System and method for transmitting multimedia message in network television system
Technical Field
The present invention relates to the field of Internet Protocol Television (IPTV) value-added services, and more particularly, to a system and method for implementing multimedia message transmission.
Background
The IPTV (internet protocol television) service is a broadband value-added service based on a broadband network, and provides multimedia services to users by using a television and a set-top box as main terminal devices. The IPTV platform can provide a plurality of value-added services such as audio and video broadcasting on demand, communication service, interactive games, information service, karaoke, remote education and the like.
In the IPTV system, unified communication services including point-to-point message sending, message group sending, short message sending, etc. can be supported at present, which is a large extension of the IPTV value-added services. However, the current messages are mainly text and are relatively single.
With the continuous development of broadband networks and IPTV services, the service demands of IPTV users for short messages, multimedia messages, and mails are beginning to appear. The invention discloses a method for realizing message service in an IPTV network in Chinese invention patent application with publication number CN1852319, publication date 2006, 10/25, entitled "method and system for realizing message service in an IPTV network", wherein the method comprises multimedia message. This approach requires the multimedia content to be encapsulated into a message and then sent to the set-top box, where the entire content of the message is downloaded before the user can read the message.
