背景技术
理由大量多媒体的现代社会给电视观众提供非常多的种类和范围的选择。目前，超过500种不同的节目频道通过有线电视服务播出。在线因特网服务也给消费者提供各种不同的服务，包括电子新闻、私人信息服务、游戏以及其它有关的可下载服务。由于电视观众可获得的频道数的增加，随着在这样的频道上可获得的节目内容的多样性，对于电视观众来说，识别电视节目或检索他们感兴趣的信息变得越来越具有挑战性。
有各种不同的电视节目指南是可获得的，也就是，电子节目指南(EPG)，其允许电视观众按照个人的喜好对可获得的电视节目进行分类或搜索。EPG比传统印刷的指南更加有效地允许观众识别所希望的节目。由于许多观众对于某种类型的节目具有特别的偏好或者对某种类型的节目有偏见，例如观众的偏好就可以应用到EPG，以获得一组被推荐的节目，其可能是一个特定观众所感兴趣的。

发明内容
本发明涉及用于按照一个特定主题的过去观看的历史来提供会话内容推荐的方法和系统。
本发明的一个方面涉及用于提供会话评论的方法并包括下列步骤：检测自多个源输入的电视信号，以识别观众喜欢的一个特定事件或主题，例如一个特定的体育队、运动员、政治竞选或时事问题；当观众喜欢的事件被检测到时，检索至少一个预定的会话推荐；以及基于有关事件的过去结果向观众呈现检索到的预定的会话推荐。
观众喜欢的主题基于观众的地理位置、观看特定主题的频率和/或明确的用户输入来确定。通过建立至多个因特网源的通信通道以检索与观众喜欢的主题相关的信息或者通过分析喜欢主题节目的视频内容以确定该事件的结果，获得过去的表现。该会话推荐以音频信号、文本信号、图像信号、视频信号或其组合的形式呈现给观众。
按照本发明的另一方面，用于提供会话推荐的一种系统包括：
检测装置，用于根据观众观看电视节目的观看历史来识别观众喜欢的特定节目；
检索装置，用于当所述观众喜欢的节目被检测到时检索至少一个会话推荐；

该系统还包括：

参照图1，本发明的较佳实施例是一个接收器系统10，其能够提供会话内容推荐。该系统10被构成为从因特网和传统电视(TV)广播以及多种其它源接收音频和视频节目，包括有线服务提供器、数字高清晰电视(HDTV)和/或数字标准清晰度电视(SDTV)信号、碟式卫星电视天线、传统的RF广播、因特网连接或其它的存储装置，例如VHS播放器或DVD播放器。该音频和视频节目可以在模拟、数字或数字压缩格式中通过任何传送装置进行传送，这些传送装置包括卫星、有线、电线、电视广播，或通过网站Web发送。应注意，本系统还能够连接到其它可能的网络，例如直接的专用网络和无线网络。可选择地，该接收器系统10可以耦合到个人计算机系统(未示出)以便通过一个高速线路、RF、传统调制解调器或承载视频节目的双向电缆来接收来自一个特定站点服务器的因特网内容。还提供一个遥控器3，以便根据需要发送命令信号到本发明系统10。

总之，观众喜欢的主题以下列五种方式之一来确定：
1)用户可以明确地告诉系统他们对哪一些主题感兴趣。例如，一个用户也许告诉系统记录所有包括纽约Jets足球队的节目；
2)该系统可以通过分析用户的观看历史来推断用户喜欢什么。例如，该系统可以注意到如果纽约Jets正在比赛，该用户更可能去观看足球节目；
3)该系统可以使用用户的地理位置。例如，如果该系统知道用户住在布朗克斯(Bronx)，它可以推断用户喜欢也位于布朗克斯的纽约扬基队；
4)该系统可以使用地理位置和观看历史两者结合来推断喜欢的主题；和
5)当该系统肯定一个主题但是不肯定观看的特定点时，它可以明确地询问用户。例如，当一个用户要求系统记录所有的关于纽约参议院竞选的电视节目时，系统可以询问用户是否有他们支持的特定候选人。在这样的系统中，默认的准则被自动设置，而该观众有修改它们的选择权。
一旦基于一个给定观众的地理位置和观看习惯确定了该观众喜欢的体育种类，则推断的喜爱运动队和运动员被传送到喜爱列表。当一个新的条目被加到该喜爱列表中时，系统10努力了解包含该用户观看的喜爱的人或物的事件的结果。该系统10从观看历史102(b)中了解用户看过的内容。对于当前事件，该系统10可以三种方式了解结果：
(i)对于过去的事件它可以查询网站；
(ii)它可以订购提供这些细节的第三方服务；以及
(iii)它可以分析输入的视频流。
提取一个体育事件的结果的两种简单方法包括：
(i)监控封闭字幕(closed caption)文本和/或
(ii)对屏幕文本执行OCR(Optical Character Recognition光字符识别)。

Claims (16)

1.一种用于提供会话推荐的方法，该方法包括下列步骤：
根据观众观看电视节目的观看历史，识别观众喜欢的特定节目；
将所述特定节目与过去事件相关；
确定相关过去事件的结果，
基于相关过去事件的结果，选择会话推荐；
将选择的会话推荐呈现给所述观众。
2.根据权利要求1的方法，进一步包括识别观众的爱好并且其中选择会话推荐还基于所识别的爱好。
3.根据权利要求1的方法，进一步包括获得所述观众的地理位置的步骤。
4.根据权利要求1的方法，其中基于所述观众的地理位置和观看所述特定节目的频率，确定所述观众喜欢的特定节目。
5.根据权利要求1的方法，其中以音频信号、文本信号、图像信号、视频信号或其组合的形式，将所述选择的会话推荐呈现给所述观众。
6.根据权利要求1的方法，其中通过下列步骤来获得所述结果：
建立至多个因特网源的通信通道，以检索与所述观众喜欢的所述特定节目相关的信息；以及
在存储媒体中存储所述检索到的信息，用于随后的检索。
7.根据权利要求1的方法，其中通过分析输入的视频流来获得所述结果。
8.根据权利要求7的方法，其中分析输入的视频流包括监控封闭字幕文本和/或对屏幕文本执行光字符识别。
9.根据权利要求1的方法，其中以会话音的形式将所述选择的会话推荐呈现给所述观众。
10.根据权利要求1的方法，其中通过电视网络、因特网、无线网和有线网或其组合中的至少一个，接收所述特定节目。
11.根据权利要求1的方法，包括以下步骤：
获得观众观看的过去节目的观看历史；
为所述观众生成表示由所述观众观看特定节目的频率的用户简档。
12.根据权利要求11的方法，其中响应于所述观众的输入，交互地创建所述用户简档。
13.一种用于提供会话推荐的系统，包括：
检测装置，用于根据观众观看电视节目的观看历史来识别观众喜欢的特定节目；
结果历史模块(102d)，用于存储与所述特定节目相关的过去事件的结果；
会话模块(108b)，用于存储会话推荐；
会话推荐器(108)，其耦合到检测装置、结果历史模块(102d)和会话模块(108d)，用于基于相关过去事件的结果来选择会话推荐之一；
推荐装置，用于将选择的会话推荐呈现给所述观众。
14.根据权利要求13的系统，进一步包括：
通信装置，用于建立至至少一个源的通信通道，以检索表示所述观众喜欢的所述特定节目的信息；
存储装置，用于存储代表多个预定会话推荐的数据，并且用于存储所述检索的信息。
15.根据权利要求13的系统，进一步包括耦合到所述推荐装置的显示装置，用于显示所述特定节目以及以音频信号、文本信号、视频信号、图像信号或其组合的形式显示所述会话推荐之一。
16.根据权利要求14的系统，其中代表多个所述预定会话推荐的数据被预先交互地创建。
