Description
Anti-cathode for X-ray tubes. In the case of such X-ray tubes in which the anticathode lies in the same axis as the cathode, the front surface of the anticathode must usually be beveled at 45 ° to the axis. If such an anti-cathode is to be operated with water cooling, it is desirable to make the wall of the same as equally strong as possible everywhere. However, this encounters difficulties on the front surface, i.e. precisely where the heat is generated, because it is extremely difficult and cumbersome, for example by drilling a cavity inside the metal, mostly made of copper to produce an existing anti-cathode body, which corresponds to the external shape of the anti-cathode.
The present invention avoids this inconvenience by using a seamlessly drawn sleeve as an anticathode, the bottom of which is beveled towards the axis.
The accompanying drawing illustrates an embodiment of the subject matter of the invention. The anticathode 1 of the X-ray tube with the platinum mirror 2 is fused into the glass tube 4 by means of a soldered-on platinum ring 3 and connected to the rest of the glass body of the X-ray tube through this. The inner cavity 5 is filled with water.
It is readily apparent that in the present form, the front surface, where the heat to be dissipated is mainly generated, does not need to be significantly thicker than the side walls, so that the path to be covered by the heat in the metal can be any way limited and an extremely intensive cooling of the anticathode mirror can be achieved.
