发明内容

应当认识到可以实施与这里的教导一致的除了图3的实施例之外的部署系统架构。例如尽管图3在多节点应用平台300托管的基础设施平台308上实施部署系统306,但是应当认识到部署系统306可以由除了多节点应用平台300之外的实体在任何类型的硬件基础设施上面、比如在非虚拟化基础设施平台上实施为直接在硬件资源310上的进程或者守护进程(daemon)。还应当认识到实施例可以用松耦合方式配置部署系统306和基础设施平台308,而在部署系统306与基础设施平台308之间的通信仅通过基础设施308的编排部件318发生,该编排部件通过连接到寻址和发现层334来监视硬件资源消耗。在这样的松耦合实施例中,应当认识到可以在任何基础设施平台上、包括在膝上型或者个人计算机上(例如在该情况下,部署系统306的每个部件在膝上型或者个人计算机上作为单独进程或者后台程序运行)实施部署系统306。
图4描绘部署引导器320的一个实施例的更具体视图。部署引导器320基于部署清单402管理云计算平台应用200的部署,该部署清单描述云计算平台应用200的希望的部署后计算环境。部署清单402例如按照名称和/或版本号指定待部署的云计算平台应用200的发布。部署清单402提供云计算平台应用200的全规范,该规范包括具体功能部件(例如云控制器202、健康管理器208、应用执行代理206等)、基础设施平台308提供的逻辑基础设施350(例如主干单元VM324M)、功能部件的向逻辑基础设施350上的映射。例如部署清单402可以指定应当调配十个主干单元VM以托管组成云计算平台应用200的部件。系统管理员可以创建用于云计算平台应用200的初始部署的部署清单402、修改部署清单402以向上或者向下缩放已经部署的云计算平台应用200或者升级部署的云计算平台应用200。在一个具体实现中,部署清单402是用结构化文档格式、比如YAML或者可扩展标记语言(XML)格式化的配置文件,该配置文件具有有助于部署系统306的部署过程的名称-值对和/或名称-值对的分级节段。结合下表1中所示样本部署清单来描述部署清单402的细节。

部署清单402可以指定用于云计算平台应用200的网络配置,该网络配置包括一个或者多个网络和/或虚拟局域网(VLAN)。例如部署清单402可以定义具有设置的一个或者多个网络,这些设置指定子网、静态或者动态IP地址、网关和DNS地址和保留的网际协议(IP)地址(即部署系统306将不使用的IP地址)。在表1中的示例部署中,在标题为“networks”的节段之下指定标注为“management”的第一网络和标注为“apps”的第二网络。指定标注为“management”的网络具有静态IP地址范围11.23.3.2.17至11.23.2.218而网关地址为11.23.2.1并且DNS地址为11.22.22.153。部署清单402可以指定网络的“范围(range)”,该范围可以由部署引导器320用作动态IP地址池减去静态和保留的IP地址。可以向主干单元VM和在其上执行的代理322传递部署清单402指定的网关和DNS信息用于它们的初始起动和自举。部署清单402可以在每个节段中包括将在部署期间向基础设施平台308提供的一个或者多个直通(passthrough)设置(例如“cloud_properties”)。
基于部署清单402,部署引导器320生成逻辑基础设施350,该逻辑基础设施包括将主干单元VM与主干单元(例如VM模板)和网络进行关联的一个或者多个资源池(在图4中表示为资源池4041和4042)。例如标注为“small”的资源池与指定为“bosh-stemcell”版本0.2.39的主干单元和与在部署清单402内定义的“management”网络关联。主干单元是指定义广义软件基础设施的VM模板,该软件基础设施支持对部署引导器320提供的并且如部署清单402指定的作业的执行。在一些实施例中,主干单元是VM模板,该VM模板包括安装于访客操作系统406上的代理322以及用于代理322的任何支持运行时间、框架和库。可以向每个资源池指派与将为资源池调配的干单元VM324M的数目对应的大小。例如部署引导器320为“small”资源池调配14个主干单元VM。部署清单402可以包括用于基础设施平台308的用于调配资源池404的直通设置。例如“cloud_properties”节段指示既定用于由基础机构平台308在为“small”资源池调配主干单元VM时使用的“ram”、“disk”和“cpu”性质(即具有1024MB的RAM、4096Mb的盘空间和1个CPU)。
部署清单402可以定义用于在部署期间编译软件包和/或其它辅助处理任务的工作器(例如工作器330)的专门化资源池。工作器的专门化资源池可以包括基础设施平台308提供的一个或者多个辅助VM。部署清单402可以指定向工作器资源池分配的VM数目和可以在其上执行编译的网络。例如以上“compliation”节段指定具有向用于编译软件包的“management”网络指派的6个工作器的资源池。
部署清单402定义一个或者多个主干单元VM324M可以作为云计算平台应用200中的一个或者多个角色(例如云控制器202、路由器204、应用执行代理206、健康管理器208、服务调配器210、服务212、消息总线214等)执行的多个作业。部署清单402指定每个作业的向资源池404的逻辑基础设施350和以上指定的网络上的映射。部署清单402可以指定特定作业的待部署的实例数目、哪个资源池使用主干单元VM和/或作业在哪个网络上。例如在表1中的示例中,标注为“cloud_controller”的作业被列出为具有八个实例(主干单元VM324),该八个示例例如从资源池“large”抽取并且向“management”网络指派。每个作业可以包括多个配置文件模板,其中关键参数(例如登录证书、IP地址、端口)被指定作为变量。
在一个实施例中,部署清单402包括“properties”节段,该节段使系统管理员能够参数化这些配置文件模板。这样,在部署引导器320部署云计算平台应用200时,部署引导器320可以解析配置文件模板,并且基于在“properties”节段中提供的对应值“填写”适当参数。例如路由器作业可以具有列出用于路由器服务的登录证书作为变量(“<$user>”、“<$password>”)的配置文件。在这样的示例中,部署引导器320基于在properties节段中提供的“user:”和“password:”名称-值对解析出并且计算(evalute)变量。表2列出作为可以由部署引导器320解析的Rails脚本文件(例如ERB模板)上的Ruby而具体化的示例配置文件模板。

图5描绘用于由部署引导器320部署云计算平台应用200的流程图。在步骤500中,部署引导器320例如从管理客户端304接收对部署云计算平台应用200的请求。部署清单402和发布可以与请求包括在一起或者备选地可以在发出部署请求之前已经提前加载到部署引导器320上。如以上描述的那样,部署清单402提供云计算平台应用200的规范,部署引导器320可以使用该规范以将为了支持云计算平台应用200而需要的管理作业映射到在部署期间利用的虚拟计算资源。在一个实施例中,发布包括组织成带存档文件或者“tar”文件(也被称为“tarball”)的一个或者多个应用包和配置文件。应当认识到备选实施例可以在步骤500通过接收用于下载或者访问发布的引用、例如通过提供对对象存储库332的引用、统一资源定位符(“URL”)、Git贮存库或者对包数据的其它相似引用来接收发布而不是发送发布本身。在这样的实施例中,接收发布的步骤因此将利用提供的引用以取读发布。
在步骤502中,部署引导器302基于部署清单402确定用于托管云计算平台应用200的逻辑基础设施350。例如在一个实施例中,部署引导器320处理部署清单402以确定对被组织成资源池和网络分组的主干单元VM的分配,以用于托管云计算平台应用200的节点。在步骤506中,部署引导器320基于在步骤502中确定的逻辑基础设施350向基础设施平台308发送对于多个主干单元VM的调配请求,该基础设施平台308又在步骤506中接收调配请求。例如在一个实施例中,部署引导器320可能需要利用有时被称为“云提供方接口”(CPI)的云提供方应用编程接口从云基础设施服务提供方调配主干单元VM的实例。在步骤508中,基础设施平台308利用主干单元模板来创建主干单元VM的一个或者多个实例,该主干单元模板具有预装的代理322并且具有如由部署清单402指定的资源和网络配置。例如在一个实施例中,基础设施平台308可以利用模板(例如主干单元)来创建主干单元VM,该模板具有封装的格式、比如开放虚拟化格式(OVF)并且包含访客操作系统内核、实用程序(例如openssh-server、monit)、库(例如libxml、libmysql、libsqlite)、运行时依赖性(例如Ruby、Java虚拟机)和代理322。在一个具体实现中,可以在开始部署过程之前生成并且存储主干单元用于由基础设施平台308和/或部署引导器320以后取回。
在步骤510中,一个或者多个主干单元VM(例如主干单元VM3241)开始操作并且起动代理322。在步骤512中,部署引导器320经由寻址和发现层334为部署清单402指定的每个作业向主干单元VM324提供作业配置和数据。例如部署引导器320确定部署清单402指定“云控制器”作业使用从预定资源池和从预定网络组抽取的主干单元VM的八个实例。部署引导器320向主干单元VM324的八个实例提供用于云控制器作业的作业配置和数据。在步骤514中,主干单元VM324(例如主干单元VM3241)经由地址和发现层334接收作业配置和数据。作业配置和数据可以包括用于在云计算平台应用200内执行角色的一个或者多个封装的应用、库、运行时间、配置文件、元数据和其它支持数据。在一个实施例中,代理322可以利用由部署引导器320提供的并且与在对象存储库332中存储的一个或者多个数据对象对应的链接或者地址来取回作业配置和数据。在步骤516中,代理322应用接收的作业配置和数据以将主干单元VM3241变换成云计算平台应用200内的分布式节点。代理322安装接收的作业数据的一个或者多个应用包、利用接收的作业配置以执行安装的软件包的任何适当安装和配置、并且起动用于连接到云计算平台应用200的其它部署的作业并且在云计算平台应用200内执行一个或者多个专门化任务的进程。例如在一个实施例中,代理322可以安装、配置和起动用于执行路由器(例如路由器204)的一个或者多个应用包以向云计算平台应用200的运行web应用的其它部件转发传入请求。部署引导器320重复步骤512的操作直至已经按照部署清单402的指定将所有作业部署到一个或者多个主干单元VM324上。这样,在已经完成部署过程之后,多个主干单元VM已经如图6中描绘的那样变换成构成部署的云计算平台应用200的多个互连节点(例如云控制器202、应用执行代理206、健康管理器208、路由器204、服务调配器210等)。
图6描绘在已经完成部署云计算平台应用200之后的图4的部署系统306。在执行以上描述的部署过程之后,来自逻辑基础设施350的主干单元VM(例如VM3241至324M)被“变换成”云计算平台应用200的节点(例如路由器204、云控制器202、健康管理器208、应用执行代理206、服务调配器210、服务212、消息总线214)。在图6的实施例中,每个主干单元VM3241至324M具有在其上执行的代理322用于执行由云计算平台应用200执行的管理作业(例如路由器作业604、云控制器作业602、健康管理器作业608、应用执行代理作业606、服务调配器作业610、服务作业612、消息总线作业614)。

Claims (17)
1.一种用于部署应用的方法,所述应用具有在多个不同节点上执行的多个功能部件,所述方法包括:
由部署模块接收用于所述应用的规范,其中所述规范指定(i)待部署的所述应用的每个功能部件的实例数目;以及(ii)由执行所述功能部件中的任何一个功能部件的任何节点所将需要的硬件属性;
请求虚拟基础设施平台起动足以在单独虚拟机(VM)中执行功能部件的每个实例的多个VM,其中所述VM中的每个VM(i)被配置用于支持由所述功能部件中的至少一个功能部件所需要的硬件属性;并且(ii)包括被配置用于与所述部署模块通信的代理部件;
请求所述虚拟基础设施平台以根据由所述规范指定的辅助虚拟机的数目起动多个辅助虚拟机,其中所述多个辅助虚拟机中的所述辅助虚拟机中的每个辅助虚拟机对应于所述功能部件中的至少一个功能部件并且被配置为使得软件的编译由对应的功能部件执行;
引导所述辅助虚拟机中的至少一个辅助虚拟机以将独立于机器架构的代码编译成由所述VM中的每个VM可执行以作为所述应用的所述功能部件的所述实例之一而执行的代码;以及
引导所述VM中的每个VM中的所述代理部件中的每个代理部件在所述VM中安装由所述至少一个辅助虚拟机编译的所述代码,所述代码实施所述功能部件中的、与所述VM的所述硬件属性兼容的功能部件,由此使所述VM作为所述应用的所述功能部件的所述实例之一而执行。
2.根据权利要求1所述的方法,其中所述引导所述代理部件中的每个代理部件安装代码还包括:
引导所述VM中的每个VM中的所述代理部件中的每个代理部件安装计算机可执行指令包,所述计算机可执行指令包由所述规范针对每个功能部件而指定、并且被配置用于在由每个VM执行时执行所述功能部件的操作。
3.根据权利要求1所述的方法,其中用于待部署的所述应用的所述规范指定由执行所述功能部件中的任何一个功能部件的任何节点所将需要的网络属性;并且其中所述VM中的每个VM根据由所述功能部件中的至少一个功能部件所需要的所述网络属性而被配置。
4.根据权利要求1所述的方法,其中所述规范指定用于所述功能部件中的任何一个功能部件的多个配置设置;并且其中引导所述代理部件中的每个代理部件安装代码还包括:
取回用于所述功能部件之一的配置文件,其中所述配置文件指定具有变量的至少一个配置设置,所述变量引用所述规范中的所述多个配置设置之一;
修改所述配置文件以用由所述规范提供的所述引用的配置设置的值替换所述变量;以及
向对与修改的所述配置文件对应的所述功能部件的实例进行托管的所述VM中的每个VM中的所述代理部件中的每个代理部件提供修改的所述配置文件。
5.根据权利要求1所述的方法,其中所述请求所述虚拟基础设施平台以起动所述多个VM还包括:
请求使用指定盘映像的模板来调配所述VM中的每个VM,所述盘映像具有访客操作系统和在其上安装的所述代理部件。
6.根据权利要求1所述的方法,其中用于所述应用的所述多个功能部件被配置用于协调以提供用于托管一个或者多个web应用的云计算服务。
7.一种用于部署具有在多个不同节点上执行的多个功能部件的应用的设备,包括:
用于由部署模块接收用于所述应用的规范的装置,其中所述规范指定(i)待部署的所述应用的每个功能部件的实例数目;以及和(ii)执行所述功能部件中的任何一个功能部件的任何节点所将需要的硬件属性;
用于请求虚拟基础设施平台起动足以在单独虚拟机(VM)中执行功能部件的每个实例的多个VM的装置,其中所述VM中的每个VM(i)被配置用于支持所述功能部件中的至少一个功能部件所需要的硬件属性;并且(ii)包括被配置用于与所述部署模块通信的代理部件;
用于请求所述虚拟基础设施平台以根据由所述规范指定的辅助虚拟机的数目起动多个辅助虚拟机的装置,其中所述多个辅助虚拟机中的所述辅助虚拟机中的每个辅助虚拟机对应于所述功能部件中的至少一个功能部件并且被配置为使得软件的编译由对应的功能部件执行;
用于引导所述辅助虚拟机中的至少一个辅助虚拟机以将独立于机器架构的代码编译成由所述VM中的每个VM可执行以作为所述应用的所述功能部件的所述实例之一而执行的代码的装置;以及
用于引导所述VM中的每个VM中的所述代理部件中的每个代理部件在所述VM中安装由所述至少一个辅助虚拟机编译的所述代码的装置,所述代码实施所述功能部件中的、与所述VM的所述硬件属性兼容的功能部件,由此使所述VM作为所述应用的所述功能部件的所述实例之一而执行。
8.根据权利要求7所述的设备,其中所述用于引导所述代理部件中的每个代理部件安装代码的装置还包括:
用于引导所述VM中的每个VM中的所述代理部件中的每个代理部件安装计算机可执行指令包的装置,所述计算机可执行指令包由所述规范针对每个功能部件而指定、并且被配置用于在由每个VM执行时执行所述功能部件的操作。
9.根据权利要求7所述的设备,其中用于待部署的所述应用的所述规范指定由执行所述功能部件中的任何一个功能部件的任何节点所将需要的网络属性;并且其中所述VM中的每个VM根据所述功能部件中的至少一个功能部件所需要的所述网络属性而被配置。
10.根据权利要求7所述的设备,其中所述规范指定用于所述功能部件中的任何一个功能部件的多个配置设置;并且其中所述用于引导所述代理部件中的每个代理部件安装代码的装置还包括:
用于取回用于所述功能部件之一的配置文件的装置,其中所述配置文件指定具有变量的至少一个配置设置,所述变量引用所述规范中的所述多个配置设置之一;
用于修改所述配置文件以用由所述规范提供的所述引用的配置设置的值替换所述变量的装置;以及
用于向对与修改的所述配置文件对应的所述功能部件的实例进行托管的所述VM中的每个VM中的所述代理部件中的每个代理部件提供修改的所述配置文件的装置。
11.根据权利要求7所述的设备,其中所述用于请求所述虚拟基础设施平台起动所述多个VM的装置还包括:
用于请求使用指定盘映像的模板来调配所述VM中的每个VM的装置,所述盘映像具有访客操作系统和在其上安装的所述代理部件。
12.根据权利要求7所述的设备,其中用于所述应用的所述多个功能部件被配置用于协调提供用于托管一个或者多个web应用的云计算服务。
13.一种用于部署应用的计算机系统,所述应用具有在多个不同节点上执行的多个功能部件,所述计算机系统包括系统存储器和被编程用于执行以下步骤的处理器:
由部署模块接收用于所述应用的规范,其中所述规范指定(i)待部署的所述应用的每个功能部件的实例数目;以及(ii)由执行所述功能部件中的任何一个功能部件的任何节点所将需要的硬件属性;
请求虚拟基础设施平台起动足以在单独虚拟机(VM)中执行功能部件的每个实例的多个VM,其中所述VM中的每个VM(i)被配置用于支持所述功能部件中的至少一个功能部件所需要的硬件属性;并且(ii)包括被配置用于与所述部署模块通信的代理部件;
请求所述虚拟基础设施平台以根据由所述规范指定的辅助虚拟机的数目起动多个辅助虚拟机,其中所述多个辅助虚拟机中的所述辅助虚拟机中的每个辅助虚拟机对应于所述功能部件中的至少一个功能部件并且被配置为使得软件的编译由对应的功能部件执行;

引导所述VM中的每个VM中的所述代理部件中的每个代理部件在所述VM中安装由所述至少一个辅助虚拟机编译的所述代码,所述代码实施所述功能部件中的、与所述VM的所述硬件属性兼容的功能部件,由此使所述VM作为所述应用的所述功能部件的所述实例之一而执行。
14.根据权利要求13所述的计算机系统,其中所述处理器还被编程用于执行以下步骤:
引导所述VM中的每个VM中的所述代理部件中的每个代理部件安装计算机可执行指令包,所述计算机可执行指令包由所述规范针对每个功能部件而指定、并且被配置用于在由每个VM执行时执行所述功能部件的操作。
15.根据权利要求13所述的计算机系统,其中用于待部署的所述应用的所述规范指定执行所述功能部件中的任何一个功能部件的任何节点所将需要的网络属性;并且其中所述VM中的每个VM根据所述功能部件中的至少一个功能部件所需要的所述网络属性而被配置。

取回用于所述功能部件之一的配置文件,其中所述配置文件指定具有变量的至少一个配置设置,所述变量引用所述规范中的所述多个配置设置之一;
修改所述配置文件以用由所述规范提供的所述引用的配置设置的值替换所述变量;以及
向对与修改的所述配置文件对应的所述功能部件的实例进行托管的所述VM中的每个VM中的所述代理部件中的每个代理部件提供修改的所述配置文件。
17.根据权利要求13所述的计算机系统,其中用于所述应用的所述多个功能部件被配置用于协调提供用于托管一个或者多个web应用的云计算服务。
