Abstract

背景技术
电信网络通常涉及电信器件之间的数百个互连。互连通常包括用线缆将器件连接在一起。在一些系统中,插塞式线缆用于将诸如连接插座、模块或块的连接设备链接到电信器件。需要一种改进的电信网络,在该网络中可以对尤其是插塞式线缆的器件之间的连接进行管理,以允许大量线缆的更简单的系统管理。
发明内容
本发明涉及包括网络扫描器、扫描器接口单元和智能激活单元的网络管理器。智能激活单元与线缆连接模块一起使用,该线缆连接模块包括用于连接线缆的绝缘置换连接器。智能激活单元向技术员提供关于在系统建立或系统维护期间应该接入哪个线缆连接模块的可视信号。

具体实施方式
现在参考图1,示出了用于管理电信线缆的电信网络管理器2。具体地,网络管理器2可以是用于管理在线缆连接设备(例如线缆连接插座、模块或块)之间延伸的线缆,例如插塞式线缆。一种示例性的连接设备是如美国专利申请号5494461所示的连接模块36(见图5),其具有用于连接线缆的绝缘置换连接器56(IDC的),将以上公开作为整体引入本文作为参考。网络管理器2可以向技术员发送关于应该接入哪个连接设备的可视指示。
网络管理器2包括通过电气连接10来连接到一个或多个扫描器接口单元14的网络扫描器6。网络扫描器6管理与管理器2相关联的数据和信令,其中管理器2管理用于连接器件的线缆。扫描器接口单元14执行用于将多个信号线路压缩为更少数量的线路的压缩功能。扫描器接口单元14包括电气连接18,电气连接18连接到与线缆连接模块36一起使用的智能激活单元22,例如美国专利号码5494461中描述的类型。电气连接10的形式可以是带状线缆。电气连接18的形式可以是包括导线的多芯线缆。
可以在初始网络系统建立期间使用网络管理器2以便在器件之间建立连接。并且,可以将网络管理器添加到现有的线缆连接模块系统,而无需中断连接模块或该与系统连接的线缆。网络管理器2使用于管理器件之间的连接,例如当需要改变时建议技术员接入某个连接。
如图2所示,扫描器接口单元14可以包括一个或多个用于将信号从扫描器接口单元14链接到网络扫描器6的带状线缆连接26。扫描器接口单元14使用连接器30,例如打接器,连接到智能激活单元22。电路板32可以包括必要的电路,该电路包括用于将带状线缆连接26链接到连接器30的切换二极管。
现在参考图3A、3B,智能激活单元22装配在连接模块36上与线缆末端相邻。支柱50装配在连接模块36的凹槽52中。如下所述,接入面板38允许选择性地接入连接模块36上的线缆末端。接入面板38还提供标注面或其它需要的面。
智能激活单元22包括至少一个用于连接到扫描器接口单元14的连接器42。在一个实施例中,连接器42是打接器。智能激活单元22还包括用于向接入网络的技术员提供可视指示的可视指示器,例如LED46。
现在参考图4,在电信网络100中示出了标记为36a-f并且构造得像模块3一样的多个连接模块。通过包括多个连接模块36a-36f的连接面板102,将示例性器件A连接到示例性器件B。模块36a-36f可以架装或杆装在架子或杆子系统104之内或之上。如上所述,可以根据美国专利号码5494461中公开的连接模块来构造连接模块36a-36f。在图4中,虚线所示是智能激活单元22,以便观察连接模块36a-36f的特征。如果技术员需要关于连接的信息,扫描器6可以激活相关智能激活单元22上的LED 46,以向技术员建议需要接入哪个智能激活单元22和基础连接模块36。
网络100可以包括一百到五百或更多连接模块36。图4仅仅示出六个。可以使用写入日志来追踪模块36之间的连接。然而,当网络管理器2和智能激活单元22与面板102中的连接模块36一起使用时,得到更有利的系统。
现在参考图5,示出了其中一个连接模块36,其具有位于电线末端56附近的智能激活单元22。如图5所示,接入面板38从关闭位置转到开启位置,从而无需移动智能激活单元22就允许接入电线末端56。电线末端56的形式是IDC。在一些网络中,用于连接器件的电线是双绞线。在连接模块36中,将电线末端配对以形成端口。两个线缆之间的电线对通过连接模块36相互连接。
如图4所示,可以利用两个模块36的电线末端56来将器件A连接到器件B。例如,在第一端口78,第一线缆62的电线64、66将器件A连接到连接模块36b。在第二端口88,第二线缆72的电线74、76将器件B连接到连接模块36d。具有电线84、86的插塞线或线缆82将连接模块36b的端口78连接到连接模块36d的端口88。
如图4和5所示,智能激活单元22的高度和宽度与连接模块36相同,从而无需改变连接模块36的装配就可以进行改造。在优选的配置中,与智能激活单元唯一相关的电路是包括打接器42和LED 46的小型电路板48(见图6)。与管理器相关联的其余电路位于扫描器接口单元14上。扫描器接口单元14同样可以是与连接模块36装配在一起的架子或杆子104。在实例实施例中,每个智能激活单元22包括两个打接器42和两个LED46,每个打接器42或两个LED 46用于由网络管理器2管理的4对电路中的每一个。
上述说明、实例和数据提供了对本发明的结构的使用和制造的完整描述。可以在不脱离本发明的精神和范围的前提下实施本发明的多个实施例,所以本发明的本质是由附属的权利要求所定义的。
Claims (20)
1、一种电信网络管理系统,包括:
网络扫描器;
连接到所述网络扫描器的多个独立的激活单元,每个激活单元包括可视指示器;
多个电信连接块;
多个双绞线对,用于对从所述连接块中所选择的连接块进行连接以定义多个块连接;
其中所述激活单元是独立的单元并且装配在所述连接块附近;
其中所述网络扫描器包括对应于所述块连接的数据库;
其中所述网络扫描器控制所述激活单元的所述可视指示器显示所述块连接。
2、如权利要求1所述的系统,进一步包括用于将所述网络扫描器连接到每个所述激活单元的扫描器接口单元,其中所述网络扫描器和所述扫描器接口单元之间的所述连接包括带状线缆。
3、如权利要求2所述的系统,其中所述扫描器接口单元和所述激活单元之间的所述连接包括至少一个含有多根电线的多芯线缆。
4、如权利要求3所述的系统,其中所述扫描器接口单元包括:
多个带状线缆连接器;
多个打线连接器;
用于将所述带状线缆连接器连接到所述打线连接器的电路板。
5、如权利要求2所述的系统,其中所述扫描器接口单元包括:
多个带状线缆连接器;
多个打线连接器;
用于将所述带状线缆连接器连接到所述打线连接器的电路板。
6、如权利要求1所述的系统,其中每个激活单元包括:
用于定义开口的框架;
位于所述开口中的铰接盖。
7、如权利要求6所述的系统,其中所述每个激活单元的框架包括:
可视指示器;
连接到所述可视指示器的打线连接器。
8、如权利要求7所述的系统,其中所述每个激活单元的框架包括:
两个可视指示器;
两个打线连接器,每个打线连接器连接到所述可视指示器中的一个。
9、如权利要求1所述的系统,其中每个连接块包括:
包括前端的主体;
可从所述前端接入的多个导电的连接,所述导电的连接排列成至少一条线。
10、如权利要求9所述的系统,其中每个连接块包括排列成所述至少一条线的八对导电的连接。
11、一种网络管理方法,包括:
提供多个电信连接块,所述多个电信连接块装配在面板中并且通过导电的块连接彼此成对地连接;
将激活单元装配到每个连接块;
将每个激活单元连接到控制系统;
将信号从所述控制系统发送到所述激活单元中的一个;
响应于从所述控制系统接收到所述信号,在所述激活单元上显示可视指示器。
12、一种电信连接块,包括:
双绞对连接器主体,其包括机架和用于连接到双绞对线的导电的绝缘置换连接器;
独立地装配在所述主体上的框架,所述框架包括可视指示器和控制信号连接器;
可移动地装配在所述框架上的面板,用于覆盖所述导电的绝缘置换连接器。
13、一种电信网络管理系统,包括:
网络扫描器;
连接到所述网络扫描器的多个独立的激活单元,每个激活单元包括可视指示器;
扫描器接口单元,用于将所述网络扫描器连接到每个所述激活单元;
架子;
装配在所述架子上的多个电信连接块,其中每个连接块包括:
包括前端的主体;
可从所述前端接入的多个导电的连接,所述导电的连接排列成一条线,其中每个连接块包括至少八对导电的连接;
多条双绞线对,用于对从所述连接块中所选择的连接块进行连接,以定义多个块连接;
其中所述激活单元是独立的单元并且装配在与每个主体的所述前端相邻的所述连接块上;
其中所述网络扫描器包括对应于所述块连接的数据库;
其中所述网络扫描器控制所述激活单元的所述可视指示器显示所述块连接。
14、如权利要求13所述的系统,其中所述网络扫描器和所述扫描器接口单元之间的所述连接包括带状线缆。
15、如权利要求14所述的系统,其中所述扫描器接口单元和所述激活单元之间的所述连接包括线缆多芯线缆。
16、如权利要求15所述的系统,其中所述扫描器接口单元包括:
多个带状线缆连接器;
多个打线连接器;
用于将所述带状线缆连接器连接到所述打线连接器的电路板。
17、如权利要求13所述的系统,其中每个激活单元包括:
用于定义中央开口的框架;
后端连接,用于连接到所述连接块的所述主体的所述前端;
位于所述中央开口的铰接盖。
18、如权利要求17所述的系统,其中所述每个激活单元的框架包括:
可视指示器;
连接到所述可视指示器的打线连接器。
19、如权利要求18所述的系统,其中所述每个激活单元的框架包括:
两个可视指示器;
两个打线连接器,每个打线连接器连接到所述可视指示器中的一个。
20、如权利要求13所述的系统,其中所述导电的连接包括绝缘置换连接器。
