Abstract

一种用来给各种尺寸电池充电的电池充电器。待充电的电池被插入电池充电器盒上的槽内并且被伸进槽内的凸缘部卡住。凸缘部有多个表面,这些表面之一与一种尺寸的电池表面接触并保持电池的位置抵住电池充电器的充电触点。不同尺寸电池接触不同的凸缘表面。

Description

本发明涉及一种电池充电器盒,更具体地说涉及一种电池充电器盒,在该盒前壁有一凸缘使得电池充电器能够适应不同大小的电池并引导不同大小的电池抵在电池充电器的充电触点上。
本发明在外观上与1989年8月9日以Albert    L.Nagale等人名义申请并转让给本发明的同一受让人的390,999号美国专利中所介绍的设计有关。
便携式电子设备惯于采用可充电电池,并已经研制出了许多各式各样的电池充电器用来给电池充电。在许多情况下,构成电池的电化学元件被装入或封入一个作为电化学元件的保护和支撑的封壳内。例如,装有几个电化学元件的可拆卸电池盒被用于莫托罗拉公司制造的便携式蜂窝状无线电话机中。而且具有与美国专利269,873所示相类似的外观(该专利已转让给此发明的同一受让人),电池盒的总体外观可以根据前述设计专利看成是在便携式无线电话机背面从顶部延伸到底部的部分,并可参见图2、3和4。
一般地,电池充电器用一个或多个充电匣或槽来固定电池。典型情况下,这些充电器采用垂直方式将待充电的电池插入,以求靠重力将电池抵在充电器充电匣内的电触点上。在那些电池与垂直方向成一角度插入或水平插入的情况下,只能适应单一尺寸的电池,或者采用更为复杂的装置。
因此,本发明解决适用于不同电池尺寸而无需过分复杂的问题。
本发明的一个目的是在电池充电器内设置一个电池盒。
本发明的另一个目的是采用倾斜的充电槽和槽壁上的阶梯形凸缘使各种尺寸的电池正确地放置在电池充电器内。

图2A为本发明的充电器盒从前到后的部视图;
图2B为本发明的盒子在一垂直于充电器槽表面内斜面的平面处所取的从一侧至另侧的剖面;
图3A为本发明的电池充电器盒的剖面,表示处于充电位置的大电池的位置;
图3B为本发明的电池充电器盒的剖面,表示处于充电位置的中等大小电池的位置;及
图3C为此项发明的电池充电器盒的剖面,表示处于充电位置的小电池的位置。
本发明的优选实施例为一种电池充电器,带有一能够方便地引导并承载几种尺寸的可充电电池盒以至每种规格的电池都可适当地放置,抵在电池充电器的充电触点上。这种电池充电器及盒子如图1 的等比例透视图所示。其中,电池充电器(101)有一槽(103),可充电电池可以放入其中。尽管仅表示了用于一只电池的单一的槽,本发明也可用于有两个或更多这种槽的电池盒上。而且,诸如优选实施例那样的电池充电器也可以用来给装在电子设备上为其供电的电池充电。一种具有类似外观的电池充电器已在1989年8月9日授予Nagele等人的并已转让给本发明同一受让人的390,999号美国专利“用于电池充电器或类似装置的盒子”中作了介绍。
图1的电池充电器的使用操作是通过将电池拿起在槽(103)的上表面且多少靠近电池充电器盒(101)后端并使电池下滑到槽(103)内且滑向电池充电器盒(101)的前端而将电池放入槽(103)内来完成的,从而电池可落在槽(103)的底面(105)上并电池的一端被槽(103)的前缘上的凸缘卡住。
本发明的电池充电器盒的剖面如图2A所示。这个剖面是从左边所示的电池充电器前端到右边所示的电池充电器盒的后端剖成的。电触点(201)从槽(103)的底面(105)中伸出,并作为从电路板(203)上的充电电路到被插入槽(103)中的可充电电池(未予图示)的电气连接。槽(103)的端部由一壁(205)构成,在优选实施例中该壁设置得垂直于槽底面(105)并用来为已插入槽内的电池定位。
本发明的一个重要特征是壁(205)还有一向槽(103)空间突起的凸缘(107)。在优选实施例中,该凸缘在其剖面上呈台阶形,带有基本上为平的并平行于槽底面(105)的上表面(207)和下表面(209)。上表面(207)和下表面(209)还可从图2B中看出,并且在优选实施例中占据槽(103)宽度的一部分。
不同尺寸的电池可以被卡在上表面(207)或下表面(209)下面,如图3A、3B和3C所示。在图3C中,具有较窄外形的电池(301)被放入槽103内并被下表面(209)卡住。电池(301)有一突起(303)位于充电触点(305)所处的端部。突起(303)被卡在下表面(209)之下以至电触点(305)可保持与电触点(201)的接触,具有比较大的厚度的较大的电池(307)带有一可被上表面(207)卡住的突起(309)。这样卡住电池(307)就可使充电触点(311)能够保持与触点(201)的接触。第三种更大的电池(315)也可以靠电池(315)下表面上的突起(317)而细卡在上表面(207)之下。这样卡住也可使充电触点(319)能够保持与触点(201)的电气接触。
在优选实施例,槽底面(105)相对于一平行电池充电器底座(211)平面的平面成θ角倾斜。这样倾斜可使电池能够靠重力来定位,并且在优选实施例中角θ等于20°。
因而,已展示并说明了一种可适应不同尺寸电池并引导不同尺寸电池中任何一种的电触点抵在电池充电器充电触点上的电池充电器。

Claims (3)

1、一种用于给不同尺寸电池充电的电池充电器盒,该盒有顶、底、前和后外表面,其特征在于:
有一设在顶外表面的且至少有一壁和一底面(105)的槽(103),所述底面从顶外表面向底外表面和前外表面倾斜;
所述槽的一壁(205),从所述槽(103)的所述底面(105)伸展到顶外表面,所述壁(205)的一侧构成至少前外表面的一部分;
一电触点(201)从槽(103)的底面(105)中伸出;
一凸缘部(107),设在所述壁的第二侧并靠近顶外表面,有一在所述凸缘部(107)一侧上的处于顶外表面和所述槽(103)的所述底面(105)之间的第一表面、处于所述凸缘部(107)第二侧上并在所述第一表面和所述槽(103)的所述底面(105)之间的第二表面(207)、以及处于所述凸缘部(107)的所述第二侧上并在所述第二表面(207)和所述槽(103)的所述底面(105)之间的第三表面(209);
由此,第一种尺寸的电池可以与电触点(201)接触着卡在所述凸缘部(107)的所述第二表面(207)和所述槽(103)的所述底面(105)之间,而第二种尺寸的电池可与电触点(201)接触并卡在所述凸缘部(107)的所述第三表面(209)和所述槽(103)的所述底面(105)之间。
2、权利要求1所述的电池充电器盒,其特征在于:所述凸缘部的所述第二表面(207)和第三表面(209)是平行平面。
3、权利要求2所述的电池充电器盒,其特征在于:所述槽(103)的所述底面(105)是一平面,它平行于所述第二表面(207)和第三表面(209)的平面。
