Abstract

A processing method for acquiring context in communication technology field is provided. A mobility management element (MME) acquires information about spare wireless access network elements. The MME sends messages to said spare wireless access network elements, and said messages include said context of user equipment. An embodiment in the present invention also provides an MME and a wireless access network element. The embodiment enables an MME to send context of user equipment to one or more spare wireless access network elements, to ensure that the spare wireless access network elements acquire said context of user equipment in the case of X2 interfaces being invalid or being not used, thus ensuring session service of user equipment is not interrupted after handover is finished.
