Description

Communication control method and device
Technical Field
The present invention relates to the field of communications technologies, and in particular, to a communication control method and apparatus.
Background
At present, service transmission of User Equipment (UE) in Long Term Evolution (LTE) and Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN) Networks can be performed simultaneously and dynamically adjusted. The LTE air interface process and the WLAN air interface process are kept unchanged, and the service transmission processes of the UE in the LET network and the WLAN network are respectively and independently carried out.
The UE first establishes an association with an access point (WLAN AP) of the WLAN before the WLAN network performs traffic transmission.
At present, after the LTE network determines that the UE starts the WLAN network, the UE starts an association process to the WLAN AP, and considering the time delay (longest 1s) of the association process, the time delay for the UE to actually start the WLAN to perform service transmission is longer, which results in longer time delay for starting the WLAN network, reduces real-time control over the WLAN network, and reduces system utilization.
In addition, in the prior art, the disassociation process of the UE from the WLAN AP may be initiated by the UE or the WLAN AP and completed in the WLAN network. The base station cannot know whether the UE is disassociated with the WLAN AP or not, so that service transmission of the WLAN network cannot be controlled in time, and the system utilization rate is reduced.

Detailed Description
The core idea of the invention is that the base station participates in the association process between the UE and the WLAN AP, and the UE is ensured to be informed to start the wireless local area network by the base station no later than the time when the base station starts the wireless local area network, and the association between the UE and the WLAN AP is established (namely the UE obtains the association information of the WLAN AP). The base station participates in the disassociation process between the UE and the WLAN AP, so that the base station can know the disassociation between the UE and the WLAN AP in time, and the WLAN network can be controlled in real time in time. Therefore, the technical scheme provided by the embodiment of the invention can immediately provide or stop the service transmitted by the WLAN for the UE when the WLAN is added or deleted, thereby improving the real-time performance of the base station on the WLAN service transmission control and improving the system utilization rate.
The technical solutions provided by the embodiments of the present invention will be described in detail below with reference to the accompanying drawings.
First, the UE, the WLAN AP, and the base station are described below, and then the implementation of each device is described from one side. It should be noted that this does not represent that the three must be implemented in concert.
As shown in fig. 1, a communication control method provided in an embodiment of the present invention specifically includes the following operations:
step 100, the base station sends a WLAN network starting command to the UE.
Wherein the open WLAN network command is used to inform the UE to start the WLAN assisted transmission function.
Step 110, the UE obtains the association information of the WLAN AP while or before receiving the command to start the WLAN network sent by the base station.
In the embodiment of the present invention, the association information of the WLAN AP may be, but is not limited to, AID.
Step 120, after receiving the WLAN network opening command, the UE performs WLAN service transmission through the WLAN ap corresponding to the association information.
In the method provided by the embodiment of the invention, the UE already acquires the association information of the WLAN AP at the same time or before the WLAN network starting command sent by the base station is received. Therefore, after receiving the command of starting the WLAN, the WLAN service can be immediately transmitted through the WLAN AP corresponding to the association information without performing the association process with the WLAN AP, thereby improving the real-time control of the base station on the WLAN and improving the system utilization rate.
In the embodiment of the present invention, there are various ways for the UE to acquire the association information of the WLAN AP. Preferred implementations thereof are exemplified below.
The first method for acquiring the association information of the WLAN AP: and receiving the association information of the WLAN AP sent by the base station.
Preferably, the association information of the WLAN AP is carried in a WLAN network turn-on command sent by the base station. Of course, the association information of WLAN ap and the command to open WLAN network may be carried in different messages.
For the non-mobility scenario, the UE receives association information of the WLAN AP and a turn on WLAN network command from its serving base station. Specifically, the serving base station of the UE negotiates with the WLAN AP to obtain the association information of the WLAN AP.
For the mobility scenario, the UE receives a handover command message from the target base station during the handover procedure. The above-mentioned WLAN network startup command and the association information of the WLAN AP are carried in the handover command message. Specifically, the source base station provides the current 3GPP network configuration (for example, the current configuration of the UE) and the configuration of the WLAN AP currently associated with the UE to the target base station in the handover preparation process; after the target base station determines that the UE is switched and directly works in a 3GPP + WLAN aggregation mode, the target base station directly includes the target WLAN AP related information in the associated information and configures the associated information to the UE; the UE directly starts working at the target base station and the target WLAN AP according to the switching command message; and starting the service transmission of the WLAN when the WLAN directly enters a service transmission stage or after the cell access of the target base station is successful.
And a second WLAN AP association information acquisition mode: the association information is obtained from the WLAN AP.
Specifically, an association establishment request message is sent to the WLAN AP; and receiving an association establishment response message returned by the WLAN AP, wherein the association establishment response message carries the association information.
Wherein the UE may actively obtain the association information from the WLAN AP. Specifically, the UE searches for a WLAN AP and transmits an association setup request message to the searched WLAN AP. The UE may also search within the authorized set of WLAN APs broadcast by the network.
The UE may also obtain association information from the WLAN AP under the trigger of the base station. For example, the base station sends an association command to the UE before sending a command to turn on the WLAN AP network; and the UE receives the association command sent by the base station and sends an association establishment request message to the WLAN AP according to the association command.
The association command may carry identification information of the WLAN AP, and the UE searches for the WLAN AP according to the identification information and sends an association establishment request message to the WLAN AP. And if the association command does not carry the identification information of the WLAN AP, the UE searches the WLAN AP after receiving the association command and sends an association establishment request message to the searched WLA NAP.
For non-mobility scenarios, the UE receives an association command from its serving base station.
For a mobility scenario, in a handover process, the UE receives a handover command message sent by a target base station, where the handover command message carries the association command. Specifically, the source base station provides information such as 3GPP network configuration (for example, current configuration of the UE) and WLAN AP currently associated with the UE to the target base station in the handover preparation process; the target base station judges the information (such as the identification information of the WLAN AP, SSID and the like) of the WLAN AP needing the UE to be associated in advance, and informs the UE through the source base station through a switching command message; and the UE starts to establish association on the target WLAN AP after or at the same time of accessing the cell of the target base station according to the switching command message.
For the second implementation manner, after the UE completes association with the WLAN AP, the UE and/or the associated WLAN AP may further send a response message to the base station, where the response message is used to inform the base station that the association establishment is successful. Accordingly, the base station receives the response message sent by the UE and/or the WLAN AP.
The technical solution provided by the above embodiment of the present invention is described in detail below by taking a network architecture in which the LET eNB and the WLAN AP are co-located as an example.
Fig. 2 shows that in a non-mobile scenario, based on the network architecture, an association process of the UE in the WLAN network is avoided through cooperation of LTE and WLAN AP. The specific process is as follows:
step 200, the UE and the eNB establish LTE connection.
Wherein the UE has the capability of WLAN assisted LTE transmission.
Step 210, the eNB determines to enable WLAN assisted transmission for the UE according to the UE location or LTE/WLAN signal quality and other information.
Step 220, the eNB negotiates with the WLAN AP to obtain association information from the WLAN AP.
Wherein, the association information may be, but not limited to, AID, etc.
The WLAN AP is ready to serve the UE through the negotiation process at a later time.
Step 230, the eNB sends a WLAN network opening command to the UE, where the network command carries association information of the WLAN AP.
And informing the UE to start the WLAN auxiliary transmission function by starting the WLAN network command.
Specifically, the command to turn on the WLAN network can be sent through L1/L2/L3 signaling.
Optionally, the signaling also carries basic beacon information of WLAN network access, and the like.
Step 240, the UE starts the WIFI module according to the received WLAN network starting command, and enters a service transmission phase (i.e. starts the WLAN auxiliary transmission function) between the WLAN directly and the corresponding WLAN AP according to the provided association information of the WLAN AP.
Fig. 3 shows that, in a mobile handover scenario, based on the network architecture, an association process of the UE in the WLAN network is avoided through cooperation of LTE and WLAN AP. The specific process is as follows:
step 300, the UE and the source base station (SeNB) have established an LTE connection, and the SeNB decides handover.
Wherein the UE has the capability of WLAN assisted LTE transmission.
Step 310, the SeNB sends the current configuration of the UE to the target base station (TeNB) in the handover preparation process, and if there is a WLAN AP serving the UE currently, notifies the TeNB of the information about the WLAN AP together.
Step 320, the TeNB determines to admit the UE, and determines to enable WLAN assisted transmission for the UE according to the UE location or LTE/WLAN signal quality and other information.
Step 330, the TeNB negotiates with a target WLAN AP (T-WLAN AP) and obtains association information.
The target WLAN AP may be a WLAN AP currently associated with the UE, or a WLAN AP co-located with the TeNB.
The T-WLAN AP is ready to serve the UE through the negotiation process at a later time.
Step 340, the TeNB sends a handover command message to the UE, and the handover command message directly includes the target WLAN AP related information in the association information and configures the association information to the UE.
Wherein, the TeNB sends a switching command message to the UE through the SeNB.
Step 350, the UE starts the WIFI module during the handover process or after the LTE connection is established according to the handover command message, and enters a service transmission phase between the WLAN directly and the corresponding WLAN AP according to the provided association information of the WLAN AP.
Fig. 4 shows that based on the network architecture, LTE triggers UE to complete the association process in advance before starting WLAN network for service transmission. The specific process is as follows:
step 400, the UE and the eNB establish LTE connection.
Wherein the UE has the capability of WLAN assisted LTE transmission.
Step 410, the eNB sends an association command to the UE.
Specifically, an association command may be sent via L1/L2/L3 signaling to inform the UE to associate with the WLAN AP.
Step 420, after the UE successfully associates with the WLAN AP, the WLAN AP or the UE notifies the eNB.
Specifically, the UE sends an association establishment request message to the WLAN AP, and the WLAN AP returns an association establishment response message to the UE, where the association establishment response message carries association information, thereby completing association.
And step 430, when the eNB needs to transmit the service through the WLAN network, directly notifying the UE to start the WLAN network transmission through L1/L2/L3 signaling.
Fig. 5 shows a process of the UE automatically detecting and completing association to the WLAN AP and notifying the eNB of the association information based on the network architecture. The specific process is as follows:
step 500, the UE and the eNB establish an LTE connection.
Wherein the UE has the capability of WLAN assisted LTE transmission.
Step 510, the UE autonomously completes the association procedure.
Specifically, the UE sends an association establishment request message to the WLAN AP, and the WLAN AP returns an association establishment response message to the UE, where the association establishment response message carries association information, thereby completing association.
Step 520, the UE or WLAN AP informs the eNB of the UE association (i.e. sends a response message to the eNB).
In step 530, the eNB notifies the associated WLAN AP information to the UE when determining to provide the WLAN service to the UE.
Step 540, the UE starts WLAN transmission directly with the designated associated WLAN AP.
