技术领域
本发明大体上涉及轴组件,并且更具体地涉及车轴。
背景技术
车轴被广泛地使用,特别是在车辆中使用车轴来支承车轮以用于旋转。多根车轴将车轮连接至驱动装置,例如,汽车的差速器。车轴、特别地用于汽车的车轴通常由实心的金属轴形成,其中,所述实心的金属轴的相对两端被形成以用于连接到车辆的驱动构件和从动构件。例如,凸缘可以锻造或焊接至车轴的一个端部上以用于连接至轮毂组件,而车轴的相对端部可以设置有花键以用于连接至差速齿轮。
车轴必须传递相当大的转矩并且承受动力传输和偶发冲击负荷的快速启动和停止。在不够结实以足够应对过载情况的车轴中会发生诸如断裂的车轴损坏。不幸的是,超安全标准设计以应对冲击负荷和其它极端转矩情况的车轴增加了不期望的重量和成本。
期望的是提供一种将在正常条件和过载条件下传递转矩但是轻质而且成本划算的车轴。
发明内容
本发明涉及一种车轴,所述车轴具有:细长的实心中央段、具有外部花键的第一端部部分、以及具有径向向外延伸的凸缘的第二端部部分。第一端部部分和第二端部部分中的一个或者二者限定了腔。第一端部部分中的腔在外部花键下方轴向地延伸。第二端部部分中的腔在凸缘下方轴向地延伸。优选地,车轴与锻造的凸缘一体地形成为整块式钢构件。对于公路用重型卡车而言本车轴尤为有用。
本发明允许设计成本划算、重量减轻的轴,并且所述轴具有足够的强度以使得即使在过载条件下也能承载所需的转矩。当结合各附图阅读时,根据以下对优选实施例的详细描述,对于本领域中的技术人员而言本发明的各方面将变得显而易见。

具体实施方式
参照图1,用于公路用重型卡车的车辆轴组件10包括驱动车轴20。车轴20具有带花键的内置端部部分30以用于与差速装置12的侧齿轮驱动连接,如本领域中众所周知的那样。车轴20具有外置端部部分40,所述外置端部部分包括车轮驱动凸缘50。凸缘50被锻造至车轴的端部上,但是替代性地可以通过例如摩擦焊接的方法来附接所述凸缘。凸缘50包括螺栓孔以便帮助将车轴附接至轮毂组件14,所述轮毂组件辅助安装轮胎和车轮组件16。
参照图2,车轴20具有细长的实心中央段22,所述细长的实心中央段具有纵向轴线“A”。车轴20的内置端部部分30锻造有增大的直径32以提供用于花键的足够高度,从而用于与差速组件12的侧齿轮连接。外置端部部分40包括凸缘50以用于与轮毂组件14驱动连接。在典型的公路用重型卡车中,车轴20的长度为大约40英寸,并且中央段22的直径为大约1.8英寸。内置端部部分30的外表面的增大直径32为大约2.0英寸。凸缘50的直径为大约8.5英寸并且厚度为大约0.5英寸。
参照图3,内置端部部分30的外表面具有外部花键34,所述外部花键被构造成用以接合差速组件12的侧齿轮。花键34的长度为大约4英寸。环形的端部表面35包围内腔36。内腔36在花键34的一部分下方轴向延伸大约1英寸。内腔36与花键34共轴以用于最优化平衡。
内腔36具有过渡表面37,所述过渡表面从端部表面35轴向向内地延伸以帮助锻造所述内腔。过渡表面37为截头圆锥状。内腔36具有相对平坦的底壁38。可以设置其它的腔形状以用于针对各种应用最优化锻造能力、强度和最小化应力集中。图4是替代性端部部分30’的剖视图。替代性端部部分30’具有包围内部的轴向延伸腔36’的环形端部表面35’。为了帮助锻造腔36’,过渡表面37’具有下延至半圆形的底壁38’中的简单半径。腔的深度39’为大约1英寸。腔的直径31’为大约0.8英寸以提供最优化的减重和足够的轴强度。腔的直径与花键的直径的比率为大约0.4,但是在其它轴尺寸或强度、转矩等特征的情况下所述比率能够介于大约0.3至0.5之间。花键的长度与腔的深度的比率为大约0.25,但是在其它轴尺寸或特征的情况下所述比率可以介于大约0.2至大约0.5之间。
参照图5和图6,车轴的外置端部40具有径向向外延伸的凸缘50。凸缘50与车轴的中央部分22和内置部分30锻造成一体。所述凸缘50具有毗邻中央段22的环形钟状件52。钟状件52轴向并且径向向外地延伸而且具有凹陷的内表面53。钟状件52是可选的,但是能够被设置成用以容纳轮毂组件14或者相关部件(例如,密封件)的特定设计。在不设有钟状件52的情况中,凸缘50将具有平坦圆盘的形状。
凸缘50具有从钟状件52径向向外延伸的环形平坦安装部分54。安装部分54具有螺栓孔55以用于安装轮毂组件14。平坦的环形安装表面58被精加工并且被构造成用以抵接轮毂组件14的平坦表面。凸缘50具有遵循螺栓孔样式的扇形外周56,其中所述扇形外周具有数量与螺栓孔个数相等的扇形件以减轻重量。凸缘50具有贯穿钟状件52和安装部分54二者的大约0.45英寸的一致厚度。
腔60完全在凸缘50的安装部分55和钟状件52的下方轴向向内地延伸。换言之,腔60轴向向内地延伸越过轴向的内安装表面58所在的平面并且位于车轴的中央段22的下方。腔60是通过与锻造凸缘50同步地锻造而成的,然而也可以通过机械加工形成所述腔。腔60与纵向轴线“A”共轴以用于最优化平衡。
从钟状件52的轴向最外侧表面开始测量的腔深度65为大约1.25英寸。从安装部分54的轴向最内侧安装表面58开始测量的腔深度66为大约0.9英寸。腔的深度66与中央段22直径的比率为大约0.5,但是在其它轴尺寸或强度、转矩等特征的情况下所述比率也可以介于大约0.4至大约0.6之间。
腔60具有环形过渡表面61,所述环形过渡表面具有从钟状件52轴向向内延伸的简单半径以帮助锻造。腔60具有大体圆筒形的内壁62和半球状的底部内表面64。腔的直径为大约0.8英寸。腔的直径与中央段的直径的比率为大约0.45,但是在其它轴尺寸或特征的情况下所述比率可以介于大约0.3至大约0.6之间。
用于制造车轴20的优选方法是首先锻造内置端部以形成腔36和增大的直径部分32。接下来,锻造外置端部40以同时形成凸缘50和腔60。尽管对于形成腔而言目前锻造是优选的,但是也可以采用其它方法,例如,机械加工。在锻造之后,机械加工花键34、凸缘表面58等并且硬化车轴,如本领域中众所周知的那样。
在优选实施例中已经解释和图解了本发明的操作模式和原理。然而,在不背离由以下权利要求限定的精神或范围的前提下,可以采用与具体解释和图解不同的其它方案来实践本发明。例如,针对优选实施例在本文中指出的各尺寸可以随着更大或更小的车轴或者随着具有变化转矩特征的车轴而发生改变。

Claims (19)

1.一种车轴,所述车轴包括具有纵向轴线的细长实心中央段,所述车轴具有纵向间隔开的第一端部部分和第二端部部分,所述第一端部部分具有限定了外部花键的外表面,所述第二端部部分具有径向向外延伸的凸缘,其中,所述第一端部部分限定了在所述外部花键下方轴向延伸的腔,并且其中,所述第二端部部分限定了在所述凸缘下方轴向延伸的腔。
2.根据权利要求1所述的车轴,其中,所述凸缘与所述车轴形成为一体。
3.根据权利要求1所述的车轴,其中,所述第二端部部分的腔完全在所述凸缘下方轴向地延伸。
4.根据权利要求1所述的车轴,其中,所述凸缘包括毗邻所述细长实心中央段的轴向向外延伸的环形钟状件。
5.根据权利要求4所述的车轴,其中,所述凸缘包括与所述环形钟状件径向向外地间隔开的平面状安装段。
6.根据权利要求5所述的车轴,其中,所述凸缘的平面状安装段定位在所述钟状件的轴向向内处。
7.根据权利要求6所述的车轴,其中,所述第二端部部分的腔完全在所述凸缘的钟状件和所述平面状安装段下方轴向地延伸并且在所述细长实心中央段的一部分下方轴向地延伸。
8.根据权利要求1所述的车轴,其中,所述车轴是钢制成的,并且所述凸缘与所述细长实心中央段形成为一体。
9.根据权利要求1所述的车轴,其中,所述外部花键被构造成用以接合车辆的差速组件。
10.一种车轴,所述车轴包括具有纵向轴线的细长实心中央段,所述车轴具有内置端部部分和外置端部部分,所述内置端部部分具有限定了外部花键的外表面,所述外部花键被构造成用于与车辆的差速组件驱动接合,所述外置端部部分具有径向向外地延伸的凸缘,所述凸缘被构造成用于安装车辆的轮毂,其中,所述内置端部部分限定了在所述外部花键下方轴向延伸的内置腔。
11.根据权利要求10所述的车轴,其中,所述内置腔的轴向深度与所述外部花键的长度的比率介于大约0.2至大约0.5之间。
12.根据权利要求10所述的车轴,其中,所述内置腔具有环形部分,并且其中,所述环形部分的直径与所述外部花键的直径的比率介于大约0.3至大约0.5之间。
13.根据权利要求10所述的车轴,其中,所述内置腔具有半球形的底壁。
14.根据权利要求10所述的车轴,其中,所述内置端部部分具有径向延伸的环形端部表面,并且其中,所述内置腔具有半球形的底壁和从所述环形端部表面轴向延伸向所述底壁的过渡表面。
15.一种车轴,所述车轴包括具有纵向轴线的细长实心中央段,所述车轴具有外置端部部分和内置端部部分,所述外置端部部分具有径向向外延伸的凸缘,所述凸缘被构造以用于安装车辆的轮毂,其中,所述外置端部部分限定了在所述凸缘下方轴向延伸的外置腔。
16.根据权利要求15所述的车轴,其中,所述车轴的所述细长实心中央段是圆柱形,并且其中,所述凸缘具有用于与轮毂组件交接的内置表面,并且其中,从所述凸缘的所述内置表面开始测量的所述外置腔的轴向深度与所述车轴的细长实心中央段的直径的比率介于大约0.4至大约0.6之间。
17.根据权利要求15所述的车轴,其中,所述车轴的所述细长实心中央段是圆柱形的,并且其中,所述外置腔具有环形部分,并且其中,所述外置腔的直径与所述细长实心中央段的直径的比率介于大约0.3至大约0.6之间。
18.根据权利要求15所述的车轴,其中,所述凸缘具有钟形件,并且其中,所述外置腔完全在所述钟形件下方延伸。
19.根据权利要求15所述的车轴,其中,所述外置腔具有半球形的底壁和从所述凸缘轴向延伸至所述底壁的过渡表面。
