一种通信技术领域中获取上下文的处理方法，移动性管理网元获取备选无线接入网网元信息；移动性管理网元向所述备选无线接入网网元发送消息，所述消息包括所述用户设备的上下文信息。本发明实施例还提供一种移动性管理网元及无线接入网网元。本实施例实现了移动性管理网元将用户设备的上下文发送给一个或多个备选无线接入网网元，使得在X2接口不可用或不使用X2接口情况下，保证备选无线接入网网元获知所述用户设备的上下文，从而保证了切换完成后用户设备的会话业务不中断。
