过滤介质可具有多种性质,包括在0.5”H2O压降3-10立方/英尺/分钟的透气率。在未使用平片(未折褶)形式,用0.3微米攻击气溶胶以10.5英尺/分钟流速,并且也根据ASTM D6830可除尘性能试验后两种情况试验时,初始过滤效率可大于99%。这相当于在用相同0.3微米攻击气溶胶以10.5英尺/分钟流速试验时,在褶状物折弯之间的平区段至少99%的过滤效率。
制造PTFE介质基体70的方法可以为射流喷网法(spinlacing process)。最初可梳理PTFE短纤维。下一步,可通过使用高压喷水使短纤维固结成过滤毡。过滤毡又可包含许多材料,包括PTFE毡。在此点,PTFE短纤维和过滤毡共同包含PTFE介质基体。PTFE介质基体可以但不必需用硬化可折褶树脂处理。而是PTFE纤维可固结至粗孔织品上或固结至粗孔织品,该粗孔织品可使介质可折褶,以形成水力缠结介质。然后,水力缠结介质可用含氟聚合物树脂后处理,以允许热层压ePTFE膜层76。应理解,介质不必需用含氟聚合物树脂处理,然而,树脂允许较容易地热层压。
硬化树脂可包含基于聚酰亚胺(PI)的树脂。聚酰亚胺是衍生自双官能羧酸酐和伯二胺的缩合聚合物的一般种类。它们沿着聚合物主链包含“酰亚胺”键--CO--NR--CO--作为线形或杂环单元。杂环结构通常作为与苯(邻苯二甲酰亚胺)或萘(萘二甲酰亚胺)缩合的五元环或六元环存在。
聚酰亚胺包括但不限于聚酰胺酰亚胺(PAI)、聚醚酰亚胺(PEI)和聚双马来酰亚胺(PBMI)的一般种类。PAI为在聚合物主链中包含“酰亚胺”键和“酰胺”(--CO--NH--)键的高性能聚合物。PAI树脂通过芳族三氯化物与芳族二胺的溶液缩合制备。PEI为由双酚和二硝基双酰亚胺反应制备的缩合聚合物。PEI聚合物在聚合物主链中包含“酰亚胺”和“醚”(--O--)键。醚键可提高处理容易程度和柔韧性。一般在乙酸酐和催化量的乙酸镍和三乙胺存在下,由马来酸酐和二胺的二步反应制备PBMI。聚酰亚胺包括热固性和热塑性聚合物,可设计这些聚合物,以适合具体最终用途性能需要。
硬化树脂可与任何能够经受特殊过滤应用条件的基体组合使用。对于高温应用,这可包括聚合物基体,如聚亚芳基硫醚、聚酰亚胺、芳族聚酰胺、聚酰胺、玻璃及其混合物或掺混物。另外,聚苯硫醚(PPS)、亚类聚亚芳基硫醚的掺混物可与大于10%的芳族聚酰胺、聚酰亚胺、丙烯酸类、预氧化的丙烯酸类或类似聚合物及其混合物一起使用。在这些实例中,经处理的过滤介质可通过任何适合方法折褶,包括刀片、推杆褶裥机等。由于聚酰亚胺的高玻璃化转变温度,在折褶过程期间的温度可根据使用的具体聚酰亚胺升高到430℉。在随后冷却后,硬化树脂可帮助过滤介质保持折褶结构。在备用方案中,作为用于保持的唯一方法,过滤介质可通过射流喷网法包括粗孔织品。粗孔织品可减少硬化树脂应用的需要,并且可允许过滤介质通过任何适合方法折褶,包括刀片、推杆褶裥机等。

Claims (8)
1.一种过滤介质(40),所述过滤介质(40)包括:
粗孔织品(72);
在粗孔织品(72)上的聚四氟乙烯(PTFE)介质基体(70);和
粘着到粗孔织品(72)上PTFE介质基体(70)的膨体聚四氟乙烯(ePTFE)膜层(76);
过滤介质(40)可折褶,并且具有在0.5英寸H2O压降约3-10立方/英尺/分钟的透气率,和在未使用、未折褶条件下,用0.3微米攻击气溶胶以10.5英尺/分钟流速试验时,和在根据ASTM D6830可除尘性能试验后试验时,大于99.0%的初始过滤效率。
2.权利要求1的过滤介质(40),所述过滤介质(40)还包含硬化剂,该硬化剂包括适用于处理聚四氟乙烯(PTFE)介质基体(70)的聚酰亚胺。
3.权利要求2的过滤介质(40),其中所述硬化剂包括聚酰胺酰亚胺(PAI)。
4.权利要求3的过滤介质(40),所述过滤介质(40)还包含适用于处理聚四氟乙烯(PTFE)介质基体(70)的含氟聚合物(FP)树脂。
5.权利要求4的过滤介质(40),其中所述聚四氟乙烯(PTFE)介质基体(70)热层压到膨体聚四氟乙烯(ePTFE)膜层(76)。
6.权利要求1的过滤介质(40),其中所述粗孔织品(72)为金属。
7.权利要求6的过滤介质(40),所述过滤介质(40)还包含适用于处理聚四氟乙烯(PTFE)介质基体(70)的含氟聚合物(FP)树脂。
8.权利要求7的过滤介质(40),其中所述聚四氟乙烯(PTFE)介质基体(70)热层压到膨体聚四氟乙烯(ePTFE)膜层(76)。
