Double-valve tap for regulating the flow of either hot water or steam to radiators in heating installations. The object of the present invention is a double-valve tap for regulating the arrival of either hot water or steam to the radiators of heating installations.
Practice has shown that it is necessary to equip the radiators of heating installations with taps making it possible, not only to intercept the passage of hot water or steam at the discretion of the persons occupying the heated premises, but also limit the maximum free passage sections at will, in a permanent manner, in order to ensure a uniform distribution of heat between the various radiators.
Valves constructed to meet these two needs are said to be "double adjustment. In the present invention, the double adjustment is obtained by means of two independent, opposing valves placed in the same axis. These valves close a common orifice that must be through hot water or steam One of the valves allows to admit or stop hot water or steam, while the other valve is used to regulate the maximum flow of the tap, varying the free passage section.
The accompanying drawing shows an embodiment, given by way of example, of the object of the invention. Fig. 1 is a vertical section taken along the axis of the water or steam outlet nozzle; fig. 2 is the same vertical section, but in the axis of the water or steam inlet nozzle.
a is the body of the tap divided into two chambers cl and c2 by the diaphragm v, which has two faces g1 and g2, on which the valve s1 for closing the tap and the regulating valve s2, used to limit the maximum free opening of the valve. The valves' is controlled by a handwheel y and its axial movement is obtained by a rapid thread F1, allowing the valve to be fully opened with a few turns of the handwheel.
The valve stem t1 leaves the tap by passing through a sealing gland p completely enclosed in a bonnet d. The thread f 2 of the regulating valve stem t2 is fine, from dewlap to a large adjustment precision and sufficient tightness of the valve, during the adjustment operation. This is done by removing the safety plug e, intended to ensure the tightness of the valve, and by turning the valve s \ using a screwdriver which is inserted into the groove r of the rod t2.
Depending on the number of turns given to the valve, the mushroom of the latter moves more or less away from the face g2 of the diaphragm, and thus increases or decreases the maximum passage section. d 'is the water or steam inlet sleeve at the tap; d- is the water or steam outlet sleeve from the tap to the radiator.
