技术领域
本发明涉及一种电视节目建议方法及用于执行所述方法的装置,所述方法尤其涉及基于观众对电子节目导向(EPG)的使用的电视节目建议方法。
随着观众可得到的电视频道数量的增加,观众日益难以发现感兴趣的节目。通过显示根据特定类型、频道、时隙等而分组的即将到来的节目,EPG可以帮助克服这个问题。若干更复杂的电视节目建议方法是已知的且总体上通过EPG向观众显示建议,使建议是基于观众的个性(profile)。观众个性包括与观众的兴趣有关的信息且可根据明确地由观众输入偏爱或隐含地从观众行为方面所获得的兴趣信息而产生。
发明背景
专利文件WO 00/04708公开了使用与观众目前正在观看节目有关的信息的电视节目建议方法,以做出建议。这可以被说明为环境(context)敏感性的建议方法,建议环境由与目前所观看节目有关的信息来给出。
使用与观众目前正在观看节目有关的信息的电视节目建议方法必要地被限制成以与目前正在观看的节目有关的某一方法,即目前环境做出节目建议,但是如果目前正在被观看的节目与观众的兴趣无关,则观众可要求节目建议。基于目前的节目对建议的限制可提供太窄范围的节目建议。
发明内容
本发明优选实施例的目的是提供一种基于观众使用EPG的电视节目建议方法,所述EPG提供对环境敏感性的节目建议而没有上述说明的限制。
根据本发明的第一方面,提供电视节目建议方法,所述方法的特征在于所提供的节目建议是基于观众兴趣的个性及在EPG结构中的观众目前位置。
供给基于环境的建议而不是仅仅基于观众个性的简单建议确保可以给出一个更加焦点集中的建议,其更可能满足观众在那时的实际观看偏爱。
优选地,从目前位置可直接访问的且与来自个性的观众偏爱紧密相关的程序选择被建议给观众。
适当地,提供给观众的第一建议是来自目前位置、具有与观众偏爱最密切相关的节目选择。
在EPG结构中的观众目前位置可包括:

具体实施方式

建议引擎46访问个性块44以获取观众个性,并且还访问EPG块38的EPG数据库39以获取关于即将到来节目的元数据。在接收到这些信息时,建议引擎46将包含基于环境的建议的视频信号输出到视频混合器34,用于将由视频混合器34所供给的信号结合到光输出器件36上。建议引擎的输出可被混合进单独的画中画窗口,或作为选择地可被混合进现存的EPG画中画窗口。
观众可接受程序建议之一并且通过使用遥控单元40导航通过EPG结构以发出这一接受的信号。在这种情况下,EPG块38将来自其第二输出的信号馈给到解调/调谐器块32的控制输入上。解调/调谐器块32调谐到所需要的电视频道且将相关的视频信息发送到视频混合器34用于在光输出器件36上显示。

建议引擎基本上评价与属于目前被浏览的EPG环境的节目有关的元数据和已知的观众个性之间的相关性,并且基于最高的相关性提出建议。然而,如果在目前被浏览环境的这种元数据和已知的观众个性之间仅存在低的相关性,则不做出建议。相关性的阈值水平可被预先设定在所述装置内,这样,当身为基于环境的建议接收到低于所述那个阈值的相关水平时,没有建议被提出。
为了选择所建议的节目,观众激活窗口430并且一旦在窗口430内浏览,则以正常方式选择建议。
因此,已经示出本发明的实施例可如何向观众提供宽范围的相关节目建议。本发明避免建议仅与观众个性有关的节目且从而避免总是重复相同的建议。

Claims (12)

1、一种电视节目建议方法,所述方法包括:
提供EPG结构,并且使观众能够改变EPG中的位置;
存储观众偏爱的个性(44);
