Description

Method and system for paging user equipment
Technical Field
The present invention relates to the field of wireless communication technologies, and in particular, to a method and a system for paging a user equipment.
Background
At present, when paging a user equipment (ue), a network side directly pages the ue in the whole paging area where the ue is located. Since different user equipments have different user equipment capabilities, e.g. the user equipments have different capabilities to support multiple Radio Access Technologies (RATs), i.e. for existing multi-RAT overlap areas, the user equipments may support multiple RATs or support one RAT. In the case that the user equipment does not support multiple RATs, the network side may still page the user equipment in the RAT area within the entire paging area, resulting in a waste of paging resources.
Similarly, in long term evolution research project (LTE) there are private networks, i.e. networks where only allowed users can camp on and access. Under the condition that the user equipment does not support the private network, the network side still pages the user equipment in the private network in the whole paging area, which results in the waste of paging resources.
Therefore, in the prior art, since the network side performs paging in the whole paging area where the user equipment is located, reasonable paging control cannot be performed according to the capability of the user equipment, so that the paging resource is wasted, and the paging load is increased.
Disclosure of Invention
In view of this, an embodiment of the present invention provides a method for paging a ue, so that a network side performs targeted paging on the ue according to the capability of the ue, thereby saving air interface resources.
One embodiment of the present invention provides a method for paging a user equipment, the method comprising:
the core network node sends a notification for paging processing to the access network node according to the capability information of the user equipment;
and the access network node performs paging processing on the user equipment according to the notification.
One embodiment of the invention provides a system for paging user equipment, which comprises a core network node and one or more access network nodes; wherein,
the core network node is used for sending the notification of the paging processing to the access network node according to the capability information of the user equipment;
and the access network node is used for paging the user equipment according to the notification message.
One embodiment of the present invention provides a method for updating user equipment capability, including:
the network side acquires the user equipment capacity information data of the user equipment in an idle state, and acquires the user equipment capacity information according to the user equipment capacity information data;
the network side stores user equipment capability information.
One embodiment of the present invention provides a network side device for updating a capability of a user equipment, the network side device comprising an obtaining module and a storing module, wherein,
the acquisition module is used for acquiring the user equipment capacity information data of the user equipment in an idle state, acquiring the user equipment capacity information according to the user equipment capacity information data and sending the user equipment capacity information to the storage module;
and the storage module is used for receiving the user equipment capacity information from the acquisition module and storing the user equipment capacity information.
It can be seen from the above scheme that, in the embodiment of the present invention, the network side performs targeted paging on the ue in all paging areas where the ue is located according to the capability information of the ue, thereby effectively saving air interface resources and avoiding paging waste.
In addition, the network side can update the user equipment capability information of the user equipment in an idle state in time in the embodiment of the invention, so that when the network side initiates paging to the user equipment according to the user equipment capability information, paging waste caused by the change of the user equipment capability is avoided, and the paging load is reduced.

It is assumed that in the present embodiment, the capability of the ue to support multiple RATs is included in the ue capability information, and the capability of the ue to support multiple RATs is assumed to support only the third generation mobile communication system (3G).
When the embodiment of the invention is applied, the core network node can carry the capability information of the user equipment in the interactive information with the access network node. The interactive information which can carry the capability information of the user equipment and inform the access network node of paging processing is in the protection scope of the invention.
Step 12: the access network node judges whether the received user equipment capability information is matched with the attribute of the access network node, if so, the step 13 is carried out; otherwise, step 14 is entered.
And the access network node acquires the user equipment capability information from the received notification message and judges whether the attribute of the access network node is matched with the user equipment capability information. In this embodiment, the ue capability information received by the access node indicates that the ue only supports 3G, then the access network node in the 3G network in the paging area matches the ue capability information, and the access network nodes of other networks, such as the access network node in the 2G network, do not match the ue capability information.
Step 13: the access network node initiates paging to the user equipment and ends the process.
In this embodiment, if the access network node of the 3G network in the paging area matches the capability information of the user equipment, the access network node initiates paging to the user equipment.
Step 14: the access network node does not initiate paging to the user equipment.
In this embodiment, if the access network node of the network other than the 3G network in the paging area is not matched with the capability information of the user equipment, the access network node does not initiate paging to the user equipment.
In the embodiment of the present invention, the method for paging the user equipment in the embodiment of the present invention is described by taking the capability of the user equipment supporting multiple RATs as an example, which is only a preferred example of the present invention and is not intended to limit the present invention, and the core network node may carry the capability information of other user equipment in the notification message, for example, the capability of the user equipment supporting multiple frequency layers, so that the matched access network node can initiate paging to the user equipment.
As can be seen, in the first embodiment, the access network node that does not match the capability information of the user equipment does not initiate paging for the user equipment according to the determination of the access network node, thereby effectively avoiding the waste of air interface resources and reducing the paging load.
Fig. 2 shows a flow of a second embodiment of a method for paging a ue in the embodiment of the present invention, and as shown in fig. 2, the method for paging a ue in the embodiment of the present invention specifically includes:
step 21: and the core network node selects an access network node matched with the user equipment capability information according to the stored user equipment capability information.
And the core network node selects the access network node matched with the user equipment capability information before sending the notification message to all the access network nodes in the paging area according to the stored user equipment capability information. It is assumed that in the present embodiment, the capability of the ue to support multiple RATs is included in the ue capability information, and the capability of the ue to support multiple RATs is assumed to support only the third generation mobile communication system (3G).

Step 22: and the core network node sends a notification message to the matched access network node.
In this embodiment, the core network node sends a notification message to the matched access network node, that is, sends a notification message to an access network node in the 3G network. If the access network node of the network except the 3G network in the paging area is not matched with the capability information of the user equipment, the access network node does not receive the notification message and does not initiate paging to the user equipment.
When the embodiment of the invention is applied, the access network node informs the access network node to initiate paging by sending the interactive information. The interactive information which can enable the core network node to inform the access network node of paging the user equipment is all within the protection scope of the invention.
Step 23: and the matched access network node receives the notification message and initiates paging to the user equipment.
The matched access network node receiving the notification message initiates paging to the user equipment, and in this embodiment, the access network node in the 3G network initiates paging to the user equipment.
In the embodiment of the present invention, the method for paging the user equipment in the embodiment of the present invention is described by taking the capability of the user equipment supporting multiple RATs as an example, which is only a preferred example of the present invention and is not intended to limit the present invention, and the core network node may carry the capability information of other user equipment in the notification message, for example, the capability of the user equipment supporting multiple frequency layers, so that the core network node can send the notification message to the matching access network node.
As can be seen, in the second embodiment, through the judgment of the core network node, the access network node that does not match the capability information of the user equipment cannot receive the notification message, and does not initiate paging to the user equipment, thereby effectively avoiding the waste of paging resources and reducing the paging load.
Fig. 3 shows a flow of a first embodiment of a system for paging a user equipment in an embodiment of the present invention, and as shown in fig. 3, the system for paging a user equipment in an embodiment of the present invention includes a core network node and one or more access network nodes in a paging area.

The core network node is used for sending a notification message to the access network node according to the stored user equipment capability information of the user equipment. In this embodiment, the core network node includes a selection module and a notification module.
The selection module is used for selecting the access network node matched with the user equipment capability information and sending the selection result to the notification module.
And the notification module is used for sending a notification message to the matched access network node according to the selection result from the selection module.
In the embodiment of the invention, the notification module notifies the access network node to initiate paging by sending the notification information. The interactive information which can enable the notification module to notify the access network node to page the user equipment is all within the protection scope of the invention.
And the access network node matched with the capability of the user equipment in the access network nodes is used for initiating paging to the user equipment.
