing handwriting input operation through the touch screen, the input method currently used by the palm electronic device is automatically switched to a handwriting input method;
if the currently used input method is a voice input method and the voice input unit is receiving voice, judging whether the voice input unit is receiving voice or not by using a voice-to-character mode, converting the voice input by the voice input unit into characters, and displaying the characters on the character input interface.
6. The method for automatically switching an input method according to claim 5, further comprising:
when detecting that the voice input unit has voice input, detecting voice input operation received by the voice input unit;
judging whether the input method currently used by the character input interface is a voice input method;
if the currently used input method is not a voice input method, judging whether the voice input unit is receiving voice by converting voice into a character mode; and
if the voice input unit is receiving voice, the currently used input method is automatically switched to a voice input method.
7. The method for automatically switching an input method according to claim 5, further comprising:
detecting the handwriting operation received by the touch screen when a user slides on the touch screen through a finger or a handwriting pen;
judging whether the input method currently used by the character input interface is a handwriting input method;
if the currently used input method is not a handwriting input method, detecting whether the touch screen is receiving handwriting input operation; and
and if the touch screen is receiving the handwriting input operation, automatically switching the currently used input method into the handwriting input method.
8. The method for automatically switching an input method according to claim 7, further comprising:
if the currently used input method is a handwriting input method and the touch screen is receiving handwriting input operation, converting the handwriting input operation received by the touch screen into characters and displaying the characters on the character input interface.
