Detailed Description
Exemplary embodiments of the present disclosure will be described in more detail below with reference to the accompanying drawings. While exemplary embodiments of the present disclosure are shown in the drawings, it should be understood that the present disclosure may be embodied in various forms and should not be limited to the embodiments set forth herein. Rather, these embodiments are provided so that this disclosure will be thorough and complete, and will fully convey the scope of the disclosure to those skilled in the art.
An embodiment of the present invention provides a status acquiring apparatus 100 of a search engine, referring to fig. 1, including a receiver 111, a communication unit 112, a determiner 113, and a presenting unit 114.
The receiver 111 is adapted to receive input from a user. For example, the receiver 111 may receive data or the like input by a user through a search bar of a search engine or an address bar of a browser.
The communication unit 112 is adapted to transmit status query information to the search engine server 200 of the search engine before the receiver 111 receives an instruction of the user to start the search engine and/or before receiving an instruction of the user to perform a data search using the search engine, and is further adapted to receive a status code returned by the search engine server 200 according to the status query information.
The communication unit 112 may periodically transmit the status query information to the search engine server 200 before the receiver 111 receives an instruction of a user to start the search engine, i.e., before the search engine is not started.
The communication unit 112 may periodically transmit status query information to the search engine server 200 during a period until the search engine has been started to perform a data search by the search engine. During the starting period of the search engine, after the search bar of the search engine is opened and before the receiver receives the data input by the user in the search bar of the search engine, the state query information is sent to the search engine server of the search engine at regular time.
For example, for setting the state acquisition apparatus 100 of the search engine in a browser scenario, the browser may set a timer, which triggers the communication unit 112 to transmit the state query information to the search engine server 200 every predetermined time in the background.
In addition to using the timer to send the status query information, the communication unit 112 may also send the status query information to the search engine server 200 in at least any one of the following scenarios:
1) when the receiver 111 receives at least a part of the search engine address keyword input by the user in the browser address bar, the communication unit 112 confirms that the user is about to start the search engine, and transmits status query information to the search engine server 200 of the search engine.
For example, if the address keyword of the search engine is abcde, the receiver 111 determines that the user wants to use the abcde search engine when receiving data such as abcde, abcd, or ab in the browser address bar, and the search engine is about to be started, and sends status query information to the search engine server of the search engine.
2) When the receiver receives data input by a user in a search bar of a search engine, confirms that the user is about to perform a data search using the search engine, and then sends status query information to a search engine server of the search engine.
For example, when the information that the user needs to search is "patent application", when the receiver 111 receives "patent" or "patent" from the search bar, it is determined that the user wants to perform a search using the search engine, and status query information is transmitted to the search engine server of the search engine.
Through the above operation, the communication unit 112 can ensure that the status code returned by the search engine server 200 according to the status query information is received before the user performs a data search, for example, before the receiver 111 receives an instruction to perform a search sent by the user by clicking a search key, so as to know the status of the search engine.
The determiner 113 is adapted to determine whether the current state of the search engine is available according to the state code. The decider 113 is specifically adapted to confirm that the current state of the search engine is unavailable when the status code indicates at least one of:
network CONNECTION RESET, network CONNECTION rejected, network CONNECTION dropped, network CONNECTION FAILED, domain NAME resolution FAILED, ADDRESS INVALID, CONNECTION timeout, or SOCKET NOT CONNECTED.
The presentation unit 114 is adapted to generate and present to the user information that prompts the search engine status as unavailable. Specifically, referring to fig. 2, the presentation unit 114 may generate information prompting that the search engine status is unavailable in an address bar of the browser, such as "XX unavailable current" as an example of the information, and XX represents a search engine name.
Referring to fig. 3, the presentation unit 114 may generate information in a status bar of the browser, which prompts that the search engine status is unavailable, such as "XX is currently unavailable" and XX represents a search engine name.
Referring to fig. 4, the presentation unit 114 may present information prompting that the search engine state is unavailable, such as "XX is currently unavailable" in a search bar of the search engine.
The presentation unit 114 is further adapted to clear already existing information prompting the search engine status as unavailable. Corresponding to the location where the information is presented, the presentation unit 114 may delete already existing information in the address bar, status bar, and/or search bar of the browser that prompts the search engine to be unavailable.
Further, in this embodiment, the receiver 111 is further adapted to prohibit the search bar of the search engine from receiving data input by setting a property element of an input control of the search bar of the search engine while the presenting unit 114 generates and presents information to the user, which indicates that the state of the search engine is unavailable. For example, by setting the attribute element type (type) of the input control of the search bar to hidden (hidden), the search bar of the search engine is prohibited from receiving input of data. And the receiver 111 is further adapted to allow the search bar of the search engine to receive an input of data by setting a property element of an input control of the search bar of the search engine, such as setting a property element type of an input control of the search bar to available, while the presentation unit 114 clears the generated information prompting that the search engine status is not available. By the arrangement of the receiver, the operation of searching data by using the search engine is further controlled, the search request is only allowed to be initiated under the condition of good network state, the probability of search failure is reduced, and the network state deterioration caused by receiving a large number of search requests when the network state is poor is avoided, so that the network performance is improved.
In still another structure of the search engine status acquisition apparatus 100 provided in this embodiment, the presentation unit is replaced by a switching unit, that is, the search engine status acquisition apparatus 100 is composed of a receiver, a communication unit, a determiner, and a switching unit. The switching unit, when the search bar of the search engine displayed in the browser is the search bar of the first search engine and the judger 113 confirms that the current state of the first search engine is unavailable, selects one search engine from the search engines of which the current state is available, and switches the search bar of the first search engine in the browser to the search bar of the selected search engine; and the switching unit is further adapted to switch the search bar of the search engine in the browser back to the search bar of the first search engine when the determiner 113 confirms that the current state of the first search engine is available according to the state code after switching the search bar of the first search engine in the browser to the search bar of the selected search engine. The first search engine may be a default search engine in the browser, or may be a search engine selected by the user in the browser. The switching mechanism can inform the user in time when the first search engine is available, and when the first search engine is unavailable, the available search engine can be provided for the user as long as the available search engine exists in the network, so that the data searching operation is facilitated.
Still another embodiment of the present invention provides a browser including a state acquisition apparatus 100 of a search engine. Referring to fig. 5, a schematic view of the browser workflow is shown.
S500: the browser sends state query information to a search engine server through a state acquisition device of a search engine arranged on the browser;
s502: the browser receives the status code returned by the search engine server.
The specific contents of steps S500 and S502 can be referred to the communication unit 112 described above.
S504: the browser knows the current state of the search engine, e.g., available or unavailable.
In step S504, the browser may call the determiner 113 in the state acquisition device of the search engine to determine the current state of the search engine.
S506: the browser updates the information prompting the state of the engine, for example, when the current state of the search engine is unavailable, the browser may invoke the presentation unit 114 in the state acquisition device of the search engine to generate and present information indicating that the current state of the search engine is unavailable to the user, and when the current state of the search engine is available, the browser may invoke the presentation unit 114 in the state acquisition device of the search engine to delete the existing information indicating that the state of the search engine is unavailable.
The specific way of operating the search engine status acquisition device 100 by the browser and the specific way of operating the search engine status acquisition device 100 in the browser can be found in the above embodiments of the search engine status acquisition device.
Still another embodiment of the present invention further provides a method for obtaining a state of a search engine, referring to fig. 6, including:
s601: the status query information is sent to a search engine server of the search engine.
The status query information is sent to a search engine server of a search engine prior to receiving an instruction of a user to start the search engine and/or prior to receiving an instruction of the user to perform a data search with the search engine.
S602: and receiving the state code returned by the search engine server according to the state query information.
S603: judging whether the current state of the search engine is available according to the state code, if so, executing step S604, and if not, executing step S605;
s604: and when the current state of the search engine is available according to the state code, if the information prompting that the state of the search engine is unavailable exists, clearing the information.
S605: and when the current state of the search engine is unavailable according to the state code, generating information for prompting that the state of the search engine is unavailable and displaying the information to a user.
Wherein, step S601 may include at least the following processes: when receiving at least partial address keywords of a search engine input by a user in an address bar of a browser, confirming that the user is about to start the search engine, and sending state query information to a search engine server of the search engine; and/or when receiving data input by a user in a search bar of a search engine, confirming that the user is going to perform data search by using the search engine, and sending state query information to a search engine server of the search engine; and/or sending the state query information to a search engine server of the search engine at regular time after the search bar of the search engine is opened and before the data input by the user in the search bar of the search engine is received.
Wherein, the obtaining that the current state of the search engine is unavailable according to the state code comprises:
knowing that the current state of the search engine is unavailable when the status code indicates at least one of: network connection reset, network connection denied, network connection dropped, network connection failed, domain name resolution failed, address invalid, connection timeout, or socket not connected.
In step S605, generating and displaying information that prompts that the search engine is unavailable to the user includes: and displaying information prompting that the state of the search engine is unavailable in an address bar, a state bar and/or a search bar of the search engine of the browser.
In step S605, while the information prompting that the search engine is unavailable in state is generated and displayed to the user, the search bar of the search engine is prohibited from receiving data input by setting the attribute element of the input control of the search bar of the search engine; in step S604, when the current state of the search engine is known to be available according to the state code, if there is information prompting that the state of the search engine is unavailable, the information is cleared, and at the same time, the search bar of the search engine is allowed to receive data input by setting the attribute element of the input control of the search bar of the search engine.
Wherein, the embodiment further provides a switching mechanism of a search engine, and in place of the above steps S604 and S605, the embodiment may perform the following operations: when the search bar of the search engine displayed in the browser is the search bar of the first search engine and the current state of the first search engine is unavailable, selecting one search engine from the search engines with the current state being available, and switching the search bar of the first search engine in the browser to the search bar of the selected search engine; and after the search bar of the first search engine in the browser is switched to the search bar of the selected search engine, switching the search bar of the search engine in the browser back to the search bar of the first search engine when the current state of the first search engine is available according to the state code.
The specific implementation manner of each step in the embodiment of the present invention may be referred to the above embodiment of the apparatus of the present invention.
As described above, in the embodiments of the present invention, before a user performs a data search using a search engine, the state of the search engine is queried in a search engine server, and a technical means for generating information indicating whether the search engine is available or not is generated from the queried state of the search engine, so that the user can know the state of the search engine before performing the data search through the information, and the user operation is guided, thereby saving the search time of the user. And the information indicating the availability of the search engine can be used for initiating the search request under the condition of better network state, so that the probability of the occurrence of search failure is reduced, and the information indicating the unavailability of the search engine is used for avoiding the network state deterioration caused by receiving a large number of search requests when the network state is worse, thereby improving the network performance.
The apparatus 700 for obtaining the state of a search engine for a navigation page according to another embodiment of the present invention, referring to fig. 7, includes a receiver 702, a communication unit 704, a determiner 706, and a presenting unit 708.
The receiver 702 is adapted to receive input from a user, for example, the receiver may receive data entered by the user through a search bar of a search engine on a navigation page or an address bar of the navigation page, or the like.
The communication unit 704 may perform at least the following operations:
1) the communication unit 704 is adapted to (periodically) send status query information to the search engine server 800 before the receiver 702 receives the user's instruction to launch the navigation page 900. Specifically, in this scenario, when the receiver 702 receives an address keyword of at least a part of the navigation page 900 input by the user in the browser address bar, the communication unit may confirm that the user is about to start the navigation page, and then send status query information to the search engine server 800.
2) The navigation page 900 is generally provided with a plurality of search engine icons, and a user sends a selection instruction to indicate a search engine to be used by clicking on the icons, and when the receiver 702 receives a selection instruction of a search engine in the navigation page 900 from the user after the navigation page has been started, the communication unit 704 sends status query information to the search engine server 800.
3) Before the receiver 702 receives an instruction of a user to perform a data search using a search bar of a search engine in the navigation page 900, the communication unit 704 transmits status query information to the search engine server. This scenario is related to the operation of the communication unit 704 after the navigation page has been started, for example, in this scenario, when the receiver 702 receives data input by the user in the search bar of the search engine of the navigation page 900, the communication unit 704 confirms that the user is about to perform a data search using the search bar of the search engine in the navigation page 900, and then sends status query information to the search engine server 800 of the search engine; and/or, after the navigation page 900 is opened and before the receiver 702 receives data input by the user in the search bar of the search engine, the communication unit 704 sends status query information to the search engine server. And/or, the communication unit 704 sends the status query information to the search engine server at regular time before the receiver 702 receives a user selection instruction for a search engine in the navigation page.
4) The communication unit 704 is further adapted to receive a status code returned by the search engine server 800 based on the status query information.
The decider 706 is adapted to decide whether the current state of the search engine is available or not according to the state code
The presenting unit 708 is adapted to generate and present information prompting that the state of the search engine is unavailable to the user when the current state of the search engine is known to be unavailable according to the state code, and clear the information if the information prompting that the state of the search engine is unavailable exists when the current state of the search engine is known to be available according to the state code
The receiver 702 is further adapted to inhibit the search bar of the search engine from receiving the input of the data by setting a property element of an input control of the search bar of the search engine in the navigation page while generating the information prompting the search engine to be unavailable, for example, the receiver 702 automatically sets a property type of an input control of the search bar in the navigation page to hidden, or the receiver 702 sets a disabled property of an input control of a search box of a corresponding search engine in a source code of a navigation page at a server side of the navigation page to unavailable, inhibiting the input of the data to the navigation page.
The receiver 702 is further adapted to allow the search bar of the search engine to receive input of data by setting the attribute elements of the input control of the search bar of the search engine in the navigation page while clearing information prompting the search engine that the state is unavailable in the navigation page if the information is present in the navigation page when the current state of the search engine is known to be available from the state code. For example, the receiver 702 sets the attribute type of the input control of the search bar in the navigation page 900 to be available, or the receiver 702 sets the disabled attribute of the input control of the search box of the corresponding search engine in the source code of the navigation page 900 on the server side of the navigation page 900 to be available, allowing data to be input to the navigation page 900, such as deleting the disabled value by JavaScript instruction, and switching the value of the input control to be available.
Preferably, in yet another structure of the apparatus 700 for acquiring a state of a search engine for a navigation page of the present embodiment, the presenting unit is replaced by a switching unit, that is, the apparatus 700 for acquiring a state of a search engine for a navigation page includes a receiver, a communication unit, a determiner, and a switching unit. When the search bar of the search engine displayed in the navigation page is the search bar of the first search engine and the judger confirms that the current state of the first search engine is unavailable, the switching unit selects one search engine from the search engines with the current state being available and switches the search bar of the first search engine in the navigation page into the search bar of the selected search engine; and the switching unit is also suitable for switching the search bar of the first search engine in the navigation page back to the search bar of the first search engine when the judger confirms that the current state of the first search engine is available according to the state code after switching the search bar of the first search engine in the navigation page to the search bar of the selected search engine. The first search engine may be a default search engine in the navigation page, or may be a search engine selected by the user in the navigation page. The switching mechanism can inform the user in time when the first search engine is available, and when the first search engine is unavailable, the available search engine can be provided for the user as long as the available search engine exists in the network, so that the data searching operation is facilitated.
The invention further provides a server comprising the state acquisition device of the search engine for the navigation page, and the server can be a background server. Referring to fig. 8, a schematic diagram of the background server workflow is shown.
S800: the background server sends state query information to the search engine server through a state acquisition device of a search engine aiming at the navigation page, which is arranged on the background server;
s802: and the background server receives the state code returned by the search engine server.
The specific content of the background server execution in steps S800 and S802 can be referred to the communication unit 704 described above.
S804: the backend server knows the current state of the search engine, e.g., available or unavailable.
In step S804, the backend server may call the determiner 706 in the state acquisition device of the search engine for the navigation page to determine the current state of the search engine.
S806: the background server updates the information prompting the engine state in the navigation page, for example, when the current state of the search engine is available, the background server may invoke a presentation unit in the state acquisition device of the search engine for the navigation page to generate information indicating that the state of the search engine is unavailable, and when the current state of the search engine is available, the background server may invoke the presentation unit in the state acquisition device of the search engine for the navigation page to delete the existing information indicating that the state of the search engine is unavailable.
The invention further provides a method for acquiring the state of the search engine aiming at the navigation page, which comprises the following steps:
s900: before receiving an instruction of a user for starting a navigation page, and/or when receiving a selection instruction of the user for a search engine in the navigation page, and/or before receiving an instruction of the user for performing data search by using a search bar of the search engine in the navigation page, sending state query information to a search engine server;
s902: receiving a state code returned by the search engine server according to the state query information;
s904: when the current state of the search engine is unavailable according to the state code, generating information for prompting that the state of the search engine is unavailable;
s906: and when the current state of the search engine is available according to the state code, if the information prompting that the state of the search engine is unavailable exists in the navigation page, clearing the information.
Step S900 may include the following specific operations: when receiving at least partial address keywords of a navigation page input by a user in an address bar of a browser, confirming that the user is about to start the navigation page, and sending state query information to a search engine server; and/or when receiving data input by a user in a search bar of a search engine of a navigation page, confirming that the user is about to perform data search by using the search bar of the search engine in the navigation page, and sending state query information to a search engine server of the search engine; and/or sending the state query information to the search engine server at regular time after the navigation page is opened and before data input by the user in a search bar of the search engine is received or before a selection instruction of the user on the search engine in the navigation page is received.
When the information prompting that the state of the search engine is unavailable is generated in the step S904, the search bar of the search engine is prohibited from receiving data input by setting the attribute element of the input control of the search bar of the search engine in the navigation page;
in step S906, when the current state of the search engine is available according to the state code, if there is information prompting that the state of the search engine is unavailable in the navigation page, the information is cleared, and meanwhile, the search bar of the search engine is allowed to receive data input by setting the attribute element of the input control of the search bar of the search engine in the navigation page.
In this embodiment of the present invention, a switching operation of a search engine is further provided, and instead of the above steps S904 and S906, the following operations may also be performed in this embodiment: when the search bar of the search engine displayed in the navigation page is the search bar of the first search engine and the current state of the first search engine is unavailable, selecting one search engine from the search engines with the current state being available, and switching the search bar of the first search engine in the navigation page into the search bar of the selected search engine; and after the search bar of the first search engine in the navigation page is switched to the search bar of the selected search engine, switching the search bar of the search engine in the navigation page back to the search bar of the first search engine when the current state of the first search engine is available according to the state code.
As described above, in the embodiments of the present invention, before a user performs a data search using a search engine in a navigation page, the state of the search engine is queried in a search engine server, and a technical means for generating information indicating whether the search engine is available or not is generated from the queried state of the search engine, so that the user can know the state of the search engine before performing the data search using the navigation page through the information, and the operation of the user is guided, thereby saving the search time of the user. And moreover, the information indicating the availability of the search engine in the navigation page can be used for initiating the search request under the condition of a better network state, so that the probability of search failure is reduced, and the information indicating the unavailability of the search engine in the navigation page is used for avoiding the network state deterioration caused by receiving a large number of search requests when the network state is poorer, thereby improving the network performance.
The algorithms and displays presented herein are not inherently related to any particular computer, virtual machine, or other apparatus. Various general purpose systems may also be used with the teachings herein. The required structure for constructing such a system will be apparent from the description above. Moreover, the present invention is not directed to any particular programming language. It is appreciated that a variety of programming languages may be used to implement the teachings of the present invention as described herein, and any descriptions of specific languages are provided above to disclose the best mode of the invention.
In the description provided herein, numerous specific details are set forth. It is understood, however, that embodiments of the invention may be practiced without these specific details. In some instances, well-known methods, structures and techniques have not been shown in detail in order not to obscure an understanding of this description.
Similarly, it should be appreciated that in the foregoing description of exemplary embodiments of the invention, various features of the invention are sometimes grouped together in a single embodiment, figure, or description thereof for the purpose of streamlining the disclosure and aiding in the understanding of one or more of the various inventive aspects. However, the disclosed method should not be interpreted as reflecting an intention that: that the invention as claimed requires more features than are expressly recited in each claim. Rather, as the following claims reflect, inventive aspects lie in less than all features of a single foregoing disclosed embodiment. Thus, the claims following the detailed description are hereby expressly incorporated into this detailed description, with each claim standing on its own as a separate embodiment of this invention.
Those skilled in the art will appreciate that the modules in the device in an embodiment may be adaptively changed and disposed in one or more devices different from the embodiment. The modules or units or components of the embodiments may be combined into one module or unit or component, and furthermore they may be divided into a plurality of sub-modules or sub-units or sub-components. All of the features disclosed in this specification (including any accompanying claims, abstract and drawings), and all of the processes or elements of any method or apparatus so disclosed, may be combined in any combination, except combinations where at least some of such features and/or processes or elements are mutually exclusive. Each feature disclosed in this specification (including any accompanying claims, abstract and drawings) may be replaced by alternative features serving the same, equivalent or similar purpose, unless expressly stated otherwise.
Furthermore, those skilled in the art will appreciate that while some embodiments described herein include some features included in other embodiments, rather than other features, combinations of features of different embodiments are meant to be within the scope of the invention and form different embodiments. For example, in the following claims, any of the claimed embodiments may be used in any combination.
The various component embodiments of the invention may be implemented in hardware, or in software modules running on one or more processors, or in a combination thereof. It will be appreciated by those skilled in the art that a microprocessor or Digital Signal Processor (DSP) may be used in practice to implement some or all of the functions of some or all of the components of the state acquisition means of the search engine and the browser including the state acquisition means of the search engine according to embodiments of the present invention. The present invention may also be embodied as apparatus or device programs (e.g., computer programs and computer program products) for performing a portion or all of the methods described herein. Such programs implementing the present invention may be stored on computer-readable media or may be in the form of one or more signals. Such a signal may be downloaded from an internet website or provided on a carrier signal or in any other form.
It should be noted that the above-mentioned embodiments illustrate rather than limit the invention, and that those skilled in the art will be able to design alternative embodiments without departing from the scope of the appended claims. In the claims, any reference signs placed between parentheses shall not be construed as limiting the claim. The word "comprising" does not exclude the presence of elements or steps not listed in a claim. The word "a" or "an" preceding an element does not exclude the presence of a plurality of such elements. The invention may be implemented by means of hardware comprising several distinct elements, and by means of a suitably programmed computer. In the unit claims enumerating several means, several of these means may be embodied by one and the same item of hardware. The usage of the words first, second and third, etcetera do not indicate any ordering. These words may be interpreted as names.
