Abstract

A method of making an absorbent composite that includes a first fabric, a second fabric, and particles positioned between the two fabrics and absorbent articles made from the absorbent composite. The particles are secured between the two fabric using adhesive, thermal plastic or combinations thereof. The fabrics are bonded together in a manner that limits particle movement between the fabrics. The bond pattern may define pockets or other shapes. In applications in which the bond pattern forms pockets, the particles may be positioned in the pockets. The particles may be SAP particles or other particles with advantageous properties.

Description

The method and the absorbent article that utilizes absorb composite material that prepare absorb composite material
Background of invention
[0001] the present invention relates generally to the method for preparing absorb composite material. The present invention also is usually directed to utilize the disposable absorbent article of absorb composite material.Disposable absorbent article comprises diaper, training pants, adult incontinence product, bodily exudate absorbent article, feminine hygiene article and other absorbent articles (being called as " disposable absorbent article " jointly).
[0002] three kinds of infrastructure components of existing disposable absorbent article general using: form inner surface top flat, form the egative film of outer surface and place top flat and egative film between absorbent cores.Top flat be designed to allow liquid from the absorbent article outside by top flat and enter absorbent cores.Top flat can be made by the liquid of certain limit and the water wetted material or the hydrophobic material of vapor permeable. The permeability usable surface activating agent (" interfacial agent ") of top flat increases.Surfactant reduces the surface energy or the contact angle at liquid-solid interface, and promotes that liquid passes through top flat.
[0003] egative film be designed to prevent fluid from absorbent cores by egative film and leave absorbent article. The impermeable thin film that egative film can be extended by the complete width at goods or the combination of class cloth material and impermeable thin film are made.Egative film also can have ventilative character (" breathability "), and this character allows steam to see through egative film and is not released in the fluid that stores in the absorbent cores.Egative film also can be by liquid non-permeate the non-woven material of vapor permeable make, as spunbond-melt and spray-spunbond (" SMS "), spunbond-as to melt and spray-as to melt and spray-spunbond (" SMMS "), micron, nanometer or split from fiber, spin molten or spunlaced, carded material etc.
[0004] absorbent cores is designed to hold and distribute the fluid by top flat.General absorbent cores is made by the stable high or ultra absorbing polymeric (SAP) of absorption base.SAP is usually by making such as the material of polyvinyl alcohol, polyacrylate, various graft starch and cross-linked sodium polyacrylate.SAP can be the form of granule, fiber, foam, net, ball, rule or erose agglomerate and thin film.Absorption base is generally defiber wood pulp or similar material.Absorption base is very bulk with respect to top flat, egative film and SAP.Most of thickness of diaper comes from absorbent cores.
[0005] consumer of absorbent article more and more needs thin absorbent article. In order to satisfy these needs, manufacturer reduces the thickness of absorbent article by the amount that reduces the absorption base that uses in the absorbent cores.Though the absorbent cores that obtains is thinner, they suffer damage at aspect of performance.Because the amount of absorption base reduces, the efficient of SAP stable (preventing that SAP from moving in absorbent cores) is reduced.Because SAP moves at in-core, the loss in efficiency of absorbent cores, and no longer include even absorbability. For example, not involved SAP tends in the poly-group in humidifying zone, and invalid to the Excreta of processing subsequent.
[0006] manufacturer has attempted addressing this problem by preparing little independent SAP bag or gluing together SAP.Yet these solutions are not success to a great extent. The SAP bag only makes migration be limited in bag and moves.Yet owing to still have granule to move, absorbent cores does not show even absorbability.Gummed SAP makes SAP stable, but obtains uncomfortable stiff absorbent cores, and the loss of the swelliong power of SAP.
Therefore [0007] need a kind of absorbent article of improvement, described goods continuity reduces the trend of products thickness, makes goods hardness reduce to minimum simultaneously, and shows splendid absorbability in addition.

[00041] turn to accompanying drawing now, Fig. 1 shows an embodiment of the inventive method.Show that in Fig. 1 fabric 125 distributes from roller 120, and be stated from the conveyer belt 100 along production line.According to an embodiment, fabric 125 is a thermoplastic, and thermoplastic can be weaving material, non-woven material, thin film or its combination.Fabric 125 is fixed on the conveyer belt 100 by vacuum system 110.Vacuum system 110 is used to make fabric 125 to be fixed to conveyer belt 100.
[00042] in one embodiment, the surface of conveyer belt 100 has female, when fabric draws on the surface that leans against conveyer belt 100, forms cup in fabric 125.The surface of conveyer belt 100 is not limited to form the structure of cup in fabric, but can be constructed with multiple different surfaces shape and size.Example comprises ridge, convex shape and hole.In addition, surface configuration can be striden conveyer belt width and length evenly or uneven distribution.Perhaps, conveyer belt 100 can be flat.Conveyer belt 100 has in the application of hole or other similar structures therein, and the degree of depth of the bag that forms in fabric 125 can be changed by the power of vacuum system 110, elasticity or its combination of fabric 125.In addition, when fabric draws on the surface that leans against conveyer belt 100, the available elasticity that adds heat gain fabric 125.Can heat fabric by the conveyer belt of heating or in any other method known in the art.Can stride the surface of conveyer belt 100 or evenly apply vacuum 110 in selected position. For example, the surface of conveyer belt 100 has in the structure of depression therein, can only apply vacuum at recess.
[00043] on fabric 125, deposits SAP granule 135 by SAP allotter 130 then.SAP allotter 130 can be configured to make the SAP granule to be positioned at desired position on first fabric, perhaps can only be configured to make the SAP granule to deposit on first fabric, and wherein the SAP granule is arranged by another kind of method. Those skilled in the art understands can use a plurality of SAP allotters 130.Can be by reeling or other known methods make SAP granule 135 be deposited on, be arranged in or deposit and be arranged on the fabric 125.Perhaps, conveyer belt shown in Figure 1 can be inverted, so that vacuum system 110 adapts to from top suction. In this structure, fabric 125 is stated from the source of supply of SAP granule 135, and the SAP granule is remained on the surface of fabric 125 by vacuum system 110.In the embodiment for choosing, SAP allotter 130 can comprise the skin nursing granule, as ion exchange resin, deodorizer, antimicrobial, adhesive particle or other useful granules. In addition, though embodiment preferred relates to the SAP granule, method disclosed herein can with above-mentioned particulate any use that combines, comprise the combination that does not comprise SAP.Perhaps, the available favourable independent dissimilar granule of arranging along the production line (not shown) of allotter deposition, for example skin nursing granule.
[00044] SAP granule 135 can be arranged and concentrate on the fabric 125 for choosing method according to some.In one embodiment, vacuum system 110 and fabric 125 can be configured to allow vacuum system 110 SAP granule 135 evenly to be drawn on the surface that leans against fabric 125 or specific region. In another embodiment, the shape of fabric 125 guiding SAP granule 135 enters suitable position. For example, when fabric 125 is configured as bag, SAP granule 135 since vacuum system 110, conveyer belt vibration, coiling, conveyer belt angle or its combination roll in the bag.Perhaps, can arrange and control SAP allotter 130 and stride the surface strategy of fabric 125 and distribute SAP granule 135, this strategy is arranged and is included but not limited to aim at or misalignment, biasing or random with vertical. In addition, can arrange the SAP granule, make to have not have the particulate zone of SAP.In addition, useful binders is arranged the SAP granule, for example applies binding agent on the ad-hoc location on surface, deposits the SAP granule from the teeth outwards. In addition, the SAP granule can be arranged in fabric 125 and 155 on both.
[00045] in case the SAP granule has deposited and has been arranged on the fabric 125, just can second fabric 155 be introduced production line from roller 150.Second fabric 155 can be selected from multiple material, comprises spunbond thermoplastic or similar weaving or non-woven material, thin film or its combination.
[00046] binding agent 145 can be applied on the SAP granule 135 in many ways.Fig. 1 shows that binding agent 145 is applied on the fabric 155.Perhaps, binding agent 145 can be applied on fabric 125 and the SAP granule 135, is applied on the fabric 125 before SAP granule 135 is deposited on the fabric 125, perhaps is applied directly on the SAP granule before on the fabric 125 at the SAP particle deposition. In another embodiment, binding agent 145 is applied to the point that fabric 125 and 155 engages the place together. In another embodiment, apply a plurality of adhesive coatings. For example, binding agent 145 can be applied on the fabric 125 before SAP granule 135 deposition, had arranged after-appliedly to SAP granule 135 at them, was applied on the fabric 155 or its combination. As above embodiment substitute or additional, adhesive particle is mixed with SAP granule 135.In addition, according to the required absorbent properties of finishing composite, binding agent can be even, random or be applied with special pattern.
[00047] can apply binding agent according to several different methods well known by persons skilled in the art.For example, binding agent can be sprayed, roll on the surface that is coated with or is spun on fabric 155.Binding agent can be hydrophobic, hydrophilic, biodegradable, biologically-derived or its combination.Preferred adhesive is a hydrophobicity. In the coating concentration of binding agent can 1 gram/square metre and 100 restrain/square metre (" GSM ") between.Optium concentration is between 5GSM and 75GSM.In preferred embodiments, concentration is between 12GSM and 50GSM.In addition, should apply enough binding agents to cover at least 25% target area.
[00048] then fabric 125 and 155 is bonded together.Fig. 1 shows the hot adhesion system of felt wrapped roll 160 and 170 that wherein uses.Yet can use other bonding system/methods.For example, can use the ultrasonic bonding system of Figure 4 and 5.In the bonding process and after the bonding process, binding agent 145 can remain on relatively-stationary position with SAP granule 135 with respect to fabric.Bond pattern can distribute with SAP granule 135 and aim at.Perhaps, bond pattern can not distribute with SAP granule 135 and aim at.In this embodiment, before maybe will be by SAP granule 135 bondings by SAP granule 135 bonding, stamping device can adapt to SAP granule 135 is touched on one side. These embodiments are eliminated needs bonding point and SAP distribution of particles synchronous.
[00049] fabric 155 and 125 is shown as two kinds of materials.Yet those skilled in the art understands, and described fabric can reality be the part of same material. In this structure, folding integral type fabric is to cover the SAP granule.Perhaps, can be before applying second fabric 155 edge of folding fabric 125.In fabric 125 and the 155 isolating embodiments, fabric 125 and 155 can be identical or different material therein. In addition, fabric 155 can be the size of the specific region of covering fabric 125, for example central area.
[00050] in case fabric bonds together, absorb composite material 195 promptly is collected on the rewinding machine 200.
[00051] Fig. 2 shows the preferred embodiment of the inventive method.Fabric 125 is carried along conveyer belt 100.When conveyer belt 100 is carried fabrics 125, the shallow layer of binding agent 145 is applied on the fabric 125.The same with Fig. 1 method, according to the required absorbent properties of finishing composite, binding agent can be even, random or be applied with special pattern.Apply before SAP granule 135 depositions though show binding agent 145 among the figure, can envision embodiment for choosing. For example, can be according to applying binding agent about the described embodiment of Fig. 1.
[00052] after applying binding agent, SAP granule 135 depositions also are arranged on the fabric 125.SAP granule 135 directly is deposited on the fabric 125, as shown in Figure 2, perhaps deposits indirectly, for example by striding fabric 125 air blast SAP granules. The particulate weight of SAP helps fabric 125 is fixed on the conveyer belt 100.In addition, the SAP granule can be similar to the disclosed mode of Fig. 1 is arranged.
[00053] then second fabric 155 is sent into production line from roller 150.Arrange that second fabric is to cover SAP granule 135.Binding agent 145 prevents that the SAP granule from moving freely between two fabrics. Then the gained sandwich structure is carried out hot adhesion to felt wrapped roll.As described in to Fig. 1, bond pattern can be aimed at or misalignment with SAP granule 135.Collect absorb composite material 195 by rewinding machine 200 then.As described in to Fig. 1, fabric 125 and 155 can be the part of monolithic. In addition, can be to the described mode folding fabric of Fig. 1.In another embodiment, fabric 125 useful binders apply, and suppress on the particulate source of supply of SAP.
[00054] Fig. 3 is similar to Fig. 1 and 2, and difference is to arrange the energy 900 along assembly line, as stove or microwave generator. The energy apply heat and or radiation 910, heat and or radiation 910 can be used for the molten thermoplastic binding agent. Also scalable adds heat, with the concrete section of the granule of fusion particular type or fiber, fabric or the skin of melt granules/binding agent only.
[00055] Figure 4 and 5 are similar to Fig. 1 and 2, and difference is with ultrasonic bonding fabric to be bonded together.Figure 4 and 5 show ultrasonic bonding system (210a and 210b).Be readily appreciated that Fig. 1-5 shows the different embodiments of new method, and various aspects that can favourable as required combination distinct methods.Yet all combinations importantly are applied to the amount and the adhesion strength of binding agent 145, adhesive particle or its combination of SAP granule 135.As Fig. 1 is mentioned, the optium concentration of binding agent is between 12GSM and 50GSM, although other concentration can be accepted. In all embodiments, importantly the concentration height of binding agent 145 must be enough to stop 135 migrations of SAP granule.Yet this concentration should be too not high, expands so that apply SAP granule 135 and reduce SAP.Binding agent should only stop enough SAP granule 135 migrations to guarantee even absorbability.Though show, those skilled in the art understand, and the energy 900 shown in Figure 3 configuration shown in also can Fig. 2,4 and 5 applies.
[00056] Fig. 6 (a)-(q) shows the different bond pattern that the inventive method contains. But zone of bond pattern complete closed, a partially enclosed zone, or the local bonding zone is provided.Line and some expression bonded part.Solid line is described tack line.Tack line can form opening shape or close-shaped, and as the shape of finding at example (a) and (c), it describes the continuous tack line of the bag of complete closed SAP granule 135, perhaps as example (g), the zones of different of absorb composite material is separated.Dotted line as finding at example (b) with (m), is the interruption tack line that not exclusively seals the bag of SAP granule 135.In these configurations, dry SAP granule migration is subjected to binding agent and inhibition continuous or the interruption bond pattern.Available interruption bond pattern (pond patter) replaces continuous bond pattern, and vice versa. In addition, although Fig. 6 shows continuously or the interruption bond pattern, can use and be interrupted and the combination of bond pattern continuously.
[00057] Fig. 7 shows the partial cross sectional view of absorb composite material 195.Fig. 7 shows how binding part 192 can be used in the bag of separating SAP granule 135.As bond pattern is mentioned, can make SAP granule 135 be completely enclosed within by bond pattern limit the bag in, partially enclosed in limits by bond pattern bag in or only stop by bond pattern. In this article " prevention " be meant that SAP granule 135 can not be directly moves to another zone from a zone of core, and should move around the bonded part.
[00058] in one aspect of the invention, type by changing the particulate amount of SAP, used fabric and quantity and structure variable (as the ratio of SAP with binding agent) also apply absorb composite material at the goods diverse location, can obtain multiple function or advantageous feature in absorb composite material.
[00059] in addition, those skilled in the art understand, and can revise the method for the above-mentioned single absorb composite material of structure, press absorb composite material with the preparation multilamellar. In comprising multiwalled structure, layer can be the sheet of absorb composite material 195, and these sheets are laminated together, forms single structure with the alternating layer that forms single structure or formation fabric and SAP granule 135.Those skilled in the art understands, and by binding agent being applied to the top (Fig. 1) of fabric 155, applies 135 layers of the 2nd SAP granules and the 3rd fabric (not shown), can obtain these alternating layers.Equally, can increase other layers, this is applicable to the restriction of the maximum ga(u)ge of adhesive method.
[00060] in any one embodiment of absorb composite material, SAP granule 135 can apply with the miscibility hydrophobic substance.Coating is taken in as initially slowing down liquid, thereby stores the barrier layer or the film of other or secondary Excreta SAP capacity.About this point, coating makes the absorption rate homogenize between the Excreta. In the method shown in Fig. 1 to 5, can be before applying binding agent 145, apply after the binding agent 145 or apply coating simultaneously.Perhaps, binding agent is mixed with coating.
[00061] in one embodiment, can on SAP granule 135, apply the shallow layer of mineral oil.Described coating stops the SAP granule initially to be taken in, and allows with the more time liquid to be sprawled in goods.Preferred mineral oil with about 0.00001 gram/gram SAP extremely the concentration of about 0.1 gram/gram SAP apply (designing) according to specific products.Perhaps, mineral oil can be applied to the objectives zone.In this way, before regions coated activation and beginning swelling, impel the liquid initial of reception to spread into uncoated zone.
[00062] can be used for disposable absorbent article by the absorb composite material of method for preparing or as one or more elements of disposable absorbent article. The element of absorbent article comprises egative film, top flat, absorbent cores, envelope wall or hoop (comprising the shank rivel), egative film/absorbent cores composite, top flat/absorb composite material and combination thereof. These structures of following more detailed description.
