Hollow wall with ventilation channels. The object of the present invention is a cavity wall with ventilation channels intended to reduce the temperature exchange between the interior and exterior facings.
The attached drawing shows, by way of example, an embodiment of the wall, object of the present invention, as well as the construction detail of the constituent elements.
Fig. 1 is an elevation, partly in section taken along line A-B of FIG. 2 of a section of wall, fig. 2 is a plan view; Fig. 3 is an elevation of the constituent parts of a seat element; fig. 4 is a section taken along line C-D of FIG. 3, and fig. 5 is a perspective view of the element of FIG. 3 ..
The wall, shown in fig. 1 and 2, consists of layers of superposed elements, with alternating joints; each course being formed by blocks 1 and 2 placed side by side, each having the shape of an inverted gutter, aligned end to end and connected together, at their lower part, by a brick 3, on which the jamb rests interior of blocks 1 and 2, shorter than the exterior jamb which, for its part; rests like brick 3, on the lower seat. The ends of the blocks 1 and 2 and the flat parts of the ends of the bricks 3 are connected to the neighboring ends by a mortar joint.
The outer leg of blocks 1 and 2 is thicker than the inner leg. Brick 3 has on each side of its upper face rims 4, intended to retain the binder, for example mortar, which connects the inner jamb of blocks 1 and 2 with brick 3. Rims 4 also limit the gap between blocks 1 and 2 and thus determine the maximum wall thickness that can be built with these materials.
The brick 3 has, at each end, a recess 5 which forms, when the wall is mounted according to FIG. 1, on the one hand, a vertical channel of communication between the bases and, on the other hand, a recess 6 forming a horizontal channel along the lower face of the brick 3 and the upper faces of the blocks 1 and 2 of the lower seat, these channels establishing communication between the median mattresses, .formed by the gap 7 between the blocks 1 and 2 of each seat, as shown by the arrows in fig. 1.
The wall thus constructed presents; in its thickness, three air circulation channels, namely the channels 8 and 9 formed by the hollow between the legs of the blocks 1 resp. 2 and the median channel 7, formed by the interstice of the two blocks 1 and 2 and combined with the recesses â and 6. The ventilation of the wall is obtained by the channel 7, which ensures air circulation in the direction vertical and horizontal, both between blocks 1 and 2 of the same seat, and between those of the superimposed seats.
Due to the complete separation between the exterior facing of the wall, consisting of block 1 and its interior facing, consisting of blocks 2, separation obtained by inters tice 7, blocks 1 and 2 can be configured in materials. different, for example freestone or cement concrete for blocks 1 and terracotta or heat insulating materials for blocks 2.
The combination of parts 1, 2 and 3 allows the construction of all kinds of walls of different shape and thickness. For making the angles, parts 1, 2 and 3 can be chamfered or else special parts can be used, such as for example block 10 or brick 11, as shown in fig. 2.
