Abstract

Description
技术领域
本发明涉及一种用于同轴RF连接器的应变释放件。更具体地,本发明涉及一种应变释放件,该应变释放件可模制在波纹件外导体电缆到连接器互连部周围,提供密封和强度特性,该密封和强度特性增强同轴连接器到同轴电缆互连部。
背景技术
同轴电缆和同轴连接器用于例如需要高水平的精度和可靠性的通信系统。为了产生同轴电缆和同轴连接器之间的节省成本的电-机械互连,通常希望通过焊接使电缆和连接器互连。
当将同轴连接器焊接到同轴电缆时,焊料预制件可以用于改善互连质量。焊料预制件的使用使施加焊料的部位和量标准化。这种技术的代表是1998年9月8日授予Bufanda等人(Bufanda)的共同拥有的美国专利No.5802710。Bufanda公开一种焊料预制件,该焊料预制件具有平面的连接器侧(外表面)和电缆侧(内表面),该电缆侧的尺寸被设计用来与环形波状外导体的波纹相结合。例如用来焊接同轴连接器与光滑侧壁外导体同轴电缆的其它焊料预制件已经被设置为多个环形环和/或圆柱形管。为了便于焊接之前的组装,焊料预制件典型地松弛地配合在形成在连接器本体和外导体之间的希望的互连区域焊接腔内。
连接器到电缆互连焊接典型地在连接器和同轴电缆竖直取向的情况下被执行,例如,如2011年3月8授予Ng等人的US7,900,344中公开的。因此,在焊接过程期间当热被施加到焊料预制件时,焊料液化并且汇集在互连区域焊接腔的底部中。焊料汇集在外导体和连接器本体之间保留环形焊接预制腔,该环形焊接预制腔延伸到连接器本体的电缆端部。
同轴电缆可以使用铝材料,例如,用来实现材料成本和/或重量节省优点。然而,铝的使用也可能引入减小的强度和/或弯曲弹性的缺点。暴露到空气的铝材料快速地氧化,形成干涉焊料粘结的氧化铝覆层。具有热激活的高的酸含量的特殊铝材料特定焊接焊剂可以用于制备用于焊接的铝材料表面。然而,这种焊剂可能难以均匀地施加在互连区域内。
热收缩管已经用作连接器到同轴电缆端接件的装饰件和/或应变释放件改进。然而,热收缩管可以提供仅仅有限的环境密封,这可能允许湿气进入/冷凝,然后湿气汇集在热收缩管下面,直接在互连部上。

具体实施方式
本发明人已经认识到,同轴连接器和同轴电缆之间的焊接互连部,尤其是在使用具有铝材料外导体的同轴电缆的情况下,可能具有显著的强度缺陷,这是由于与现有技术铜材料外导体相比的铝外导体的相对强度和弹性。此外,因为用于制备焊接铝材料的专用焊剂难以平稳地施加,可能施加过多的焊剂,在完成焊接操作时导致焊剂残留,这然后需要另外的步骤来移除(在可能的情况下)。
残留的焊剂可能融合在呈沟槽和/或空穴的形式的焊接接头内,使得尤其是从焊接接头的中间区域的所有焊剂残留的移除是不实际的且/或不可能的。本发明人还已经认识到,这种焊剂也可能是吸湿的并且随着吸收水而逐渐腐蚀。
本发明人已经创造一种用于同轴连接器的应变释放件,该应变释放件在互连时提高该接头的总强度和应变释放件的密封件密封性质。
如图1中所示,示例性同轴连接器1和同轴电缆3之间的互连部使用焊接接头2,该焊接接头在外导体4的外径和连接器本体10的孔8的互连区域6的内径之间。可以应用电介质圆盘12来封闭互连区域6的连接器端部,因此减小熔融焊料从连接区域6溢出的可能性。在焊料预制件熔化且汇集时,在得到的焊接接头2、孔8的内径、外导体4的外径和连接器本体10的电缆端部之间形成环形预制腔14。
用于同轴电缆和同轴连接器互连部的应变释放件16可以通过注射模制聚合物材料而形成,以用至少一个连续的聚合物部分18包围该互连部,例如,如图2中所示。
聚合物材料可以是适合于低温低压注射模制的热塑性材料,该热塑性材料具有耐紫外线的且防风雨的弹性特性。合适的聚合物材料是聚酰胺;示例性聚酰胺材料是从德国杜塞尔多夫的Henkel AG&Co.KGaA可获得的MacromeltOM648。可选择地,可以采用任何合适的低压注射模制热塑性粘合剂。
低压注射模制提供合适的腔穿透,而不另外损坏已存在的同轴电缆和/或互连部。低压注射模制的优选压力范围在5至40巴之间。类似地,注射模制的热应当足够低,以避免软化焊接接头,损坏同轴电缆3的聚合物隔离和/或外护套20。注射模制的优选温度范围是200至240摄氏度之间。可选择地,在施加标准注射模制的压力和温度而不会损害电缆和/或互连部情况下,也可以施加标准注射模制的压力和温度。
在低压注射模制期间的聚合物材料的液体注射填充预制腔14,并且抵靠连接器本体10和外护套20密封,包封任何剩余焊剂且/或还填充可能存在于焊接接头中的任何空隙、沟槽21和/或空穴23,例如,如图3-5中所示。因此,焊接接头2和任何焊剂残留被完全包封以免湿气进入,湿气进入可腐蚀金属表面且/或与焊剂残留反应以引发金属表面和/或焊接接头的加速腐蚀。
如图2中最佳地示出的,应变释放件16可以通过模具成形为希望的覆盖面积、厚度和/或外表面构造,在注射模制期间围绕该互连部施加应变释放件。
应变释放件16可以被锚固在同轴连接器1的连接器本体10的应变释放部分22上。应变释放部分22可以设置有多个保持部,诸如凹槽、突起等等。如图6中最佳地示出的,在保持部是非圆柱形(诸如隆起部分24)的情况下,提供防旋转特性,该防旋转特性进一步增加应变释放件16在应变释放部分22上的密封和/或保持。应变释放部分22可以设置成邻近设置有工具面的连接器本体的工具面部分26,在连接器与另一连接器和/或装置的互连期间在拧紧连接螺母时,该工具面用来接收手工工具等等以保持连接器静止。本领域技术人员将理解,在隆起部分24和工具面部分26具有共同的几何形状的情况下,实现隆起部分24的防旋转益处并且可以简化连接器本体10的机加工。
应变释放件16可以具有在同轴电缆3上延伸的电缆部分28,该电缆部分向着电缆端部成锥形,向同样成锥形的互连部提供加强,使得应变释放件16提供的加强不突然终止于刚性边缘,在该刚性边缘处,如果在互连部附近受到过大弯曲力,同轴电缆3将很可能弯曲。
应变释放件16的电缆部分28可以在同轴电缆3上离开互连部延伸相当大的长度,诸如大于同轴电缆3的三倍直径的距离。
除了且/或替代施加到电缆部分28的锥形,电缆部分28可以设置有多个应力释放凹槽30。应力释放凹槽30可以被实施为基本上椭圆形的凹槽,应力释放凹槽30的主轴线设置成垂直于同轴连接器3的纵向轴线。可以调节应力释放凹槽30的间隔、宽度和/或深度以向着电缆端部逐渐减小弯曲阻力,进一步增强锥形支撑特性,该锥形支撑特性在显著增加互连部的强度的同时,还保护同轴电缆3免于在应变释放件16的端部附近由于可能施加的任何过大弯曲力而弯曲,因此增加互连部的总强度和柔性特性。
应变释放件16可以替代地施加到具有波纹状外导体4的同轴电缆3(包括具有诸如铜的常规金属的导体的同轴电缆3)。
在波纹部32是环形的(例如,如图7和8中所示)或螺旋状的情况下,外护套20的一部分可以沿同轴电缆3的纵向轴线向后被剥去,以暴露外导体4的、在连接器本体10和外护套20之间的一部分,并且施加的聚合物材料覆盖外导体4的暴露部分36。暴露部分36可以沿同轴电缆的纵向轴线延伸至少两个槽-峰波形。即,延伸包含至少两个峰和/或两个槽的长度。
在这个实施例中,取代提供主要密封在外护套20上的聚合物材料,设置与外导体4直接接触的延伸区域,沿该延伸区域,聚合物材料可以与外导体4直接互锁,通过波纹槽32键合到外导体。因此,外护套20的任何弹性(具体地,在外护套延伸过外导体4的波纹槽34的情况下)和/或外导体4相对于外护套20纵向移动的可能性可以从应变释放件16的这些部分被消除。
替代地,例如,如图9和10中所示,在外导体4的波纹为螺旋状的情况下,连续的波纹槽34在外导体4和外护套20之间围绕外导体4的外径并且沿外导体4的外径纵向地穿过。在应变释放件16的模制期间,在外护套20邻接预制腔14之处,或者在可以向后剥离外护套20的沿外导体4的另外位置,聚合物材料将进入波纹槽32。通过调节聚合物材料的粘度(例如,通过配方和/或注射模制期间施加的温度和/或压力),可以控制聚合物材料沿波纹槽34填充的范围。为了为被支撑的外护套20的一部分提供类似于上述暴露部分36的减小的弹性特性,波纹槽34可以沿外导体4的至少一个圆周填充有聚合物材料。
波纹状外导体同轴电缆3,特别是使用常规铜材料的波纹状外导体同轴电缆,典型地具有较大的柔性特性和/或弯曲阻力。因此,应变释放件16的电缆部分28可以以通常较短的范围和/或厚度被施加以节省聚合物材料,例如,如图11中所示。此外,应变释放件16可以设置有流线型构造,其中聚合物部分18的外径被设置为在连接器端部基本上为圆柱形并且在电缆端部基本上为锥形圆锥。
本领域技术人员将理解,根据本发明的应变释放件16可以改善连接器本体到外导体4互连部的强度和环境密封。因此,促成可能包含空穴和/或沟槽的焊接接头2的互连质量和/或环境密封的加速退化的焊剂残留的现有问题减少,特别是在使用铝材料的情况下。因此,实现在同轴连接器和/或同轴电缆技术中进一步采用铝材料,而这可以为连接器和同轴电缆制造商实现显著的材料成本节省。
应变释放件16也可用于非铝导体电缆,诸如环形的或螺旋形的波状铜同轴电缆,由于应变释放件16的存在,除了加强连接器本体10到外导体4互连部的强度外,还禁止电缆端部附近的电缆弯曲。因此,否则可能促成无源互调失真的产生的同轴连接器1的连接接口处的导体移动可以减小。

1.一种用于同轴电缆和同轴连接器互连部的应变释放件,所述同轴电缆设置有外导体并且所述同轴连接器设置有带有孔的连接器本体,所述同轴线缆的外导体具有波纹部,所述应变释放件包括:包围所述互连部的可注射模制聚合物材料;所述可注射模制聚合物材料填充所述同轴电缆的外导体、焊接接头和所述连接器本体的孔的内径之间的焊接预制腔。
2.根据权利要求1所述的应变释放件,其中,所述同轴电缆的、包围所述外导体的护套沿所述同轴电缆的纵向轴线被向后剥去,以暴露所述外导体的、在所述连接器本体和所述护套之间的一部分;所述可注射模制聚合物材料覆盖所述外导体的暴露部分。
3.根据权利要求1所述的应变释放件,其中,所述波纹部是环形的。
4.根据权利要求2所述的应变释放件,其中,所述暴露部分沿所述同轴电缆的纵向轴线延伸至少两个槽-峰波形。
5.根据权利要求1所述的应变释放件,其中,所述外导体的波纹部具有螺旋状波纹;所述可注射模制聚合物材料沿所述外导体的至少一个圆周在所述外导体和包围所述外导体的护套之间填充所述外导体的螺旋状波纹槽。
6.根据权利要求1所述的应变释放件,其中,所述可注射模制聚合物材料的外径在连接器端部基本上为圆柱形的并且在电缆端部基本上为锥形圆锥。
7.根据权利要求1所述的应变释放件,其中,所述可注射模制聚合物材料是聚酰胺材料。
8.根据权利要求1所述的应变释放件,其中,包围所述同轴连接器的所述应变释放件被安置在所述连接器本体的应变释放部分上。
9.根据权利要求8所述的应变释放件,其中,所述应变释放部分设置有多个非圆柱形的隆起部分。
10.根据权利要求8所述的应变释放件,其中,所述应变释放部分邻接所述连接器本体的工具面部分。
11.一种用来制造用于同轴电缆和同轴连接器互连部的应变释放件的方法,所述同轴电缆设置有外导体并且所述同轴连接器设置有带有孔的连接器本体,所述同轴电缆的外导体具有波纹部,所述方法包括以下步骤:
围绕所述互连部注射模制聚合物材料;
可注射模制的所述聚合物材料填充所述同轴电缆的外导体、焊接接头和所述连接器本体的孔的内径之间的焊接预制腔。
12.根据权利要求11所述的方法,其中,所述聚合物材料是聚酰胺材料。
13.根据权利要求11所述的方法,其中,在所述注射模制期间,在200至240摄氏度之间的温度下施加所述可注射模制材料。
14.根据权利要求11所述的方法,其中,所述注射模制在5至40巴之间的注射压力下执行。
15.根据权利要求11所述的方法,其中,包围所述外导体的所述同轴电缆的护套沿所述同轴电缆的纵向轴线被向后剥去,以暴露所述外导体的、在所述连接器本体和所述护套之间的一部分;所述可注射模制聚合物材料覆盖所述外导体的暴露部分。
16.根据权利要求11所述的方法,其中,所述波纹部是环形的。
17.根据权利要求15所述的方法,其中,所述暴露部分沿所述同轴电缆的纵向轴线延伸至少两个槽-峰波形。
18.根据权利要求11所述的方法,其中,所述外导体的波纹部具有螺旋状波纹并且所述同轴电缆的护套包围所述外导体;所述可注射模制聚合物材料沿所述外导体的至少一个圆周在所述外导体和所述护套之间填充所述外导体的螺旋状波纹槽。
19.根据权利要求18所述的方法,其中,施加注射压力,所述注射压力选择为采用所述可注射模制聚合物材料填充所述螺旋状波纹槽的希望部分。
20.根据权利要求11所述的方法,其中,所述可注射模制聚合物材料的外径在连接器端部附近基本上为圆柱形的,并且在电缆端部附近基本上为锥形圆锥。
