Description

Geschoss.

Bullet. The subject of the present invention is a projectile which differs from known projectiles in that it is made of glass.

The accompanying drawing shows two embodiments of the invention, for example, with one firing cartridge each equipped with the novel projectile being shown in longitudinal section with a partial view in FIGS. 1 and 2.

In the first embodiment (FIG. 1) a massive pointed bullet b is inserted in a cartridge case a. The same is made of glass of great hardness and is designed to be provided with a steel jacket to set top bullets. This projectile is expediently cast; therefore, its manufacturing costs are lower than those of pointed projectiles provided with steel jackets.

In the second embodiment (Fig. 2) the pointed end part of the Ge shot c has a cavity in which an explosive charge is enclosed. This explodes when the projectile hits, effectively splitting the latter.

The Gescho.ss could of course also be designed as a shotgun or as a projectile for air rifles.

Claims (1)

PATENT CLAIM: Projectile, characterized in that it consists of glass. SUBCLAIM Projectile according to claim, characterized in that it has a cavity in which an explosive charge is closed, which is intended to explode when the projectile hits and thereby effectively splinter the latter.
