技术领域
本揭示案大体上涉及滤清领域,且更明确地说,涉及供滤清系统(例如燃油滤清系统)中使用的滤清器滤筒。
背景技术
滤清器滤筒在许多不同技术中用于对流体进行滤清。滤清器滤筒的一个实例是燃油滤清系统中所使用的燃油滤清器滤筒。
滤清器滤筒可构造有单个滤清媒介,或具有多个滤清媒介,例如使用安置在外滤清媒介内部的内滤清媒介的滤清器套滤清器(filter-in-filter)设计。滤清器套滤清器设计可在较宽的燃油界面值范围内提供较高的微粒滤清效率和较高的燃油/水分离度。
发明内容
滤清器滤筒用于滤清流体,例如燃油、润滑剂、水和其它液体,以及空气。滤清器滤筒的许多不同用途是可能的。举例来说,在一个实施例中,滤清器滤筒可用于“没有滤清器则不运转”的滤清系统中,所述滤清系统检验滤清器滤筒存在以预防对燃油喷射器、相关联的燃油组件等的损害以及引擎失灵。在此滤清系统中,如果未安装有滤清器滤筒,那么完全阻止燃油流到引擎,或准许不足以允许引擎操作的量的燃油流到引擎,且需要使用经适当设计的滤清器滤筒,以便准许足够的燃油流动用于引擎操作。

2007年7月19日申请且标题为“具有限流阀的立管和滤清器滤筒(Standpipe With Flow Restriction Valve,and Filter Cartridge)”的第11/780,176号美国专利申请案中的揭示内容以全文引用的方式并入本文中。

参看图1到图3,将滤清器滤筒14说明为具有内滤清器60和外滤清器62的滤清器套滤清器类型。内滤清器60经设计以在滤筒14的组装期间与外滤清器62搭扣配合连接,以形成一体式单元。
内滤清器60包含:滤清媒介环64;上端板66,其紧固到媒介64的上端;以及下端板68,其紧固到媒介64的底端。同样,外滤清器62包含:滤清媒介环70;上端板72,其紧固到媒介70的上端;以及下端板74,其紧固到媒介70的底端。端板66、68、72、74由合适的材料(例如塑料)形成。
燃油中可能包含不同形式的水,包含自由水(例如小水滴)和乳化水。优选的是,滤清媒介70经设计以使得当燃油从外部进入滤清器时,自由水最初被去除。自由水无法渗透媒介70,且实质上保留在滤清器外部。
媒介70还聚结大多数乳化水,并使现已聚结的水与燃油分离。媒介70还将软性和固体污染物从燃油去除。水(比燃油重)沉到滤清器滤筒14的底部,且通过开口排到外壳12的基座处的水收集区域。到燃油与媒介64接触时,大部分水已被分离,且在燃油进入滤清器滤筒的中心之前,媒介64将微粒从燃油滤除。媒介64还将剩余的水从燃油去除,且防止水进入媒介64。经滤清的燃油接着进入立管30,且流到出口26,通向下游的受保护组件,例如燃油泵。
滤清媒介64的外侧大体上面向滤清器62的滤清媒介70的内部,其中媒介环64的内侧界定滤清器滤筒14的干净或经滤清燃油侧,且媒介70的外侧界定脏污或未经滤清燃油侧,借此滤清器滤筒经配置以用于从外侧进来的流。在适当的情况下,本文所描述的概念可应用于从内侧出去类型的流的滤清器滤筒。
如图3和图4中所说明,上端板72包含第一大体上圆形的水平板80。凸缘82从板80向下延伸,且大体水平的环84在凸缘82的端部中间连接到凸缘82,且从所述凸缘向外延伸。环84的底表面(例如)使用粘合剂或使用热量以将环84熔合到滤清媒介来合适地附接到滤清媒介70的上端。
板80和凸缘82界定如图3中所示接纳内滤清器60的端部的中空区域86。这准许使用较长的内滤清器来增加用于滤清的滤清媒介的量。可变形筋条88连接到区域86内的端板72的内部,在板80的内部表面与凸缘82的内部表面之间延伸。当内滤清器60安装到外滤清器62中时,上端板66啮合筋条88。继续的安装导致筋条88破碎,从而确保上端板66与上端板72之间的紧密的径向和轴向连接,以防止在组装滤清器60和62时在滤清器60的上端与上端板72之间发生相对轴向和径向移动。这防止在组装滤清器60、62之后在内滤清器与外滤清器之间发生相对轴向和径向运动。相对运动可导致有时被察觉为低质量滤清器的喀啦噪声。然而,如下文将描述,内滤清器60可相对于外滤清器62旋转。

在使用中,在将滤清器滤筒14插入到外壳中之前,可将滤清器滤筒14连接到盖22,其后将盖22旋拧到侧壁16上。指状物92可相对于唇缘90的外边缘滑动,以允许盖22相对于上端板72而旋转。或者,可首先将滤筒14安装在外壳中,且其后将盖22经由指状物92连接到滤筒,且将盖22旋拧到壁16上。通过拧松所述盖且从外壳一起提起盖和滤筒14来进行盖22的移除。随着盖22向上提起,指状物92的端部94啮合唇缘90,从而导致滤筒14也被向上提起。接着可通过手动使指状物92的端部向上偏斜以从唇缘90脱离,来从盖22移除滤筒14。

密封件138可具有适合与立管的外侧密封的任何形状。举例来说,在椭圆形立管的情况下,密封件可为椭圆形;对于圆形立管,密封件可为圆形。另外,密封件138可以任何合适方式紧固到支撑件134。举例来说,密封件138可通过过盈配合、粘合剂等紧固到支撑件134。
多个柔性连接臂142在其外边缘附近连接到板130的底部,且以角度α(例如20度)从板130向下延伸。在所说明的实例中,臂142可围绕板以相等间隔定位,但间距可不相等。另外,在所说明的实施例中,存在四个臂142,但可使用较大或较小数目的臂142。臂142每一者延伸一角度,使得臂的端部144径向定位超过板130的外边缘距离“d”(图6B)。臂142还有助于在滤清媒介64、70之间形成间隙。
臂142用于有助于将内滤清器60的下端板68连接到外滤清器62的下端板74。图3和图7中所说明的端板74包含大体上环形的水平板150,其(例如)使用粘合剂或使用热量以将板150熔合到滤清媒介,来合适地附接到滤清媒介70的底端。板150环绕孔152,内滤清器60可穿过孔152插入外滤清器62中。孔152由凸缘154界定,凸缘154围绕孔152的整个周边从板150向下延伸,以有助于界定所述孔。
向内延伸的凸耳156形成于凸缘154的基座处。凸耳156形成承座以在其上接纳内滤清器60的下端板68的臂142的端部,如图3中所见。由臂142的端部形成的外径优选大于凸耳156的内边缘的内径,使得臂142随着内滤清器60插入外滤清器62中而向内压缩。一旦臂142的端部完全离开凸耳156,端部144就向外弹到图3中所示的位置。因此,臂142、凸缘154和凸耳156的设计在滤清器60、62之间形成搭扣配合连接。破碎筋条88和搭扣配合连接准许外滤清器62与内滤清器60之间围绕中心轴A-A的相对旋转运动,以准许开口132与立管30对准。
参看图7,切口158围绕下端板74的凸缘154的外周边形成。切口158在其中接纳密封件160(图3),其经设计以密封外壳的侧壁16的内部表面,如图1所示。
滤清器滤筒14以第6,884,349号美国专利和第11/780,176号美国专利申请案中所描述的方式与阀50相互作用且致动阀50。然而,本文所描述的概念可以其它方式且在除燃油滤清之外的技术中使用。
本发明可在不脱离本发明的精神或新颖特征的情况下以其它形式体现。本申请案中所揭示的实施例在所有方面都被视为说明性而非限制性的。本发明的范围由所附权利要求书而不是由前面的描述内容指示;且在权利要求书的均等物的意义和范围内的所有改变都既定包含在本发明中。

Claims (9)

1.一种滤清器滤筒,其包括:
外滤清器,其包含:第一滤清媒介;塑料形成的第一端板,其连接到所述第一滤清媒介的端部;以及塑料形成的第二端板,其连接到所述第一滤清媒介的相对端,所述外滤清器包含中心轴;
内滤清器,其包含:第二滤清媒介;塑料形成的第一端板,其连接到所述第二滤清媒介的端部;以及塑料形成的第二端板,其连接到所述第二滤清媒介的相对端,其中所述内滤清器的大小经足以至少部分地被纳入所述外滤清器内;
第一机构,其将所述外滤清器的所述第一端板与所述内滤清器的所述第一端板相互连接,以防止其间的相对径向和轴向移动;以及
第二机构,所述第二机构将所述外滤清器的所述第二端板与所述内滤清器的所述第二端板相互连接。
2.根据权利要求1所述的滤清器滤筒,其中所述第一机构包括多个破碎筋条。
3.根据权利要求2所述的滤清器滤筒,其中所述多个破碎筋条一体形成于所述外滤清器的所述第一端板上,且所述破碎筋条啮合所述内滤清器的所述第一端板的外周边边缘。
4.根据权利要求2所述的滤清器滤筒,其中所述外滤清器的所述第一端板包含:大体上圆形的水平板、从所述水平板向下延伸的凸缘以及连接到所述凸缘的大体上水平的环;所述凸缘包含内部表面,且所述多个破碎筋条连接到所述凸缘的所述内部表面和所述水平板的内部表面。
5.根据权利要求4所述的滤清器滤筒,其中所述大体上水平的环包含附接到所述第一滤清媒介的端部的底表面。
6.根据权利要求2所述的滤清器滤筒,其中所述多个破碎筋条中的至少一者发生形变。
7.根据权利要求1所述的滤清器滤筒,其中所述内滤清器包含与所述外滤清器的所述中心轴同轴的轴。
8.一种用于滤清器滤筒的外滤清器组合件,所述滤清器滤筒由所述外滤清器组合件和内滤清器组合件构造,所述外滤清器组合件包括:
滤清媒介,其围绕中心轴安置,所述滤清媒介包含上端和底端;
上端板,其包含板、从所述板向下延伸的凸缘以及连接到所述凸缘的大体上水平的环,所述板、所述凸缘和所述大体上水平的环由塑料形成;所述凸缘包含内部表面,所述大体上水平的环包含附接到所述滤清媒介的所述上端的底表面;且多个可变形破碎筋条连接到所述凸缘的所述内部表面;以及
塑料形成的底端板,其连接到所述滤清媒介的所述底端,所述底端板包括将所述底端板连接到所述内滤清器组合件的端板的形成的连接机构。
9.根据权利要求8所述的外滤清器组合件,其中所述上端板的所述板为大体上圆形的且大体上水平的。
